Extremely rude staff

Extremely rude staff. Our waiter (goes b the name Ali) spilled the drink on us (which was amateur on his part but things like this can happen). Then to our surprise, he failed to acknowledge his mistake (may be the earth's rotation caused the spill??) and didn't even bother to apologize. Extremely frustrated, we talked to the manager (goes by Joe) and he too was so full of himself not to even apologize on Ali's behalf.

This was the most discourteous behavior we had ever experienced at any restaurant. Please try this out for a once in a lifetime display of pomposity.

To be fair to the restaurant's owner, food and music were above average. I hope he takes appropriate measures (if he cares enough about reading reviews)

Awesome Place With In ED Music!

Yes, the no of screens can drive you crazy. But not crazy enough to hate the place. Bora Bora is a nice place to unwind and has a great cuisine of Malaysian, Lebanese, Indian, Chinese etc. This place would have been a hit if there would be a floor that one could let itself loose. Friendly servers and good food make the place a hit. Not to mention the Sun-Thur Happy Hours.

Not Impressed

I visited this late evening. Somehow the food is average and the place is not at all comfortable. The slow service is the cherry on the burnt cake. Loud music and dim lighting keeps no space for communication. The food is alright but the portions are very small and doesn't have too much variety either.
In a place like Bandra where there are so many options you can give this one a miss.

Buzzing and great service on a Wednesday night

Went to Bora Bora after a couple of beers at another place.
The place was lightly crowded however the music was buzzing and electric.
Felt like dancing and i did.
Joe was a sport and happily helped us to all that we wanted.

Overall, a winner.

Service Sucks!!!

I visited this place last evening, 25 Jan 2014. I was seated at Table No. 168 & had Waiter No. 5 serve me (At least that's what the Tax Invoice says), To start with the table I got was in the corner and it was unbalanced. Each time you put some weight on it it shook, after highlighting it, instead of offering me a different place the waiter did some wrestling with it and got it balanced.

The food was ok!, The fish fingers were over-fried and instead of being golden brown were brown. The chicken shalisk was cold & the chicken was under-cooked. The chicken strognoff was ice-cold, like it was prepared for someone else and just given to me instead. When I highlighted this to the waiter he just acknowledged and didn't bother to offer to get it warmed or get another one. On the other hand the Chicken Pepper steak was good, no complaints there!

The music was good, but a tad bit too loud.

However, after this it all went down hill from here. I had got gift voucher for Rs. 1500, which presented once the bill arrived, the total bill was Rs. 2240.00. However, the manager (Mr. Stanley Franks, at least that is the name he gave), refused to accept the voucher, no reason given. When I went up to him he said the voucher had expired. I told him to check again as the date he was checking was the date on which the voucher was presented to me (28/12/2013). Mr. Stanley, then cited another cancellation, the voucher was originally supposed to expire in 2010 but it was still being used so the old date was cancelled and a new one was over-written above it (27/1/2014). (Bora, Bora, is so cheap they can't even print new vouchers). Mr. Stanley, was not willing to accept his mistake and admit that he was WRONG!!! I tried to talk to him and show him his mistake, but he became even more aggressive. He finally, agreed to make some calls and confirmed that the voucher was indeed valid, still no apology or even a simple sorry. He eventually had to adjust the invoice amount against the voucher & I gladly paid for the rest. Even after this it took around 5 -7 minutes to settle the bill. When I asked for the original bill, instead of giving me the original bill of Rs. 2240, he gave me a copy of the Rs. 740.00 that I was charged. By this time I was so frustrated and did not want to argue that I just took it and walked away.

Mr. Stanley, maybe one of your best employee, but he has no manners and does not know how to treat customers. He should not be in a customer facing job. I also know that no one will possibly reply to this or even pass this feedback onto Mr. Stanley. However, I for sure will not visit Bora, Bora again & I have already begun to spread the word that this place sucks!!!! I will always be a detractor when it come to Bora Bora.

I've been here a couple of times. Its a great place to hangout with your friends. The music here is great which is mixed by an actual dj that is present there. After 9 or 10 pm they play edm. The food here is also great. The best part is the cost of drinks during the happy hours which is what makes me wanna go there again. The ambience here is also amazing!!

The service too was quite good at Bandra. Hope to go there once again!!

Good food, heavy music & heavy on pocket

I'd been to Bora Bora last weekend with my fiancee and her sister. The ambiance of the place is more of a hip-hop kind. Most of the waiters were dressed in 3/4th shorts, loose t-shirts and caps ... giving it a complete hip-hop look. There was loud music being played and it was increasing with every passing hour. No doubt the music was good. This place is good only for people who love & don't mind loud music (& I mean really loud). The food quality & taste is very good, but at the same time expensive too. We had ordered a couple of drinks, 1 veg. starter and 2 veg. main dishes and the total bill (including taxes) was Rs 1800+ ... which I found to be expensive. On checking the bill the later realized, that the food is not that expensive as compared to the drinks & beverages. 1 aquafina bottle costs Rs. 85 and a 500ml 7up costs Rs 130... (excluding taxes) However the food was good in taste. We had ordered veg. Potato croquettes, veg. korean noodles & veg. lasagne and all of them were delicious, but not out of the world. So overall this place is a worth visit if you like loud music and if you really don't mind the budget. However I would not recommend this place if you want to meet over a get-together with friends as you would not be able to talk because of the loud music.

Young, lively and delectable!

This place is splendid. A superb place for a laid back evening with friends. You have good music, good food and an interesting team of waiters (all dressed like college punks - mind you its their usp!).

Food - Well quite good. Some dishes were on borderline awesome like the Chicken Char Grilled, Beef Steak and Veg Stroganoff. Some were quite decent like the Chicken Grilled Steak and Korean Fried rice (which comes with gravy). Drinks are good...they have Happy Hours on Sundays too! (what more can you want?)

Service - Good again. They were attentive and very polite.

Music & Ambiance - This is what makes the place popular. Club music, Pop & Hip hop is their choice. It gives the place a more lively feel. Of course if you don't like places with loud music, this isn't the place for you!

Pricing - Overall our average per head cost w/o alcoholic drinks was Rs. 550-600. Not bad!

Definitely will pay a visit again!

A note to BURRP: The menu uploaded here is not the latest. The variety is more and prices have changed. Please update. :)

Bora Bora not Tora Tora

I have been to their Andheri west outpost more often than the Bandra one. Personally prefer Hometown which is in the same premises, however few friends insist that we visit bora bora.

Nice ambiance, though the service is a bit lazy and with attitude at Bandra, though after a stern talking to, it has improved, but there have been enough complaints about it.

The music is pretty loud so to say, whilst the drinks are pretty good - no dilution and the starters to go along make it worthwhile to spend a bit of evening before it gets crowded and the music gets louder.

Good Food, Great Music

I love this place for 3 main reasons Music, Food and Happy Hours. The music here is what I love listening to, especially EDM after 10pm, the food menu has an awesome spread ranging from Thai, Malaysian, Chinese, Continental and Indian to suit your appetite. The Sunday to Thursday happy hours makes it a very good place to chill with ur friends especially on weekdays. Till date I've always had an awesome experience whenever I visit the place and their service is pretty good too. This place is definitely on the top of My Favourites.

Great place to Hangout !!!

To start with,

Bora bora is quite a happening place with the kind of crowd we saw even on a weekday. Mostly there were groups of collegians in their young twenties & yeah I like the lively ambience & many screens over there.
.

Music is so blasting loud that even after requesting the waiter to get the volume down, it was never done.

Food is decent ...nothing much to mention. I dont even remember the exact names of the dishes we had. But yeah i remember eating some spring rolls and some starter in paneer.

Drinks were served quick well in time though. Quite friendly service and warm responses from them.
Recommended and I myself been to regular.

MY FAVOURITEST BAR IN BANDRA

I absolutely love this place & visit it atleast once every week !!!
Its got a great chilled out vibe , fun music , reasonably priced alcohol , good bar food & great crowd !! Hence, making it a must visit !!!

Its tough for me to review this place in a nutshell but some of my favorite drinks / foods are:

Chicken Chilli: 4/5
Sesame Chicken: 5/5
Chicken Kalimirchi: 3/5
Veg Falafel: 3/5
Veg Hummus: 4/5
Veg Corn & Waterchesnut: 3/5

Long Island Ice Tea: 5/5 (Must Try)
Liquor Shots: 5/5 (All their shots are exceptionally good)

Value for Money: 4/5

IF YOUR IN BANDRA & IN THE MOOD FOR A DRINK, IT WOULD ALMOST BE A CRIME IF YOU DON'T CHECK THIS PLACE OUT ATLEAST ONCE !!!

Good drinking joint

I went there with my colleagues last week and had a good time. The place has a good vibe and plays good music. I ordered a Mai Tai which was strong enough to last the whole evening. We mostly had the finger food like potato wedges, prawns, chicken etc. Food was decent. It's a good place to go if you are in a large group.

Share:

Horrible and arrogant staff !!

Me and 2 more of my friends had gone there recently we were given a small table which would be ideal for 2 people but in rush hours they would squeeze in even 4 on that very same table. In the due course one of my friend left and we were only two of us and had paid the bill but ordered again post that, the manager came and asked us to shift table as they had rush. We denied said we are still drinking and haven't finished.

After some time another guy comes again requesting for the same thing. We had already denied once not that we were just sitting and not ordering for food. We had ordered Pasta after eating which my friend who left also got a stomach upset due to which she left.
Finally we left and this guy from Bora Bora tells us do not come again ever, we do not want people like you. This is how they treat guests at the restaurant. Not that we had a free table with all on the house. We were paying for everything with no discount or Happy Hours. Just because they have more people walking in they just cant ask people to keep shifting as per their whims and fancies.

I don't recommend this place to anyone. Horrible attitude an service. There are better places in Bandra with more customer friendly servers than just throwing their ugly attitude of being like the only good place in Bandra.

Good Place for a whisky

Bora bora is a good place if you just want to unwind after a long day. I sometimes hit the place after office hours for a whisky. I even enjoy the music. It can be loud, but thats how its supposed to be-no?

I am a single malt person and I like the fact that these guys have a good range on their menu. It is interesting to see Single Malts for a change.

Id say its a good place at the end of the day!

Horrible staff!!

Went there on a Saturday night (4th May 2013) only to be welcomed (NOT) by their stubborn and rude staff! What followed was a series of disappointing hospitality...
Post placing orders for starters and drinks, my sister and I requested the staff for some water and to our shock we were served in plastic glasses! In order to not spoil our night... we gave it a pass... but looks like the staff had more in-store for us... My sister's bag was placed on the chair next to her and our server just came to our table and picked up her bag and put it on our table to take the chair away... He didn't bother to ask us for the chair or even if he could touch the bag... By now they were testing our patience... for main course my sister ordered fish in lemon butter sauce and we were served a starter instead… We tried explaining our server that this is not what we ordered and we have ordered a main course which we have had here before… the server put the starter on a bigger plate with veggies and served it back to us and on questioning him back about it he only looked disgruntled and irritated (where is your hospitality dude!!!). I went to speak to the manager about the way we were treated and served and I was told “Ma’am this is not a fine dining restaurant, we are a casual restaurant… you cannot expect fine dining experience here… we are out of glasses as it is a busy night and so we can only serve water in plastic glasses.” Just For Your Information… you are a restaurant and you should know the crowd you need to cater to on weekends… and if they want to be so casual... Maybe next time serve in thermocol plates to show off your casual attitude!!!So MR. MANAGER please don’t give me the fine dining crap… this is not my first visit to a restaurant… instead of arguing with your guests try training your staff and yourself on basic etiquette of hospitality!!!

Staff too stubborn, Music too loud -

About 10 of us decided to meet yesterday over some drinks and dinner after a long time. Chose this place. When I reached at 8 pm, told them we would be 10 of us, with 2 already here, 2 more coming in 10 mins and the rest within half hour - 45 mins.

Requested them to give us the long table meant for 10-12 people. He said they 'could' do so only when everyone is here. Was made to sit on a table for 2, till 2 more friends came. Only then we were given a table of 6-7 (Oh thank you for the generosity! But there's more to it).

Drinks arrived. Cocktails were a bit weak in terms of alcohol content, which was corrected on complaining. Starters were good.

In the meanwhile, more people arrived, 4 to be precise, taking us to 8. We somehow squeezed in, not comfy, but managed.

3 more friends arrived, making us 11 in all. The staff could see we were all uncomfortable, trying to find space. Nope, but none of them bothered to ask us if we wanted to shift to that long table meant for 10-12. They offered some other table in the corner which we didn't want, and which was taken by someone else soon.

I then requested the manager to do so, and here's the statement (Shocker!): Sir, that table is meant for 15 people and a minimum billing of Rs. 15,000 is required. 1. Where would you make 15 people sit, literally on the table? 2. Why were these two things not told to me earlier?

To learn of both these things were very very pissing off. Sorry, but you do not weigh your customers with money, and if you do so, you tell them your intentions beforehand. They clearly made us feel that we were some losers, not worthy for that table, and more importantly, they just didn't want us to have a good time at ease. Just sad!

So by now, it was time for them to up the music volume, to discotheque levels (in a restaurant!) ...it was impossible for us to talk. We literally had to scream.

Since none of us were comfortable and we couldn't talk, we decided to leave without ordering more FnB. We thought we would have Mains and Desserts too. But instead, had enough nonsense!

Oh, and btw, that long table was still empty till the time we left!

Our bill here had come to 7k. At Home Town Cafe next door, where we went after Bora Bora, it came to 8k+. So Mr. Suited Booted Manager at Bora Bora, we did do a total bill of 15k+, just FYI. All that was required was some "Trust" and "Patience".

And you know the sad part, the second part of it may not have gone to your restaurant, but to your other group restaurant. That ideally shouldn't have happened, but alas, we had no choice.

Also, the manager and staff at Home Town was so nice. Stark differences with how two restaurants from the same group are run.

Never faced such an issue at Red Box or even Bora Bora Andheri W. Something's not right at the Bandra one, for sure.

Nice hangout place...

Being one of my director's favorite hangout place, Bora Bora was the obvious choice for an office lunch.

Loved the food, the music (although a bit loud) was awesome. They played good retro songs which were catchy...and created a good environment. The staff was courteous and gave good suggestions. The drinks were just perfect. Being a non drinker..very few places serve good virgin mojitos...but Bora bora gave me one perfect drink. The ambiance is nice giving a good cozy feeling with all the heavy wooden furniture...i would definitly go there again.

Cant comment more on the price since it was an office lunch...but am estimation a lunch/dinner for two would be in the range of 1000-1200 Rs.

Saturday Night

We were a group of 10, it took them a while to find us a table - about 20 mins.

Can't have a conversation here - music is too loud.

The alcohol is a bit costly, but when out with a group that's not the first thing one would bother about.

There will be drunk people everywhere - not meant for family.

They shut down at 1.30 - music is off and the manager will ask you to carry your pints out if your drinks are not finished!

We didn't really eat much - but they do have a good menu.

Enjoy ;)

Disappointing on most aspects

Five of us went there couple of weeks back and the whole experience was disappointing. Starting with the table that was given for us. It was a table for 6 right next to the order booking kiosk which means the 6th seat was utter waste, no grown up man could sit there. We asked the manager to change our seats on two accounts 1. it was really uncomfortable and 2. it was really far from the screen. Manager was ready to change the seats but he said they are not going to screen that match after 9 (1st Lie). The match continued at least till 945 (we left at that time)
Then we asked for sofa seats adjacent to our table, he flatly refused to give it to us saying that is reserved for high paying customers ( total order value more than 15k which usually means a group of 8-10 people) (2nd lie). Few minutes later it was given to a group of 4-5 people.
Now lets come to music: Justin Beiber and Backstreet Boys in the name of House Music..huh..gimme a break..
Now food: Food was ok..seafood platter was good...my friends were saying drinks were ok ok..but pricey..
I had great expectations about this place..left disappointed.. never coming back.

Bora Bora is an amazing place to go with family or friends..I go here often with my family and order chicken barbeque and it is so yummy..They serve everything quite fast..But yes, they do give more importance to customers who order drinks. But that being said, if you live in bandra, you have got to try this place for its beautiful ambiance and yummy food..I wouldn’t say the prices are reasonable but if you have few extra bucks, then go ahead.

so the cocktails are good. the food is not so great.
service was a bit rude when i went and it wasnt that busy either (so that wasnt the excuse)
music is pretty loud, so if you're going there in a group, to make noise, you have some competition.
but no doubt the DJ's that play there are really good.. latest songs.
its very expensive for my taste. maybe its a place to go once.

Worst Exp of my Life: Attitude of Staff Stinks

I am disgusted to even give 1 Star to Bora Bora Bandra as we were literally asked to leave the place. Saimik and Ravi who manage the place should do a course in handling customers as they have no clue how to. If any one senior from Bora Bora is accidentally reading this then I demand a personal apology.

We were four friends and went on a Tuesday evening whereby the place was relatively empty. We walked in and saw one of the semi circular sofa tables empty and sat down. Immediately Ravi came and told us that it is for 7 people without bothering to ask if more are expected. We co-operated and he made us sit at one of the high tables 4-seater near the bar. We sat down and ordered our drinks. After 10 minutes Ravi came and asked us to occupy another table saying that this was reserved. "Excuse me" "Are we dummies that you are tossing us around from table to table" And there was no reserved sign anywhere on the table. We refused to get up saying that this is not done. He then went and spoke to Saimik who CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!! Refused to serve us drinks. He informed his bar and openly said on our faces I WILL NOT SERVE YOU ANYTHING. When we said that we were asked by Ravi to sit here and we haven't come by ourselves then he said 'This is a minimum billing table' And walked away.

I can understand Bad customer experience, but has anyone ever faced this ever in a hospitality industry. There was no apology of any kind. Those guys spoke with straight faces and there was no courtesy of any kind. Bora Bora Management please reason on this. I would love to see if I get any reply at all. I have been to all your franchise restaurants but this has been the WORST EXPERIENCE of MY LIFE. It has been extremely insulting and humiliating and nothing and absolutely nothing that you ever do can change this. The only thing that can change this is a personal apology from Saimik and Ravi.

No food without alcohol?

No food without alcohol? Bora bora refused to serve me and 6 of my friends food because we didn't order alcohol. How bad is that? "order alcohol or leave" that too after we'd already sat and finished ordering our food. The manager comes and tells us in so many words that he won't serve us unless we order alcohol and that we're taking up his space, as he has several customers without a table... What sort of joint is that? Never going back...

Could be way better - MANAGER NEEDS TRAINING

So good things first - Good Location, Nice music (could be toned down a little), Nice ambiance (slightly off the mark as they have tried to mash English Pub with Stone Castle) ... The Cocktail was satisfactory, the Beers were chilled, the food was average.... The cost - about 1000 Rupees a head and all in all a good night out ...

The BAD PART - Did not tell us about Happy Hours until we asked .... then proceeded to charge us in full for all the drinks (our fault for not checking before the card was swiped) ..... but the real kicker was the TERRIBLE MANAGER who actually raised his voice after he made this error .... he finally apologized and acknowledged his error but refused to rectify it asking us to take home two more beers which we did not want..... he then told us he was too busy to help us ..... EITHER TRAIN HIM OR GET RID OF HIM .....

Valet goof up

I had a bad experience with the valet here. My key were misplaced by the valet. I waited for half an hour for the staff to find out keys but the driver who had parked my car had taken keys with him to his house. I complained to the manager of Bora Bora. He sent his junior to see. His junior also came out for 10 mins and then said the valet is China Gate''s responsibility. I called China Gate's Manager, he said its not his responsibility and it is bora bora's manager responsibility.

Doesn't live up to its predecessor!

Loved the ambience, the woody decor, different seating options and the fact that they've got Happy Hours from Mon-Thu 12 am-12 pm!! But sadly the food and beverages here does not match up. The Watermelon Splice sounded like a nice twist to the Long Island but actually tasted really synthetic and left a bitter aftertaste. The appetizers (sesame chicken and schezwan potatoes) also weren't anything to rave about. Word of advice-stick to beer!
For a name like Bora Bora, the servers are dressed all Ghetto! :P Also it wouldnt hurt to play better music. 7 p.m. on a Friday aint no time for 'Lady in Red'! Just saying!

Awesome!!

If you are new and looking to hear some great live music, look nowhere else and head straight to Bora bora . I have been there many times and havent been disappointed with any aspect of this wonderful club. The service, food, drinks(variety and mixing) is all top notch. They invite the best performers of the world so there is nothing to complain about the performances. Also they dont fuss about the couple entry rules, music is for everyone( if you willing to pay though ;) ). Anyways its worth it.

Good food

BORA BORA has a very ghetto ambiance. With the waiters wearing an over sized t-shirt and a cap , you know what to expect. The music is extremely loud and we asked them to lower the volume, but they didn't . When it comes to food, i ordered Macaroni with corn & cheese . It was quite good Wouldn't recommend this place if you're going out on a date.

Bora Bora

This is the place that has opened where Red Box used to be, at the junction of Turner Road and Waterfield Road. Rather late on a Saturday evening, this was the only place out of many in the immediate vicinity which didn't have a queue.

The first thing I was warned of was that the music is very loud. Fair warning. I remembered how Red Box used to be, and since I wasn't looking for a quiet evening, I didn't mind.
Mistake. It was much louder than I imagined. Forget conversation -- it was a good couple of decibels above the threshold of pain. But I guess the human ear has an inordinate ability to adapt.
The decor is amusing--besides their iconic barrels there are some 19th century firearms and other medieval weaponry on display.

There are no pitchers or towers for beer but the drinks menu, although not big, has fair variety. However, several of the listed things weren't available, and that becomes really irritating when 10 minutes after taking your order the waiter comes back with an apology. And then the same thing happens again. Service was generally struggling.
Drinks (cocktails and spirits), when they finally arrived, were satisfying--at least that bit was well taken care of.
For food, the menu has a small bunch of mostly Chinese appetisers, which were also good (too spicy for some perhaps).

At the end of a night of heavy drinking and celebration to extremely loud, incoherent and largely dislikeable music, the bill was a bit higher than expected.
On the whole, however, we didn't mind. Perhaps the place will get better with time.

Good place for a few drinks with friends

Not the best of places to enjoy ones time out with friends but descent enough. And that was made possible by the amazing deal of happy hours till 12 midnight. Happy hours allowed us to enjoy "do ke saath ek free". This was valid only for the desi brand of drinks. We got one pe one free on kamakazi shots. We ordered only finger foods which was surprisingly not bad. We ordered kung pao paneer and crispy potato. I was not happy with the taste of the crispy potato ( it tasted like fried maida). The waiter gladly replaced it with potato wedges. Apart from that the service was not up to the mark. He brought us 3 of our shots and got the other 3 after 15 mins and a lot of badgering, same delay in food as well. There were 5 of us and the bill came out to be around 5500 bucks. This included 3 beers, 9 rum and tonic, one iced tea, kung pao paneer and potato wedges.
Music was bad. They were playing backstreet boys classics! but a fun place to hang out with good company.
