"Bru"ing some great coffee
Thsi place is just not like those typical coffee chain outlets and has this special touch to it.
The whole ambience is well lit with comfortable seating indoors as well as outdoors.
I like the step up arrangement at the juhu outlet with a display of accessories on shelf that can be purchased giving it a very antique twist.
The coffee shop bru's some great combinations be it ice cold or warm ones..
My all time favourite is the cookie coffee cold shake
The chicken sandwiches, The chocolate chip cookie,
The gautemela special edition freshly brewed hot coffee was a hit
Worth a try
The cookie coffee shake is to die for an absolute must.
The first one
This was the first BRU cafe to be launched and had become quite a favorite. The filter coffee was prepared perfectly, consistently every time I went there and yes I spent quite some time there.
So, it was with a shock I landed up a while ago and saw that they had created a 'Smoking Room' right in the font, which took away the ambiance and made me claustrophobic to say the list.
It is now quite low on my list of to visit places, irrespective of good service.
first bad experience at bru world
i was craving for a nice cold coffee...i was surprised by seeing tiramisu cappucino in their menu...i ordered the same in the cold coffee form-sadly it hardly had the tiramisu flavor in it.so avoid this one-go for their other coffees-especially the flavored ones...ambiance is okay,so is the service they provide, one of my acquaintances had a bad experience with the food though...Sigh!
Visited Bru World Cafe last evening with a friend. This place is probably a good example that's its indeed all about location location location
Its located a stone's throw away from juhu beach and bang opposite J W Marriott. . Wooden decor, white grace board outside and glass window view of the road is quite enchanting.
However food and coffee is another matter altogether. First there are hardly any options for food. some cold small chicken pot pie which had ONLY kidney beans. Paneer sandwich was dry and tasteless and a single small palmier that i ordered for 20 bucks was anything but French.Coffee was nothing to speak about. Regular fare at any cafe, albeit in smaller cups.
The staff was friendly though and service was decent. the place was pretty empty at 7 pm on a Wednesday, which goes to show all the wasted possibilities These guys can do so much more with a location like that and make it a favorite hangout for the crowd from the big hotels nearby as well as people in Juhu . All they need to do is to kick out their patisserie and replace the menu with some juicy succulent burgers, some hot food options and a little generosity with the coffee serving
Good ambiance, good location
Just stepped out of the Bru World and am writing this review from my Blackberry.
We had ordered a Cappuccino and an Irish Coffee. Wifey liked her Cappuccino. My Irish Coffee was way too sweet much like a Roohafza sherbet. They need to go easy on the syrup.
Their location is perfect - just around the Juhu beach.
Just pick up coffee and go for a stroll at the beach.
A better coffee experience
I visited this one right after the malad outlet. This was more crowded due to the prime location. We were 4 people and there were separately located tables for two available. The staff immediately offered to join tables for us. This happened within the first 30 seconds of entering. Since I had had the Mocha cold coffee before, I recommended it to my friends and opted for the Classic cold coffee with Hazelnut syrup add-on. (The coffee was good but I din taste no hazelnut syrup). Two of my friends ordered the Mocha cold coffee but found it more bitter than sweet. Sugar restored the balance and they liked it very much. The other friend ordered the Irish Coffee and some chicken sandwich which was not well prepared. The filling was all dumped in the center of the sandwich. I also ordered the Chicken Nizami roll. It was very delicious. I also liked the fact the they had a small diner-like counter though it was left unoccupied.
We spent a good amount of time there, chatting and catching up, long after our respective orders were devoured. The weird thing was that we were sent our bill though we had not asked for it. No waiter subtly asking, "Would you like to order anything else" .It was a slightly rude way of saying "Please pay and leave". What was weirder was that it was the wrong bill! We then asked for our bill and paid and left anyway.
This minor weirdness aside, I liked the food and coffees (overall) and I would recommend this place if you are tired of having the same old coffees at the other cafe chains.
Nice and Cozy!
Had been to this place a few days ago. The ambiance is really cozy and spacious. There are all kinds of seating arrangements here, from normal table and chairs to couches to bar stools at their counter. There is also a TV in case you are interested. They also keep newspapers which I find to be good.
The menu seems pretty good too. Has a lot of variety from the traditional coffees to the International ones. The sandwiches, pastries, biscuits that go with the coffees also have good variety and are reasonably priced.
We had a biscotti, a mediterranian panini and a macaroon which were all very yummy! The filter coffee that we ordered was good in its own way since I found the taste to be slightly different from the original one.
I would certainly go back here. One, because its a refreshing change from going to the usual coffee shops and two, because the ambience is very nice where you can relax and have a good time with friends!
Okay you serve me water unlike other coffee shops.
But what's the deal about wanting to clear my table as soon as the froth on the cappuccino settles?
Been there 5 times now, and generally its never packed to capacity--so like every half-decent coffee shop, I've dawdled about after my order has finished and places like Gloria Jean let you sit there for HOURS if you've even ordered one biscuit. That's what a coffee shop is supposed to be.
A place to relax, and have lengthy conversations, and in case its filling up, every half educated patron knows that if there's no order, its courtesy to vacate your table for fresh customers.
But anyway, just today at my 6th time at the place, the darned waiter kept coming and asking to clear the cups, okay, i haven't even finished half of it, stay away, ill call you if i want a clearance.
And then the biggest tick off, he comes and asks me if i should get the check....What...the...what kind of coffee shop comes and asks you whether you want your check. And only one other table is occupied, if you want your coffee shop to be empty, come tell me. You're not a restaurant, get over the fact that you serve me water when i come in.
The coffee's great but this behavior isn't acceptable. I doubt i'll be going there again, kind of liked the coffee.
Bru cafe is colorful and has a certain old charm to it.
they play world music from drumbs and tambourines to jazz and soulful ballads.
its well lit and fairly spacious.
