A place to dine amidst old world charm. Been here with college friends which is perfect company for such place. We ordered Beef Chilli Pasta, Cheese Spinach and Corn Lasagne, Pollo Valdostana , Pollo Arososto, Fish Fingers, Spice n' Nice Fries , Chicken Cordon Bleu and Raspberry soda. Portions were great for us since we were all starving and everything was simply lips-smacking delicious. Value for money for such quality and quantity and laid back, cosy ambiance.
Food is really good
Even though the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired and service could be improved upon, the food more than makes up for it with amazing filet o fish burger, cheddar baked chicken, fish fingers,prawn nirvana...seriously great food which one would never know unless one stepped inside! I am so thankful to my friends who introduced me to this place! A bit expensive which means I cannot go here every week...but when I get job and start earning money...I will be here every week!
Don't be let down by the size of the cafe as the food is to die for at this place. They have sumptuous meals filled with substance. The place radiates a sense of homeliness. Recently, I had the blueberry cheesecake which was an enriching experience. Right from the cheesecake melting in the mouth to the oozing blueberry jelly from the middle of the cheesecake, the whole experience is one worth having.
Apart from that the waffles topped with sweet maple syrup and honey with a scoop of vanilla ice cream juts bakes a filling snack for all waffle lovers. The waffles are crisp, hot and combined with the cooling ice cream just makes your day.
So go ahead, try it...
THE place in Colaba for lunch!
Cafe Churchill is a place that I've been visiting for years and it still hasn't lost any of its charm. The quality of food is top notch and their desserts are to die for.
The only problem is space. It gets a bit cramped and doesn't seat too many people so one might have to wait a while to be seated but it does not disappoint!
Recently I tried the Chicken Breast with potatoes of the day which was Chicken, Bacon and Cheese on a delicious layer of tomato sauce along with mashed potatoes and veggies. This was followed by the a dark chocolate cake (size of the slice was smaller than I remember). Definitely one of the top ten best meals I've ever had.
Other good things to try here are the pastas, sizzlers and baileys cake.
i had visited this place with my friends when we had gone for shopping at colaba causeway...as this place is situated right in between of colaba causeway it is always full...we managed to get our table after 15 mins...when we entered in ..it was a small resto with a 5-6 tables...i wanted to try out this place because my friends used to tell me that you great good food here...we were greeted by this lady here who is actually the owner of the restaurant..she was sooo kind and humble..she told us to try some of the best sellers of this place...we ordered one coronation lamb , chicken pollo pasta and lamb chops ...when we received our order the plate was soo eye catchy...lovely presentaion...the taste of all the 3 dishes was great...the lamb was very moist and soft and yummy too...in all a great experience
Seldom does one come across a restaurant, where almost every single option in the menu is near-perfect. Churchill is an example. I usually avoid visiting the same restaurant more than twice. Churchill is an exception. In fact, a friend of mine whom I once took out for dinner at Churchill regrets how she misses out on the Churchill salmon, now that she has moved over to Dubai.
A regular at Churchill, there is hardly anything in their menu that I have not tried out. Their proportions are bountiful, and we often avoid the starters and dig into the main course right away. A huge favourite of mine is chippolati -- a tomato-based preparation of salmon or prawn (i usually prefer the salmon!). Another must-try is their pollo arrostto, with a spicy pepper-based sauce. The beef tenderloin steak is to die for. I prefer my steaks well-prepared and the steak at Churchill nearly melts in the mouth. No dinner at Churchill is complete without their amazing hand-picked dessert, each one of them mouth-watering. Most importantly, it is quite cheap and has a very friendly, cosy décor and an equally friendly staff, who takes keen interest in the order that is placed, often coming up with their own suggestions.
The best place ever!
Reasonably priced most awesome place ever
I would be one of the biggest fans of this place and I am not sure if this has entirely to do with the fact that it serves amazing food. Maybe because it is located on the causeway, maybe because it is so cozy, maybe the friendly staff, maybe the name... I could go on.
I usually hate repeating restaurants but Chruchill is one of the few, I would never say a 'no' to. Right from the cold coffee, to the peach teas, from the grilled to perfection chicken steak to the mouth watering chicken lasagna; from the crunchy onion rings to the roast lamb sandwiches - the food is to die for.
Reasonably priced, you'd not spend more than 700 for two persons (hearty filled stomachs mind you)
Lovely little cafe
Café Churchill brings back many old memories and I always go back feeling nostalgic. Tiny little place, literally tiny with 8 or 9 tables. Usually a waiting during peak meal hours, I think I have almost tried everything on the menu. And everything is good! Trust me! Their steak is gorgeous and massive! The pastas are lovely too. And desserts are killer! They are on display in the refrigerator pick any one and you wont be disappointed. P.s: they dont accept credit cards !
all food .. no nonsense
if you love Continental in its true form and if u r looking for just and no nonsense around it ... this is the place to be ... they have mastered everything on there menu ... rite from the pasta's to the lasagna's... from the burgers to the sandwiches ... from the risottos to the rice .... a very small and cozzy place ... which has quick service and has awesome deserts ...
Generous portions, home style food
After hearing a lot about this place, we went there for lunch one afternoon. I was expecting some really greasy food with bold flavours after going through their menu but I was surprised when our starter of Lemon Mushrooms was put in front of us. It was mild, mellow and made with just the right amount of herbs and spices! Delicious.
The husband had a burger and the juicy patty in this just shone through. The fries served alongside were homestyle and it was heartening to see this, a far cry from the machine-made fries that you get in most places these days. I went in for a Prawn with tomato chilli sauce, this succulent and spicy seafood dish was served with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies which made it a very filling meal.
For dessert we had the cheesecake and the Banoffee pie, both of which were excellent. The latter had a shortcrust pastry that was buttery and crumbly, which made it a delight to dig into.
Well if you are in Colaba, a foodie and likes conti then Churchill is where you must head. They have some lip smacking food and don't worry about the ordering cause whatever you order is gonna be yum yum yum. Try their Churchill special lasagna and you won't regret it. Colaba is an wizard with a few neat tricks to give him just that little awe to keep him abreast in a sea of fancier gimics and expensive tastes...while Leopold n Woodside inn & company keep the hip crowd occupied ,imbiss has many clawing back to the colaba scene..the lowest denominators too have a say with new Martin's keeping meat hungry well feed,all without fleecing them. I happily consumed my evening on deciding whether to weather a trip down town n skip the above listed and try another restaurant squeezed into a wall. Brilliantly located is what I would ,as I assume parking at night after 9.30 won't be concern here,cafe Churchill is the place to be on any spot on the week...assure u that an image of Mr .Churchill will look into ur food before its served to assure the same taste n affections that its served with in this cafe...had the waiter recommend us a fish stake,lamb chops ,lasagna and beef stake...absolute delight.the four make a meat eating troop n have the right sizes to justify.we were absorbed by the personalized service and the regulars were extremely helpful....I'm gonna refrain from a detail as this would simply do injustice to all,those who haven't been to this exquisite meat shrine...please devote some time and pledged your allegiance..I'm,so stuffed right now ,I can only dream of that cheesecake almost kicked off the plate..
This place serves the best lasagne & garlic bread .. a very very small place there might be hardly 5 tables owned by an old parsi lady i guess in colaba..amazingggg food..the iced tea is also good here..the only bad part is that u havto wait a long time if ur going on a weekend cuz the place is very small..the chocolate gooey pasty is heavenly.. a must try !!!
The more you visit the more u want to visit again
Yesterday evening with a group of 13 people I went to Café Churchill at Colaba. We decided to go early because looking at our group size and the restaurant size it would be difficult to get a table. We were asked to wait for an hour. Looking at the kids and ladies waiting outside a sweet Parsi lady (who I guess was the owner) asked us to come in and sit on an empty table and luckily she managed to get some guests to shift to another smaller table so we could all sit together. For this gesture the management gets big thumbs up from me. I have been to other snooty restaurants which are much bigger but still ask you to wait even if they have tables.
The menu is big and exhaustive. We just decided to order and go with the flow. Starters of Cheese fries, Chicken fingers, Onion rings, Bruschetta were delicious but the best was yet to come. Chicken teriyakis, chicken sausages in paprika sauce, mushrooms in 2 different sauces were yum.I suggest if you are confused please go with what the manager suggests. His suggestions are really good.
Time to order the main course and we went the full distance ordering mutton, chicken, veggies, fish and burgers. The Lamb chops with Mash and pepper sauce had the meat dripping of the bones in yummy pepper sauce. Meat lovers please order this and you will not be disappointed. Country chicken with chicken bacon in paprika sauce with mash and cheese was outstanding. The flavor of the sauce with the cheese and chicken breast and bacon had us wanting more. My friend ordered his mums favourite fish casserole and it is one of the yummiest fish dishes I have had. Its cheesy, fishy and delicious. Served hot it would go very well with garlic bread. The rice with chicken and the rice with veggies were also very good. On the main course I would give it a 5/5 and for the starters a 4/5. We were so stuffed we could not finish the burgers which were also very good. The peach ice tea also deserves a mention. Very peachy and very refreshing.
We were so stuffed for desert but decided to have the gooey chocolate cake and the Irish chocolate cake. Served hot the gooey chocolate was yum. Moist, choclatey and would have gone very well with some vanilla ice cream. Irish chocolate cake was ok.
All in all a great trip and absolute value for money. The service, the food, the location everything makes Café Churchill a Mumbai favourite where u want to vist again and again

One of my favorites in a stretch where you are spoiled for choice. It is ideal for a quick bite, before exploring the causeway. I highly recommend the Fish & Chips & Fried Sausages. Desserts here are a real treat especially the Cheese Cakes (Blueberry & Lemon). A bit challenged in terms of seating space so make sure you reach early (1 p.m. for Lunch & 8 p.m for Dinner). I have never had to wait, but seen long queues outside when I leave. The personalized service by the owners is a delight and makes me return to the "Cozy Cafe".
Nice Small place
Its a place which can be easily missed out admist the hordes of stalls on the pavements. We realised how small the place is after actually entering it . Only 6 tables and almost full. Foo dis Tasty but the prices not so cheap for a eatery of this caliber. But Again the Food quality was good and since it was located in a prime spot of Colaba, it makes sense for the kinda pricing they have on the Menu !!

White sauce land!
This place is strictly OK, no more than that. Their pastas and baked dishes are drowned in white sauce. The tuna salad is better (but then, that is hard to get wrong). The desserts used to be an attraction but today there is Theobroma across the road and it's hard to get better than that.
This is one my best discoveries in Colaba. This small, cute cafe is for sure a hidden treasure. Even though this place doesnt really plate the dish well but it makes up for it with the amazing taste. Their desserts are to die for!!! The veg lasagne and the mix sauce pasta is superb. Even the ravioli is nice. not purely and authentic italian cafe but the slightly different taste gives it an edge and makes you wanna sample the entire menu. those ppl who have not been here are surely missing out on something really special.. P.S. the servers are really helpful and the owner is very knowledgable and has a fantastic memory..
No one can eat just once!
Having heard a lot about this place since the time I had shifted to Bombay, on one lazy Friday afternoon I finally decided to take my taste buds out for a treat. The more you hear, the more the anticipation. But, anywho. Set amidst the many stalls on Colaba Causeway, this restaurant was a little difficult to locate. Just so that you avoid wasting time, look for the Bombay Dyeing store and bang opposite that is our quaint little Irani joint which also by the way, serves Chinese. Good Chinese.
We enter to find that the place was a little cramped up with only six tables to seat the customers and hence were politely asked to wait outside for five minutes before they could clear a table for us. The good part of waiting outside was that we could browse through the menu which was stuck against the door and hence could take our time and zero down on what to eat. Variety is what I said first when I browsed through the reasonably priced menu. It was lunch time and me and my friend being mighty hungry settled down to try out the chicken and rice serves.
As told by the guy inside, 5 minutes later we were asked to occupy the centre table with the owner of the place, a cute little Parsi looking aunty waiting for us to place our order. Having already decided what to eat, we quickly asked for a plate of Country Style Chicken and Mixed Grill and Pollo Alla Indiana. Fancy names, I must say. Looking around I saw that most of the people there hardly looked at each others faces and were more or less engrossed with what was on their plate and palate. Good thing, I guess. *hopes, rising*
10 minutes later, I see the waiters gleaming face asking me to move my phone and wallet so that he could place our plates on the table. The first spoon in my mouth and, Good Lord, that was exactly the kind of chicken I was craving to have. Succulent, soft and all ingredients added unerringly the way I had wished for it to be. WIN MOMENT. I looked at my friend and her expressions conveyed the same delight. My serve of Pollo Alla Indiana had in it, cubes of marinated chicken, sautéed with mushrooms and bell pepper, was cooked in creamy sauce and was served with rice and boiled vegetables ( carrots and beans ) by the side. Lacked a little salt, but after the extra addition it made for a perfect meal. Filling. My friend had asked for a Country Style Chicken and Mixed Grill which was put together with grilled chicken breasts, Spicy chicken salami cooked in the Chefs Own Grilled Sauce and was garnished with a boiled egg. I had a couple of spoons and it was as good as mine or even a little better.
Eating to our fill and happy and content with the service, food and place, in the end we decided to order an Irish Bailey Pastry to sign off in a good way. One can be split between two and although I thought it was a little over-priced, but that sumptuous piece with all the cream and chocolate it was filled with, drove away those lingering thoughts of having to shell out a little extra money.

Treat on causeway...! Cafe Churchill!
Every possibility you are going to miss the window-sized entrance to the equally small cafe on the over-crowded Colaba Causeway. Although small (5-6 tables) and without a great ambiance, it boasts off a full-house almost always. You can never avoid the chitter-chattering of college students, foreigners and shoppers; all who throng to this old but renowned eatery that lists a global menu.
Service is a little slow but since you get to relax away from the crowded streets, you wouldn't really mind. I've tried Roast Lamb...delectable! Other hits are Hawaiian Chicken, Fried Chicken Sausages and Garlic Bread with cheese. The best way to end your meal here is to indulge in the sinful desserts. Must tries are the Banoffee (the best banana-chocolate tarts I've had), Blueberry Cheesecake and the very own Churchill cake, Irish Bailey.
Avoid Lasagne and cheesy fries, Lasagne for the pasta sheet being rubbery and do I really need to tell you why not to try cheesy fries...too full of cheese and oil and potato (killer combination!)
I don't know why people say its reasonable. I found it slightly over-priced. But yes you can have a complete meal in Rs 400.
Lunch time steak no good
We have been regulars at Cafe Churchill. Our favourite dishes include any of the pastas in delicious creamy sauces and the Chateaubriand steak. On a recent visit at lunch hour, we ordered one steak that serves two and looked forward to the tender meat done in a finger licking delicious sauce with crunchy vegetables and mashed potatoes. Unfortunately we were sorely disappointed.
The meat was rare (we had ordered it medium rare), the sauce was not up to the usual mark and there were very few vegetables. Perhaps if the beef itself was superior quality, it would have been enjoyable even rare. Even after being redone to medium it was not much fun.
This was the only occasion we have dined here during the day and can only put down this poor show to different kitchen crew for day and night shifts. So if we do go back, it will be only for dinner and certainly only for pasta.

new to bombay..this place was recommended by a friend..its not a conventional resteraunt..a cute little place with just 5-6 small tables..
the food is fresh and delicious..and brilliant value for money..the desserts call out to u from that fridge..they are almost out of the world...loved the experience..would definitely be going back a lot!

A calm and quite place.. moderately priced.. even the drinks... Quite surprising to have an irani joint that serves chinese food too... try out the cheese balls... seems to be their trade mark dish... best combo is with beer... Good service..Decent ambience without AC... overall a 4 out of 5..
5 star place......
A little congested, agreed. But once u eat here, there is no alternative to eat in colaba. Steak is awsome. Cracker prawns is a must try. Menu is huge just like its quantity. I hv been there 100 times or so but never found it disappointing. I m not a fan of their pastries though. But food is tooo good. 4 1/2 for food, 3 for ambiance and 4 overall..

Well, the last three or four reviews about this place, seem to be quite bad. So, i thought i'd share a fairly good experience i had here a few nights ago. Was there with my wife and cousin. Amongst us we ordered 2 plates of french fries with cheese (decent), garlic bread with cheese (quite nice), and a spicy starter called sausage with firecracker sauce (the sauce was nice, but the sausages were a bit disappointing). For mains we ordered, Chicken fingers (not the best thing to order), a Beef Steak Solomon and a grilled Lamb Chops, which were both not on the menu, but mentioned as specials on the board. The Beek steak was very good, with a good sauce, and had huge portions, with a side of mashed potatoes, and veggies, and chicken bacon and onions. Really liked it a lot. The Lamb chops were also decent, but a little dry and we didn't like the tomato pasta gravy that came along with the lamb chops. overall the damages were about 1800 including soft drinks and desserts. Was the first time i was there, so i can't comment how great the food was earlier, but at least the food wasn't bad when we were there. Overall, it was quite an enjoyable experience.
Garlic Bread with COCKROACH!!!

iv always visited churchill various times thru my college days and have always stopped by for a quick meal whenever in colaba.. on one such occasion my frend and i visited the restaurant for lunch and ordered a pasta dish and garlic bread with cheese................ as always the food was served quickly and we began to chow down ............. suddenly i notice something weird about the garlic bread - something black wedged under the cheese layer.... on inspecting it (i almost thru up what i had already eaten) i saw a big COCKROACH just lying there on the bread!!! it was absolutely disgusting and we were so upset because we were just dying of hunger and tht sight just killed our appetite! But it wasnt over there.... when we called the manager/owner and complained to him abt the same he firstly denied the fact tht there are insects in his kitchen and later out of fear admitted saying its the bread tht had it and as it was sourced from an outside vendor it wasnt his fault. Ofcourse we knew that it wasnt in the bread but very much outside it but in any case decided not to argue further and caled for the cheque. THIS TOOK THE CAKE !!! the guy actually had the audacity to CHARGE US FOR THE GARLIC BREAD WITH COCKROACH.................. had it been any other place they wudve jus apologised and cancelled all charges but these guys did not even have the courtesy to handle the situation that could cost them their reputation. I have made it a point after that incident to warn all my frends and relatives about Churchill and this digusting incident. I really wish that someone goes in and inspects their filthy kitchen and strips off their license as they dont deserve to be in this business if they do not have their basic ethic in place! one does not expect an ignorant attitude like this frm a plce which is as old and well known as churchill but htis is the UGLY TRUTH about this cafe!! BEWARE!
shocking but true
well bros and sisters as you know churchill is a famous age old place and we all love it. HOWEVER the food is going wrong unfortunately. the pasta is full of cheese and strangely enough the limon mushroom's creamy sauce is too similar to the sauce used in the cheese pasta. desserts are also overhyped and not at all fresh....the chocolate cake was so sad that i had to make up for it by having cheesecake at wich latte next door...
Somethings not right
I had an average experience at Churchill which used to be one of my favourites at one time. The Hungarian Goulash was sooo disappointing and so were the desserts - dry brownie, bitter kahlua torte and bland lemon cheesecake! the only good thing was the Prawns Shaslik. The Chicken A la King was passable. They still have amazing service, but wish the food could live up to it.
I never knew of this place until I was browsing through the causeway lane and I came across this place with a delightful menu listed outside . Considering I like to try new places I entered taking the risk as I didn't have a clue of what I was in for . But I'm glad I gave it a shot .
I ordered for a chicken burger , which was yummy ! Then I asked them to recommend me a starter as I wasn't really hungry to have something filling . So they suggested me the chicken fingers...and they were the best I've had till date .
I've been to this place ample of times ! Everything's just amazing . The pollo's are a must try ! I guess I've tried all on the list . And do try their lasagna ! Superb ! And the desserts are pretty decent too !

italian food pitstop
It one of the favourite hangouts for Italian food. Excellent pastas and the lasagne is to die for. Desserts are also nice. The service is slow, and I think that is because they know they are favoured. Seating is also limited, but one goes to eat, and nothing beats their food. And not heavy on the pocket either.
Best Quarter Pounder in Town but portion SIZE???
Whenever i think of burgers its always cafe churchill. They simply make the best quarter pounder burgers in town. The meat was juicy. The fries were great & so was the coleslaw. The burger tasted like some molten chocolate. Juicy & inviting to every bite. But whats with the size??? 2 months back i ate it, the size was filling & you didnt need more. This time around the burger was undersized. The bread has gone smaller & so has the patty. I rather prefer them charging me a few $ more than to have me left with a half filling experience. Almost feels like the 5 star dining experience. Please do something about your portion sizes. People who eat burgers do not have a ladys appetite. 4 on 5 for this. The one star lost is just because of the minuscule sized portions.
Brilliany, for the price
Churchill and Mocambo's, are owned by the same gentleman (he told me this). They both have great food. If you are polite, they also, do things, off the menu, as well. Also, the food is superb. And, well priced. Don't know authentic it is, but, its great. And, the variety of food and desserts is simply superb.
If you are a foodie, a visit to Cafe Churchill is a must! I can't even begin to describe the wide range and the deliciousness of its food...
Must try - Cream of Mushroom soup, garlic bread with cheese, lasagna, steak, pasta, roast chicken, sandwiches, chocolate gooey cake... well, everything is a must try here! Long Live Cafe Churchill!! :)
Lovely little place ...
Have been in Mumbai for 3 1/2 years and been to all kinds of joints ... don't know how I missed this place !! For someone who loves conti food (esp beef), its a delightful lil place that doesnt hurt the wallet as well.
Had 4 starters (fish n chips & garlic bread), 4 main course incl. Hungarian Goulash, Beef Steak etc. and everything was just perfect !! Only thing was that they should serve the lamb and other dishes with bread as the juice gets wasted otherwise.
Enjoyed it thoroughly ... will be back for more. Just 1700 damages for 4 adults (no drinks)

I remember Churchill for its burgers and sandwiches since ages. But with Wich latte right next door and many others competing with equally good fare, better service and ambience, these guys need to pull up their socks or else they are gonna loose business pretty fast. The quarter pounder has lost its zing though the Chicken Grilled is damn neat even now. The Sausage in Zingy sauce is really awesome. Wish they would just take their establishment more seriously...I mean the staff.
The waiters are crooks!
We are regulars at Cafe Churchill & have never had to complain about the food. However, the waiters are a crooked lot.
Beware when they give you a hand-written bill because that means they are pocketing the cash themselves. Insist on a computerized bill. This especially happens when the old Parsi lady is at the cash counter. You might think, 'Oh, this doesn't affect me', but think of the losses this quaint establishment is making because of these waiters.
Please keep an eye out for this & inform the owner if it happens to you.
Had gone for dinner and ordered for a Chicken Sandwich and Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken.... the pasta dish smelled and tasted stale. On complaining to the waiter ...he went to the kitchen and returned the food back with a stupid explanation that the smell was due to the egg added to it. We returned it however we were charged for smelling STALE food. Overall had a bad experience and have a stomach upset as well. I WILL NEVER EVER STEP INTO THIS PLACE AGAIN.
Would agree with most of the reviews on this one. Churchill is a great place with a great sense of culinary style. The feeling is distinctly one of being cramped in an attic but when there is food in front of you you wouldn't care. I have been here several times and apart from the guilty feeling of denying others (the ones waiting outside to get in) their bite, the experience is just about perfect.
Just look and dig into ur plate.
No matter which day u go and what ever time...chances are ull be in the waiting.. and unfortunately at the pavement of the Causeway. The seating are is that small!! Tables are stuck to each other and lightings and services are just okkk. But who cares! If u crave European food Cafe Churchill is the place to head to. Dont look around and dont venture in if ure claustrophobic!

I would insist on calling it a coffee house (Whats the deal? It is a cafe afterall. But wait. It serves awesome food that can put restaurants to shame.).
Ambience: It can seat no more than 20 people at a time and you would see this mostly full unless its a drizzling Wednesday around 5ish in the evening. Service is neither nothing to boast about and nothing to frown on.
Food: This is where it gets it 5 stars from. We ordered an Irish Bailey cake and Brandy one too start with and they were yummy. Top it off later with an espresso coffee, the 'best' ever Chicken Fingers and Lemon Ice Tea. The Chicken Fingers are served along with French fries and Salsa on the side and it awesome. My girlfriend liked the cake so much that she decided to take 5 of the other varieties home for her family.
Pricing: Those cakes are definitely very expensive but every bit worth of what they are. My mathematics say that they average Rs 80 a piece.
Verdict: Its a good place to grab a quick bite and if you are around Colaba Causeway. If its full, then you can always walk to Wich Latte which has exceptional coffees.
Worth the wait! Or is it?
If you want to begin your dinner at 8.30 on a 'lazy' Saturday evening, get here before 8pm. The place is rather small at best seating for 20 people.
But the food here is amazing, definitely worth the 30 mins-45 mins you need to wait.
Unfortunately, there is quite a huge list to choose from, and if you have company of 'em indecisive folks. Best of luck to you.
Try the lasagna though.
And another thing, the food here will make you loose weight, in the wallet that is.
Excellent food and Value for money
I have been to Churchill on many occasions. Although it lacks space, it more than makes up for it with its fantastic food. According to me it has one of the best Italian food I've ever tasted. If you are a non - vegetarian and would like to try the Italian cuisine, Churchill is the place to go.
The Smoked chicken and bacon lasagna is truly amazing, as are all the other pastas, and the quantity is great. The desserts were really nice, making it a wonderful meal.
Churchill could definitely improve as far as its service goes. Also it takes a little too long for orders to arrive. The servers are polite and cordial.
They really need to think about expanding, both, in terms of size of the original restaurant and branches, as it becomes really difficult for people from suburbs to travel all the way to Colaba!
They desperately need to implement a washroom! (Where do we go when nature calls??)
According to me food is the one thing Churchill has got going for them and based only on that, I'm giving them 4/5. Although its not going too far to say that it is a very decent place with great value for money.

Had heard a lot about this quaint cafe. Did not live up to the expectations. You cannot use low budget as an excuse for unhygenic. Tables, plates, glasses were filthy.
Average fare from all over the place, hamburgers, club sandwhiches, lasagna and pasta, middle eastern lamb and Tandoori chicken sandwhiches. Everything average with the potential to be so much tastier if a little more care was taken. Would not return for food.
The place is nothing much, a small cafe, but you have to know that going in. So can't really complain. But cleanliness is a must and that's where this place looses out.
Waiters are trying to rotate tables so tend to hurry you a little. All in all ok. Our waiter insisted that the red garlic sauce he served us was tartar sauce :) . Enough said.
Point to note - Chop N Chop dish - is your chicken parmesan with indian masala. Pretty tasty.
This cafe shud be visited before 1 pm cos aft which u'll jus b standing in que. Theres so much to order that u r left confused. Tried the non veg lasagne it was filled wid yummy chicken, bacon & cheese. orderd for coronation lamb....wid white sauce, mash potato. It was bland so dint really enjoy it. Chicken volastana was yummy so was chicken baked wid bacon. U mus try their garlic bread....very soft n yummy.
for deserts try the kalhua cake,simply sinful n chocolaty.

Food: The food here is mostly contienental. They have a lot of meat nd some stuff with bacon which is good. they have some really nice pastas which are definitly worth a try. besides their normal menu on the wall they also keep having specials which are good too nd really allow you to experiment. the food is rich and the servings are quite large. They also have some good deserts nd i come here to have baileys cream cake after basilico discontinued it.
Service: The waiters are polite though the food does take some time to come. its a pity they dont accept credit or debit cards though.
Ambience: The place has pictures of winston churchill hanging everywhere. The place is cramped. They definitly need to expand. The decor isnt anything great though ur not uncomfortable either. Churchill is extremely popular nd due to the small space inside you often have to wait for a seat. Lets hope they decide to expand soon
Conclusion: This place is very popular amongst youngsters because of its food. Its a nice place to chill in Colabaa though it would become a lot mroe comfy if they expanded.
Great Continental Grub
I've visited Churchill many many times (wonder why it's called Churchill?) and have rarely come out disappointed. This little blink-and-you-miss-it hole in the wall restaurant on Colaba Causeway is almost always full, a testament to the yummy grub it dishes out; in fact, it's so popular with locals and foreigners alike, on one occasion we didn't get a table to ourselves and had to share with other customers even at 11.30 p.m.!
They have absolutely G*R*R*E*A*T pastas, pizzas, burgers, garlic bread, chilli cheese toast and chips. Do try their chef's specials, which are announced by laminated posters put up on the cheerfully yellow walls, with good 'ol Winnie frowning down on the diners. Main course servings are decent. Desserts are great too, though dessert servings are quite small.
The great food more than makes up for their indifferent service and cramped seating. My biggest grouse is that they do not accept credit cards.
Two of my favourites are the Egg-o-Mania sandwich and Chicken Valdostana, though this is one of those restaurants where you can blindly choose anything and expect it to taste very good.
Consistent, Cheesy & Continental
what can u say about this place that hasn't been said before. A compact & cosy place to chill out with friends & family & focus on FOOD,FOOD & MORE FOOD ...be it the garlic bread or the bakes or the fish or the pasta....Consistent, cheesy & continental.
You can't wait to get to the sinful desserts [which over the years have reduced in size...half of what they used to be & increased in price] at the end of your satisfying meal.
The icing on the cake....the prices that surprise you given the quality of the food served....best value for money in colaba for continental food that is as good or maybe even better as that which is served at other high-class restaurants in mumbai.
the dvd guy outside the door, iqbal, selling dvds for Rs 70 each is another reason to return to this place repeatedly.
Cosy, delightful and reasonable
It's easy to miss Churchill tucked away in Colaba. But if you've eaten there once, you'll yearn to go back again and again. Amazing pastas, pollo's and steaks with some finger licking desserts ( the blueberry cheescake in particular) make this one of my fave dine out places. If you are heading there on a weekend though, be prepared to wait for 15-20 minutes. A meal at this place for 2 - including lemonade, starters, a main course each and dessert will set you back by 700 odd rupees. Worth every bit!
A good sandwich joint in Colaba - thats what I would say of Cafe Churchill. Basically both of us were hungry and this friend of mine suggested sandwitches at Churchill. I had heard about this place earlier but never visited it.
The place is very compact and when we entered it was full. Luckily we managed to get a table. But surprisingly, it was quite quiet, I mean I thought it will be very noisy going by the way its done up.
I ordered Egg-o-mania and my friend ordered some Chicken sandwich....and they were just yummy.
Though the service was quite slow, but the taste of the food made up more than enough for it!
Nothing beats ol' Churchill
The best!!! Churchill is probably as old as Bombay city. Its this inconspicuous little restaurant on Colaba Causeway that can easily be missed. There is absolutely nothing in this dingy whole in the wall that will make you want to stay. But don't misjudge this place by its appearance. Trust me, every single item on the menu is worth trying. They have the best steaks too. My favorite is their Chicken soup with rosemary.
