Fun Tex-mex restaurant
I love Powai and more so Chilli's. Its a place we friends decide going to without second thoughts. We have always had a good time here, diving into their Nachos, quesadillas, pizzas and burritos. The service is a problem area, however we are always so enraptured by our girly talks that we fail to realize the slow service time. You get a heady mix of people coming here, from groups of friends, to families to office going crowd. A definite thumbs up from me. Prices are a little on the expensive side.
good food but average service..
My husband and I headed out for a dinner date to Powai. Now Powai has tons of places to dine out at, but Chillis caught our musing. Weve read mixed reviews about the place, so decided to try it out ourselves...
We entered at 8 pm on a Friday evening and couldnt find a seat in the house. So we headed to the bar table, and ordered us some drinks, pint of beer and the long island tea which you can give a miss, with an overdose of lemon in it, my idea of a delicious long island was completely ruined. The food took ages to make it and the service was pretty slow. But, the staff was very friendly and apologised for delays.
However, the food is delicious! We ordered the quesadillas and the grilled tenderloin. The quesadillas are accompanied by some lovely sour cream, which makes the dish really really filling! However, the tenderloin could do better. The marination was bland and being beef one needs to be careful with the marinade. The mushroom sauce accompanying it though was yumm.
Overall, we found the place a tad bit too pricey for a casual evening outing. The place is way too noisy, they can do with some crowd control too.
Sinful, junk....Comfort food
Chilis is an American chain of casual dining restaurants known for its tex-mex food and cocktails. They run over 1500 restaurants across the globe and have a presence in a few cities in the country. Chilis has been a brand I have patronized over the last 2 years for junk food, meaning cheesy, fried and humongous portions. The Chilis management may be upset to be attributed to junk, but trust me it is sinful food, food for celebration, food that gives you comfort. It is rich and I have never felt guilty after all my trips there. Frankly I had stopped ordering cocktails there after a couple of bad experiences but I was glad this visit happened. I was invited to experience the place and I could not deny the invite considering it was almost 6 months I had been there. It was Wednesday lunch time and the restaurant had a few tables, most of them seemed expats. Tucked in a heart of commercial space but at a stones throw from residential, one can find corporate clientele through the week and families thronging the place on weekends.
he beverage menu is a repertoire and you can easily spend a lot of time looking at their drinks selection, mostly mixed drinks. From Margaritas and its variants (their specialty) to classic cocktails, fruit coolers to shakes, ice teas to lemonades they serve it all. I ordered the Honey and Melon cooler (Rs 225) to begin and chased it with a Presidente Margarita (Rs 625), most preferred by patrons as I was told. The cooler was extremely refreshing; with the flavours, the sweet and the sour in balance. The Presidente was brought to the table in a shaker; it was shaken all the way from the bar till the table and strained into a glass with ice cubes. It was a classic with a twist of brandy and a citrusy punch. Both of these drinks came in really big glasses, you will skip a meal if you indulge in too many!!
Meat is an inherent and the popular part of the menu for all the carnivores, but gladly they have been paying enough if not equal attention to the herbivores too. In fact they are now trying to figure out if they can do something for the Jain diners. The menu has an option in every category, soup, salad, small plates, burgers, burritos, pasta, quesadillas and the popular Fajitas (make your own burrito at the table kinds)
I ordered a sampler of the veggie appetizers (Rs 495) to begin with. The Paneer Bite (battered and crumbed paneer) was good with the Bombay Chipotle sauce, the Southwestern rolls( fried tortilla rolls stuffed with bean and veggies) was lovely with the Bombay aioli, the Texas cheese poppers with the avocado ranch and lastly the fried Quesadillas went down smoothly as the melted cheese oozed out.
For the mains I ordered a Veg and Cheese quesadilla (Rs 375) and a Chipotle paneer burrito (Rs 325). The quesadillas were eight sumptuous quarters of goodness served with cilantro rice, beans, Pico de gallo and sour cream and the burrito a foot long full of beans, rice, paneer and veggies served with chips and dips. The former was super- duper rich and flavoursome with spinach and mushroom and the latter; wholesome and filling. The citrus in the Presidente kept cleansing my palate at regular intervals.
I couldnt imagine food at least for the next few hours after all that hogging, but there is always place for a dessert, I convince myself almost every time. The home made warm peach pudding was a winner, fresh and opulent, and the portion size was certainly for two and the Chocochip Paradise pie, a chocolate and walnut bar topped with fudge, caramel and vanilla ice-cream, with the sweet overdose it perhaps was meant for four.
A definite plus to one of its kind place in the city for casual American dining.

Rs 1200 (one each of starters, mains and dessert, more than enough for two people)
- Great Choice of drinks and food
- Big portions
- Happy hours 1600- 2000 hrs, making it perfect for after office drinks.
- Cocktails start at Rs 300 and they are very good for the price. One on One during happy hours
- Very expensive if you go alone, considering the portion size one can only manage to eat one course or waste a lot of food and pay a lot for more than one item.
- Service can be a bit choppy

Decent food.Poor service
Landed up at Chili's on a Saturday evening,was surprised to see the place so empty!
The ambiance of the place is real good.The menu looks real tempting,so let me get straight to the food and drinks.
Ordered Nachos.Though good,it was prepared with a bit too much of precision.No ooey-gooey cheese.And one jalapeno slice per tortilla chip.The sour cream,guacamole and salsa were good.
Triple Dipper was good.Nice chicken wings,perfect spice on the sauce.
Country Fried Calamari was the pick of the lot.Cooked nice and crispy,fresh meat and spicy dips.
The meat on the BBQ Ranch burger was too dry for my liking.
Citrus Fire Chicken & Shrimp fajitas was good as well,but too less in quantity.
For the drinks,Beer Rita,please give a a miss.All I could taste was ice-cubes and lemon.
No draught beer! I don't know how long this has been off,read a couple of other reviews stating the same.
Coming to the service,extremely pathetic.Killed the evening.Took forever for the servers to notice us,get our order right.And almost everytime we ended up reminding them about our pending orders.No one bothered clearing up the tables.Even for the payment to get over with,they took ages.
Overall,an average experience,could've been better,but for the service.
Prices weren't too expensive,considering the ambiance,and location.
PS : They accept meal coupons on the billing!
Cool place for a friday night
Had been there on a Friday night with couple of friends... The seating arrangement is decent enough,w e opted for chairs on the bar.
It was a right mix of good drinks & sound to lighten your mood. Food menu is quiet interesting & have multiple options.
The quantity of starters & main course are hugeeee.... which turns out to be a good value for money...
Nice Decent place.Must Try for Good and Different
Been there on sunday Dinner..Food was gud..different from what you have usually...Basically its a Mexican food Resto..We have ordered Mexican QQueeso which was really gud and diff...Also the waiters were helpful..We were not aware about happy hours timing over there still they themselves gave us a free drink even if were not expecting or asked for the same...So end in end it was a gud place to hang out and to try diff food than you usually have.

I've been here once before and I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Bad food, bad service and insanely overpriced
This time around it was completely different. We were seated immediately and the waiters handed us menus to all and deciding what to eat was not difficult
I ordered for their crispy nacho coated chicken with rice and it was really good. Tasted like KFC's fried chicken but even more crunchy skin! Their grilled chicken burger tasted as if it was burnt and was not worth the money. The tandoori chicken burger was average too. You should call for their Bottomless Toastada with salsa. Nacho chips with salsa dip - unlimited. Also their spinach queso dip with nacho chips was average. We called for the Evolution drink and also the Melon Honey Cooler. Too sweet and too sour respectively. But the size of the glass was HUGE! We found a piece of paper in the melon drink and the waiter offered to 'remove it' and then later offered to replace the drink. Both the times we denied
All in all, we paid 4k for a meal for 7 and the fried chicken was the highlight. Check the photos

Let me begin by saying that I terribly regret not having visited Chilis before. Its one of those few restaurants that score high on all three parameters food, service and ambience. It scores the highest on food making the long trek to Powai totally worthwhile. If youre looking for Tex-Mex cuisine in the city, this is a great option. Warning: Since they serve generous portions of food, its better you come in a group.
The ambience at Chilis is similar to that of TGIF. The restaurant is spacious and the atmosphere is fun, fuelled by good music and a crowd thats happily conversing, chomping on food, guzzling drinks thus, and generally having a good time. Chilis is styled like a diner with comfy seating (I SO dont miss chairs) and has colourful tiled-table tops. The bar area in the centre of the restaurant is very inviting with the bartender busy churning out drinks. Since its a very chilled-out atmosphere, the staff is not in a hurry to fetch your order and send you away, leaving customers ample time to indulge in conversations. Also, there are giant TV screens telecasting sports to keep you occupied, in case youre on a date that isnt exactly rocking!
The menu has a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. As for food, they serve appetisers (their biggest highlight), soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, Tex-Mex fare of quesadillas, tacos, fajitas, meat and seafood dishes and of course, desserts. We availed of their Happy Hours Buy one, get one free offer and ordered for a Mai Tai (Rs 350) made with rum, triple sec, pineapple, orange juice and grenadine. After a while (literally) our drinks arrived. Visually-speaking, they looked delicious and had a thirst-inducing effect on me. The Mai Tai had the right amount of alcohol, sweetness and ice i.e. a perfect concoction.
Now for the crunch time, literally! We waited impatiently for the Bottomless Tostada Chips (Rs 195), which had a generous portion of crunchy warm corn tostada chips along with a bowl of really good salsa. I began foodgasming at the first bite itself, as I relished the wholesome goodness of corn chips and bits of fresh garlic that gave the salsa a nice kick. We gobbled it up as fast as we could and asked for a refill. It couldnt have gotten any better.
Everything on the menu sounded and looked so enticing that we were unsure about what to order and what to skip. Finally, after some serious contemplation, discussion and debating the choices, we placed our order. I ordered the non-vegetarian Skillet Queso (Rs 195) which had a big portion of tostada chips and a skillet (frying pan) full of the most tantalising cheese sauce Ive ever had in my life. The buffalo mince added to the experience. I blushed at the quantity of the cheese sauce, which is enough for 2-3 people. As I excitedly dipped the tostada in the uber-cheesy sauce and ate it, my tastebuds began chorusing Hallelujah in praises of it. I was so intoxicated, I felt as if I were a flying toastada gliding over a sea of cheese sauce!
The Country Fried Calamari (Rs 325) had a heap of crispy fried squid rings, best described as deep fried goodness that came with two dipping sauces Chipotle Aioli and Creamy Cilantro dressing. Both the dipping sauces were equally good and a refreshing change from the standard tartar sauce, making the squid rings a unanimous hit with us.
The Monterey Chicken (Rs 415) had a breast of chicken with perfect grill marks topped with some barbeque sauce, cheese and fresh diced tomatoes. The chicken had a nice smoky flavour, cooked well yet maintaining a bit of juicy-ness in each bite. This is a rare feat as a majority of restaurants overcook chicken leaving it dry and chewy. Also, there was mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. But mind you, this was no ordinary mashed potato! Its the best weve had so far. I have a feeling its because the potatoes were baked rather than boiled, and thats probably what makes it so darned good. However, one glitch here twice, I found bits of potato skins in the mash. I left the steamed vegetables broccoli, carrot, yellow zucchini untouched.
The three of us were overwhelmed with our meal. We wanted to have the Molten Chocolate Cake for dessert but unfortunately, we were feeling mighty stuffed and didnt dare order it. Also, we ended up taking away doggy bags of the Calamari Rings and Skillet Queso.
The Tex-Mex grub at Chilis is no doubt lip-smacking but I guess its the atmosphere and the company that played a major role in making it a memorable experience. The prices are on the higher side with each of us having to shell out about Rs 700-725 per head. But the quality, portions and ambience of the place offered a sure-shot bang for our buck. Cant wait to go feast there again.
Highly recommended for American-Mexican foodies
My colleagues and I headed here yesterday for lunch. The food is amazing here. We had ordered for Classic Nachos, Garlic Bread, Texas Cheese Poppers, Chicken Wings and Blackened Fish. Each and every dish was yummy to the core. Their garlic bread is one of the best that I've ever had. Also, the fish just melted in your mouth - it was THAT delicious. Oh, and a special mention goes out to the Non-Alcoholic Margarita that was zesty and lip-smacking good. Loved their choice of music. Overall, we had a really good time and were stuffed by the time we were done. I look forward to visiting again.
I would absolutely recommend this place to everybody.
Friday hangout with friends
This restaurant is perfect to relieve that stress from the work on a friday. Very soothing and laid back environment. The staff is courteous and attentive. Decor is bright and makes the mood better after hours of hectic work.
Coming to the food. Their menu has a lot of options for non veg people, but is restrictive for the veg people. A combination of American and Tex- mex cuisine, their flavor are not very over powering.
One of the best place to go and unwind with a couple of friends.
Ok Ok but a overpriced
Been here a few times now... its Good..
The food is good a bit overpriced...which is the case of most restaurants.. with inflation sky rocketing.. There are so many taxes i didn't even know about...
One problem though was with the Steak they serve. The knives and forks they have and expect you to cut the steak with seems more like butter knives and low quality forks.. which is a real pain in the neck.. .. Changed the knives a few times and yet not sharp enough, as I said more like butter knives.
I think if their charges are on the higher side they could afford a better set of knives and forks..
They have a smoking area which is very rare to find these days.. :)
Worst experience ever in my life .... cheats
I guess the whole staff is dedicated to cheating people. my bill came upto 2600 bucks n i payed 3000 bucks made up of 6 x 500 rupee notes, the waiter comes back afta some time telling me that there is 500 bucks less, so i pay up, later to confirm i jus checked my wallet i realized that i had payed him 3000 properly in d start itself, so i call the waiter and the manager and they all are convincing me that i only paid them 2500 in the start. And like in the previous review ( crooks) they offered me dat they will check CCTV footage but later and will contact me if they find anything wrong ... now what do u expect dat some gang of cheats gona b sincere ? i jus said fuck it and left .... ambiance was good ... food was ok.... not a place i would recommend. Staff not at all friendly ... in their own world
So if you have a lot of money, and you wish to lose a few hundreds or thousands to cheats who trick you with fake notes, this is the place to go..they probably treat you with much lesser respect than they treat their bathroom cleaner's rat, but they will definitely give more priority to you when they want to lose their extra fake notes..and guess what, they will definitely not cooperate when you demand to show them CCTV footage to prove that they haven't given you fake notes..so basically, if you have had a great day and you are pent on spoiling it, then Chilies will definitely live up to it..
Best Place in Powai
Great Food (Yes - Great), order anything and you will not be disappointed. Have been there 4 -5 times and always loved it. Cocktails may not be good but if you stick to Beer hard liqour, etc you would love it. Place is always Full Weekdays / Weekends and no surprise why........ Mumbai Needs more Chilis.
Pull up ure socks,,, pathetic
Been a chilis fan ever since I have been to Dubai outlet..., and years back was thrilled to try the new one at mumbai... Sadly none of the visits later did any better to upgrade my experience... Todays lunch,,,, completely disappointed. Delayed service, no water to drink unless asked for, just one tissue to wipe ure hands until u ask for more.. Bread of the burger old n smelly, stale oil smell in the food, salad comes laced with carrots obviously cause the owners r interested in saving money by not buying brocollis I guess.... Hate my meal being so average... Unless u guys pull up ure socks,,, trust me many like me would not ever come back
Unfortunately the staff here has too much of an attitude. Sorry to say, but they may not be in a situation to afford a beer here at their own cost, but the attitude they serve their customers with as if we customers are beggers in this place and we have come here as part of a charity. They do a BIG favour on us when they serve you (if they do decide to attend to your table after 100 pleads). It has created a horrible impression about Chillis - washed out all the good memories I had when I was in the US about this place. So much, that I may never visit any of their outlet in the world!!! Awaiting their SHUT DOWN at the earliest so we have a better option.

Great review and news, very helpful indeed. I have been wanting to be there , now of course i would not. This is NOT the only place to go to, there are dozens of other outlets in powai, and I know for sure they are much better. leave them alone !!!!!! Come back after they are shut and we have a new eatery in place. God bless you chili's grill powai.
VERY BAD FOOD AND SERVICE
Salsas are watery(tastes like tomato water+salt) , soups are cold (ask them to reheat and it takes 15mins and it loses all its freshness), takes a minimum of 30minutes for each dish you order. The Quesedillas fall apart and are served cold. The waiters are never around, they just keep watching the television screens. The manager never shows up. The Jambalya is extremely salty. In the Red Chilli Pesto Pasta you can taste raw chilli powder. ALL IN ALL, THE WORST OF THE CHILI'S I've ever visited. I am no food master, but I've visited Chili's a few places around the world to know the difference. It used to be one of my favourite places until I visited their POWAI branch. Best part is, no one gives a damn about the customer experience. Save yourselves the same embarrasment I had with my guests, go to some other TEX-MEX/AMERICAN joint.
We were 5 people and had dinner out recently, Bill was apx 2.5k and we ended up paying 800Rs. Tax.
They charge 3 diff Tax.
1. Service Charge 12%
2. Service Tax (apprx.3-5%)
3. Vat (12.5%).
If you actually look at the Tax we paid was 28.2% on total bill which is even greater than I pay for alcohol in any nice bar. :( not satisfied with this....
Well - my husband was there for dinner on a weekday nite - but amongst 3 people they could not finish the food so got home a doggy bag. So this review is purely on the taste, quality of food. Am told the ambience, music, presentation of food, portions all were good. Infact large portions were the reason I got to taste this food...so its great.
The Mushroom Quesadilla was simply super brilliant. The Pesto veg pasta with broccoli was amazing. So I am definitely going there for more soon...
If I cud rate this 10 out of 5 i would. - Simply the taste, texture, quality of food.
Good for a try
First Impressions: Ambience is good though the pricey menu is a bit heavy on the pocket. Good place to meet up for a chat.
What we ordered: Tomato Basil Pasta(Chicken), Chicken Tandoori Burger, Chicken Caesar salad and an Evolution(Virgin Margarita).
I had the Tandoori Burger, its a decent burger and its quite stable when you bite into it. The tandoori chicken flavour is very well balanced and there's a generous amount of fries to dig into as well.
I would want to come back to try the Chilli Cheese Fries next time..
uselessly extravagant for a common man
I ordered a beer and my friends fresh lime soda (fls). Beer was 170/- and the fls 160/-!!.. Could a damn limbupani be more pricier?!! Anyways other than 1200/- bloody tax (service tax vat) on a 3800/- bill, its not at all a gr8 place to be. Blah... Best dishes on the menu also turned out to be sad, basically its all tossed in some frikking sauce or mayo. Who pays for this shit!
recently i visited this restaurant and they took 200 rs. extra in the name of tax.My total bill was 640rs.....Tax amount I paid was 1.Service charge-76.88 rs. 2.Service Tax-22.00rs 3.VAT-92.00.....Guys dont you think so that they charge be more for the VAT.....When I calculate I found that the VAT which they charge me was not according to 12.5% but more than that
Good ambience, not so good food
Went for a saturday night dinner to Chilli Powai, I was impressed by the ambience and the place overall inside. The bar area was nice.
We orderd Fresh veg pasta and a triple combo started having cheese tortillas, fried paneer and cheese sticks. The food was good but considering the price at chillis, it tasted like average.
Great food - Huge portion sizes
Place brings back fond memories of our days in Chicago. Their staple tex-mex food is supplemented by some local variations. The tandoori chicken sandwich was juicy and quite delicious. It also has a kids menu - and my boys enjoyed their chicken strips from the same. Food is great and in its American glory - supersized.
Service is quick, and staff cheerful. Me and family will be back.
Ambeince nice but food is bad
i just been to chilis 2 days back.. the place and waiters were friendly and nice.. but the food was an utter disappointing.. because thats not how mexican food tastes like.. alcohol was slightly over priced but didnt mind it as it was happy hours.. the best part i liked about it was the smoking room.. overall experience is nice EXCEPT FOR THE FOOD WHICH IS UTTER CRAP..
Larger then Life
Just back from what seemed like an eternity from Chili's. But that was not the worst part, the worst part was the food. From the onset it looked like an American Restaurant with some kick azz menu. To my disappointment the menu was strictly limited. There was not much to chose from. The Fresh lime was stricktly ok and i feel our udpi restaurant serves much more refreshing drink then that. The starters were some fried chicken with some badly applied batter. Tasted awefull. Had to gulp them down with my Fresh lime. As the menu was limited ordered for a Sandwich but to my horror, I got a Big Pattice of Fried Chicked between buns. I had to aske my boys if I had ordered a burger or a sandwich. I thought lets give it try but trust me, never have eaten a fried chicken which was not cooked at all also bland. Though i may be writing quick, the service at this place was not. Had great expectations from this place but when I came out of the place, disappointed and frustrated. For 3 people the bill was 2500 + vat + taxes. I am sure if I had visited KFC I would have been much satisfied minus the hole in my pocket.

Good food but..
I visited this restaurant for lunch on a weekday when it was just opening for the day.When I viewed the menu card,the prices were on the higher side.I ordered a soup for the day which was mushroom and when ordered with starters it would cost Rs 80 for a cup.I really liked this concept which makes it easy to just order a soup enough to satisfy the urge of having one where the portion is not very large.
The soup was fresh and creamy with the right consistency and the ingredients used were fresh too.It was subtly spiced as continental food should be...Hats off to the chef..
I went on to order the tortillas with cheesy dip which was yummy and it was quite a panful of dip and the portion was good enough for 3.All in all perfect flavour to the cheese( although I could have liked more salt).
The downside was that there was a service tax and a service charge already added to the bill which was that I paid more than a hundred bucks just for these..Please guys,this isn't USA where its 20 percent of the bill amount that people shell out.In India we have to tolerate shoddy service where paying such an exhorbitant sum is a sin.
Before paying those service charge of yours,I would want a written agreement that your service is perfect at any given time which I think isn't feasible.
I would recommend this place for drinks and dinner and a place for friends to hang out.2 less stars for the service charge which doesn't make this place a value for money..

Youre sure to get unadulterated authentic American cuisine even If the outlet is in India. For all the Americans in India, Chilis at Powai, Hiranandani is sure to satiate your palate and calm your cravings for Native American food.
Chili's has a margarita bar counter which is elevated at a platform with blues lights around. Theres television at all the corners of the resto for your entertainment. There are framed pictures of different sports teams. The walls and furniture are all in red color keeping the red chilli theme in mind.
Let me begin to elucidate the high on calorie and rich in taste and flavor that Chilis has to offer. Crispy honey-chipotle chicken crispers costing Rs.355 has a brilliant flavor where the medium sized chicken pieces are tossed in honey-chipotle sauce which is a sweet and hot sauce, served with boiled sweet corn on the cob including home style fries along with ranch dressing (white dip sauce). Blackened Fish costs Rs.355 is a nicely grilled white salmon with garlic and herbs which is neither too spicy nor too bland. It is served with pulav rice, steamed broccoli and rajma gravy. Chicken crispers costs Rs.325 consists of long finger shaped chicken pieces with a crispy outer layer. It is served with boiled sweet corn on the cob, home style fries and honey-mustard dressing (dip sauce), and the taste is pretty similar to KFCs chicken.
Next on my table arrived the dish recommended by my waiter which is Texas cheese fries with chili costing Rs. 255. The presentation is more or less similar to a sizzler which is moderately spiced long chicken pieces, French fries with thick cheese holding the dish together topped with chili, jalapeños and green onions finished with apple wood smoked bacon served with ranch dressing; its stomach filling!
If youre an American reading this, your penchants for avocado sauce will certainly please your palate. Okay! Let me indianize it and christen it as avocado chutney. For an American to get avocado chutney in India is like enlivening strains of native home food. Avocado chutney is made of smashed avocado with onions and tomatoes; its got a saladish taste.
Finally, the best way to end your meal is to dive your taste buds into the delectable Molten Chocolate Lava costing Rs.225. Its a hard chocolate shell (cake) at the base which is hollow inside filled with hot molten chocolate. At the crown of the cake is a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce over it. I must mention, the hot molten chocolate and cold ice cream is a mesmerizing combo, truly hypnotizing! Youre missing something if you dont try this dessert.
The service is good. Though the prices are on a higher side youre sure to get your moneys worth. For all my Indian readers, I highly recommend this place; go treat yourself into a viand of delicious American food. Burrp! Sorry ?

Nice Place - Typical American Style
Back in US Chillis was one of the favourite eat-outs for my wife. So she had been bugging me for quite some days and we finally landed up here on a Saturday night. The layout is that of a typical American Diner - a tradition that Chillis has well maintained over the years. They have a moderate selection of platters and a good selection of spirits.
The food and drinks that we ordered were pretty good to taste, but the portions were small and so it seemed pricey [ended up spending 2200/- for a diner for 2].
The overall ambience is nice - they have a separate smoking room within their premises fitted with a 42" LCD. The "Margaritta Bar" is also pretty cool.
For a Saturday late night - 11:00 PM - apart from us and two other families, this place was filled with foreigners.
Table Service is good and the overall experience was good.
Do visit some time and figure things out for yourself.
Food has improved
I must say...the food has improved here....
When i last went....didn't like food much...
but since my other frndz wanted to try the place...went thr again....burgers are really good...
veggie pasta is good as compared to the paneer one and paneer sandwitch is really good...they grill the paneer first and do some different prepartion,,,,i like it...
the pepsi jar is unlimited so you can have as much as u want..
I'm going to keep this brief... this place is beyong aweful!
- Starters - we ordered some batter fried mushroom - they first served these huge mushrooms which when I cut into, I found to be frozen on the inside. Sent them back. They returned with some teeny tiny mushrooms with hardly any batter coating... the mushroom this time were not fully cooked but at least not frozen... We ended up only eating the slivers of batter and leaving the mushrooms
- Ketchup - the bottle of ketchup on my table seemed new... i tried to open it and it opened with a loud pop spilling ketchup all over my hands... few whisps of smoke also came out of the bottle and it smelt bad... so I told the waiter who refused to believ me... I then poured some on my plate and it started bubbling... so disgusting!!! the waiter kept arguing and showing me the expiry date on the bottle...!! what god-aweful service!!!
- the burgers - the bun was huge (you can tell a cheap place from a good one from their bread to patty ratio- this place was obviously very very cheap!) and crumbled on touch... the saving grace was the chicken patty- very tasty and flavourful... I didnt need to dip into the bubbly ketchup :-) The veg burger my friend ordered was crumbly and the patty was cold and soggy... He left it half eaten...
I dont remember the bill but I do recall that it was over-priced and I was wincing while paying...
Never going back!!
Chillis Absolutely Shameless
There have been multiple American restaurant imports India. While some managed to get away with Indian-izing their typical offerings (Dominos, Pizzahut, Mc Donalds) others got away with serving the real deal with minor alterations (KFC, Hard Rock). And then there is Chillis
which falls under a whole new bracket. Let me give you few comparisons between the typical Chillis in American vs. the one in Powai:
For starters, Chillis in America is well known for providing cheap yet good food. Whereas the Chilliss at Powai serves expensive yet horrible food.
American Chillis goes big on portions; their typical portion of nachos is a BIG basket of crispy, light, perfectly salted nachos. The Chillis at Powai serves you exactly 12 pieces of nachos.
A typical burger at the American Chilli is about the size of a saucer plate and the height of a small tea cup (with most of that being the meat and not the bread). And the burger at Powai Chillis the less said the better (pun intended)
Even if I skip the comparisons, the food is horrible. Their chicken is dry and most definitely cheap and hence low on quality. Their ranch dressing is horrible, tastes like some crappy and cheap off the shelf dressing that most people would ignore at the super market. The Guacamole was brown in color and downright cold (this one I can overlook knowing how difficult it is to serve fresh guacamole all the time). The drinks required two reminders before the bartender mixed them up, only to have them sitting at the bar for another 20 minutes. We had to put in another reminder for the serves to get the drinks to our table. And after all tolerating all this, the exorbitant bill came up to over RS 4000! Thats for two starters, two drinks, two entrees/main course dishes, and one dessert. Remember Simon go back?? 62 years later its Chillis go back!

Food is decent but not out of world.Service is also very ordinary all and food is not at value for money.Bottomless drink wont be applicable for diet pepsi but price will be 5 times more than the MRP.Overall experince will be good only if you are accompanied by your friends.Food is avg so think twice before going .
Had been there as soon as they opened.
1) Food was not hot when served
2) They served Non-veg soup instead of Veg Soup, As I am non-veg n only that particular day i dnt eat NV i found the taste n the chicken and asked for a replacement, they initially were very certain it was veg soup, then later aplolgized for their mistake-so veg beware!!!
3) Zero Value for money - too expensive
Only the ambiance was good.
We ordered for some chicken stuff and it was not only oily but also extremely salty. We called the manager and told him that this dish is not edible. He said to get a new dish and to our horrific experience got the same result. We asked the manager to eat it and he said its that way only. Dunno how a normal human being can have such salty food. Ended up paying money for really bad food.
food okay; not worth the money
The restaurant does maintain some of its Tex-Mex specialties and does it quite decent, though on separate occasions I had to give the guacamole a miss and the burgers are a real disappointment. The fajitas and quesadillas are good, but what the hell is a pav-bhaji fajita?
If one does enjoy fish, their guiltless fish platter is worth a try. All chicken stuff is average. There has been one instance when the fries looked like pieces of charcoal, but apart from that fries are good - especially the Texas cheese fries are a real treat.
The price of the place is a major turn-off. I have been there three times and every time I had to pay more than what I had ever paid in the US, and not quite the same portions I must add. Overall, the place is good if you want to hang out once in a while and if your taste buds crave for some Tex-Mex. (2.5/5)
350 rs for nachos with very limited cheese ...a little too pricy one must say...the place is spacious ..staff is efficient..but the food is not such that can match the prices...the burger was ok ish but hrc burger is far better...500rs for a cocktail...too much again..good place but way too overpriced for me...
Getting closer to authentic Tex Mex style
Been to the place a few times now. The reason that got me there was my familiarity with the place from my stay in the US.
The decor and interiors are well done and similar to a Chili's anywhere in the world. Ambience is bright and cheerful, just what one needs on a Friday evening or after a hard day at work. Food is closer to the Tex-Mex style of Mexican with its variety, taste and aroma. Please order the house salsa - by far the most authentic stuff off the menu. Great selection of Margaritas, another Chili's signature item. Recommend getting in before 8pm to get half off deal on any day of the week.
And if spirits are soaring (literally) by the time you are done, suggest a walk around the block before driving back home.
Looks appealing, but disappointing
The place has this overall quite appealing look. I remember when it was under contruction, all of us were eagarly waiting for it to open...to visit.
Well entering the place, you feel good....nice look , music, margarita bar and all.....
but the staff messes up the orders completely. Take special care and remember to check for your orders....as nyone can come and ask for the order and later you will realize the order was not even placed.
It is prised high...and food is not that great also. Mexican food is available in a much better taste at other places.
They need to improve on the taste....
Place has a nice appeal...but just misses out on everything after that.
How to just mess it up
I read all reviews of chillis here - and realized none of the reviewers tried what I did. Is that the reason I've normally had good time at Chillis? Or is it just my friends? Anyway, here's the food I recommend at Chilis:
- Blackened fish with rice
- Fish and Shrimp with rice
- The prawn pasta
- Cajun chicken pasta
- Tandoori chicken with rice
- Tandoori Paneer with rice (I was told)
I've had these dishes at Chillis and they were quite good.
I agree with one of the reviewers that their 'bottomless' nachos are worthless sometimes. The nachos are third-rate to be precise - but if you complain, they make fresh ones that don't taste bitter, stale, and as if they were picked-up from trash types.
I would have given this place another star - but here are the deductions:
- Once the waiter cracked a really bad joke at my friend. Agreed he was trying to get last drop out of his dried-up humor well but he failed miserably and my friend was very offended.
- The atrocious bottomless nachos. I take their bottomlessness a crude joke that goes with shamelessness of Chillis management.
Having said that, people go to this place. I doubt if it's closing down soon. Such a shame.
Give this one a miss
The food is WAY overpriced and the service is just ok (I asked for some extra sauce and was served a watered down version of the original sauce which itself tasted like it came from a bottle)! Rs 2000 for a family of 4 without drinks is ridiculous - I can eat at Mainland China for 65% of this price at a much better ambience and have a couple of beers to boot!
Nothing to miss
While the menu and ambiance is alright, and might I add, the staff is quite well trained and friendly too, the food here is completely avoidable. Vegetables are dry and stale, dressing are scarce and the flavour is somehow just not right. I've had much better Quesadillas and also Nachos.
I was here to enjoy a quiet lunch (groan).
1) Very Noisy - Given it was a Sunday afternoon, but surely the staff can ask a particularly rowdy table to politely pipe down!
2) Service was attentive and efficient.
3) Classic Nachos - Either the Nachos were stale or they were sitting on the kitchen pass too long.
4) Chicken Wings - Too spicy, one could only taste the marinade / sauce. The meat flavour was completely overpowered.
5) Quesadillas - Service forgot the Guacamole, which came later although I wish it had not. Rice was lumpy, maybe from the Christmas Buffet. Refried beans were more Rajma than anything closely Mexican.
6) Hint for the Management - I know you guys are an International chain but sour cream, deep fried stuff and tomato salsa with everything do not a Tex Mex restaurant make! As long as you serve people who do not know any better, you might scrape through. But an urgent kitchen upheaval is required.
Damage: 1700 - Will I go again, probably not!
Avoid Avoid Avoid!
This joint is like one of the regular american chain of restaurants ,which has just opened an outlet in India, without doing much Research and Development on what the a True blue Indian really requires on his platter. Too many cons follow this place as i review it. Well honestly, the interiors are well done, but then that doesn't compromise for the kind of food you serve,that too,by charging five to six times higher of what you actually deserve. The food is quite queer,and they justify by saying that 'It's an american eatery,and thus what they serve is precisely 'americanized' '. Honestly.I din't appreciate the food at all.The cheese they used was quite peculiar and the portions for the dish weren't that great either. In fact,it was horrendous.This joint is sure to go down,as the general Indian crowd has no room for gibberish charged at five to six times the price they should be actually be taking. We had placed the order for the following :
1) Chicken platter - 6 to 7 Pieces of chicken wings,each of it being prepared in different manner. This dish stood out from the rest of the jabber they served. It was strictly ok. Most of the dish consisted of the batter with hardly any chicken coming into existence.
2) Nachos with cheese sauce : This was awful. The nachos were the worst I have ever tasted. The Nachos were soggy with the worst tasting cheese topped over the Nachos. In fact,it was so bad,that it took me a while to muster the gumption to order another dish of Nachos in any other restaurant without the taste of this dish being engraved in my taste buds and they charged a good whole Rs 300 for it. We had to struggle to finish it.
3)Chicken Roast steak : They charged Rs 350 for the smallest portion of chicken with some fried onions.The chicken was barbecued whereas it mentioned 'Roasted'. They sure are american,but fail to decipher basic English,despite it being the National Language.We were spellbound looking at the what they served us.
A bill of RS 2,000 followed,they included service charge being Rs 350 again and VAT separately ?Truly disappointing.
We felt totally duped of what they took from us for what kind of balderdash was served to us. Though we just live a few blocks away from this restaurant, this one wouldn't ever again be an option for us!
Hands down,Bad work Chilis, Hiranandani was expecting something much better from you guys. You guys are going to lose your existing and your prospective customers if you function this way.You have definitely made a long lasting impression which obviously is a negative one in the minds of many raving food-lovers,by customizing what exactly suits the needs of the customers who visit you,you still hold a chance.

Finally got an opportunity to visit this place
.(I was actually looking fwd to it as I had not gone through the burrp reviews?)
The first thing that strikes you is the ambiance which is pretty decent, now you can expect that when you are entering a new joint in the plush Hiranandani I particularly liked the bar at the center and thought it was a nice place to hang around with friends .
Luckily when we entered we didnt find much crowd , Gradually people started pouring in and the place was packed in no time(yes, it was a Sunday).
But the initial thoughts lasted only till I saw the menu .DAMN EXPENSIVE ..my thoughts of spending evenings with friends were cut short immediately But deep down I still had a feeling that the food must be damn good .cant spend 500 bucks for one shot.
There were two of us and we ordered for a Nachos & a Barbecue burger .both were pretty average in fact , bland. The burger was accompanied with roasted french-fries which I liked since it was not covered with a layer of oil (not that I am a health freak).
Service was average and the damage was 660 bucks .phewww I dont think its worth it. Even I was wondering the logic of charging VAT and service tax

Over priced...bad food
I ordered a pasta here...First it was served cold....then when we complained about it not tasting very good as there were cheese particles rather than a smooth cheese mix, the restaurant manager told us..."we cook it the American way"...When a friend confronted saying that they have had better pastas from Chilly's in the US...the admits...we have received many complaints about the pasta.
Heavily Priced, and I felt that the food was cooked in some diff kinda oil and tasted weird, and the cheese was not at all up to the mark. Although the ambience was good, its nt a place one would like to go often.
Bad Food, Overpriced ( I mean a glass of lemonade was Rs.160 + VAT + Service charge)..

Waste of Money, Bad Food & Drinks.
Chili's has been a favorite restaurant since my days in the US.
As someone has mentioned, the Soft drinks were out of fizz. seems they served from a 3 day old 1 litre bottle leftover in the fridge. and yes overpriced.
Was excited to have the Texas Cheese Fries, since it's my fav.
But it was something weird that i got. Chunky cheese, not properly melted, the fries were cold, and they put annoying rajma over the fries. i mean yuck!! why experiment ???? keep it simple as in the states. The manager needs to rethink everything.
The menu is seriously overpriced, i'd prefer Bombay Blue any given day.
Went there as we wanted to try something new. The alcohol seems to be over priced and the fizz seemed to be missing in all their areated drinks & soda.. they came back and told us that they did not have Diet Pepsi, nor did they have draught beer. One piece of advice, please check your bill, they billed us for the Diet Pepsi even though they did not serve it.
Food was quite good with good portions.
Overall feel that it was not worth it, service was ok (not worth the 12.5% that you are forced to pay for it as service charge in your bill)
All Chili, no spice!
Three of us decided to check it out tonight (Thu night). I'd already heard that they didn't serve beef in any form(big surprise!) so that wasn't a part of the "after-I-got-there" disappointment.
We enetered at around 8.30 pm and the place was fairly full. They have a bar where you can sit but it was going to be a no alcohol night so we chose a table instead. The hostess at the door was friendly enough and found us a table pretty soon. The decor was good. The music sucked. But you know, so far so good.
Menu looked ok. A tad disappointing in terms of choices. They offer bottomless fountain drinks. So one of my friends picked 7 Up. I picked the mango iced tea. And the third friend chose to drink his water. Wise decision. My iced tea SUCKED. Too much tea too little mango. When I asked them to "fix" it, it just got worse. My friend who ordered the 7 Up got soda instead. When questioned about it, the waiter took the drink back and came back saying their fountain device? wasn't working right now. It's a new restaurant for crying out loud! Anyway, with some intervention the supervisor got us some 7 Up from somewhere.
On to dinner, we ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich (burger), the Cajun club sandwich and the Ranch sandwich (burger). When the waiter got back with one of our orders and we asked him which one it was, his reply was "Chicken cheese burger". Oh that's nice except none of us ordered that? So we told him what we did order and the chicken cheese burger quickly became the chicken cajun burger. Amusing. All three orders came with a generous portion of fries. I would give the food a 3 out of 5. The cajun burger and club sandiwches were good. The ranch was a little dry for my liking. But it was huge so yeah. Pricing was ok I guess. Rs. 1300 for all this.
Overall, I really wish the staff knew their stuff better. Cool crowd except for the loser on the next table who kept staring and the kids with the balloons. Is it ok to have kids when there's a bar right there? I dunno. Also, they need better music!
The three of us went there for nostalgic reasons. Umm.
We should have probably lived with the memories in our head...I don't think I'm going back unless I really have to.
