Away from the bustle, a haven to nestle!

Me and my friend were hunting for something new to hang out at Bandra (W). While driving through the by-lanes of Bandra west, we halted by this curiosity arousing place! Very thoughtfully decorated from outside, it informs you through its walls- of what to expect inside to satisfy your taste buds(Read: they have written on their walls across the road-sandwiches, cakes etc). As we entered, a veil of peace and serenity engulfed us. The ambiance is very stylish with a very thoughtful play of white and black. Both the indoor and outdoor space lend a cozy feel. We ordered for a Chicken Club Sandwich, Baked Lemon Cheese Cake & Chocolate Mousse. The sandwich stuffed our tummies fully, with almost no space left for our desserts. After sometime we started gorging on our Baked Lemon Cheese Cake, and the first bite into the cake was heaven! It just made us close our eyes for a moment and relish the delicious cake. This was then followed by the Chocolate Mousse which was a complete value for money dish!
If you wish to tantalize your taste buds with some english style food, this is a place to be!

All in all:
Price: Rs.1000 for two people
Ambience: 5/5
Service:5/5
Food: 5/5

Minus Points:
Ideally, drinking water should not be charged for, it would be great if you could serve normal drinking water instead of the packaged bottles.

A must visit atleast once ! (We even got a discount voucher of Rs. 200 off to be redeemed on our next purchase of minimum Rs.1000)

Eat Round The Corner

Good, wholesome and healthy food, everything on the menu is great, the salads in particular. The menu and dishes are good in variety. There is the traditional American and British breakfast. Other than that also there are many more options in ala carte. And the dishes look very very yummy. Its surprising to see such a big menu for breakfast and all the dishes looking so yummy. I have to specially mention about the way they present their dishes which looks very appealing to all the customers.though not happy with.. though have issue with the quantity as the pricing is on higher side

PATHETIC

my experience in Eat Around the corner was so bad, that I don't have words to describe.Breakfast gets over at 11am,i went with a small kid at 10:50 and they refused to serve us breakfast. Finally when they gave us, there were no cutlery provided, no water served. Finally got so furious and called for the manager, he came and refused to listen and was so adamant that he said we are doing a favour by serving u breakfast beyond the service time.........................................I hate this place

Worst eating experience..!

Went to Eat around the corner yesterday .. Had a vry bad eating experience ... Vry vry limited food choice... Even salads had just 4 variety in veg n 4 in Non-veg. It's highly over priced . Suffering from loose motions after eating there. Go at your own risk. This was my last visit to EATC... Nerve gonna go there again.

Very good continental food and variety

I would highly recommend this place to go if you love continental food - with a touch Italian mood!!!

They have a small range but if you love nutrition and healthy food and want to a combination of salads, main course, a variety of desserts and self serve your options - just like Candies - then do go to this place. Its another busy outlet on weekends, so make sure you plan your visit in advance. Me & my wife often visit this place and thanks to my friend Sweta & Aditya who introduced me to this place!! :-)

lazy sunday's

Eat around the corner or just around the corner (as it I remember it) is just right for a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch.

For anyone who eats beef I would suggest their all beef burger (don’t forget to double your burger)
If you’re not a beef person I say their salads come a close second

Best Lunches!

A Bandra shopping trip is always incomplete without a visit to Eat Around The Corner. Formerly, Just Around The Corner, this quaint salad and dessert bar has a fantastic continental spread of sandwiches, croissants, pastas, pizzas and an exotic spread of wonderful calorific desserts! The carrot juice is the best I've had anywhere. Ideal for chilled out Saturday lunches.

Overrated red velvet cake

Being a dessert fan,i went to try the highly recommended red velvet cake (slice). It did not impress me.It was for some 240 bucks or so.A generous amount of cheese and more flavour might have helped save the cake!

.sure.should come soon for the lemon cheesecake!

So location, but for how long will that work?

So all the restaurant owners you would know of or read of would say...3 things work. Location, Location, Location. Well may be, but for how long? Whatever happened to service and food?

Yes so the constant stream of the linking road shoppers, weekend breakfast Bandra residents or the National, TSEC, MMK students to pass time. So that's location. And hence the pricing aswell. Just at the college student affordability range it may seem. But not quite.
Anyways whats up with the railing and people walking around like prisoners and the jailer will serve you. 'Do keep your distance from the cooking station'. Just feels like that. food just used to be much better. Do miss JATC.

Breakfast eggs are just allright. Sandwiches can be avoided. Pizza can be a positive surprise.

Its best that my review is not responded to by the machine like outsourced social media management co. Just does not work guys!

Service? what service?

Went here yesterday with my wife. The place looks well done up and has loads of mirrors and glass partitions. Makes the place look much bigger than what it actually is. It is a self-service and pay for what you eat. We ordered for a pizza, a salad and a chicken Junglee sandwich. The waiters did not even serve a glass of water to the tables. Ended up spending over 1500 bucks and was definitely not worth the money. Variety of desserts was huge but did not have a chance to try those out. Supposedly their cupcakes are good. The airconditioning was barely effective and the outside seating area looked nice, but very hot (thanks to Mumbai's humidity levels). Bathrooms were clean but were unisex (no separate washrooms for male and female customers)

Quirky Ambience, Freshest Produce, Delectable Food

By far the best food I've had in a looooooong time. They have some amazing deserts, the soup of the day is mild but flavourful, the breads are heavenly, a variety of salads & sandwiches. You will want to try everything at the same time!
The place is large with and has arrangements for large groups & well as couples who want some privacy. Very eclectic decor. All in all - we're definitely visiting this place again!!

Should be called "S**T around the corner"!

Just had a horrible experience at EATC (January 12 2013). We ordered an English Breakfast - and we were served stale hashbrowns, cold beans and a stale croissant. Then when we asked for a "black coffee with milk on the side" - we were served a tasteless americano. On protesting - they made us a coffee the way we wanted but charged us extra. Service - especially from the damager (sorry - manager) - Vinod was pathetic. I have a new name for this eatery - it should be called "S**t around the corner" .

To sum up - we will never return - and I urge anybody who wants a decent meal to do the same!

Good snackie place

Wouldn't choose this place for a heavy meal, as you get more of light fare. The salads are great, but too expensive for the portions.
The only thing that I found truly disappointing was the much hyped 'Fish n chips', the famous English staple diet. EATC has spoilt the notion of the dish. The fish is nothing to boast about, the portions too small, and the price enormous.
The ambience though is good, with spacious indoor and outdoor seating, and on a quiet Sunday afternoon, a good place to munch in,

Run by staff with no training in customer service

Went to Eat Around the Corner on a Sunday for brunch on recommendation of few friends. The place is well made, neat décor and good choice on the menu. Unfortunately sad to see this place run poorly.
We ordered American Breakfast and requested for one change instead of one of the items to substitute with another similar one and were surprised to see the way we were rudely told that “You cannot change anything. It’s already well thought packaged meal and we will not change anything. If you wish not to have a serving or two, it’s your choice.” We were disappointed as we are visiting first time and a request was rudely answered by their staff. And then the server behind the counter added “You can take it and don’t have it”. We were astonished by the attitude..he was suggesting us to take it for the heck of it as we are being charged for it and even if we do not eat it, we throw it down the drain and waste it and have no value for the food. We most certainly did not opt for this option. And when we raised this to the manager on the floor, we were again surprised as he told that that the server who dealt with us has been with them for 15+years so we should be considerate about that.
Considerate about poor service and wicked attitude of suggesting to waste food?
Our conclusion not to go here again, and not recommend this place for their poor service. Eat around the Corner is pricey, run by staff who have no training in basic customer service.

EATC is not as catchy as 'JATC'

The first time I visited this place was years ago when it was called JATC...very catchy! Happened to notice changed interiors and a new name sometime back and was keen to drop by for mmmm.....of course salad! It used to be a steal back then.

Slightly disappointed on my visit this time around.

The earlier space was cozy, however the present day European décor is classy. They have retained the taste of food but cut down a lot on options and portions.

So to begin with we had to try the salad - Non-veg Regular, which was fresh and yum! Next up in line were Smoked Chicken Sandwich (with apples...tried this combo for the first time and it worked well) and Pasta of the Day - Pasta in Pesto sauce (fairly good). I had desserts on my mind all through the meal and just when we were done with the main course, I picked up Chocolate Mousse, they also had Blueberry flavor but I decided to go conventional. It was the best of the items I had that evening. However, they don't boast off a great line up of desserts...No brownie point here!

Food was satisfying - Not too good, not too bad. Ditto for the ambiance. This place is mostly self-service. For the ambiance and the kind of crowd that turns up, they charge fine. We shelled out Rs 900, which is quite steep for the young college crowd, who I noticed weren't around.

Great food but a bit expensive

Loved the decor looks very clean and classy.Menu is also not very cluttered and very straight forward.I relished the chicken afghani sandwich. The chicken was really nice and juicy while the bread was fresh. The cheesecake was also very nice.Service was pretty good and would definitely go back for the food .This place does feel a bit expensive but the food is up to the mark.

tasty treats !

'just round the corner' or 'eat around the corner' whatever you call it, the food at this place has always been a treat for your mouth and your eyes. One walk down the deli and you are confused as ever. So many nice things to try. This place definitely deserves multiple visits to get a chance to taste all their dishes. Their salads and sandwiches are great and so are their desserts. A note for the management though, we were told that outside seating was 'self serviced' but we did notice one outside table being served by waiters. Must be someone important I guess :-)

A Definite try out even fo the budget concious

Im a sucker for salads, pastas and good pastries. If this describes you then this is a place you should definitely try out.
The place is beautiful but parking might be a problem. I'd suggest chuck your car. The complete white theme goes well with the place. The display of food is excellent and mouth watering.
Strawberry cheese cake- JUST WOOW!!!
Chocalate Pastry- Mouth Watering
Salad - Definitely a try
Pasta- just tell them what all you need in it and they make it beautifully.
I also saw a selection of sandwiches and burgers and iced drink's
Avg meal for 2 would be around 1000- 1500 if your a foodie. But they serve generous portions of all ..... i came out a very very satisfied customer

manger has bigger ego than the width of the place

eat around the corner used to be one of fav place bcoz of its wonderful ambience n food bt off late the service n staff are the most arrogant n disgusting experience ever!!! they hover around u till u order n even after u order!!! absolutely no sense of customer service they behaved so rude n d manager even asked to leave the place on the pretext of "rights to admission reserved" . he also says that in the absence if the owner he runs the place. so the manger must be single handedly be held responsible for the behavior of the staff. if the owner is reading this, Sir, i don't mind taking all your staff and giving them a refresher on how to wait tables. actually i don't think they have had any formal training in the first place, so this will be more a training than a re-training.
so in short any one who feels on top the world and want to be bought back to the arth, please go there, the manager will in all i his capacity make you feel like a absolutely unwanted person walking on the face of the earth .

Share:

Horrible Staff!

Nice ambience, the food is so so. You might want 2 try the place at least one but the staff here are the reason why u might not want to go there. Apart from 1 person who helped me out. (Really appreciate his help) the rest jus made me feel very unwanted. Even after telling them that I was waiting for a friend which was already irritating) I was forced to go buy somthing. Once my Friend arrived which was after nearly 1 hour the fan was swiched off. On inquireing about the fan I was told that they r doin somting about it. No one bothered / offered to move us to another table.

Even befor my friend could arrive I was presened a feedback form ( as to say fill this and leave). I filled alright . I'm sure it will be in the bin once the staff reads it. No one bothered to come appologise after reading. It just feels so horrible.

I was so hungury but could no eat in d heat. Hence left the place hungry. Its very shameful for a restaurant to have customers leave hungry when the sole reason of a restaurent is to serve food.

For an evening that could have been amazing it was an aweful experience.

Learn hospitality Guys!!

As said the ambiance is the only place worth in this restaurant..the food on the display looked sad it felt as if t was there since morning!! and the chef behind the salad counter named Vikas was the rudest chef I ever met in life. He tried serving me salad which was mixed pretty earlier was completely wilted.. and when I asked for fresh salad..he denied!! ad refused to make a new one!!!! I guess the management should get back to their hospitality basics and brush up their ethics!!!

Strictly Ok-ish...

A nice eatery tucked away in Bandra... The ambiance of the place is amazing with the new 'European' look and the pristine white interiors. The food is a tad over-priced but tastes good. The service could've been quicker though.

Not many options for vegetarians and being a hard-core veggie can sometimes suck in a place like Bombay. However, made the choice from the few options they had and called for A Margerita Pizza slice, Veggie Burger, Cheese Roll and Fries. The service was very slow and we had to wait for well over 15 minutes for the food to arrive (post which too the fries didn't come and the counter guy promised to send it to our seat as soon as they were ready. The pizza slice tasted good and was filling. The burger was strictly ok-ish and the quantity of fries was plain dismal for the price they charged. However, one bite of the perfectly fried juliennes and I forgot all my grudges. Perfectly crisp and fresh, the fries were yummy!

Thought off topping off the meal with the dessert... The desserts lining the counter looked extremely tempting and just called out to pick them up.. The one big fat fly that, however, reached the section before me and happily flit over everything made me re-consider my dessert plans... Hygiene might be a thing the owners could look into...

Food: 5/10

Great Place to Hangout. Lovely ambiance and crowd.

The new Ambiance makes u feel really fresh. very well done...

The omlettes, peach iced tea, salads, desserts are truly delectable.
Pastas are also pretty good but the sanwiches are pretty average.

Please go for a Sunday Brunch you will fall in love with the place.

Bit pricey, but the food is good.

Though I loved its previous avatar as Just around the Corner, the makeover is quite different.
Gone is the welcoming ambiance, and has been replaced with depressing white interiors.
The Pizza's are amazing, but the portions are stingy and pre-made. Its just re-warmed for you. How I miss the Pizzeria there.
The burgers and sandwiches are ok, with the option of using wheat based bread kind of welcoming.
The deserts are amazing, with the variety of options really really tempting.
Drinks are overpriced.

Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a light continental meal in a nice quiet place, without spending more than 1000 bucks for two.

Awful!!!

Went there last week with my office collegues. Its a complete mess. No service. Very costly. Found cockroaches in the pizzas kept on display, and I'm not joking. Only the ambience is a bit pleasant but nothing great. Its not at all a value for money place. I would suggest everyone to go anywhere else but here.

Abysmal!

Well when I saw the description of of EATC as moderately priced on burrp I was shocked. It is no where close to being moderately priced and I would say it is very expensive. I went there with a friend to just hang around in the evening and ordered the fruit cheesecake and apple pie with ice-cream. For drinks we had a cold coffee and cappuccino. Cold coffee tasted the same as I would make it at home. Nothing exceptional about it. And the desserts were strictly ok. Nothing out of this world that I would pay double the amount that I would generally pay for them at a less expensive bakery. Ambience is also mediocre and you would find the same kind of ambience in any other hang out joints. I had a terrible service as we had not even finished our food and a waiter came to us very angrily, interrupted our conversation and asked us if he could clear our table. Well there is food there isn't it! And I don't understand the 5rs they charged us for a charity. What charity and why? It is a small amount but I should still be told why he is deducting that amount. And if it supports a charity they should advertise about it at their restaurant. A really horrible experience and I could have had a sumptuous dinner for the amount that I paid there. Really burned a hole in my pocket. Never going back there and never recommending it to anyone.

A good experience

Me and a couple of friends went galavanting through bandra and stopped by EATC , I thought the food was brilliant and the service was even better . They had this feel about the place which made you feel right at home. The ambience was great . All in all it was a good way to spend a morning!!!!!!!

Too many flies and they dont care to do anything about it. The staff barring a few seem to be daft and slow in service.

Get in, forget ur in Mumbai, somehow stay in

That sums it all up for me. Just come and explore I wouldn't recommend breakfast but lunch/dinner is a win-win.

Had the Chicken Jungli sandwich which was alright (the filling was pre-made). The bread and the greens were phenomenal. The apple pie is alright, but the cheesecakes looked gorgeous. The burgers were being grilled and served sizzling, appetizing to infinity!

Am hungry now .....

Quick bite

I visited last thursday.had a pleasant experience.
the place looked chique and clean with the rennovation
ordered a small salad, watermelon juice and a grape cheesecake
the salad was tamarind chicken and tomato + mozarella

very refreshing and light

the watermelon juice - disappointing - no flavour - maybe they need to use better watermelon
the cheesecake to die for - just the type my mom makes - good enough for 2 but the greedy part of me got me eating it whole

A breakfast ruined

I love breakfasts and when the team decided to go for a breakfast for a treat I was more than happy. We chose EATC over Mocha Mojo which we deeply regret. The options were limited and what we got was absolutely unappetizing. I ordered an English breakfast and opted for sunny side up to be on the safer side (U can't really go wrong with that). Well, the baked beans were flavourless, tomatoes - very tiny, bread - not toasted properly and bacons were a challenge to our jaws. The earl grey tea was the only saving grace. Later we ordered a cheesecake which was hard and we had to force our forks to cut through it.

My breakfast was never this ruined.

Excellent breakfast

We were getting bored with breakfast joints in Bandra. The service seems to have gone down badly in Mocha Mojo, Saltwater is a little too expensive to be a regular hang-out and Candies is only good if you don't have a conscience about contributing towards Bombay's already huge landfill problem. So, we decided to try something new (somewhere I must say I wasn't so keen on trying as I felt its earlier incarnation JATC felt like a MacDonalds!) and were actually really very pleasantly surprised with. The cooked American breakfast at EOTC was great (but don't get me started about Bombay restaurants calling frankfurters sausages!) accompanied by a perfect cheese omelette. Alongside was a yoghurt and muesli pot, a plate of fruit, a great selection of breads to choose from and a good strong cappuccino. All that and smiling, efficient service. Will definitely be back!

Wasted Morning!

There are a bunch of good breakfast options in Bandra and yet we chose EATC (we are still kicking ourselves over this). Two options for non-vegetarians and one for pure vegetarians (read: those who don't eat even eggs). What was that one option? Choice of bread with either cut fruits or juice and some yogurt stuff. Like really??? Coming to the non-vegetarian options, you have a choice of American Breakfast or English Breakfast. Whatever the mix as in eggs, sausages, bacon, etc. IT WAS ALL COLD!!!! Yes, even the coffee we got was COLD and last I heard Cappuccino and Latte were hot beverages. The bacon was a cold strip of leather. Pancakes were strictly ok and thankfully freshly prepared... so hot. Eggs were... well eggs. Nothing exciting. But that's the point of having an English or American Breakfast where all the other accompaniments are supposed to add to the flavour. The mixed fruit cheesecake was as hard as stone and when we complained we got a lemon cheesecake which was soft but worse in taste.

As if this experience wasn't enough we decided to pack lunch as well. The food tasted ok... not bad but nothing great either. However, the portions were tiny. It almost felt like the generous JATC is now the miserly EATC.

Not a place I would visit again. Maybe EATC can take a cue from Mocha Mojo and Crepe Station when it comes to wholesome breakfasts.

Nip-n-Tuck(in)

Bombay’s restaurants much like it’s population are in perpetual state of flux. Restaurants get bought over, renamed, revamped and made-over to whet Bombay’s unending appetite for the ‘new and improved’. The case in point, the swanky white washed ‘Eat around the Corner’ that used to be ‘Just around the corner’. The name is definitely a downgrade, but the place has received some much needed nips-n-tucks which makes it once again youthful and perky.

There are certain nice touches to the eating experience, the service is quick, the salad bar has a fair variety and it is one of the only joints that has a much needed community table. (Which by the way is made from beautiful rough cut solid wood, very stylish ) The place wins points for having some great burgers and sandwiches, and a variety of bread options.

You will not be able to resist the desserts. They are strategically laid out right near the casheir’s end of the bar. All mouth-watering and decadent looking, they will call out to you. You would be foolish to resist. I’ve tried the Fruit tart, the Orange Yogurt, the New York Cheesecake, the Baked Lemon Cheesecake, the Blueberry&Chocolate Mousse, and the Chocolate Danish. Visit the place enough times to try out all. I’m about half way there. They’re good enough to feel no guilt, although a workout after always eases the conscience.

In all honestly, the place does feel a little bit over priced, and the pizzas were surprisingly bad. A place that offers such nice sandwiches and deserts must work on their coffees, which are pretty substandard. However, you can always wash the coffee down with dessert.

Cheerful

Went to this place after a long time and wasn't disappointed! ........ Caught up with my girlies out there and its an ideal place to chill out. The ambiance is quite vivacious and cheerful ..... And the food being quite savory and we being quite ravenous, enjoyed it even more!! Had the smoked grilled chicken sandwich and the burgers which were quite scrumptious. I wouldn't say the same for the pizzas though, which weren't what you call exceptional. However, the salads were quite a treat. Left after having a good time treating our taste buds, sure to bounce back sometime soon!!

Share:

What-a-burger!

You don't get 'em better than this. The grilled chicken is juicy and exactly what every burger should contain. I bet my money that you will never go to KFC or any other place to eat a burger. And while it may sound as if I am exaggerating when I go gaga about the French Fries. I mean how tough can it be to make French Fries. But it is only when you go here that you realize how they should be made and what you have been experiencing at most of the places are just inferior sliced and fried potatoes.

All the thumbs-up aside, I have to say that I do miss the ol' Just around the corner experience of stashing the plate with salad dressed with absolutely anything on the other side of the counter. But hey, it just means that now someone else should go ahead and copy the erstwhile salad-on-board concept.

The rechristened Eat around the corner absolutely rules. When will I find an excuse to go to Linking Road @ Bandra to run some errands? Soon.

Sometimes change isn't the best thing

The first thing that came to mind when you thought of JATC was a lazy, casual atmosphere, plates with huge piles of salads being carried around by everyone and a friendly, bright, open area to chill.
I was hoping that after a multi-month sabbatical from the place, I would feel as happy as I used to when I used to go there earlier. And how I was disappointed.

Well, the food- 2/5. In terms of quality/ taste, perhaps not very different, but the crazy prices seem totally unnecessary. Why should I pay 100 bucks for a brownie, when my fav Theobroma bakes fresh brownies at less prices?

The ambience- 2.5/5. This is a clear letdown. Inside, it may work absolutely perfectly for a Sushi joint/ an oriental place, but certainly not for a casual diner. Outside, they've got a good thing going, hence the slightly high score here.

The staff- 3.5/5. Not much to complain there, apart from the smug looks one got if you 'asked' anything out of the ordinary.

The atmosphere- 1.5/5. Drab, jaded music and hardly anyone in there at 8pm. The 2 points are for the good looking waterfallish installment outside.

Variety of food- 2/5. Whats the point without the salad bar? and I dont know if its just me, but all the food looked the same, sort of boring stuff, with a lot lesser variety than there used to be.

Maybe it'll take them a while to figure out that the equity they'd built up over the past few years for JATC has just evaporated, and they'll HAVE to make the place appear fresher, more friendly and more inviting for ALL kinds of crowd. When they eliminate certain sections of the crowd either by the enclosed set up, or the big burly guard at the entrance or by the gourmet restaurant expensive-ish feel to the interiors, or just by the same food packaged at higher prices, maybe they'll get started again.

Till then, I'd recommend anyone I know to not visit EATC.

The Sun is Shining!

Honestly, I never liked JATC (I visited the place all of two times) but Eat Around The Corner is a definitely better breakfast/brunch diner. The location is perfect. I don't think the wooden sliding doors to let you inside the charming cafe are snooty. Since there's plenty of place to sit and inside and outside, the diner doesn't lose its open-air ambience even while it's closed by walls and the only entry/exit (the wooden barricade). It's a great place for brunch especially when you're eating there on a sunny day. The weather lends to the charm of your meal. There were six of us and we chose a horseshoe-shaped table with comfortable seating.

I love the self-service section. It's very stream-lined, clean and lit brightly. The staff's helpful and after a couple of looks at the menu and prices, I opted for the ham and cheese melt (that came with a spread of honey mustard and Gouda cheese) in a baguette. Of course, I had to eat my sandwich with fries so I ordered some. My bill was Rs. 270. Not bad for what I'd heard about the pricey food at EATC! The ham-n-cheese sandwich was pretty okay - just that the mustard came on to my palate a little stronger than I expected.

Here's a tip: the food is pretty filling and don't over-order; make sure you go through the menu properly before deciding. I had to have an espresso shot (served in the cutest tea-cup) a while later to wake me up.

EXTRAS: My friends ate the citrus cake, that tasted as delicious as it looked, and a slice of blueberry cheesecake (the cream cheese was out of India for sure, if not out of this world).

Good food, but not too much variety

The restaurant has been completely redecorated, which is great! I had seen the place earlier, and this is significantly better; the spaces both inside and outside are excellent to enjoy the food and a good conversation.

On that note, the food itself is good. Though, you will be pressed for variety because they do not make custom sandwiches and the patron is limited to the options on the menu.

All in all, definitely worth a visit.

Name change due to Monty Python type conversations

Had a business meeting here today. Not exactly suited for a meeting, what with somewhat loud music and overenthusiastic air conditioning(it was friggin cold). The manager however was kind enough to give us a place outside which was calm(er).

Now, coming to the food, the menu seemed pretty long and tiresome to go through. So I chose the easiest thing and ordered a pepperoni pizza and California Cheesecake. The pizza was quite good and the pepperoni(god bless the pig) was excellent. The cheesecake on the other hand was quite rubbery and didn't go down well. My boss's spicy chicken wrap was quite c(w)rappy or so he says.
I might eat around the next corner the next time, but I'm tempted to go in to try out the smoked ham and pork and the million other things on the menu

Good Breakfast

The English Breakfast at EATC can by far be described as good.

The variety offered is good - your choice of eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns & soggy tomatoes.

The white interiors remind me of hospital, they definitely need to do some to change the color of the interiors - the white tables with numbers on them have to go.

The service with the food was prompt. However, it looks like the waiter forgot us after that. He forgot to get the beverages & we had to remind him to get it, he even forgot what the order was.

They need to have unlimited - orange juice & baked beans at least to boost the customer experience.

The best part is that they did not give me a bill after the order was placed & paid for.

Over, I would give it a 3/5 rating, the food is good, service & ambiance needs to improve.

Disappointing.

I've been going to JATC since I was a little girl. EATC, the new avatar, is just depressing. In an effort to push out those who would while away their time sitting with one drink at a table, EATC has become a sort of strict, rule-enforcing canteen.
I've also ordered from here, and while they are admirably punctual, the food doesn't cut it.
The sandwiches are not bad (try ham and cheese melt, or chicken barbecue) but the burgers were not worth it.

Good place

The classic water fountain outside with a courtyard look and feel and the sleek ambience inside is the combination that works for Eat around the corner. Enter inside and what waits for you is the haven of good food and sugary treats.
A narrow passage leads you to the ‘pick n choose’ food bar which segregates into soups, salads, pizzas, hot meals, sandwiches, desserts and beverages ending with the tilling counter.
A thin line of ‘gourmet’ exists in this place although it’s not there yet. The food- works for healthy eaters. The desserts – work for everyone.
My only disappointment – the quantity of the salad served.

To sum it up

PROS
• Salads/ Sandwiches made fast and fresh to order
• Good range of selection from the see through counter
• Good service

CONS
Standing in a que on Sunday’s can get to you

Check this place out, it’s worth a visit. And thank god its a “Eatery…not a coffee house!”

I liked the Jerked Chicken and Rice and the deserts weer to die for. The Salad was good but had too much mustard in it. The soup was good too...but deserts remain to be the best part :) Its a good place for the health conscious lot.

Miss the JATC

The Place:
Being a “once upon a time” regular at JATC(Just around the corner) , I was quite surprised and shocked to see this sudden change and conversion to EATC(Eat around the corner). This place has given everyone plenty of memories and suddenly it’s just gone..

It was quite startling to see the humungous barricade that has been built to cover the place/corner but yet there is a sign saying, EAT AROUND THE CORNER, Now Open! I really couldn’t figure out if that was a welcoming sign or not.

Now as you enter EATC, you are stopped by one of the managers and told that there is a minimum cover charge of Rs.250 per head and are given a card in hand. The second thing that really caught to my eye was a signboard that said “Eatery…not a coffee house!” As very clear as they could get that they are trying to filter the crowd and want the rowdy college going kids to stay away is simply too harsh and too much of a change for people to accept!

The outside seating has been done up really well, giving it a perfect al-fresco ambiance sans the “barricade”, along with the interiors of the place with the brightly lit up white walls for a New York Deli look and feel. I must say, overall the place has been renovated really beautifully that for a second you actually do not feel that you are in India and in the midst of the hustle bustle city of Mumbai.

After scrutinising the redone EATC, we finally decided to go ahead and place our order at the self service counter which led to the third most shocking/upsetting/slight anger feeling that the salad bar was gone! (Do note: JATC had the best salad bars in Mumbai and that is now discontinued!) After a minute session of remorse, I finally made up my mind with what I should be ordering.

The Food:
Amongst the 3 of us, here’s what we ordered: Falafel Wrap, Thai Veg Green Curry with Fried Rice & some stir-fried veggies, Chicken Yaki Tori with the same rice and veggies, a Strawberry milkshake, Iced lemon tea and lastly a Strawberry Cheesecake. The falafel wrap was very dry and filled with more lettuce than the falafels itself but with the extra tahini sauce given that sorted my problem. The Thai curry was delicious but slightly too thick and creamier, moving on to the Yaki Tori chicken which didn’t taste as fresh as it should’ve been and could probably be slightly more spicier rather than sweet.

As recommended by the guy behind the dessert counter, I ordered the strawberry cheesecake, which was the only most delicious thing we ate. The strawberries were fresh as ever; with the cheesecake that melted in your mouth but it tend to crumble apart a lot which shows that something was wrong with the consistency followed by the soggy base which was a slight put off when everything almost seemed perfect.

To end with, the food was highly average with nothing extraordinary to offer to ones taste buds. I really can’t say if I would be returning anytime soon, but I would definitely want to try out their breakfast items (Do note: JATC had really yummy pancakes, waffles and omelettes with regulars from the advertising, events and the media industries.)

Good Place!

When you enter this place, it cuts you out off the busy streets outside. The water fountain adds to the peace.
The look of the place is very contemporary(thanks to the recent renovation).
I went with friends around 1pm.
Had a Veg Reg. Salad, Veg rice with a dish, and a sandwich. Average Rs. 150 and A lil' more for Non-Veg.
The food quality rocks. The portion is just right. The deserts look fantastic.

I recommend this place if you dont mind spending on quality food.

Great decor

Well, i was a huge fan of JATC and used to frequent that place, to hang out, eat their famous salads and burgers. But was a bit skeptical about going to EATC, especially after reading the reviews of the place, which are ALL negative and have not been addressed by the EATC / Mars management, which reflects badly. So anyway, this morning i went there to try out their special breakfast menu, especially because they open at 7 am. the food was average, not great not bad. slightly overpriced, yes, but what took my breath away was the physical transformation of the space! it looks classy, beautiful, with glass work all over, and a different fountain structure in the corner, which drowns out the traffic noise. the long wooden table inside looks fab! the service was OK and the staff was polite, so i really didn't understand why they would be called 'high handed'. i will go back there, only to try out the burgers, just to check if i should remain faithful to EATC or not. overall a pleasant place to chill and have a meal (with your cup of coffee of course!)....

JATC - EATC. Why?!

I've been here 3 times since it became EATC. Ordered and parceled/taken away once but not anymore.

1. I was not shocked by the Rs. 250 per head rule because I had read about it online. We go in, order a regular - sized salad (Smoked Chicken and sun-dried tomatoes) which is good, not better than piling 3 types of non-veg salads, with **** loads of noodles, ice lettuce and then drowning it in thousand island sauce (mmmm) but good.
They have something called 'Hot Dishes' 2 veg and 2 non-veg, I got the fish. Hot dishes come with rice and mixed vegetables. The fish was cooked well but didn't taste so good.
Sandwich, my friend ordered a sandwich which was supposed to have basil pesto, instead she got mayo. The chef came out and explained that there's an error with the menu and blah blah blah.
Juice has gotten better, it is no longer 70% water that it was before and is now value for around Rs. 80?
Again, I wasn't shocked our bill was over Rs. 500. I beat the rule. :D

2. Was in the evening, they had tossed out the Rs. 250 rule which ticked a lot of people off, got a chicken hot dish with only the rice (guy was nice enough to give me more rice since i didn't want the veggies) Now I know this dish has tomatoes but I didn't expect it to be tangier than ketchup, I finished off the chicken and rice left the sauce.
My friend ordered a simple veggie sandwich in multi-grain bread which was good. I also ordered a veg burger, they gave me the option of the same multi-grain bread as the sandwiches and I got them to toast my burger too :p but as I was half way through the burger, DISASTER STRUCK! (Always wanted to use that phrase)
I found a 'HAIR' in my patty, it was gross.
I took my plate and showed it to the guy who sits behind the computers acting tough with his mustache and spectacles, I would like to add that I was very polite and spoke in a normal tone. He shows it to his colleagues and they all seem pretty cool with it, look at me like I screwed up something. And then the casual, "Can I get you another burger?" I don't expect much more than a sorry, I don't expect a refund or anything special but I guess, too much to ask.
I took a latte and tea to go (standard post meals for many) , and the server tells the cashier to adjust the amount for the burger giving me a 'there you go, all good?' look. By this time my lady friend came and I explained her what happened, now she doesn't take hair in food lightly. The staff got a firing so did the mustache man (more than the hair, she was pissed by the missing salad bar, pent up anger). I got a couple sorries, they refused to take money for the drinks even after I insisted. Gave me a broken plastic cup, i'm sure it wasn't intentional.

3. This was for breakfast, we reached at 10:58 a.m. (I swear) which is when the breakfast shuts but they served us saying 'last order'. We took a french and english breakfast (i'm not 100% sure of the names but they're 2nd and 3rd on the breakfast menu) One came with choice of eggs - sunny side up, choice of bread - brown bread toast, sausage (1), beans and hot beverage - tea. The other was eggs or pancake or waffle, I chose pancake then there was sausage (1), beans, brown toast, juice & hot beverage - latte. It took them 15 minutes to do everything and we got cold food. Guy was hesitant to give me both maple syrup and honey in those tiny little plastic cups, he also said I could get cereal instead of juice since i'm getting a hot beverage and he was on the good side again, I chose wheat flakes I paid and started eating. They were supposed to send my cereal to the table, after almost completing my meal and reminding them twice, I got my cereal at around 11:45. Everything tasted as it was supposed and I overall enjoyed the food, pancakes were slightly thicker.

Summing it up, this place is not JATC. The service still sucks, different deuche bags. I took the hair incident as a one - off thing but reading the cling foil food makes me unsure about the place. Food is average but this place is best avoided. Do get their pastries and cupcakes though. Hope you have found this review helpful.

Go there to eat cling foil in food

Being an enthusiast of the erstwhile JATC, one hoped and expected the most from EATC and took some friends who were visiting from out of town for a quick bite.
On entering, the place looked good, but the waiters were rude in finding a place for us to be seated (which we thought was a little understandable as it was packed for lunch). After much ado we ordered the food and it had a cold coffee in it as well.

The friend (visiting from prague) was the one who ordered the coffee and it had a huge sheet of cling foil in it. It looked like the whole glass of cold coffee was filled with it and our stomachs revolted the minute we saw it. Poor friend didnt know these things still happened in decent restaurants in mumbai.
Tried to speak to the manager who got holed up inside the kitchen and wasnt seen for a longtime, and on making some making some noise he replied with a very rude attitude that it was a mistake not at their kitchen but at supplier.
The icing o the cake was the attitude of "take it or leave it" where we just left the food and went.
Wonder if anyone even bothers and cares about patrons horrific experiences at EATC and also about the quality of fodd bcoz they certainly didnt bother about wasting a beautiful lunch meeting with friends.

Changed for worse...

EATC has simply lost the charm of JATC even with great interiors.

Had gone for some salad and in veg salad you have to select just 1 from the 4 and only 4 options they have, you can't add even for the extra buck....i was tremendously disappointed. The only good thing about this place now is that they have more options in type of breads, dessert and drink.

But, it has lost out big time on salad that used to be its USP....

this place has become sad...

DOWNGRADE

Food Quality: 5/5
Food Quantity: 3/5
Food Pricing: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Ambience: 3/5

You've been increasing your prices each time i come here and i'm not a fan of it. The size of the plate stays the same & the quantity too; why the increase as frequently as 6 months? The quality of food is good, but it doesn't get better.

The variety isn't embellished. The music needs to improve please! Play rhythmic tracks but avoid the hindi for God's sake. You'll be attracting a 'different' standard of crowd and it will be for your own bad. The staff needs to be polite and wear a smile when speaking with their customers; avoid the display of attitude. Won't fetch you tips anyway.

For the prices your dishes have increased to, embellish the ambience, the food variation and increase the quantity. I use to be your fan. I'm afraid I'm off that list.

Not going back there ever!

Couldn't agree more with samsegal (fellow burrper - review below). In fact, I did not even enter the place - the attitude at the gate itself put me off so bad. Evidently, JATC had too many people hanging around without spending money. There has to be some way for the restaurant to address that; definitely rudely telling off potential customers at the entrance that they MUST spend 250 per head is not the way to do so.

We would have probably spent way more than 250 per head if we did go in, but the rudeness at the gate was so humiliating, I will never ever go back there again! I miss the old JATC and the salad bar which was what set it apart.

bad attitude and ok food

few things i didnt like about the place:
-right at the door there a big board saying why they DONT want you to hang out there...
-the first thing the guy at the door said was that you HAVE to spent 250 rs per person and this is not a coffee shop ( that is kinda obvious)
-the behavior of the entire staff had a very hostile undertone making us feel like they were doing us a favor by letting us be there.
-the salad bar has closed down which used to be the USP of the place.
-the food was very average and definitely not worth the attitude that they had.

Overall..the place seems to be a DOWNGRADE from the earlier JATC...and I will not go back there anytime soon.

Stick to the food and loose the rules

Only tried the soups, sandwiches and pizzas. Very good food, certainly an upgrade from JATC. But this place needs to remember that first impressions make a huge difference. Lose the sign board in front that yells out that entry could be based on discretion. I understand the need for the upgrade and not wanting free loaders to hang out all day without ordering anything, but the board is very unwelcoming. Again, I get why there is a minimum spend, but somehow this seems like a cover charge and very unwelcoming. Also so many rules inside. I ordered a soup and was told that I had to order something worth over 100 bucks in order to pay using a credit card....so now I have to keep a track of how much I spend and also keep a track of what I order.
Anyway, the entire experience was tiresome and not worth the fancy new interiors and the glass mosaic walls.
Loose the attitude please.

This place has changed :-(

JATC is now EATC and it seems they have changed not just one word in the name of this restaurant but the whole idea and concept behind it. From the reception @ the gate which for some reason assigns you a table and hands you a card/cards representing the table number to the Salad Bar which was the soul of the place to the way the food is cooked and the basic spirit of the place it has all changed and I cannot say its for the better. To start of with most of the items on display are not on the menu affixed on the wall. For breakfast they had 3 options put up on the wall Menu which were preset breakfast menu's since i'd visited them around dinner time cannot be sure if they still continue to serve the items piece meal also as they used to instead of a person having to shell out Rs. 400+ for an american breakfast while all he/she might be looking out for a couple of eggs made his way with some juice.
As I stated earlier the Salad Bar is gone and is replaced with 3 options of salads which come made from the kitchen Veg/Chichken/Seafood. They also have Pizzas which come by the slice and there too you have 2 options Veg/Non veg. The Varieties of Sandwiches has been reduced to 1/2. and though many of them are the same they used to serve earlier the cooks have changed and so has the taste. The size of the Breads has surely reduced and the prices have increased. Gone are the 1/2 sandwiches and Junior Footlongs. A simple request as sprinkling some salt n pepper in a sandwich made by the person ahead of me was refused cause they said the salt n pepper was placed on the tables. The wraps were grilled on the same grills as the sandwiches and were left greasy with the butter of the earlier sandwiches. They had a large layout of desserts and the fruit cake I tried was quiet good but the soul of the place is gone.

It seems they have hired some new guy with new Ideas but who is also trying to hold on to certain ideas of the past and thus there is a confusion in what you see and what you get. I read an article on the revamp of this place where Mr. Narang the head of Mars restaurants says that it is a result of evolution and that JATC was making good money but he felt it needed to change. Am not against change but why try to repair something that is not broke and if you wanna make a change why make an half hearted approach. So they have a reservation system and table allocation system with the restaurant map laid out @ the reception but they are still a self service joint which was short staffed.
On having a word with the new manager about them being short staffed behind the counter the answer given to me was that it was only the 3rd day (sunday) since their re-opening and since they did not have many guests on saturday night they had reduced the staff :-) does a restaurant hire staff, specially cooks, on day to day basis depending on the guests who dined with them a day earlier?
Maybe I am a lil put off @ loosing one of my fav eatries maybe they will improve once the new guys behind the counter get a measure of things after all I did visit them on their 3 day after re-opening and am keeping my fingers crossed that things improve.

PS : The card handed out to you for the table has certain conditions being that the average billing has to be for a minimum of Rs. 250/- per head based on the number of persons entering the restaurant irrespective of whether every one is dining or not (a sort of a cover charge). So gone are the days where friends could meet up here for a few coffees sandwiches and a lot of conversation.

Skip this corner

I went here last weekend with a friend. She had the Cilantro sandwich and I ordered a Chargrilled Chicken Pasta with a Watermelon juice. The sandwich was rather good. But my order was a complete letdown. The juice was diluted down such that you could barely taste the watermelon. The pasta was just drowned in cheese sauce which was bland and tasteless. The pasta and the juice together cost me Rs.440/- at which price you must get good food!

The ambience however is rather nice.

just around the corner of my tummy

This place looks good, the location looks good. But is this place a hype? if you are ordering sandwiches, yes it is. Expecting a subway-like bread for my eyes and stomach to feast on, I was left at looking at two brown bread slices. Quite a bummer there. The salad bar looks yum, but not yum enough for me to try it out. I settled for the veggie delight and it turned out to be a veggie bummer. The biggest disappointment of them all, the fresh fruit juice. Diluted to its maximum, i felt 65 rupees burn a hole in my wallet. All in all, it was 'just' about okay.

Decent 'fast' food

I had gone to this place on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and I kind of liked the place. The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. The restaurant had both the options of sitting inside (in an AC) or outside, which I kind of prefer.

However the food disappointed me a bit. Or I guess I choose the wrong option. I had a burger which was not good at all. Infact people should avoid ordering the burger out here. My friends took the Salad buffet option, where you could make your own salad. They had a huge spread for it, which was good and my friends seem to enjoy it thoroughly.

So if you want to enjoy a good salad over a lazy lunch on a Sunday afternoon, head straight to this place.

Average food

The place has a nice feel to it and one can also sit there for a long time but the food is only average. We had tried the salad there which i found costly priced at rs170.There are many other places in bandra which serve better salads for a lesser price ,so it wasnt upto the expectations i had as a lot of people had recommended it.we also tried the pizza and garlic bread which were also just about ok and the pizza wasnt that hot too.The service wasnt all that good .
food-3/5
service-2.8/5
ambience-3.5/5
Nice place to just hang out but with average food

Free toppings of FLIES....

I went for lunch at this place yesterday wid my wife...
We were looking for a reasonable place in bandra area...we decided to go to this place as it has pizzeria...
We entered the place and decided to go for the pizza...we ordered 2 thin crust pizza's which took around 25-30 min to arrive...
We told the waiter to get us some olive oil...The bowl of olive oil was brought and kept on the table...We took some and left the remaining for the rest of the pizza's...after sometime we picked the bowl again and just saw 2 flies swimming in the bowl...
I was like wtf....I soon told the waiter that they should see to it that they dnt entertain the flies and keep some repellent handy...The waiter told the manager about the same and we saw the manager and staff laughing it out...
The service out here is pathetic....They dnt understand the meaning of customer service out here and just laugh out in such a situation instead of appologizing for the same...
I told my wife we will mention dis on burrp as well as on the consumer complaint forum...
This place is filthy with lots and lots of flies around...dnt believe me just go der and enjoy ur meal wid d free toppings of FLIES....god bless.

Just about Okay

Been here twice for post-party breakfast.
It is just about okay. Maybe its the self-service thing, which is a bit painful. Or the way the staff always gets the eggs wrong. Or the mustard which has generally gone bad. I find it just a tad bit overpriced for the variety, ambience and service it offers.

Excuse me there's a hair on my sandwich

I've never had a bad experience here, but this last time I went turned sour towards the end. I ordered for a sandwich and they made it well. The only problem was when it came there was a long strand of hair grilled and stuck to my sandwich on top. The waiter who brought it to my table took it back immediately. So I kept an eye on what they were doing with it. The guy behind the counter (someone at a senior post because he was in a tie) knew I was looking at him so he removed the veggies and bread out to make a new sandwich. Then when he thought I wasn't looking, he took the sandwich with the hair, removed the strand and put it back in the grille and kept the veggies and bread back. I went straight to the counter and he didn't know what to do. He slyly threw the old sandwich out and made a another one. Not sly enough for me!

I am really scared to eat at places with closed kitchens now.

Also they charge Rs.5 for charity which is voluntary though they don't ask you initially. It's on your bill and once it is charged and you've paid for it no one wants to go ask for 5 bucks back. I decided that I would test their 'voluntary' stance. So I said I don't want to give 5 bucks. The guy behind the cash counter said it's only 5 trying to make me feel bad. I still stuck to my stance. If it is voluntary it should be voluntary no questions asked.

i'd like to address my previous two reviewers thtz diti shah and chandni tolani... hello, pretty ladies. its lovely to hav faces like u on burrp.
i agree that prices are on the higher side now. juice which used to be for Rs.50 is up by 15 bucks. and even costa coffee which is more exp than CCD. so ya JATC has taken most of us by surprise, not a very pleasant one at that! but i still go there and sit in the breezy outdoor section u know why?
JATC is a place that lets me be mahself...i can have a cup of coffee n chillax for three hours working on my projects. i love the sandwiches also the salad is very good. beautiful chicks is just another reason round the corner!

rich and hungry?

I agree with chandni. the rates of JATC have been hiked...a portion of salad that comes in a small plate costs Rs.170, thats absolutely ridiculous! Even the sandwiches now are steeply priced and the veg breakfast is damn expensive serving only 3 items - baked beans, toast and hash brown.
On the brighter side, they have added a few new items to the salad counter, like babycorn in tomato sauce and broken wheat salad. I also noticed they change the salad items regularly and serve fresh. There's no doubt that JATC is still one of the coolest places to hang out for long hrs and relax in bandra. So if you're rich and hungry, go to JATC!
PS: the CCD is gone now, replaced by Costa coffee as reported by burrp.

Pricey around the corner!

The ambiance of JATC is beyond anyone's expectations, with an indoor as well as an outdoor sitting. An attached CCD is probably a better option to have coffee than from JATC itself. If you plan to chill and just hangout then there are a score of tables here. The food here is overpriced and absolutely not worth it...

An absolute chilling place but be prepared to get a hole in your pocket!

A nightmare soon after dawn!

I went there for breakfast and had the worst ever breakfast in my life. What a nightmare! I've eaten better vadas in Arab land. Please don't choose their south indian breakfast combo. Their conti combo is better. Noting to rave about. just a little better than the nightmarish south Indian combo. This place is good to hang-out, not to eat.

No great shakes

I went this morning after years to JATC as I read on the reviews here. I had never had the breakfast here and honestly I came back unimpressed. No great variety especially for my wife and daughter who would not eat eggs either and you had the standard fare of Idli Dosa etc. Coming from Matunga, Idli and Dosas are never the same elsewhere. Even the Omlette I had was so so. All in all I was not at all impressed considering the price paid.

Name suits!!

Its actually just around the corner in bandra.. good place for a nice salad plate and coffee from CCD which is just besides it.. A little noisy though and rest of the stuff is a little pricey for the quantity..

Fancy Tapri!

This place is just a fancier version of a roadside tapri...noisy, crowded, not too clean, more of an 'adda' for a quick bite! then why the excellent rating?
Because (a) its literally got everything under one roof...burgers, sandwich, pasta, pizza, desserts, coffee and the amazing DIY salad bar.... And (b) great location and (c) you can sit here with a laptop as long as you have something on your table.
The servers are always on their feet, the decor is good enough and if you're star-struck you may 'get lucky' every once in a while.

good foood ....good place

The place has a very casual attitude wit indoor and outdoor seating
the food spread is heavenly
from salads to pastas / burgers / and ofcourse sandwitches
for the health conscious...
the salads are a really good with a massive variety for non vegeterians ..sorry veggies ...!!
the double layered grilled chicken fillet made me a lifetime fan for this place...
The Chicken Nuggets were superb...but the risotto disappointed as usual ( cant seem to find a good palce for this in bombay )
but however i blame my choice for my disappointment

This place now becomes a must visit ...!!!

One of the excellent thing that happend to Bandra

I wish i had a similar joint right next to my house in Dadar. Its the coolest place i have ever been to in Mumbai. Nothing gimmicky about the place. Serves salads, pizzas, sandwiches (Ummm), burgers, soups and regular Mexican and Italian things. Simple user friendly environment and has Self service.

At the entry there are two simple steps written:
Salads served on serving,
For other food, served on portions.
Short and simple explanation for all it serves.

The ambiance is fresh white. you will always feel the freshness in the air when u enter. Just connected with Cafe Coffee day with the same entrance. So you can have a nice huge sandwich with a steaming hot Cafe Mocha...(aahahaha). The brownie just tastes awesome.

The place is not so expensive as compared to other places in Bandra. The good part about this place is, its open till midnight, not so crowded. and self service make it easier to havea quick bite and push off....

To summarize it. Great place. Good food. Available till late nights. I am great fan of JATC.

Just for the Salad....

This place would be almost an institution in Bandra and its rare to see it empty n a Sunday afternoon.

Food: have a salad soup and sandwich option. This includes a portion of soup, a side salad and a junior sandwich. There was a aspargus and corn soup. Never tasted such a drab soup ever. There was no tatse whatsoever just a glob of creamy stuff. Had a BBQ paneer sandwich which was very average. The juices also didn't really seem fresh so avoid that.

I would recommend going in for just the large plate of salad. Given that there aren't too many good options for salads in Mumbai I really like JATC.They have a good variety along with various dressings and usually crowded so I assume the food would be fresh as well.

Service: Its largely self service

Damages: Rs 199 for the salad soup sandwich combo. It is value but given the quality not worth it. The large plate of salad is Rs 190 while small is Rs 140. The small one is totally not worth it unless your are an expert in fiiting food in that small plate.

Go just for the salad.

Not worth it

I went to this place as my friend was insisting that it is a nice joint. But I must say it does not deserve it.

I had "Chicken Corinder Soup" and I could barely find chicken pieces in the serving bowl. I thought of enjoying hot soup as it was raining. But it was cold. Come on guys... have some hot soup and not the one which is as cold a cold drink.

Salad was ok.

Ordered Fresh Lime soda and it was hot.

I think these people got confused with this and soup.

I'd rather go to a foodcourt!

Again one star only cause I have to!

I wanted a light sandwich and salad for lunch and someone suggested this place. Well the food, hygiene, and ambience were sub par.

My friend ordered a salad from the salad bar and I went for the paneer burger. The salad station was mostly filled with carbs, I mean come on I understand that most Indians like chaats and aloo in their salads but at least provide ample greens and "normal" salads in your bar. Anyway, the salads weren’t covered and we went for lunch at 2pm and everything was stale. The paneer burger was hilarious, it was a paneer patty covered with masala, I mean OMG, disgusting, and one more thing..... Who puts cucumbers in a burger....cmon it doesnt work, it should be lettuce, tomatoes, and maybe onions.

The tables weren’t clean and the staff wasn’t motivated or courteous. I would not recommend this place to anyone; I would rather eat at a thela or a food court. And please recommend these people to sell this location to someone else; it’s appalling to see such a good location go to waste.

IN NEED OF MAKEOVER!!!!

I have been visiting this place since past 10 years. And I have to say it has gone down in the quality of the food. Few years back the soup and salad concept was very new in Mumbai and still we do not have that many options around. The worst part about JATC is that you can just fill up your plate one. I have seen people piling up their dishes like they have come from Sahara dessert!!! Now cmon..... stationed in Bandra you can price your meal b/w 200-300 and go in for unlimited serving just like the Soup-Salad-Sandwich-Dessert spread at Jazz by the Bay at Nariman Point. Also the sandwiches have degraded in terms of quality and quantity of the fillings. These guys definitely have to improve otherwise they will just be one of the joint around the corner........

Just good hang-out, stale food

Went to JTC after a long time. It used to be a good place earlier, but it seems they are loosing their way when it comes to food quality and service. I would definitely agree with the earlier reviewer.

I ordered a Veg Classic sandwich, which had nice filling, but discovered that the bread that they used was not fresh at all. Thats something which is not at all expected from JTC. One goes their to have some nutritious food and not stale.
I also ordered for a Watermelon juice, which just looked and tasted like Red-colored water. Nothing else....A street-side juice shop besides my office serves better watermelon juice than that. JTC's doesn't even come close.

Further, the service was too slow. They take so much time to clear the payments!

Neither here nor there

The first time I went to JATC was several years ago when the concept of a salad bar was very very new to Mumbai. I loved their spread, which one would not encounter easily.
But over time, the place and its offerings have become jaded. The salad servings are definitely not fresh and the meat looks like it has been there in those steel pots for over 2 days.
I agree with another reviewer that the apple pie is good, when you can manage to get it. Even the flans are nice and crusty.
Wish they would bring the zing back into this joint.

Just Around for Support!

Wasn't too happy to see this place rated so poorly. C'mon guys, don't think it deserves 2 stars. This place definitely a great option for salads, they have some decent deserts as well. I have dropped in a couple of times after accompanying my wife for an exhaustive shopping spree around Bandra and the food has been fairly consistent. I had the apple pie the last time i was here- and it was awesome. For those who haven't tried it- definitely worth a visit. So here goes J.A.T.C i give you '4' for being nice to me!

Just down the Gutter!!

So, i had no place to eat last night because everything just seemed too expensive in Bandra. Someone suggested "Just around the Corner" and it is pretty well located. They've done a good job with spreading out the outdoor seating area around the restaurant. Usually people just chat over a coffee here and eat less. It's like a Barista or CCD with a bit more of a personal feel (without all the branding non-sense). At this point after faintly observing the outdoors i made my way to the counter to place my order and it felt like a salad bar and nothing seemed fresh. The Service was good.. but since the salad bar did'nt look fresh i ordered the Pizza and got home and it all went down the gutter (bad stomach) - it had to have been the pizza. If you just want to chat and catch up with a friend then this is a good place but don't eat here.. just a bad experience maybe it has better food to offer. :(
