A pony tail cartoon at the entrance

I had been there few days ago...at the entrance there is tall pony tailed joker who seems to b the manager( with a choti hairstyle)..we were few of us and were waiting for others to arrive..this manager didn't have the courtesy also to tell us to be seated at the sofa near the entrance..he tells us to wait some where else..I think the first thing this restaurant should do is train their staff with basic mannerism to greet customers...The food was ok..The service is a bit slow..can't blame the waiter as staff are few..I think the management should introspect the staff.. they appoint and give them some basic training on how to deal with guests..

My experience...

Had been there couple of times..whenever i order soup..u get just scanty small pieces of chicken..i have to then show the waiter the qty & he then replaces it with few more pieces of chicken...This happens evrytime that the soup has hardly any chicken...The salads are all tasteless..iv tried most of the salads and all are below standard..most of the times they serve you salad drenched with vinegar..To the main course.. the sizzlers are fantastic and yummy...This place needs improvement in food..The waiters are also not courtous..they take the order and then dissapear for a long time..you have to literally stand up and search them if u want to order..They dont even serve you water when you are just seated...Menu rates are all bomb prices..but as compared to the service..its not worth it at all..

Gets crowded on weekends

Had been to this place sometime back..
nice ambience, there is a small dance floor, bar seating and dining area.
this place gets too crowded on weekends and you will have to reach early to get a decent place to sit.
food is good.
music is loud but nice.

one of my fav

been here many a times....normal days and on ladies nights...
they have many great deals going on usually..ladies nights is fun... when we went it wasn't too crowded... 4 drinks are free per head..but not all drinks are available...they have limited choice of drinks...
food is really good.. I loved their veg starter platter... their pizza.. their other dishes were good too.. quantity good enough for two people
They have a dance floor... but you don't see anyone dancing until 11.30.. nor the music which was on before was danceable. so for the people who come late..its an add on..,
ambience is good.. not shabby...

Really?

You cannot be as snobbish and rubbish at the same time as this place is. At least, you’ll really have to try very hard to be that. We went to this place for dinner after a movie. And we disliked the place as much as we liked the movie. To emphasize, the movie was great.

The ambiance is good, and you feel pleased while entering this place. And then everything becomes confusing. The staff behaves as if they serve at a black-tie French restaurant while the music is so loud that you can easily pass-off this place as trashy and only for party goers.

The food menu is extensive but the Chimmichangas (V and NV) were pretty average. The other dish that we ordered was so ordinary that I don’t even remember it.

But the experience that took the cake (literally) was the dessert. After a below average meal and 50 minutes of extremely hard to hear conversation, we expected the dessert to smoothen the frayed nerves. But it was not to be. We ordered a dessert with brownies, ganache and chocolate ice cream, and were surprised when it actually arrived. Two scoops of small-than-table tennis-ball chocolate ice cream and…that’s it! And the staff was trying to pass it off as the dish that we had ordered! We had to get in the chef to clarify things where he admitted his mistake and said that the ganache was not available, hence this was sent.

After such an enthralling experience, we rushed downstairs to a fast food eatery at the ground floor of the mall and just got in time for some eats that would make for dinner. Thank the Lord for FF joints; sometimes, they can be real life savers.

Some place!

Good but loud sometimes!

The place is good, the food is good, the staff treats you well., However, the music volume might irk you a bit if you're not used to loud music. Good place for hanging out with friends, --- the overall ambience is such that larger your group, more fun you're destined to have. They have a slew of drinks on offer, you can have your pick. The dance floor is located in such a way that dancers can enjoy their privacy without disturbing the non-dancers. The wine list and beer list is "notable" and I'm sure these are one of the best sellers at this place. Check it out!

Place for a nice night of food and dancing

Place has got great food and music.. though i hear that there is some new rule for all boys group not being allowed to hit the dance floor.. none the less love the mix of music they play and never had a evening there without some crazy dancing.. downside is that they stick to the 1 o clock timeline religiously.. the desserts are pretty fantastic.. make sure you order one if you not going to san churro near by

We went for lunch today. Every thing was fine except we were not sure if our daughters would be able to make it on time. So we assumed they would be able to get there on time and ordered accordingly.
Two of my daughters could not make it on time and we asked them to pack the food for them. It seems they have a policy of not allowing you to take food away, despite paying for it.
I am definitely not going there again.

Always a good experience

I have been to Firangi Paani 5-10 times with friends and i have never ever had a single bad experience over there ... It is slightly on the pricier side compared to the other resto-bars but for the good times i have had there it seems worth it... The service is prompt and the servers are friendly... They play good music if you enjoy 80's/90's music and from midnight till 1am(closing time) they play bollywood music which gets the dance floor packed... Overall if you arent shy of spending approx 1.5-2k per person for the whole night then you should surely go to Firangi paani ....

NOT THE SAME FIRANGI

I have been coming to this place for almost 4 years now. Sadly the place has gone down so much that its heart breaking. Most of the drinks on menu are not available and so many other issues like bad service, no more rock bands, hardly any retro music, so many stags on the floor which we never even see in any small shady pub also ....... But still almost every other week me and my friends end up being there reminiscing the old times spent there that we have spent in this fine outlet and the only saving grace being the DJ and his music. Wish we can see the old firangi paani once again"

Awesome Place on a Saturday Nite

Been here sometime back and had taken my friends here. It was their first time at Firangi Paani. We reached at around 7:30/8 pm and the place was quite empty. By the time it was 9 pm, the place started filling up and the whole place turned into a dance arena. My friends just couldn't stop dancing. The starters , drinks and sizzlers were really good. Will be back to try out their Sunday Brunch soon

classy n supa cool

Its my favourite venue amogst all others in mumbai. its classy cool amazing food good candy crowd upto the price and most important lovely and foot tapping music. In short its a place for kids to seniors and each of them can enjoy here. I like the waiter out there wearing hat n serving vodka shots by blowing whistle ....heheheh no doubt lil expensive but worth for the fun with friends. I always like retro music a lot so prefer to go there only request I would say to phirangi please do not play atleast local bollywood songs its spoil the standard or mood...rest ambience and service too good.

Not Great Food and Not Great Service

This was my first time in firangi paani for a sunday lunch buffet..
The starters there are usually served on table like BBQ nation does, but then one has to wait wait n wait untill u shout @ someone.
Starters - Not much variety.. Non veg and veg had only 2 starters each ..of which only the prawns was good.
Meal - In rice for Non veg. there was only mutton biryani.. so if u like it, u have it or else steam rice is the option :X . Veg was average good.
Deserts - Was okay cant praise... Out of 6/8 deserts i found only 1or 2 good ones. Rest was ok. Ice cream average tasting ice creams strawberry and vanilla.
Not Worth for the Rs. 600 Money You spent. Better search for someother buffet.

let down

visiting from the US and came here with a family friend who told me it was supposed to be "like an irish pub". Definitely had the brit/irish pub look to it but when i went to order a Guinness, I was told they don't have any....ummm okkkk.....how bout Smithwicks?? no? ummm Killians?? so i asked what they did have..."we have corona, heneiken and budweiser" so basically, its Irish ambiance without the Irish fare. I thought that was pretty funny, but the saddest part is that this looks like such a great place, good music, good people, but i ordered a bottle of beer and the bartender didn't have a bottle opener??? he used the top of a plastic soda bottle to open my beer. i would have thought that with all the nice bars and restaurants mumbai has to offer...at least give your guy a bottle opener! little advice, if you're calling it Firangi Paani....how bout getting some of that Firangi beer that matches your set-up

Expensive!!!

Good ambiance, decent music and an ok crowd... we've always gone in big groups so the crowd didn't really matter. But the drinks seem over-priced for a place like this. They have a Mojito pitcher for Rs 1000 which was the only one that we thought was fairly priced. We always end up with a bill that burns our friggin wallet down!

Dance!

The only limelight about this place was the dance floor and the music. With a nice buzz of alcohol and your own set of moves (and I mean any, be it those of Mithun moves!), you can have an amazing experience. Good music and dance tunes provided by the DJ over there with a good mix of Hindi and English. Downside to all this was the rates charged over there (quite over the top). would definitely not call it value for money. On a Saturday night though, the bar is swarmed with alcohol quenched guests! Didn't have an opportunity to interact with the stewards so can't really give a take on them and their service. Good Security provided with bouncers at specific terminals to provide guests with safe entertainment.

why patronise ??

if this place is so full of problems then people should shun the place . the owners would learn a lesson for what ever is hapening there.

Beware of Waiters

Beware of Waiters., they can steal your belongings even if you are in all your senses.
While leaving I called my friend who was on a call outside once she entered we left our seat I checked my things in my purse(as I always do befor leaving)I realized my cell was missing. I asked my frind to give a ring.It rang 5-6 times then the number was not reacheable. So, it was obvious that the phone was with someone.I told the manager he removed all the chairs but it was sure that d cell was stolen as it was not ringing anymore.

I wont have written this review if I was drunk & so due to my negligence the phone got stollen. The management was just sorry & told you shold take care of youe belongings. But you do not expect your ph to be picked up from your table by a waiter.

So guys just take care of your things when waiters are around! In any case the DJ was also very poor!! So, check out other places...

very poor service!!!

I had gone tonight with a couple of friends..had to request three times for the menu while we were eating and wanted to order drinks...they got our order wrong and in general were pretty lax in serving with half hour waiting periods in an almost empty place...after 10.30pm, music was so loud that we had to shout to be heard...considering it was 70% empty, i didnt see much point of extremely loud music... to top it all, they said that the music would only get louder as time passed!!

Incredibly Rude Incompetent Waiter

Bill Number: L0131485
Date: 21/3/2011
Time: 12:06 am
Table no: 0016
Steward: 0235

This is a great place with nice music, good food and an excellent ambience. I would have given it a thumping good review if it wasn't for our waiter's rudeness, which somewhat soured an otherwise great time.
1. To start with, the service was slow and the waiters were hard to catch. When our waiter did finally show up, he acted as though he was a resident of the Buckingham palace. We were about ten of us, which invariably means there will be some discussion at the table while ordering. This discussion seemed to visibly irritate our dear waiter and he walked away impatiently twice in the middle of our order, once right in the middle of something I was telling him.

2. The waiter also kept forgetting what I'd ordered. I asked him to get me Diet coke with lemon and ice, and some water separately. He first got me a diet coke. Then on reminding him twice, he got me some ice. Then on further prodding, he got me lemon. Then after a few more times, he finally also got me water. Ridiculous.

3. If that wasn't enough, a little while later when the table was covered with used glasses, plates and cutlery, we had to ask him FIVE times to have it cleared, FIVE times! Oh and they still did only a half job of it. In fact, throughout the evening the waiters were extremely miserly with the spoons and forks, reasons for which I completely fail to imagine.

4. Finally when it was time for the bill, the waiter once again walked away impatiently while I was discussing with him how we could carry the the birthday cake with us. Then we were treated to him rudely throwing the bill card around and slapping my credit card back on the table summarily without even bothering to tell me about it.

5. Sick of all this I finally asked for the feedback form. This led to five minutes of waiting with no feedback form. The waiter then came back and completely side stepped our request for a feedback form by telling us some nonsense about how he'd sent someone to buy packing material for the cake from "Star Bazaar" (hilarious, at half an hour past midnight).

I didn't manage to catch the guy's name on his badge (the place is nice and dimly lit) but I have mentioned the bill details, which should help the management identify the guy.

At the end I'd like to say that at the prices that are being charged and the kind of people that this place hopes to target, the very least one can expect are half decent waiters who can behave appropriately - and not some joker who acts like he owns the place and all its patrons. I doubt that anyone will want to put up with rudeness like this.

Once again, excellent place, terrible service (at least the guy we were unfortunate enough to get).

one of the coziest Places I have been!!

Let me keep it short and sweet, Firstly its no way close to any English Pub as the say,the Ambiance at certain places is too over powering for a pub{ it needs that old skool looks}. I love the Bar top infact rate it one of the best in Mumbai on basis of availability of drinks and the comfort the bar stools offer.
The drinks here which I had was unfortunately Diluted{ Had a Single Malt Lapharoig 10 worth Rs 580}fortunately I can make out Diluted drinks As i worked as a main Bartender in London. So make sure If you are having a Hard Spirit always opt for a fresh un opened bottle.
The food again ig ordinary had a Sharing Veg Platter and Garlic bread was not that good.MUSIC IS NOT AT ALL PUBBY AND TOOO LOUD AT TIMES FEELS LIKE ITS A INDIAN BAAZAR{mgmnt plz work on it}
Overall a good place to get out of the city skin and relax!!!
and beaware of diluted drinks..cheers!!

waste of your time and money!AWFUL PLACE!!!

pathetic experience!!!i wud suggest evry1 visiting this place 2 think of the better options available in mumbai...visited for the first time 4 christmas lunch buffet, which had roasted turky as the central attraction according to their news parer add....wasted 1500 bucks for 2 people.turkey was in watery gravy,no naan or chapati.even when we ordered, waiter didnt get any.the meat was as hard as leather and it was stinking too(evryone left it after 1 bite).starters were cold(pizza, sev puri and some bland soup dips!).except a prawn dish, evrything hd bad gravy.biryani ws nt great 2!chicken salad was ice cold on top of the a/c in full swing.didnt like the food at all, even a single dish!!desserts were ok,kulfi ws without any flavour and made in-home!waiters cant speak english stil try 2 which gav a very sad impression.manager kept roaming and peeping into evry1's plates, again, embarrasing!liked the fish tikka which ws served on table but only 2 tiny pieces!when asked for more, he ignored.dont waste ur time,hard-earned money and mood there!

Diluted drinks and never have draft beers

I have been to this place twice. Both times my experience was very disappointing.

The drinks here are very diluted. We ordered a pitcher of long island tea however even after having one entire pitcher the effect was very minimal. Both the time we ordered draft beer and both the times it was not available.

The food out here is good and tasty. The ambiance is very nice. The music is very good bit loud to have a conversation.

ambience was good mind you .. not great they need some theme/signature you see.. cost wise it was ok as any other civilised bar in mumbai.. infact the cover charges were cheap so thats a plus+++.. the foot tapping floor should b open for all.. dont do that cheap stunt of "couples only".. if you feel the guys arent decent enough stop them from entering the pub itself ??? the sound system was terrific. i mus say one of the best in mb.. better than its own sista joint.. and please guys got a tag/caption or a signature style believe me that will be a hit.

ps: a secret for all time stags.. u can squeeze into the dance floor frm the bar side.. no questions asked!!!

Avoid: Expensive and bad cocktails!!

The positives first:

Ambience: Nice
Space: Great
Seating: Good
Music: Good

If you are amongst the one who want to show off being at an expensive place, then head out to this place.

However if you are the one looking for exotic mix of cocktails or even pure spirits, then this place isn't worth even half the price of what's printed on the Menu.

I ordered a Singapore Sling and was pleasantly surprised that the cocktail offered was not as per what was on the Menu.
I have had the original drink in Singapore and mind you this was just a cheap copy (with some of the liquers missing) of the original.

Then I ordered a Gin based cocktail which again was not upto the mark. I bet to make better tasting cocktails than the bar tender in this Firaangi place.

For approx. INR 400(8 $) for every drink, this place is way too expensive even by dollar standards for people wanting to enjoy.

I can think of better restaurant/pubs by service and drinks that could beat this pub hands down.

Its better to enjoy music inside your car and drinks in the parking lot of Fun Republic without spending thousands of rupees on this stupid pub!

the place is not overly crowded and music is not too loud, classic pub ambience.. gives u lot of space to hang out with ol friends - chat ,starters are great..though not many options are available for the veggis. do Not try the recommended salads.. definately not worth the money. too much lettuce and the rest is missing.
for the price (& tax!!!) they charge the cocktails are not that good(read HRC).

Good to hang out but not on a light wallet.

My friend and I decided to check out the happening places in Andheri and we were recommended Firangi Paani, being close to where we were we thought of giving it a try.

We reached the place at 9.15pm (Friday) and had no problem getting in, the place was 50% occupied. But of course we were offered the first table as we entered the place when there were a whole lot of other available, we said, "No thanks but we will take that other one with a good view of the entire place."

I looked at the menu and found the drinks quite expensive, others might not but be your own judge, Corona was 330/- and 35% tax on it = 445/- and Kingfisher was 150/- + 35% = 202/-. The pitcher was around 580/- and add 35% to that. Although the pitcher was out of stock!

I saw a lot of people sipping on cocktails, seemed like a popular choice. I think most of them were over 300+, of course add to that 35% tax.

The ambience was pleasing and the place quite spacious. For sports fans there are 2 TVs that I noticed showing the IPL games.

The music was very loud. My friend and I struggled to have a conversation without being in each other's ears. So be careful, people might get other impressions from an angle! They played retro music to begin with and then as the night progressed the DJ on request changed the theme to current times.

The place also has a dance floor and people were not afraid to use it.

Did I mention that there was a guy wearing a Mexican hat and a shot glass strap blowing a whistle offering tequila shots? Look out for him he may get you eventually!

Ah! I forgot to mention the food. Well we had ordered Paneer Chili and it was finger licking delicious. It was for 245/- + 22.5 % tax. While the French fries were nothing great to talk about I thought they were for 70/- but I just saw my bill and they charged me 120/-, again + 22.5 tax.

I left the place at 12.30pm and the crowd was already leaving. I had a good night out but I found the place a bit too expensive. There are lots of other places in Mumbai that I still need to check out so I am not coming back here any time soon.

It is a good place to hang out if you are not light on the wallet.

P.S.: There is a smoker’s lounge for people who like to live dangerously.

specifically for Ladies Night

I went there on Monday and Wednesday for the Ladies Night. So here are some caveats abt the much hyped Ladies night

- Four drinks on the house..Indian liquor..but yes a little diluted. Safe to have beer because that is the only thing they cant dilute. they also have some cocktails on the free list.

- You get these free coupons only if you reach the place before 9 : 45, however once you have them, you can use them till 1. So be sure you reach before that..one of our friend who came in late din get the free coupons :)

- The ambiance is great..the food is expensive but does not pinch as you get the alcohol free.

- Even though this place is crowded, the service thankfully doesn suffer..which is again commendable..

Music is awesome and so is the food :)

Overpriced and overrated

The place is seriously overpriced. Rs. 580 + Tax for a pitcher!!!!!! To add to the woes they charge 35% tax!!!!!!!. I don't think its VFM, contrary to popular belief, now the place is almost empty on most days. Been here on a Saturday, Friday and a Thursday, only around 30% of the place was occupied.

You are better off going to other places like HRC, at least they serve some good food, or some other places. If you have to pay this kind of money, why not go to a 5 star hotel?

FirangiPaani is a place of the past , and if my gut feeling is right the place wont be there after a year or so. The crowds have started pulling out and people complaining about their prices. You cant run a business by being nice to a handful loyal customers. At least I have doubts whether i will visit them again. BJN is acting very arrogant with their pricing policies and "I don't care ..." attitude.

Go there if you wanna just blow all your money and not feel satisfied.

Great music and aura

28/2/10 We gang of 5 reached the place around 12.30 am the still the place was buzzing. The music was good mix of 'Tum Mile' and 'Sean'. There is a dance floor unlike the one in Bandra. The place was open till 3 am.

There was not much option to choose in terms of food. The waiter said only two things are available - Potato wedges and Chicken starter. Food ran out -not acceptable as it was a Friday night. Albeit the service was good considering the crowded. The drinks were bit expensive. The crowd is really awesome and everyone enjoyed to the groove.

Personal take would go to enjoy music, crowd (girls)and of course drinks as well.

Brilliant Cocktails!

I had been here during the Ladies Night with a couple of friends. The cocktails served were quite good, and i liked the ambiance too! I've not tried FP more than once, but i quite liked the place, I'd surely make a visit sometime soon,if not for anything, atleast for the Ladies Night ;)

Irrational/Hidden Pricing - Head to HRC Instead

Went on a Friday evening at 8 to catch it during its happy hour where they have one drink on the other free. Thats quite a deal, isnt? NOT REALLY.

There are a list of caveats to this deal. No wine or beer other than KF a part of this. No soda is a part of this either. So, we ordered a large antiquity and a large smirnoff vodka and then a second round of small portions. Along with this, we had the veg platter (about 275 bucks) and a portion of garlic bread (70 bucks). The food was alright. The platter was decent, although i would wish they were a little generous with the dips they provided. The mayo based salad/dip appeared cheap and unpresentful. The salsa dip was too less and tasted mediocre. We were also a little disappointed with the soda's that were presented to us in a flask. Not only was the soda flat but also on one occasion the quantity in the flask wasnt full while i was being charged for each one!

Now comes to the main issue i have with this place- Pricing! I wasnt looking at anything cheap to drink at but this place just doesnt deserve this sort of pricing. For two of us with 2 appetizers and a drink and a half each - we paid 2600!! And that too it was a happy hour - so i am not counting the bonus 90 ml of alochol we had. HAd i paid for that, my bill would have been easily above 4k!

I know the taxes are charged by the government but what about rhw service charge? Even if we arent happy with the service, you still expect us to fetch out 10%? I realize that this place averages out to 2k per person including munchies and drinks. For that sorta money i will give you 10 different and better places to enjoy. First one comes to my mind is Hard Rock Cafe. Priced maybe a little lower or same, HRC ambiance and music is 1000 times better and the quality of food there is leap years ahead of FP.

So next time you are at FP, dont be fooled by the alcohol prices listed on the menu - do a quick calc of the menu price + 35% is what you will be paying and ask yourself the question if this place deserves it!

Love It!

I love this place.. As compared to the Bandra Firangi Paani, the Andheri one is really rocking!! The music, food and ambiance everything is great. Its not very crammed and the dance floor is not very small too.. So you can eat, drink and when you feel like shaking a leg, you can step onto the dance floor. Its on the expensive end but nevertheless worth the extra bucks!

Relived the 80's

Had been here with siblings on a Saturday night. I don't know who was playing the music, but it was an amazing playlist from the 80's. Songs that I had almost forgotten, and one you rarely get to watch on TV or hear on radio. It has a small dance floor and bouncers keep it clean. The reason you will often see families here is because its a rest-o-pub, unlike any other pub. The same reason why crowd is decent; we were there until 1am and there was no nuisance what-so-ever.
Although food & drinks looked fairly priced for the ambience and music, VAT and service tax put together, the bill was out of the roof. VAT was charged at 25% on liqour, 10% on food, and another 10% for service. We paid several thousands on tax alone :)
Anyway, I recommend this place if you're planning to keep the night out!

What a stupid reply from the management

I refer to someone's review that the taxes are too high. And the management replied what we already know.
What we dont know is "Which Banana Republic charges 35% VAT and service tax?"
I have, till now, always paid 10 or 12% VAT. Nothing more for sure. Smells like a scam cooking by the way the management so proactively responded to the tax query and also by the way it so conveniently by-passed the real issue of how much tax is to be paid. Instead they told us what we already know.
Was thinking of going there on a weekend and enjoying the Happy Hours. But then will have to do a rethink coz the Happy Hours dont seem so Happy after all with 35% tax!

Very good, but Taxes are too high !

Went there many times, but somehow didn't get to review it here. Better late than never.

Entered at 11:30 PM on a thursday, people were in full mood, band was playing in full swing. First feedback...the music volume could have been a bit less, we were hardly able to talk.

Food servings are very very generous and the price for F&B is quite decent too ! Food taste is also delicious.

Waiters are friendly and helpful, service is good. No complains so far...the only complain came when the bill around.

On drinks there was a tax(service+vat) of 35%...yeah its insane !

And food there was a tax(service+vat) of 22.5 %...which is also very very high.

Just for the very high tax, which increases the bill significantly, I tend to go there less to what I would have gone.

If you are going on some one else's tab...forget the world outside...its party time inside with good drinks and food !

Thank you for your valuable comment.

We appreciate the views & suggestions on your visit to our premium brand- Firangi Paani.

We appreciate your concern regarding the taxes, but seriously the taxes are government’s income which can’t be controlled by us.

Hope to see you @ our other brands in Mumbai i.e Angeethi @ Vile Parle, Aromas of China @ Andheri & Oberoi Mall.

Have a wonderful Fine Dining Experience with BJN Group. Cheers!!!

Awesome fun!

Went with the wifee after catching a movie at Fun on a Friday night.

Took s few minutes to get a table but the staff indoors was quite helpful unlike the bimbo manning the front door.

The party was already in full flow at (10:30 pm). India was playing against the West Indies in T20 world cup.

Started by ordering a couple of drinks and wife's fav dynabites, which were quite good.

The DJ was spinning good retro fun tracks and soon the dance floor started buzzing. We shook a leg too in between courses. Was a lot of fun.

We ordered a chicken starter but it was cancelled graciously by the staff when we found it over salted. The kung pao chicken sizzler which followed was very good though.

The drinks and the food was good.

The service was very good. The servers were knowledgable and courteous.

But its the music and the little dance floor which would bring me here again.

Heaven on Earth

The most happening place in Mumbai. The sizzler's are mind boggling. Awesome ambience & kick ass music. Excellent & hospitable staff serving people and guiding them with class of menu as well as cocktails.

Also they have the longest bar in Mumbai & also the exotic beverage list.

Wish they had outlets in south bombay also.

Cheersssssssssssssss

Pathetic Service

I had a guest from out of town and so me, my wife and the friend decided we would try out this place. Firstly, as a bar they have very few screens showing the matches and so definitely avoid the place if you want to see some sport.

Then the service - We were served by a waiter who was clueless. As is common practice in India - I made him repeat my order after taking it. I kid you not - he took 5 attempts to get the order right and this is after I asked him to write the order down. The order was fairly simple - a chicken sandwich for myself, a tuna salad for my wife, a chicken shashlik sizzler for my friend and a coke for myself ( we had already ordered drinks earlier). In spite of repeating the order 5 times, we ended up getting a chicken sandwich, the tuna salad and a PANEER sizzler - NO COKE. The food came one after the other in breaks of 10 mins leaving us to stare at each other while waiting for the other person's order. When my friend realized he was eating paneer, we called the waiter and pointed out the mistake and ordered a chicken sandwich instead hoping it would come soon. Big mistake - the order took 20 mins to come and in the meanwhile there was no sign of the coke I had ordered. At this point, I flagged the manager and asked him to come to our table. I very politely explained the situation to him and he politely apologized and then said he would handle the situation and asked us if we would like any drinks - the others on the table declined what we assumed would be a freebie and I said I would like a refill of my coke which had arrived by then. We got the sandwich in another 5 mins and then my coke refill. I then asked for the cheque and lo and behold we had been overbilled. There were two extra drinks charged to us. In addition both my coke and the coke refill were billed. They not deem it fit to give us a discount or a refund on even a SINGLE item. We felt so bad with the whole experience, I left a 0 tip for the first time in my life and we left the place never again to visit this shithole.

should go at least once

i am a frequent visitor to mumbai and this time had some time to spare and friends around so i could explore more places. And i love burrp for the simple fact that it can guide us in a much better and smarter way...i decided to go to firangi paani after reading the reviews here....

my expreince with the place was nice...and the top most reason for that is ..it was a wed night, which apperantly is a LADIES NIGHT..and there are beers and snacks absolutely free or we girls...so u knw wht and why i am taking like dis....

it was a RETRO night and it picked up well with a nice music and sound system..but i didnt well go long enought ..the selection of songs became poorer with the passage of time and we had t leave the plc...but ya we has our 3 hrs of fun and booze dr alreayd so i didnt mind that much...

prices r ok(ya a little on the expensive side)...but being dr on a ladies night is always g8t...

ambience, they has a bar area to sit which is quite sought after...but we preferred the tables on the right as it puts you on a g8t spot whr you r away form the dance floor and strike some conversations.....

one should check this plce for once at least...i recommend !!!

Firangi paani ::: NOT BAD!!!

I have been to this place many times…. Always liked it. It’s a place where u can have an excellent time with friends.
Not at all a date place… too crammed and noisy!

Food: 3/5

The food here is not up to the mark. Mainly because the menu is very limited. They could have included a few more entrées and rice/pasta/main course dishes. There are very insufficient options for vegans. Few things fine are: Prawns Hunan entrée… approx 350-400 rs…. Big fresh prawns.
Some Chinese/hunan sizzler… comes with onion rings.. approx 400 rs.
Texas chicken wings… always favorite! Approx 350 rs.
And their fries are yummy!

Ambience: 5/5

Amazing ambience. The place looks very neat. The booths and tables are pretty comfy. You can sit at the bar too. There is a dance floor…. Which is crowded most of the time. The crowd here is good. You don’t have to constantly worry about butt grazes. And u can dance as u want…. Not many ppl are looking ;)

Drinks : 5/5

Drinks are wonderful here! That’s the main reason to visit firangi paani. It offers the best selection of wines, spirits, cigars, liquors and beers. They have remarkable section of cocktails too. The long island is divine….. So is the bloody Mary. The cosmopolitan was a little to sweet. The drinks are also on the expensive side…but worth it.

In all…it’s a great place to have a party…. Just let ur hair loose. They have ladies special night on Tuesdays I think. Sundays is karaoke. The music is really good. One time we went…they had a retro night, so had incredible time dancing to old songs.

cons:
Expensive…. I went with 10 friends, the bill came up to 13000 rs!!!
Not much for vegans or non-drinkers
LONG WAITING on weekends
Parking problems if u go on weeknds at peak timings

One of its kind..

WOW!! I've never seen a place like this.. I think this place is one of its kind in mumbai.. I mean its got that feel of an English pub.. and i really enjoyed myself... the feel of standing at the bar, sipping on the drinks and watching people dance gives a different feel... its not like how you feel in a pub or a disc..
The service could be a little better i believe... but nonetheless... i enjoyed myself...

The best music being played

Hey guys,
The music at this place....mind blowing. as other say drinks too expensive why I don't understand. The staff are not at all good. they are seriously very ok. Lots of partiality towards known people and people who are visiting for the first time since tables even empty, they say its booked.
I had been on the valentine's day with on eof my friend and the music was awesome but rest all was ok. i love this place just for music.
There is nothing FIRAANGI about it. Ambience good.
I would go this place just for music and make myself fresh.

Lousy service!!!

I agree with most of the other reviews too!!!
The first time I went here was for a buffet lunch and it was a fab experience... I went all praises about this place but the second time and the last time I went there (which is probably the last time)... i can only use one word...LOUSY!!!!
The two stars that i give it is plain for the music and the interiors...
The service is no good... the staff is extremely confused, impolite and inefficient!
The food was stale... in spite of being expensive!
Music was excellent... Drinks are good but expensive!
All in all... NO GOOD!

Pretty Good Actually!

Okay so i read every review on this place and I agree with some and disagree with most.

If you want an international feel- don't come here, there's nothing FIRANGI about it. If you want gourmet food- not this place for sure. If you want rock bottom prices- not your kind of place. BUT if you want to have a good time, chillin' with friends, listen to some good music, not be bothered about dressing up, THIS is the place for you. This place is ideal to hang out after work!!

The drinks are good- they have a healthy mix of everything you would want in a menu, including a small but sufficient wine list. Their cocktails are good, much better that several places in Mumbai, the food could be better, but they are trying to improve. The staff is cordial if you are cordial to them. I've been to this place thrice in the last 10 days and I can see a marked difference.

Must recommend the loaded fries! Must recommend their shooters.

The BEST part- there's no teeny bopper crowd begging to hear the new Miley Cyrus song!!!

This is my second tyme there and the 1st review

The prices r sky high... but the options for food isnt tht diverse...
like u a hv small variety what u can order... they have a huge menu ...with limited amout of stuff....(they stuff we ordered last tyme were pretty simalr to this tyme)
and the food is just like fine...
though my first tyme there when i had a lindt choclate shake was just out of the world.. but i guess it wasnt because of the shake but coz of the lindt choc....
newyz i have given the 2 stars because it is a very very happening place.... if u like happening places...this is a sure place to go...
but prob not with a huge group... because the deal with my friends and i going to a good expensive restos is that we can get a good variety of food...!
like yesterday i e my second tyme... our main course had just one pizza and 2 pastas of the same kind.... we dint really feel like ordering sumthing else(though we were hungry)... these were r best two options...
but i wouldnt advice sum1 to have a pizza here...
but the pastas according to me were good... not the best but... my friends werent fond of the pastas either...
soo considering the pastas and the kind of happening place it is ill give it jsut 2 stars
and yeah we dint feel like drinking .. coz the prices r like a total rip off...
And yeah damages were like almost 660 rs per person...

I have to agree....

I have to agree with the majority of the other reviewers.

The service here is pretty lame, and the the pricing prohibitive. Like others have stated happy hours is happy hours, you get a drink free, and you can do what you like with that drink, give it to a friend, or a stranger, its no business of the serving staff to restrict how you share your drinks.

I would have to agree that just 1 star probably is being a little mean to them, their food is decent quality-wise. But the overall experience of getting watered down drinks during happy hours and then having the waiters treat you so rudely, ruins any of the good stuff that this place has to offer.

They are going to have to change a heck of a lot for me to come here willingly again.

Mind you girls seem to love the ladies nights, but can you blame them? Free drinks, oh which they aren't allowed to share with any males...

Costliest Hell on earth

Too much hype have been created for this place. Actually it is all bulls**t. The place is one of the costliest in Mumbai. Two vodkas for 1300 bucks!! All kind of service charges have been charged ...but hardly good service to talk about. Moreover, you have to spend hours in waiting to get such low service and pay thru the nose. Try another place in Lokhandwala.

70's English feel - Simply rocksssss......

I can safely say that I was the first customer out here cos I got to dine here even before the restaurant was officially opened (Some shareholders had come to check the place a few days before opening) and have been there atleast 15-20 times since then, its that good.

If I have to say something abt this place in one sentenace, it would be, "The place simply ROCKSSS".

They have a huge bar with ample number of bar stools, good and comfortable seating arrangement (comfortable even if 4 people over 6 feet weighing 100kg each are seated on a table of 4), delicious starters and rocking cocktails (do try Lynchberg Lemonade if u r a whisky/scotch lover), and delicious pizzas and sizzlers, both veg and non-veg.

The service here is excellent and they play good retro/rock music. Has ample TV sets on the walls, so u dont miss on ongoing sports action as well.

Has a small dance floor but one cannot complaint about that.

Giving it 4 stars cos somehow i feel the place has become "Too Loud" of late or maybe it has just lost its charm for me.
Also, beware of their pricing strategy as they charge "Service Charge", "service Tax" and "VAT" separately, so one ends up paying at least 20-25% more as far as the drinks are concerned.
Its a bit on the expensive side, but again excellent quality comes with money, but not in this way. So ONE STAR gets chopped off out here.

Overall, an awesome experience and if u gonna be here on fridays or saturdays, make sure u r there by 8 or be prepared to wait for a table for at least a couple of hours

Great atmosphere, Good variety

Firangi Paani is one of the few places that serves up a great eased out atmoshere with great music playing. The service is good. I liked the starters but the sizzlers could do better. Being a vegetarian I was pleased with the variety on the menu.

Overall, a great place to chill out with friends. However, it is slightly on the expensive side. A meal for two would cost around 750 without drinks. Oh, yeah and the 10% service charge coupled with the taxes does make things quite a bit more expensive.

Would go again.

Share:

Five Star Pretentious S**T

Two vodkas for 1300 bucks! i mean...gimme a better definition of extortion! The place aims to be like Geoffrey's but sadly the people wont let it be! All the crowd leaves their tables and heads for the bar...as if there was some free booze...quite sad house music and the wannabe starlets we were brushing shoulders with were worse....

Happy hours a farce in here

Have come here a couple of times, but the last time we decided to visit this place was, we decided to cash in on the happy hours which is till 945pm --one plus one free on kingfisher beer, romanav vodka, bacardi run and a couple of other mundane drinks fit for drink back during college days in hostels.

Nevertheless, on asking the waiter to get a bacardi limon (180/- SMALL) one plus one free, he had the cheek to tell me that I can't share it with the person I had come along with and both pegs have to be had by me. Now that's what puts one's mood off--- HAPPY HOURS means a drink free, telling a customer to have two pegs all by himself and not share it firstly very rude, secondly it's gonna be a costly affair at the expense of consuming forcibly "free" alcohol".

So folk's if you are looking for place during happy hours I'd rather suggest TGIF, which is next door at INFINITI MALL and has everything free including cocktails and no concept of not sharing with your partner

Finrangi Pani's ambience, music is good but it's hell expensive, about a 180-200 for a drink, and 400 for a food stuff, overall about 700 per head if you have couple of drinks and something to eat. and of course RUDE RUDE waiters

British Feel.

This is the best place i've been to. A mild dim ambience with ample space and huge tables. A ground level stage is placed so the band can perform in front of the crowd. Good food, new drinks and vintage drinks [damn costly] but its one place where you'll surely forget that your in your country.

Hi, read ur comment,

But sorry, u don't get the picture right.

Restaurants and eating joints everywhere spend a lot of money in interiors and decor, if they sell diet cola for 40/- and bottled water for 20/- or even 30/- Rs.

Many couples (who just want to burn time) will come and sit in their restaurant, and will order only the cola and water.

And what will the restaurant get? Business loss as it looses a table for 2 hours and they get hardly 50/- Rs on bill.

I am right coz i see in every 5 star hotel, people who just want to hang around, come and sit for hours coz they get free ac and all the services.

I think the charges are justified! Coz u cannot tell a couple to move out if they are sitting chatting and talking for hours and hours after ordering a cola!

And ya, firangi pani is nice but overpriced, but it doesnt matter, as they have made a great place which is always going packed!

I love the sizzlers there!

Best scene in Andheri?

Perhaps. This place gets packed on the weekends with your well-to-do western suburban young professional elite, plenty of them puffing away (be warned: you will smell as if you walked out of a casino in Vegas - namely, smokey...). The joint has got a great, long wooden standing bar, just like how bars are SUPPOSED to be, and this encourages a great standing bar culture, something I have long felt Bombay sorely needs! The music is great classical rock, with some new tunes sprinkled throughout (Jack Johnson, Coldplay, John Mayer, etc.), so people are ensured to have a great time humming and dancing along. The menu is your usual artery-clogging bar food - cheesy french fries, piled-high nachos, onion rings - you get the picture. They've got Kingfisher on tap, so that's a big plus.

The bartenders here are nice, and mix up some decent drinks - we were surprised when they knew what a dirty martini was - I guess that happens when you set your bar low!

All in all, would definitely go back again and again. Great scene for just about anybody - couples, guys/gals night out, or an after-work drink. Make sure to check out when they've got live music gigs going on - mostly rock cover bands from what I hear. Rock on.

Frangi ho ya Firangi

One of those places where the wife managed to visit first & give the signal.....Some friends had overseas visitors & all of them decided to celebrate.

Guess they took pity on me, at home with a torn ligament, sent the passat over to pick me up in style. Getting down, was mistaken by two ladies for a singer......accompanied to the level 3, where the greeter & chini mini threw some attitude, but Luck favors....the manager of the place, an old sun n sand friend whisked me & the ladies right in. Bid them good bye & sat with boys & girls to have a time...

Tried out a variety of starters all of them uniformly good, however the sauces, dips were severely lacking, had to constantly ask for refills.

After a gala time, demolishing a couple of bottles of fancy wine(don't ask the names); whiskey, tequila & what have you, paid(this is one amount that will be imprinted) but WTF someone else's entertainment bill....however luckily, checked the total...& lo there was a service charge quietly tucked in, so did restrain ourselves on the tip factor.

Overall a good place, where would definitely visit again, but the loud music puts you off, the mix of music does not go with the decor, service needs to be brushed up, particularly on a tuesday.

Will check it out when a buddy Keith vegas plays there.

The Great ambience

We went on Friday nite and since we reached at 8 it was quite empty but filled up fast. The restaurant is huge with a small dance floor. That day there was live music which the manager told me is usually on on Tue and Thu.

As other BJN restaurants the service and ambience here is really good.

Unfortunately the food lacks and is strictly ok. Maybe its just that no one can really pull off the American diner, I mean if you look at TGIF or Ruby Tuesday.

We ordered nachos and tortillas. The quantity of the salsa and cheese dip with the tortillas was very little and anything extra that you ordered was chargeable. The nachos quantity was huge but it was too dry with very little topping. The minestrone soup was also ok and the prawn starters my firends ordered were left virtually untouched. The pasta was also ok. The sizzling brownie was disappointing with too little chocolate sauce (the menu mentions double chocolate sauce I think) and on asking for more they are like its chargeable.

Damages: Not sure since it was a treat

It is a great place to go for a drink especially when theres live music but for food look else where.

Disappointment x 2

We were turned away twice last weekend.

Day 1 - Friday night - my husband and I walk in at 10:00. The east indian girl at the desk asks a manager if they can accommodate the two of us, he flatly refuses on hearing 'two people' and says 'tell them the wait is one hour'. The tone in his voice and the wave of hand gave me the impression that he would have been more kind had we been a larger group.

Day 2- Sunday night- Shameless foodies that we are, we want to give this new place in the neighbourhood one more chance. To be safe we get there at 8:30, arranging to meet some friends directly outside the restaurant. But since one of our friends was wearing shorts we were refused entry yet again. Ironically, that friend is a firangi.

Hostility personified - that too twice! But unfortunately, for lack of better places in our neighbourhood, I cannot say I will never visit this place again.

Average Lounge Bar and Eatery

Hello

I don't have much to say, since there was nothing very special I could find about this place:
- nice place for friends to eat
- nice place for drinks
- they do have a dance floor area, so you can dance too while you eat
- they have a bar area for chilling out..if you don't want to have a sit-down meal/drinks

OVERALL: Little over average prices, for an Indian restaurant-chain to do so, example - 140 Rs. for onion rings + taxes, 60rs for bottled water + taxes

If TGI's or Ruby Tuesday are charging such prices, I can imagine GOVT taxes, and international taxes coming in on those prices, but for an Indian restaurant to charge this exorbitant is a little ridiculous. don't you think ?

- Interiors are a good copy/mix of TGI and Ruby Tuesday.

1. Q' How does our govt allow restaurants to charge so high for packaged products, like bottled water if sold for 12 or 15 rs, should not be sold for more than 30 Rs max, diet coke max 40rs (unlike 150+ tax in ruby Tuesday), (they are not cooking the water, nor the Diet Coke)

I think there should be some price control on packaged products in restaurants and even 5 stars.

OK - if you want the math, here goes:
15rs water
+ 12.5%
+ 20% Service charge (which only hotels are allowed, that too only if ordered from the room, no restaurants are allowed service charges)
====
19.87 RS - this includes VAT + Service Charges, then why are products like water/diet cokes, allowed to charge more than that?

Please let me know if you agree, and someone out there can take any action ?
