fun time with drinks
I had been to this place over the weekend with a couple of friends of mine. The place is really lively and pleasant.the ambiance is great and the DJ keeps the mood alive. We called for a few starters like the kalmari murgh tikka, malai seek kabab and fish fingers..the food is decent and the quantity is suffice. We had beer and the screw driver cocktail. Over all we had a really good time and we enjoyed a discount since we made or reservations through URBAN RESTRO. Quick tip- reservations are preferred specially on weekends.
Fun..food and music....
Right in the heart of city..this place was quite an unexpected treat for us city livers...Loved the small handkerchief garden where high chairs were placed..slightly tricky to sit on them but was worth it...the soups were amazing...the starters were good in terms of quality and quantity...drinks were super....
we were a group of four had to shell out 1000 each...which I think was good..there was a small dance floor in the lounge where we danced a little bit...nice Bollywood music...they played some good English numbers as well..all in all nice place..
This place comes as a refreshing place for Andheri crowd, especially the east side! Located in MIDC, near Ackruti Business park. Located one the second floor of Hotel Aura Grande.
This place is divided into two halves, indoors and outdoors. With this heat, we preferred sitting inside, though outside seemd lucrative with green carpeting and fountains.
Inside is all decked up for big groups.. with sofas and comfy sitting. The bar is all set and looks good. When we enter at 8.30, this place is dead, on a Saturday. But at the night proceeds, within in an hour, this place is lively and bustling. IPL matches with happy hours till midnight, is a crowd puller.
The ambiance is pretty nice and the music is good. Though in between the dj started playing backstreet boys! Coming to the food. Very limited options for veg. And its an all chinese menu, so please do not think its going to multi cuisine as mentioned here.
We ordered 2 mocktails (1+1) with crispy corn. For main course it was a all veg fried rice (which came with corn) and Manchurian. The taste was o.k. Nothing great.
Damage 1380, which included 3 types of tax. Make sure you ask what all the taxes are!
The Worse Hotel in Mumbai !!
Extremely Over rated and costly hotel for group party. Please minutely check your bill because they used to do goof up in bills and this happened with us and experience first time this kind of blunder in Mumbai. Secondly, they served cold food and even tasteless too.
Great music with huge sofas
Been here on a friday evening post work with a friend...We were seated in big hige soft sofas..comfy for sitting but extrememly uncomfortable for eating bcz it ends up being lower than the table where the food is placed...so we really had to stretch our hands or sit at the edge of the sofa...
The Music was superb....very good...enjoyed the music. even asked the DJ to play Akon on request which he very sweetly did. So it was really good.
Food - Veg Crispy waterchestnut was good, & crispy. The veg crispy was good.. Tandoori mushrooms were good. The portions were very large for 2 of us...
Ordered Mango bloom & Virgin Mojito...Both mocktails were good. Mojito was refreshing after a days work.
Reasonably priced - also it price was VFM...Service was friendly. We also got a 15% discount.
So it was well worth a friday evening...entered by approx 7.15 or so , got out at 10.25 pm....so was a lovely way to start the weekend.
Decent drinking joint
The first problem was when we ordered for grilled mushrooms as a starter. A Mexican festival was on and so we got the dish with salad, salsa and some veggies on the side. There were multiple problems.
* The first and biggest issue was that the salsa was made out of tomato ketchup. It was a convenient workaround to making salsa correctly and we told the waiter we wanted salsa that was made without ketchup. The waiter asked his chef, came back and told us that it wasn't ketchup, but tomato sauce. I dunno what he was trying to prove. Anyway, he then said that the chef said that he'd try to whip up what we were asking for. The second salsa helping was a 100 times better.
* The veggies on the side were soggy. I have a feeling that while they were being sautéed, the lid was closed in order to cook them faster, making them soggy. The brinjal was soft and bitter (two things that I don't like brinjals to be). I strongly think that veggies on the side of a dish should have a crispness to them - something that was lacking here. I haven't had good brinjals anywhere really, except at Sammy Sosa, where they maintain a nice texture and brilliant taste.
We then ordered for a non-veg platter, which had some good and some average items. The prawns tikka / tandoori were really good, the mutton sheekh kababs were great, the fish had zero taste and the chicken kababs were not as juicy as they should've been. That's the gist of it all. We asked for another serving of the prawns again. That's the only great taste I'll be taking back from here. Green Jade is from the Saffron Spice building, with the same management. Saffron Spice also has average to below-average food, so this was expected.
The only reason we went there, was because we wanted to drink close to home and happy hours till 9 pm (one on one free) over here meant that we could drink a lot of beers!
Why do they have two menus? The first menu had only Chinese dishes and we asked them if this was all they had. That's when they came back with another menu - this time Indian! The dishes were the usual Chinese and Indian. Nothing new or experimental. Since it was a Mexican festival, I'd expected to be a whole lot of Mexican dishes, but there was just one little menu on the table with some 8 items. Not happening.
Restaurant staff was friendly. I'm not very happy with the "it's not ketchup, it's tomato sauce" discussion, but apart from that, it was okay. Once we were a few beers down, we even got one staff guy to take a picture with a friend!
The place looks good. The bar is also well lit. The only thing I didn't like is that just at the entrance of the washrooms, and inside as well, there was water dripping from the ceiling. At some places, buckets were kept to hold the water even! Most people weren't drunk, therefore weren't dancing on their seats, except the table next to ours (we'd like to believe it was our effect). When the place closed at 1:30 am, most people had already left. We and the other dancing table were the only ones left. Better crowd needed.
Value for money
Thanks to happy hours, and us drinking beer instead of whiskey, the bill came up to Rs. 600 per head. Good VFM!
If you work at Seepz of MIDC (and a lot of people work here), this place is great for after office!
And in conclusion...
Definitely a thumbs up if your focus is drinks, and food is by the way!
