Good place for veggies
This place suits me as I am a vegetarian. I used to go to this place quite often in my college days and still remains my first option when in Malad (provided I wanna have Indian). The soup here is really good. The dosas are good too. From the price point - don't assume that it is priced like any other normal veg restaurant. It is a little on the higher side, but not enough to burn a hole in your pocket. But just know it as a fact rather than dropping the jaw after seeing the menu. The quality however justifies the price. Overall, a good place to eat.
not so good !
I went to greens with my 5 friends along in may ! there was no place in ac dining ! so we had to sit outside in hot may season .we ordered panner chilly & veg crispy ! the paneer was not at all fresh and the veg crispy was also not good ! we went ahead and ordered triple schezwan fried rice ! It wasn't good ! not hot enough too ! overall ! it was a bad experience & prices too are high in accordance to the food they serve
Lovely Food In Malad
One of the best south Indian restaurants in Malad... On any given weekend you will have to wait for a table for atleast 15-20 minutes.
This is a best place for having a healthy south Indian breakfast. For big meals like lunch and dinner, it offers good North Indian food as well. (Try Paneer Tikka Masala with butter Naan)
For lazy foodies, the home delivery service is good as well
Good Veg Food
A family place. Location is good. Near inorbit mall and on Link Road. Greens is a good place for veg food. It is authentic and serves fresh food always. The south Indian is very nice and has lot of options. The Punjabi food is also worth a try and whenever I visit there, I always enjoyed my food. The ambiance is also fine. Nothing to complain about. A regular eating place though. Try for a regular weekend lunch/dinner. Thanks
Worth every bite ...
Greens is my fav places to eat. It is authentic and serves fresh food always. Its never been disappointing eating here. The south indian is very authentic and they serve everything that you can think of. The punjabi food is great, the must haves are paav-bhaaji, their lassi, paneer mumtaaz and anything south indian. The ambiance is more like a typical south-indian shetty run restaurant but if you mean business, i mean if you are looking for good quality food then be there. Cheers
Love The Name Not The Food
A typical south indian joint that tries to serve everything under one place. Well, this place is definitely not good for Punjabi cuisine.
Had been here with my family to fill our stomachs with good food. Had ordered Paneer Butter Masala, Mushroom Koliwada and butter rotis.
Paneer Butter Masala - Yellowish gravy with paneer chunks (we were told it will be drown gravy and medium spicy). The veggie was absolute bland, tasteless, less salt. Gravy was watery and was not spicy / medium spicy at all. The only good thing was the soft paneer.
Mushroom Koliwada - Looks like they were having too much of orange color with them. Holi can be played in monsoon with the amount of color that had went into this. Pathetic looking, bad taste, was told it will be with red gravy. Well, search for the gravy, if you find it, its a jackpot for you.
Rotis - Uncooked really well. Are tandoor rotis so soft and non crispy? Well, a new type of tandoori roti was made here.
Food - 1/5
Ambience - 2.5/5
Service - 3/5
Quality - 3/5
Nothing to really love about it apart from the name.
Decent Food ..Bad Service !
A confused restaurant with decent taste is what i think about this place.
They serve all the indian vegetarian cuisines and over an above that they serve Indian chinese and indian italian as well.
Favorite amongst the gujjus of sub urbs the place is always buzzing.
Chilli panneer is good.
Biryani is decent and some mumtaz paneer is pleasing.
Food is decent but service is bad.
Very Good Food.. :)
Been to this place couple of times and have always enjoyed eating here...They offer South Indian,Punjabi and Chinese Food...Food quality and quantity is good enough...Restaurant is fairly priced...I would highly recommend this place...
The service is very prompt and the ambiance is pretty good...They have a Party Section too...
have been here number of times with family, waiting is a tad too high, more than 20 mins everytime and more so on weekends.
service is damn fast.
both south indian and punjabi fare is tasty.
the waiters can be asked to be more courteous but that u hardly expect of a udipi restaurant.
All in all, a good desi place to visit.
Home delivery - prompt but non-courteous on phone
They deliver any thing and everything but dont have time to talk or listen to you. Customer is of no value to them except when you go there and as mentioned in one of the posts, the waiters keep on staring if one is a female.
I ordered a dal-khichdi today and it was delivered in 10 mins although it was half filled. I called them again and after explaining the same thing to 4 different persons, they said, it was due to the high rush on Sunday !!! Interesting :) !!! On asking them for the full dal khichdi a couple of times, they agreed on sending it. This time they took 1 hour to deliver!!! Interesting again ...
This is not the first time they have made a mess. It has happened to me earlier ... Seems I will keep my hands off GREENS.
Highly Not Recommended.
Multiple Experience - Good
If you see below, you will see my first review of this place which was absolutely a disaster.
Then one day around a month back, I tried their Indian fare and since then I am ordering from here regularly every week !
Although my first review as based on South-Indian fare and I am yet to again try it out, but for Indian fare this place is fab.
Quantity is very very generous, 2 dishes can easily serve 4 people.
I have been going for home delivery so far and still I can say their rotis/nans are the best. So if you go and have, for sure it will be a much better experience.
Try it out !
Waiter keep asking aur aur??
wanna say something about this restaurant Greens...most of the time i used order from this place and the south indian food is also good especially the tomato onion uttapa but whenever i used to call them and give order the person who answer the phone will ask u 10 times aur..aur... its so irritating !! if i order for 2-3 dishes or sometime 1 but they will keep asking u aur aur aur????? that's the reason i've stopped ordering.
First experience - Awful !
I am still amazed, why is this place so crazy full on Sundays. I have also heard people recommending their idlis, so i thought of trying one today.
Firstly at 22 bucks, its more pricier than its counterparts.
It came with Sambar and 2 chutneys. All were awful.
Sambar was so very sweet and so less taste of sambar. It was a horrifying deep red in color and oil was floating all over.
Both chutneys were just as bad.
So my first experience has been very very bad.
Just about 2 mins walk from this place is Subkuch and is 1000 times better than this one.
But just so for considering their crazy waiting time on Sundays, i may give it one more try, but of course no South Indian delicacies at all !
The waiters keep staring
if you are a female or you are going with one, dont step into this restaurant. the favourite pasttime of waiters here is to stare continuously at female customers. it happened on both the occasions i went. i did complain to the manager. so no point in commenting about food, etc
Quintessential Udipi fare
Why is that all the Udipi joints resemble each other not just in decor and fare but even in the menu design? Malad has several Udipi restaurants run by Shettys (probably because of the predominant strictly veg Gujurati crowd here). And they all have the same dishes, the same decor, the same kind of waiters, the same taste... everything is no indistinguishable from one another.
Greens has your pav bhaji stall right at the entrance, just like all other Udipi joints. And the menu, while being extensive, has the same uninspiring fare. The taste is similar to what you get at any Shiv Sagar or Sai Sagar restaurant strewn all over the place. I wish they would just come up with at least one unusual dish.
Service is prompt. You can stick to the regular hara bhara kababs, dal fry/tadka, jeera fried rice, veg kolhapuri and papad, if you are not the experimenting types. Or you can go for the slightly differently named dishes which ultimately will be the same fare.
Nothing great to write home about, this place.
