Wholesome Meal at Grillopolis

I had last been to Grillopolis quite some months back and had had a good experience. I had an office colleagues birthday and we few guys wanted to dine out with some drinks. The best option was a buffet and when we say buffet, whats better than Grillopolis!

With over 50 dishes offered to you in the spread, it is absolutely great value for money. At the end of the day you know what you will end up paying. So coming to the menu, we loved the starters- special mention to the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Mustard Button Mushrooms, and the Turkish Lebnah kebab. The mains were nice too. I am a big fan of their Turkish Khabsa so I majorly stuck to that.

With the drinks and food for 5 of us, the overall bill was 3800!! Pretty decent to be honest, for the kind of ambience and quality this place offers you.

Awesome food!

The food here is great. The enchiladas are brilliant but definitely their frenchfries are to die for

The service is good and quick and is slightly heavy on the wallet - but definitely worth the experience.

Great place for food

Loved the place and the wide variety of starters, main course and desserts since I opted for a buffet lunch. The ambiance is brilliant and its got the best non vegetarian fare and the most delicious grilled fish. A good place to go with family, friends or team.

Ambience copiousness

I had been here for my birthday. I must say though the location isn't the easiest to find the restaurant outsmarts it . People usually complain as to the images of the inside being photoshopped etc. but it is exactly like the pictures.
Now about the food, starters are the highlight with the meat portions being grilled to perfection. One special mention would be the weekday offer of free cocktails and mocktails that make the buffet experience enjoyable.
The main course however is pretty average continental food . they have an amazing mud cake for dessert which made my day

Tasteless and Disappointing

Decided to give a friend a farewell at Grillopolis and turns out that we will never forget this dinner... unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.

I have visited Grillopolis twice before. The first instance was a decent experience but the second one was kind of ok ok. Thought of giving them a chance to redeem themselves but it was a horrible experience.

The starters were the start of it. Cold and tasteless. The fish was salty, the paneer was burnt, the fried chicken wings felt like they were deep fried more than once, the mushroom seekh just dint look appetising, the small potatoes were hard and the prawns simply had no taste to them. It was like having bland fried prawns.

We were so totally put off that we reluctantly went for the main course. Again the only think worth applauding was the hot naan and rotis that they got on our table. Not a single person went for a second helping. We were so upset with the way that the dinner was going that most people skipped the dessert. They have a limited choice of dessert but again those who did have the dessert, left half of it in the plate.

The next day 4 out of the 5 of us had upset stomach and cursed the previous nights dinner even more.

Dont think I am ever visiting that restaurant nor will i recommend it to anyone else. This is my first review and i had to create my account to let people know. Rs.800 per head was a total rip off and this time it is not even about the money....

Awesome starters

Loved their food. My tamil friend and me being veggies loved their starters. The other two friends were meat eaters...they loved their food too. So it was a fulfilling evening for us :D Although the buffet spread is not too diverse but whatever is offered is really tasty and after their elaborate starters, you wont even care for the main course.

Highly disappointed

The first time I visited Grillopolis I fell in love with the place. The starters were great with so much variety. King prawns, grilled fish, lamb kebabs, cottage cheese everything was well cooked and piping hot.

Visited again after two and a half years and was disappointed with food, service everything. The srarters were not half as good as the first time and main course below average. Returned kind of heart broken. I really wish that this place gets it's lost charm, quality and taste back.

Grillopolis the main course buffet is worth spending some time at. So make sure u leave Home Empty Stomach

Deserts again have the usual suspects and all pretty decent.

The staff is really prompt and friendly
All in all a really good culinary treat.

amazing!

Amazing place to be!
Went there this Saturday, having booked a table for 8.30 and reaching an hour late, still provided with a place in 2 minutes, even when they were brimming with people.

We were seated upstairs, which had a low light setting, with screens and dj playing music, which I thought was a little too loud. Nonetheless, it was good music! :)

The staff is very courteous, even when we were asked to shift to the family room because of some overflowing party, the manager apologized at least 3 times!

Now coming to the food.. it was bliss!

With starters like cottage cheese with Parmesan cheese, jowar ke kebab, mushroom balls.. and rest i dont even remember the name. There was this starter to be specific, which was not very good (mushroom kebabs on palak roti)

Coming to the main course, being a vegetarian, can tell you it was very very good. With 3 cheese risotto, spinach filled dish (i dont remember the name) paneer pasanda, bhindi, Baigan n mirch ka salan, rajma, dal makhni and steam rice and breads.. this was a complete meal!

And desserts.. it was like cherry on cake.. with caramel pudding, chocolate truffle pastry, fresh fruit pastry, strawberry souffle, phirni, gajar ka halwa and fresh fruits.. You cannot ask for more!

With drinks and food, our bill came close to 1850 for 2. Totally worth it!

Definitely a visit once again! :)

GRILLOPOLIS

Had been to Grillipolis a while ago but hadn't had the time to write a review. Well, to start with, the ambiance itself is very appealing with a grand entrance area. The seating arrangements seem convenient and comfortable at the ground level for the buffet section.

When it comes to the food, delicious is not even the word! They have an elaborate buffet which has equal number of veg and non-veg options. There are 5 grilled starters each alongwith many options for the main course ranging from Indian to Chinese to Italian to Mediterranean. So lot of variety to choose from. Same applies for the dessert section. Since I am a vegetarian, I really enjoyed the buffet for that particular day except for the dishes with mushroom. My non-vegetarian friend had a better time I can tell.

Service seems very prompt and courteous. They know what they're doing and if asked, have the courtesy to explain in detail. They were also kind enough to show us their upper level, the lounge section, after we were done with our meal.

Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this place to any food lover who enjoys an elaborate buffet in a cozy environment. Make sure you guys go there empty stomach though! :-)

One of the Best Meals I've had

Several people had recommended we try Grillopolis and we were definitely not disappointed! The buffet was delicious and had a huge variety to choose from.Great food selection ( Indian, Continental, Mediterranean fusion) Service was impeccable. Prices just justify what they offer. Overall a well maintained and worth a visit place.

Naam Badein Darshan Chottey

I am not sure why this place has been rated 4. I with my wife thought of enjoying a weeknight having good food and decided to visit Grillopolis. The starters were served with no time but only once. The plates were empty and wanted to have another round of fish & chicken kebab, we were waiting for 15 minutes but no one attended us, till the time we had to call the waiter again. Chicken Khapcha, supposed to have tender chicken, however the chicken was overboiled and was hard. In non veg main course Mediterranean Food type was missing except the Chicken Khapcha which almost had a regular biryani saffron flavor. Not to miss the Shahi tukda which can be called as Rubber Tukda. After complaining regarding the Shahi Tukda was removed but not replaced by any other item. Not a good food place at all. Hope Mr Sharan makes a note of all the above mentioned points.

Perfect Place for Relaxation

Have been to Grillopolis several times due to it's homely ambiance. It was my parents' 25th wedding anniversary. Usually, I visit Grillopolis just to chill, hang out with friends coz it makes me feel relaxed. This time i planned to take my family out there and once again it was at its best. They booked the special booth for my celebration. I was so overwhelmed with their arrangements. Coming to the food part....It was scrumptious! with such a good spread mix of Indian & Continental.. I felt d starters were amazing...mouth watering with good presentation.
Not just that. I was very touched in the end when they arranged for a complimentary cake without my knowledge. It was a memorable evening

A Horrible Experience

On a Friday night and we landed up at Grillopolis @ around 10.00 pm. One of the staff helped us to the 1st floor of the restaurant and gave us a seat by the bar. He said that starters will be served here and once a table is empty on the ground floor he will give us a place to have our main course buffet. We accepted the offer and what happened after that for almost 1.5 hrs was a nightmare.. We were not served any starters for the first 30-35 mins (as promised). After my wife complained they got us a few starters. The service was horrible and after 1.5 hours we just decided to walk out of the place. The communication between the staff was so bad that each one would give us a diffrent time as to when we can expect a table. Finally when we expressed our desire to pay the bill and walk out, we were offered a table. After a lot of argument with the staff they accepted the fact that they lied to us about the availability and were least bothered or ashamed of the fact that they lied.
They didnt charge us for the buffet but spoiled our Friday evening. We were so irritated that night that we slept without food. I hope Mr Sharan takes note of this!!

Mesmerizing evening

So finally after a long long wait, landed along with my foodie partner to Grillopolis. I've always been keeping updated with all the reviews people write about grillopolis and I just couldnt wait any more..
Though I love trying out different cuisines, but Indian food is always on my top chart and when I read about the food festival menu by chef Harpal at Grillopolis...Bang on....
Went there for their dinner buffet.
As you enter the gates, you get the feel of some mansion kind of an illusion at the start...Their royal entrance gates make you feel like you are visiting some kind of a royal bash. Literally amazing and splendid.
And once you enter, you're transformed into an altogether another world...what a mesmerizing place yaa...We were greeted by the manager there who escorted us to our tables.
Sitting: very very comfortable...you just wont feel like getting up..surely gonna make u a couch potato for the next 2 hours...
we called for one veg and one non veg buffet. Veg buffet is priced at 600+taxes and non veg is I guess around 800 with taxes along with a drink each. They have an option of alcoholic as well as non alcoholic choice of drinks. I called for a Kiwi Iced tea (The best i've had so far) and my friend ordered a whiskey.
Can get a little expensive for a casual dinner, but totally worth for those special memories and moments that you're gonna spend with ur special ones and ofcorse for the amount of food you're gonna gulp down your bellies.
The starters did take a little while to arrive but we were in no hurry. So we really did not mind. While the starters were being brought to our table, we were served a basket of warm breads along with 2 kinds of dips/sauces. The breads were coated with garlic butter..so tender and fluffy, it instantly melts in your mouth..
And now arrived our starters...I'll comment on the veg ones, since I am a vegetarian but my friend equally praised the non veg grills as well which included fish, prawns, lamb, chicken and mutton I guess.
The veg starter I loved the most was cottage cheese with parmesan cheese..I've never ever tasted a combination of paneer and cheese together and trust me it was just superb.
Then came some kind of kebab made of Jowar.. I was a bit reluctant to try it, but one bite and I was blown off..crisp, light and yummy...
There were a couple of other kebabs namely mushroom ones and another cottage cheese kebab which somehow did not appeal to my taste bud..Though I was quite filled with the ones I loved..
Now the main course: Restricting my review to the veg ones
Did not try the salads..not really fond of salads.
Started with baby carrot soup which was so so light yet very very flavourful.Loved it.
1.Three cheese risotto- too good
2. Lasagna- good enough
3. Aloo khada masala- yum yum
4. Rajma masala- again too good
5.Veg kofta- again v good
There were other things too in the main course like paneer kadai, peas pulav, dal makhni..which I could not try as I wanted to keep a little room vacant for the best part of the buffet-DESSERTS!!! But I am sure they most have been equally fantastic.
Also the Indian breads were tender and prepared to perfection.
Now the desserts:
1.Carrot halwa
2.Chocolate pastries-2 kinds
2.Fruit cake
3.fruit tart
4.meetha dahi
5.cut fruits
6.peanut butter pastry- I disliked coz i dislike peanuts..
I tried all the desserts and I just have two words to some it up- HEAVEN..BLISS..
My first visit here has left me with such an exotic experience..I just cant wait any longer to go back again..
HATS OFF TO YOU GRILLOPOLIS...u made our day..kudos and cheers...

Disappointing birthday!

Well here i am at grillopolis celebrating my birthday with a bad start! So they don't reserve a table ( they reserved it) but when we reached here we were not given a table but made to sit in the bar area!! With my parents and family waiting!! good buffet. recommended more for non veg than veg

Its one of the best buffets I have ever had. The vegetarian menu is not as good as the non-veg, especially starters. Including taxes, the buffet costs around 750Rs per head as of today (16-01-2012). But compared to other restaurants and their buffet menu, its not really that big an amount. Gives lot of choices too. All in all, would really recommend to try it.

Deserted :(

I have been thrice to this place and love it for being different in terms of cuisine. I mean nowhere will you find good Biryani sharing space with an equally good Spanish payella (ok, it could be less gravy-filled).

But the deserts are a disappointment. A lady called me to ask my opinion and when I told her I didn't like my 'Just Deserts", she just hung up !

Henceforth I too am 'hung up' against going here.

Awesome place-I am delighted

Went there for the dinner buffet...and i must say i am delighted...Although there were comparatively less options for vegetarians in the main course, but there were good ones....i started with the starters...there was some potato cheese starter which was really good...other mediterranean starters were excellent...in the main course the 3 cheese rissotto was nice..but common it is irritating to see dal served at a mediterranean restaurant...there was some indian cuisine served in the main course---less that it was good....desserts were limited..tasted nice though.
i have even tried the tallest bombay drink....OMG! What should i say more..
They do serve nice mocktails and cocktails for sunday buffet
i would definitely want to go back for those starters and drinks!
they have a liquid buffet going on which sounds interesting...and i am planning my next visit :)

Hi Yuvi, Thanks for the feedback. Glad that you enjoyed our fare. We serve a limited share of Indian because of primarily two reasons. 1) We cater to families and pretty often they are accompanied by older parents or younger children. Often they are non adventurous with their taste buds and seek a sense of comfort in known dishes. 2) 85% of our guests are Indian, who majorly find the best of meals incomplete if it does not conclude with a Indian breads / rice and dal.
After the starters, although the main course is mostly redundant but gues

Extremely disappointed

I've been meaning to write this review since a long time but haven't had the chance to do so. I visited Grillopolis for the 2nd time on the 17th of October for my mom's birthday dinner. We were seated promptly by your staff as the restaurant was nearly empty anyway.
Now considering the fact that I had been here previously around 2 years back somewhere in March 2011, the quality has deteriorated considerably. First time I came to this restaurant, I was wowed by the food. We were served delicious starters, were given drinks for free (at that time it was included in the buffet) and the main course had plenty of variety with some delectable dishes that left you licking your fingers. Unfortunately, I can't state the same for this visit. I was really let down by the quality of the food and felt that the meat was stale and undercooked. For example, I and my family members tried the chicken wings which were rather chewy and we had to remove portions onto our plate. The prawns were OK nothing special, pepper chicken was too spicy, lamb cutlets were average, paneer was again OK and the pomfret had way too many bones making it almost inedible. I mean there wasn't a single starter that we were impressed by or craved to have more of. The main course was even worse, a sheer let down. The food was rather cold inspite of being in a hot plate, tasteless and I vividly remember having a few spoonfuls of the biryani that's all. None of us enjoyed our dinner and I was quite sad that I couldn't take my Mom to a better place on her birthday. The desserts were very limited and nothing exceptional.
What I did find rude was that whilst we were still dining at around 12.30 past midnight, the staff started switching off lights on the other side of the restaurant and taking off the food from the hot plate. I mean although it was just us and another couple dining at the time, I think they shouldn't have started winding up infront of us as that gave us the impression that they were indirectly hinting at us to leave soon. The interiors of the restaurant are stunning and spacious but the major factor that is the food has put us off from visiting your restaurant again. I did mention to the Manager that it was my Mom's birthday and he could have done something special for us but I don't really think they cared. Alas, you've definitely lost out on a customer!

May I request that you allow us to redeem ourselves? We would like to invite your group back again as our guests and showcase what we have always stood for. Good Food. Go

God Starters and A good place to party

Had been here for a friend's bday treat. He had booked the entire private room on the 1st floor. There was a package dela of unlimited drinks and food for some 1100 something and it was absolutely worth it. We were welcomed by a Champagne drink at the entrance. The starters and kebabs were really good, the main course was also good.
Good place to be for a treat or ocassion ask them for a package deal and book one of the private seating rooms above if you have a large group.

Highly Overrated and not worth the Money at all

After high recommendations from all the burrpers, I decided to pay a visit to this place in Andheri. The location of this place was very shady , however the interiors are very well done. We decided t otry the buffet as we had heard it was very good. The starters were average at best, not all the starters were even warm, the biggest disappointment however was the main course and the desserts. The veg main course was tasteless and lacked any sort of variety. Expecting that the desserts would be good, however they appeared stale to me. Not a good experience at all overall.

A real letdown !

We went for a buffet dinner yesterday to celebrate a birthday! Had heard great views about the place and were bitterly disappointed with the food. The chicken starters were dry and tasteless. The pitta bread served was like a piece of leather.I think the garlic toast looked as if made a day before. The consistency of the polenta in the main course was like kheer, the soups were tasteless! The only saving grace was the wine risotto. The chicken biryani had no chicken pieces. We thought the desserts might feel our stomachs but the brownies were stale and the sweet soaked slices were cold swimming in a syrup! Don't know whether the quality has deteriorated soo much.....the whole family was bitterly disappointed with the experience !

Good experience

Opted for the lunch buffet. The Parmesan grilled chicken was good,as was the Lamb seekh kabab. The Paneer tikka was succulent .Also Liked teh Mushrrom Galouti kabab. The Shrimps were good. The COld grilled chickn with mango dressing gets a thumbs-down.
The Shrimps in Tangerine sauce was yum,as was teh CHicken thigh with Roasted potatoes. The Seafood Pistara with teh Seafood Pasta was a delicious combo.Mutton dum biryani was good too.
Desserts - SHahi Tukda with Cream was a sure-fire with all in the grp. Also the CHoc brownie.

The only grouse was teh starter service at the table was relatively slow at a time when our stomachs were rumbling ! :P

Buffet here I come again!

This is my second review for Grillopolis and I cannot help but write it; just to appreciate the fact that they have maintained the quality of their food so well. My friend wanted to try a new place and spend some quality girly time so I suggested Grillopolis.

We opted for the buffet as usual because I can never get enough of it. This time we were served carrot and ginger soup, beetroot cutlets which were yummy! other starters were just as good like stuffed potatoes, eggplant with mozzarella, corn dipped in some sweet sauce which we somehow didnt like and paneer. The main course was good too which included the very tasty spaghetti arabiatta and risotto; yellow dal, plan rice and fruit pulav, white gravy based vegetable and mized vegetable chinese style curry i dont remember the name of. The desserts were divine! The moose cake and the cream alongwith the chocolate browny were just so good.
They also have an option for complimentary wine/iced tea/cold drink which goes well with the food.

We sat there a long time tasting almost everything we could fill out stomach with and catching up on a lot of stuff. The service was good too, though, towards the end since it was closing time for them they hurried us a bit but it is ok.

Grillopolis, I would come here anytime anyone asks me to because this is one of the places which serves great food and has an equally great and classy ambiance.

Food:- 5/5

always a treat

i have now been to grillopolis on two occasions...i've tried the ala carte as well as the buffet, neither of which disappoints. the buffet menu is varied and all very well prepared and there wasn't anything i didnt particularly like. the only drawbacks i can think of, is the ala carte service is very slow. the food takes forever to arrive even though i must mention the wait is totally worth. all in all, this is a top notch place and is a must visit

Thanks for the review and apologies for the delay in responding. We are working towards ensuring quicker delivery to our guests, though preparing fresh takes precedence over quickness for us. Hopefully we should be able to devise a mechanism for quick and fresh delivery. Thanks for bearing us out till then and hope to see you back soon.

Needs improvement

Been to the joint twice, but not particularly happy with the arrangements.

Firstly, the layout of the food counters during afternoon lunch buffets is not really apeasing.

Secondly, the quality of food offered is not very great and of very regular nature.

Also at the time of my last visitm witnessed a certain insects and pests in the restaurant, making me conclude my visit to the restaurant.

Its just great overall

I love their food. Its just great overall. The service is fine as well. Food? Well its delicious! The kind of variety they have to offer is out of the world. Usually when I check in for a buffet, I look for great starters and that is exactly what Grillopolis has. But the main course is very interesting as well and not like any other buffet service where it all starts and ends at starters. Kudos to Grillopolis!

Horrible experience

A friend and I were there for the lunch buffett. There were only 2 other tables which were occupied which should have given us the clue that the place was horrible but we still wanted to try it.

Starters were cold and not appetizing at all. The grilled chicken was undercooked. The only saving grace was the fish in the starters. There were a lot of bugs flying around and one of them landed in my friends plate so we left the starters half way through.

The main course was horrible. It seems like the food was made in the morning and left there. The gyros were so tough that to eat them you probably needed someone to cut them into pieces. We still stayed calm. But the worst was yet to come. We spotted a couple of cockroaches in the main course area next to the food containers. We left the main course at that point.

Just as we were about to serve the deserts, we spotted ants and more bugs near the deserts area. We told the waiters about it and they took the deserts away.

I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I suggest stay away. Try only if you are fine sharing your food with roaches and bugs.

First dine out in Grillopolis

It was my first Grillopolis dinner tonight, and I loved the service. The food was delicious. However, I went out expecting this restaurant to be an authentic Moroccan cuisine, but it wasn't the case. The DJ was awesome, and played very good music; but, there was no Arabic music on the cards. Will visit this place again. Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback. Glad that you enjoyed your visit to Grillopolis. We serve cuisine from across the mediterranean coast hence are not limited to Moroccan or Arabic alone. Looking forward to seeing you back again.

Good food

I am South Mumbaite (and to be nicher - Malabar Hill) but boy oh boy the food served at this place surpasses a lot of so called food what they dish out in my side of town.

Vegetarian by choice (conscience as opposed to religion) rejoice - the starters over here are one to behold and rejoice over. The standard paneer fare which we are so used to is replaced with a dashing of Mediterranean influence and the results are stupendous.

10/10 in food - I should mention, the markings here are reserved for the starters and not the flair at the buffet table.

6/10 ambiance - sorry have high expectations.

2.5/10 - for the loo :)

Delightful Experience

The starters were different from the usual and really good. Loved the innovation in presentation. Enjoyed the yummy main course which was a mix of various cuisines. The desserts were decent and pretty good.
The ambience is worth the money and the efforts put in are clearly seen.

PS - Do order the Tallest Bombay drink and sip away to glory! :)

No one grills like Grillopolis!

Ambience : Spectacular

Menu : Eclectic, but limited

Starters : Tiny portions, decent taste

Main course : MIND BLOWING! We ordered BBQ chicken, lamb in roseary sauce and grilled fish. All three dishes were exceptionally well made. The sauces were authentic and packed with flavour. Meat was cooked to perfection. We were delighted to say the least.

Dessert : Tiramisu was seductive!

Definitely going back, and dragging a lot of people along.

Thumbs up!

Food Poisoning

I guess Grillopolis turned out unlucky for me the third time around. The first 2 dinners I ate there were simply delicious and a great experience. But the 3rd visit proved to be a disaster. We were a group of 20 family members celebrating a birthday party there on the 8th of June. The food no doubt was delicious but the service was very slow. A few other patrons were seen fighting with the staff too about the food. To add to our woes, 5 of us fell very sick with a bout of food poisoning. Needless to say, I won't be visiting Grillopolis ever again.

Dear Nisheeth, I did not want to create an issue about this but just raise an awareness about the same. The gentleman and his wife who you spoke with are my uncle and aunt and since they are travelling outside of Mumbai, we did not want to bother them by telling them this. But 5 of us did fall ill and on comparing notes, Grillopolis was the only place we all ate at together.

Move over BBQ Nation ...

This restaurant is total VFM ... cannot think of any other which comes close on their brunch offer. Had read good reviews and wanted to try out this joint for a long time and made it last Sat for brunch. Was surprised to get a call checking on my reservation ... as the whole place was empty barring 2 tables.

The restaurant is well done up, spacious though I am not sure how it stacks up when full. Staff is very friendly but lack of a menu card informing the starters is a negative. We faced a big problem with cocktails & mocktails as well, as there was nothing printed and the verbal description was well ... woefully inadequate. Sadly, 2 cocktails had to be wasted as they were just terrible.

The offer at Rs. 750 PP (with taxes) is a steal noting it comes with beer / wine / cocktails n mocktails and with 5 veg / NV starters and buffet breatfast, you should go empty stomach with a driver taking you back.

The starters were all excellent - which was a pleasant surprise. 2 chicken items, mutton sheekhs, grilled prawns and steamed basa fish ... with the latter two one of the best I have had. The prawns were cooked just perfect and juicy & tasty. The Basa fish was again fantastic, made with a green masala coat (like patrani machchi). We must have had multiple rounds and they came back with more - smiling.

This place is a boon for NV eaters but veg food lovers need not worry. The mushrooms were excellent, so was the potato grill.

For main course, the biryani & soup were average... Mutton roast was nice, alongwith the 3 NV salads. Pasta wasn't any good. The biggest dissapointment was the deserts, just 2 types of pastries (chocolate one really dry) and a strawberry mousse. We asked for ice cream and they got us the vanilla with chocolate souce.

Overall a good experience, will be back for sure. Enjoy

My bday Bash at Grillopolis

I had been to Grillopolis on 9/6/12, to celebrate my birthday party. As i was aware about its popularity, i had made bookings but due to few circumstances i had to make some changes, from here my experience starts, as i was in contact with Mr. Vishwaroop i had bookings and changes et al with him, and i would say the whole staff is supremely adjusting and helpful to the max. Moving on, the food...i not all mind paying Rs.755 for just starters as they were toooo good! I ordered a Pencarrow mocktail which to my surprise was a watermelon and lime mocktail which i had never treid and was excellently made. Overall, i was highly impressed and satisfied with Grillopolis, right from staffs, food and drinks. Its totaly worth the visit! Keep it up guys!! :)

ruined 21st bday

I went here on 31st night. had lots of expectations. so many good reviews. i was super excited! we reached there. the ambience i must say was very good and so was service. sweet people. but the food was BAD.
755 bucks per person for that ? even the desserts were bad. i being a veg thought that probably the non veg section would be better so my hard core non veg friends could enjoy bt i was wrong. it was so so so bad that i cut my cake at 1130 (my bdays on 1st) and we left ! srsly bad experience. two stars for ambience.

What an excellent evening.....

I was surprised to know that...Sunday evening I went without a reservation and they were sold out... A lil late start as they asked me to wait for a table for 15 mins and gave me a table after almost 25 but.... Then they made sure that they took care of us right from the person who showed us in to the guy serving us starters and the people attending our table..... Thx for taking care of us.... Grillopolis.... This is my 4th visit to u guys and u'guys have maintained it so far.. Wish u guys all the best and keep it up... Just one suggestion... Re-start the relish platter that u were serving initially that was really amazing....

Only for people with a Colossal appitite!

For startes you're gonna need a booking and ateast 3 hours to go around the buffet. I cant talk about the ala carte, cuz i havent been through it. That said, lets get down to business.

Tha place has nicely done up interiors, lovely ambience, though a tad noisey on weekends. But the food drowns out most of the noise and irratation.lol

I love eating here, cuz you get to sample a variety of starters form different cuisines, and the food just keeps on coming and coming and coming.. until you burst.
The buffet starts with a sooup, served at your table. The you head for the salads- Tomatoes with feta cheese in a vinegrette dressing, Grilled chicken salad and a lot more!
Then comes the Delicious part, the main part of your meal, calling it 'starters' is so wrong.. ;)
If you go in for the Ala carte, you have to try the Parmesan crusted chicken, they had it on the buffet too. Its fantabolous!, Grilled mushrooms with feta is awesome too.
well, just eat everything on the buffet!

Usually a restaurant delivers pretty good on the startes and falls short on the main course. But the main course at Grillopolis is superb too. They have Biryani, Pastas and a lot of other stuff i dont remember now.

My Verdict: Eat eat eat. Yes you have to thry this place out! Perfect for ppl with a colossal appitite!

Happy Eating! :D

Gateway to food haven!

I had heard about this place from a friend and decided to give it a try. This places specializes in the Mediterranean cuisine. We decided to try the buffet and made reservations even though it was a weekday.

The entrance is grand and has an old world charm. As you enter you continue gaping at the buffet counter. The interiors give out a European feel with a right amount of fusion provided by the classy decor. The lower section is for buffet and first floor for Ala-carte. The first floor also has a walk-in bar with the choicest of offerings. They also have 2 cozy private enclosed areas usually for larger groups (about 7-8 people). A music enthusiast will love the tracks being played one after the other.

The buffet is a lavish spread with everything authentic Mediterranean you can think of - parmesan crusted chicken, stuffed potato with cheddar and bell pepper, galouti kebab, grilled chicken and mashed potatoes, crab hara masala, spicy grilled babycorn and dum biryani. And all this for Rs 750. My taste-buds were literally on a roll.

They serve the starters at your table if you request them. The pan shots served at the end of the meal was the highlight. The staff is extremely polite and the service is prompt. I would say non-veg on offer wins hands down compared to the veg dishes.I'd rate ambiance - 9/10, service - 9/10, VFM - 8/10, food - 7.5/10 (since we even had friends who were vegetarian and weren't too happy).

Flipside was the lack of grilled items on the buffet, considering the fact that they call themselves a grill place. They even take a beating in the dessert department. There were the usual vanilla ice-cream, cheese cake and a flavoured mousse; when in fact they could have incorporated a few of lebanese desserts.

All in all, it was a great evening with good food and extremely good music!

Excellent food and service!

I visited Grillopolis after a year and I found the food and service to be as great as it was before! My group went in without a reservation for a Saturday afternoon brunch but we were provided with a table immediately by the hostess.

The starters took a while to come in at first, but when they started coming, they were ready to serve even before my group could polish off the one on our plate. The veggies starters were decent but not that great, but then that could be attributed to my group consisting of hardcore non-veg eaters. To mention that all the non-veg starters were succulent and juicy would be stating the obvious. The choice of beer has improved to Fosters from KF Blue the last time I was there. The main course was as varied as I remember the last time I was there. There's something in it for everyone with a penchant for a particular cuisine, ranging from the common Biryani to a Jambalaya. The desserts were pretty good and light on the stomach too. The price has for the buffet has increased from around Rs 675 to somewhere around 750 (incl taxes) but so has the range and quality of the beverages served. However, for foodies, this place is a steal at that price...

On my way out, the hostess asked me for any suggestions to make the experience any better and I could do nothing but smile and tell her they were doing great already!

not worth the price.

Went there yesterday with a group of 10. Was actually feeling bad for it was my suggestion to visit Grillopolis.
The non veg starters were good but since majority were veg we were very disappoinTed.

Had to keep calling the waiters to serve the starters. There was no flow of starters like experienced at BBQ
Secondly the corn served was too spicy and full of red chilly with hardly any kernels to bite into.
Third we were served only 5 veg starters which included the spicy corn and horrible cauliflower. So we were left with paneer, sekh kabab and mushrooms. These too were ordinary
When it was time for main course it was even more disappointing. NO spread of salad. ONly 3 deserts .
The spaghetti was over and they were leaast bothered to re fill.
Overall it was a horrible experience and unfortunately with hotels first impression of the food is the last impression.
SO I BIG NO for Grillopolis guys or may be visit only on weekends and not weekdays.

High time I visit again

It's been a long time since I went there for a hearty meal. Was bowled over by their buffet on my first visit. Great starters that are enough to fill you up. Just for 750/- they served so much variety. I even recommended it to one of my friends for his bachelor party which again was satisfactory.

Don't know if the prices are same or not but hope the quality of the food is.

good..!!

this place has the same concept of barbeque nation....around 10 starters served at ur table..
and a buffet afterwards..!
but wat it does different is the cuisine..
grillopolis tries to infuse continental and middle eastern flavours...and it does it well...!!

even the buffet has unique dishes and they are pretty good..!!

and for the person who craves the usual they will surely have a dal/rice with a paneer gravy....

overall a very good experience...

Amazing

Went here on a weekend as was feeling very hungry and was not disappointed at all.We chose the non veg buffet which was value for money and were overwhelmed with the amazing starters both veg & non veg, which of course left very little space for the main course. The ambience was lovely and ofcourse you can spot a celebrity or to as well. They also followed up with a satisfaction check call as well. All in all a nice place to visit but be sure to go on an empty stomach.

Not Worth the price!!

Grillopolies - Being rated as one of the best places to visit, Our first visit at this place apparently happened to be a very bad idea of selecting a place for dine..

The ambiance and the interior is worth complimenting. But that's not all....

1) The starters were good but half of them were half cooked and cold.
2) Service is disappointing and irritating as We literally had to call out waiters time and again for serving us or to reach our table .
3) The main course is again not that great enough.
4) Just 2 or 3 varieties in Dessert !
5) Bottom line,, The food is not worth the price(Rs 750 per person for buffet)

Delicious Lebanese food

as the name suggests it is a place where you eat more starters and less main course of course most of the starters are grilled. we had reservations and we went there in january so it was very chilly to sit outside so we sat inside and the starters served were nice and good quantity. the fish chicken and prawn all were nice. there were other seafood also but i am not a fan of particular sea food. We were four of us and had a great time. the main course was adequate including deserts which my almost 3 yr old daughter enjoyed to the fullest. We will recommend this place for people having non veg food mainly to take the full advantage of the starters and food. the price is a little on the higher side but the service is great and so the quantity matches it.

Good Food

Grillopolis is located in a dark alley opposite Infinity Mall – clearly not the best surroundings with construction activity around. Interiors are good in terms of décor. Don’t want to compare it with the famous grill restaurant in Bandra, but considering that the concept is similar, comparisons can not be avoided. They have five vegetarian and an equal number of non-veg starters, served at the table, along with main course and dessert buffet. They claim that the focus of the place is grilled food from the Mediterranean region. The paneer was really soft and well done. However, the other vegetarian starters – cauliflower, mushrooms, potatoes – were average. Considering the pricing, it was surprising that veggies like broccoli, zucchini etc. were not a part of the menu. For non-veg, grilled prawns and fish were served, both of which were nicely grilled and spiced perfectly. We were also served galawati kebabs which had a good, melt in the mouth texture. The roast chicken was hard and the other chicken starter was overpoweringly spiced. Some hummus was also served on the table, which I felt was kinda out of place. Surprisingly, even though the place is advertised as serving international cuisine, the starters were fairly Indianized (or atleast I felt so).

The main course was a lavish affair with an elaborate selection of dishes including all sorts of vegetables, meats and sea-food. Desserts were average, both in terms of variety and taste. Overall the food was good and I would have really appreciated the place if I had gone there for normal meal, but I had gone there expecting some exotic International cuisine. Service was good except for a dirty flatware glitch which was promptly resolved.

Had the time of our lives

My wife and I had gone to Grillopolis to celebrate our anniversary. We had told them this and were expecting that they would give us the usual cake and that would be that. What we got instead was a restaurant that went out of its way to make the evening unforgettable for us.

Firstly the food was awesome. I had my apprehensions - a grill place and I'm now veg - felt I would get the short end of the stick. Instead my tastebuds were tantalized and exhilarated like they never have been. I had a mushroom galouti that melted in the mouth and honestly tasted as good if not better than any lamb galouti. The starters were so good we ended up calling for repeats on some of them. The main course was good and the desserts were fab

But what won the day was the incredible service. I can truly say that we have not encountered this kind of care and service in any Indian restaurant. They had done up a special table for us and made it like it's own nook. The cake arrived as soon we did - photos were clicked and later sent to us and FBed as well with a sweet message. Right through the starters, waiters, the manager were constantly coming to us, asking us how the food was, if we needed anything. We were taken on a tour of the lounge on the first floor. The piece de resistance was the bartender offering us special shots that he had just created for us. I've given up drinking but I did have those shots and they were fab. My wife had a couple of cocktails and she loved them

A superlative experience in every way. We will be back and so will all our friends :)

Grill-o-dissapointed

Being the most reviewed and highly rated by burrp, i was all excited for the Grill.
But it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The entire concept of Mediterranean food was lacking..and there was no grill on the table..
The ambience is good. But the air-conditioner wasn't working and there was no water in the washroom! And they could have some soft music playing on the ground floor as well..
The starters were just average. There was cauliflower! For that kind of money i could have had broccoli. The paneer was decent, so were the mushrooms. The cauliflower was a big shock and horribly oily. The kebabs were bland. As for the non vegetarian, the chicken was good but the fish was undercooked. The prawns were disappointing too. Overall the starters can be really worked on.
There was hummus on the table but no khabush or pita bread!
Then came the soup, of which i din understand the concept..the breads were laid as the buffet but the soup was served at the table with just some breadsticks. And the soup was BAD.
The maincourse was below average, nothing extraordinary. And the salads could be easily given a miss. The daal, vegetable, rice was all cold.
The desserts were good and the indian bake took the show away easily. it was the only thing which was worth the wait for grill-o-polis.
It was a huge let down when i trust burrp reviews..

Delightful!

They say, "No one grills the way we do" and I can't agree more. The delightful Grillopolis experience begins right at their reception with a very warm and professional bunch of people welcoming you. The restaurant has two floors of seating, with the main course spread on the ground floor and the bar area on the first floor. The concept - A prefix menu comprising of unlimited starters and soup served at the table, followed by a buffet spread for the main course & desserts.
The feel-good factors are many here: great ambiance and beautiful interiors (observed carefully, you realize that a lot of thought has been put into making the place look this wow), also its one of the most spacious restaurants, the seating is comfortable too. The staff is very responsive and cordial. However, the best part is the food i.e. your very objective of visiting the place. The starters were irresistible and quite a variety was on offer - galouti kebab, moroccon chicken, grilled prawns, etc to name a few, each very delicious. The veg options were few though. The main course spread was one of the most elaborate ones I have seen. As a hard core non-vegetarian, I was presented with a galore of options - chicken, mutton, fish, prawns, crab and lamb. The main course had very good and sufficient veg options too. All the good food really builds up your expectations a lot by the time you get to the desserts. The desserts could have been a bit better though - in terms of variety as well as taste. Nothing wrong as such, but there exists a definite scope of improvement for the management.
In short, a variety of multi cuisine taste on offer, scrumptious food and great service. Perfect place for an enjoyable eat out with family and friends. Absolute VFM and pure pleasure. Can't wait to visit again!!

Fantastic!!!

Went for dinner in their lounge area with my fiance after our initial plan to go to another restaurant did not work out. I walked up to the bar and told the bartender it was my fiance's birthday n asked him if he could make something special for us. From then on, our evening was absolutely fabulous!
We had special attention from the entire staff. The bartender was exceptional, presenting us with quality drinks, great food and 2 amazing complimentary shots during our almost 3 hours there. we had awesome flaming shots and were invited into the bar for clicking pictures. The staff took lots of pictures for us, the DJ later switched from slow tunes to peppy ones and we were invited to dance. A perfect closure of the birthday!!!! we surely are repeat customers!!!

blah

Contrary to the earlier reviews, my experience at the Grillopolis was fairly average. Given that the occasion was my dad’s 60th birthday, we were looking forward dine there.
On reaching we decided to go for the buffet. The interiors are nice and the setting takes you to a different time and space. However, when it comes to food, the appetizers were strictly ok with either too much of butter in the stir fry or weird tasting soya sticks. In addition, one of the appetizers was a part of the main course so it didn’t make any sense. The tomato basil soup was descent but the entire service (appetizers are served on the table) took a while. And sadly, the waiters didn’t know how to pronounce the names of the dishes when probed.
Meanwhile, I requested the manager if he could get us a small cake or a pastry or whatever it takes to celebrate the occasion but he couldn’t manage either of those and kept apologizing repeatedly. Post the main course we figured there was an orange cake at the dessert counter which could have easily arranged for earlier!!
The main course was ‘barely’ there. To think of it, none of the dishes were particularly exceptional to linger on the memory and the same stands for dessert.

I think I shall give this a skip next time.

Great Place

Been there for the first time today for Lunch. Had read fantastic reviews about the place and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Foods great and unlike other restaurants in this category of fixed dining, the options provided both for starters and for the buffet are value for money.
Ambience gives it and old school mixed with a fusion experience, service is crisp from the time you are seated and most of all they come with a smiling face, a rarity at some of the best places in Mumbai.
Definately will give it many more visits....cheers!!

Excellent Place

Me and 3 of my friends had dinner here yesterday. We had 3 main course dishes, 1 appetizer and 2 desserts. The bill was less than Rs 500 per person.
They played great music (played a couple of them on request as well) by Pink Floyd, The Corrs, U2 etc. with projected concert videos.
The food was exceptional. We had a Cheese Manakeesh for appetizer and for main course we had a Seven Veggies with Cous Cous & Tangine, a classic Risotto and a Grille Cottage Cheese Steak. For desserts, we had a Tiramisu and Umm Ali Pudding. The food tasted as good as it read on the menu.
In all, Grillopolis is great value for money and an amazing dining experience!

Good food..gr8 ambience

A warm, cozy getaway tucked opposite infiniti mall in andheri, serving a mediterranean cuisine. On a weekday it was relatively vacant, but the food was very tasty. I had ordered a mushroom starter and a pesto risotto. Mocktail i ordered was a disappointment. However i enjoyed the experience as a whole. The interiors and tall ceilings were a pleasant sight.

Excellent Grills , Perfect Ambiance

I happen to visit Grillopolis twice in last 10 days. Non-vegetarians can have a field day at the delectable Grills which are served with a smile. The option for vegetarians is though a little less. Don't forget to try the Basa fish grill.

Desserts can be skipped, I suggest to increase the options from corners of the world.

I would love to visit this place again.

Delicious!

A wasteful New Year

My friends and I went for the much-hyped exotic New Year dinner on 31st Dec.. I had been here earlier and would say that my friends agreed to come here only because of my strong recommendation... They have not been talking to me since.. Anyway, the positives first: the ambience was good and there was a DJ party happening on the upper level, so the music was awesome. Now the negatives: there was just one AC working, so all the draft was directed on our head, making it extremely chilly for our side of the restaurent. the food spread was nothing special, except for the starters which were relatively good. otherwise the so-called exotic menu did have strange names, but did no justice to the taste. the dessert spread too was not upto the mark. infact the ice-cream that they served (only vanilla) reeked of the cardbox packing taste. the waiters deployed had no clue since i guess their concentration was more on the lounge party that was going on.. Overall a forgettable experience and a forgettable New Year 2011

Dear Kushal
Please accept my apologies. I am inclined to believe that their existed a disconnect between the cuisine served and your expectations. And I say this, because of the over 200 odd guests that night had largely appreciated the spread. I also understand from your feedback that you had enjoyed the place earlier, so it is a bit intriguing as to what went askew? Do let me know the next time you are around or let me know your email so that I can probe the matter further...

"just a dream to my taste bud"

I and my parents went to this restaurant on my moms birthday after reading the reviews on burrp. I must say this restaurant has awesome food. My mom and dad eat jain food and i am a veggie. But still the chef paid special attention to our requirements and served us wonderful food. i must say excellent staff, excellent chef, excellent ambiance, excellent food , just gives you an amazing experience of dining. i would say try more of starters rather than the maincourse because the starters are amazing. they also serve buffet but i guess its expensive for a veggie because there are 6 or 7 veg main course dishes which are served for rs750 incl taxes. Non vegetarians can enjoy the buffet as they have equal items in non veg. So they can have a spread of veg+nonveg spread at the same cost. It also has an amazing retro bar on the first floor, a must try...We were served grilled stuffed potatoes and paneer in morrocan style which was amazing. also the main course exotic vegs with paneer sticks and hot pepper tomato sauce was yummy.
I am soon visiting you again, Grillopolis.. now you are amongst my favorites...

Nothing makes our day better than a guest who has enjoyed our efforts. I cant agree more with you on the non veggies having a better deal. Unfair but true! We have failed to find a way of having them keep to the non veg side, the way veggies do...
Hope to see you back again soon! Cheers

Dear sir
thanks for your prompt reply.
i would suggest you to add more dishes on veggies side of your buffet and even add some eggless pastries. this would do for the veggies. Or one can serve free mocktails for the same.
just a suggestion for your wonderful restaurant to be amongst the best in mumbai...

For u we'll prepare seperately

My friends have been talking about the place, so I thought, "let's try it today(18th dec, lunch)", had a little hiccup initially as being a Jain I always prefer ala-carte restaurant as they have specific dishes for jains, and here I was in a buffet restaurant with fantastic spread of main course and desserts in front of me, and I said to myself wrong place for a guy like me, but just about then, the front office lady who knew I was Jain introduced me to the chef and he didn't let me feel out of place, he offered me some customized starters and some variety in main course as well, even though they have only buffet in lunch, they were sweet enough to customize and prepare ala-carte for me, excellent service guys! Just keep up the service and your food as it is terrific, thanks once more and keep it up.

Awesome Experience!

Totally worth the money you spend, Grillopolis is a place you would like to return to, at any special occasion.

Excellent starters - stuffed potatoes, prawns and fish, followed by rich soup and good main course. Not to forget enormous choice of interesting cocktails :)

Dessert could be better though.

Classing fine dining

This restaurant is truly a food lovers delight. Especially if he or she is a non vegetarian. Great spread of starters form part of the buffet dinner that one really relishes. Great Taste ...loved he grilled fish that was once served...

Amazing decor, reminds u of pubs of Europe...one drawback r the mosquitoes some time u encounter on the corner seating....so watch out for those...

Happy Anniversary Grillopolis

I went to Grillopolis on 02/12/2011. it was the final day to conclude the month long celebration of their first anniversary. I booked a table for 20 people (majority non-veg) in advance and we were offered 3 adjacent table downstairs. However, it took them a while to get the 3rd table ready and some of us had to wait. Nisheeth - please look into this, as no one wants to wait for more than 30 minutes after making a reservation days in advance. The food was great and as usual veggies had complaints (i don't blame them because veg buffets are always boring anywhere u go :P). The highlight for the night was the play's enacted by Aleque Padamse, Gary Richardson and a couple of actors. It was a great experience as none of us had seen a live play and everyone enjoyed it a lot.

The 19 people that came along with me had never been to Grillopolis before and this was their first visit. Everyone seem to be bowled over by the ambiance, concept and the food. As i am a regular here, I was their guide for the night :-). Thank you Grillopolis for not letting me down and making the entire dinner a good experience.

Dear Ashwin
Thanks for the feedback and the endorsement. I fully agree with you on the delay bit and shall work towards ironing that out. Happy that you were a part of the concluding event, my poor luck that I couldn't meet you then, though I was aware of your group being there. Hope to see you the next time you come over. Thanks and regards

First time, but definitely not the last time!

We, a group of 9 colleagues, visited Grillopolis yesterday evening (24th Nov) and opted for buffet. 2 of us are veggies and rest non-vegs.
The starters are really devouring and man! what a variety. (my mouth's watering reminding them)
.. Buffet was a decent one with enough options. We felt we had a hearty meal, but not at the cost of heavy tummy! That's what I call a really healthy food! (good at taste and health at the same time)
.. Martini was "Zabardast", and spiced juice was also good.
.. But Chunky-Munky was too sweet (tasted like a cough syrup but extra sweet)
and Sundowner was a little bitter, so had only a couple of sips.
.. Deserts were delicious.
.. The ambience was just aesthetic for dinner.

I recommended Grillopolis after going through various reviews on burrp, and am glad that the decision was excellent.
I would have rated it 5, but for the glitches in juices and the fact that it does not accept amex card (due to incompletion of 1 year), I would give it a 4 star this time.
Hope to visit again and rate it 5!

Starters are good rest is all downhil

I was there last night for a friend's birthday treat. We went for the all inclusive 750 odd buffet. This place has a nice ambiance and i loved the music they were playing in the background (retro and 80s).

Coming to the food, there were 5 veg and 5 non-veg starters. The non-veg starters were yum. I loved the crispy chicken tikka, prawns, fish peri peri and mutton. There were chicken wings too but I didn't taste them as I don't like chicken with bones. According to a friend, they were nice too. 5 veg starters were yummy too with the paneer tikka the standout along with the sauteed mushroom. Stuffed potato was nice too although the cauliflower was so-so. There was spicy corn cob but it wasn't so great either. Overall for the non-vegetarians, the starters were nice. For the veggies, I feel they could do better.

Main course: The main course was a major let down! In non-veg: there was just 1 chicken salad and 1 egg salad both of which were average. The chicken stake in mushroom sauce was nice but the chicken could have been more tender. Mutton biryani was nice but the presentation was as though it was a leftover dish from lunch. There was crab which i was looking forward to eat, but they didn't have all the tools to eat crab which was very disappointing. The chicken gravy dish again looked very unappetizing. The Spanish paella was the best. Overall the non-veg could have been much better.

Veg mains: the best was the mushroom risotto. The dal makhani was yum too. The paneer was nice too but there was too much of masala in the gravy. The chilly spaghetti was too dry and the spread here could have been better.

Desserts: they were very very disappointing. It seems the desserts were kept in the buffet as an after. There were two Indian desserts. One looked like baked cornflakes and the other baked Indian sweet was a mix of boondi, mini gulab jamun and mawa cake. It was very nice. The assorted pastries were awful and the vanilla with hot chocolate was bad too. It felt as though one was eating artificial ice cream and sauce.

Overall the place is nice for the starters only, but not worth paying 750 bucks for the whole buffet. One can try it once for a chance but someone like me would never go back there unless they improve the variety in the mains and desserts.

Service was decent, although the place was empty, there were just 2-3 waiters serving food.
