Nice Chocolate Sandwich
Stopped over at Parmesha joint just opposite BSE building. I must say that it is a "must-try" for every Mumbaikar. I tried their "Sher Sangam" and "Chocolate Sandwich" and it is quite unique in this offering. Taste is also good. Price is reasonable.
Service is awesome and friendly. That adds more love energy into the food. And the place is kept clean and organized overall.
Hungry ?? you should visit H.Parmesha Fast Foods
You will get 72 types of verities in sandwichs, the taste is commendable and its 100 % hygienc. The way he (Mr. parmesha Owner) approaches the customers is too good!!! And the combinations he offers with the sandwichs and juices named Encounter, Grand Mix, Boan Chiller, Meghna special, cheese chillies and Parmesan special grilled sandwich make us to feel so hungry (share sangam is very different taste).
Guys you should try it!!!!!! :) Saritha Gowda
The owner was friendly and gave a lot of suggestions on what we could try. We ordered for about two three types of sandwiches (my friends have been regulars here since a long time) including the Paramesha special, paneer cheese chilly which were all unique in their own way. Of all, I loved the Meghna sandwich the most & this is the plain reason why I'm gonna visit this place again!
Highly overrated - Order carefully
Moved by the reviews of this place on burrp, i spontaneously decided to order their sandwiches and convinced 3 friends too.
Mr Parmeshwar picked up the phone and was very delighted to take the order. I ordered for 2 cheese masala toast (which was recommened in most reviews).I asked his recommendations for 2 more sandwiches. He suggested Paneer, Cheese Chilly and American, Corn & Mushroom Sandwich and so i ordered them as well. However, none of the sandwiches lived up to their hype; Except Paneer Cheese Chilly, which managed to save to grace to an extent. These may have tasted good if I had them there rather than ordering them to office but I may not take that chance now !!
road-side to up-side!
In the scheme of things relating to ideating, creating, executing, and selling, one can only go so long a length when it comes to catering to the tastes of the roadside-sandwich-bred Mumbai-ite! By this what I mean, is that the roadside sandwich-wallas who have been catering every kid, teen, and adult for years now is devoid of the innovation cycle, purely because the stuff still sells as it is, something that serves as a mid-meal hunger relaxant.
Two variants have existed thus far, in this race; a toasted or grilled masala sandwich, and a toasted or grilled regular sandwich with the works of uncooked vegetables, chutney, and butter.
What is then surprising, is the fact that H. Paramesha sandwiches has been brave enough to dig his hand in, usurp a plethora of variants, and SUCCESSFULLY market it to enforce his dominance in the heart of Mumbai. Located in an off-the-radar hideout, a single visit will most definitely entrench the map in your head, the credit for which goes into the sweat and soul (metaphorically speaking) that goes into making the sandwiches and up-selling the same.
H. Paramesha is always on-guard at this outlet, and some of his famed offerings (out of the 30 odd on his menu) include:
1) Paramesha Special - mushroom+paneer+cheese+corn (is a must have)
2) Balaji Special - haven't figured it out yet
3) Paneer Cheese Chilly - slices of bland paneer cubes+cheese+chilly (is also a must try)
4) Masala Grilled - the regular variant
5) Cheese Chilly Toast -
Lack of water is complemented by the choices in juices to wash down your spicy sandwich:
1) Strawberry Juice - pulp + loads of freshly cut strawberry
2) Mulberry Mango Juice - pulp of mulberry with a dash of mango pulp: dark red and yellowish orange in colour
And for those, who are hungry still, have a bread butter or a jam cheese toast. Although, please bear in mind that even these, like all other sandwiches are double layered, i.e. they include 3 slices of bread..and fillings in between!
All sandwiches come in brown bread / white bread variants and are served with tomato ketchup + green (really spicy) chutney + orange (spicy) chutney. Also, each sandwich is preloaded with oodles of butter on the top!!
Hygiene is of acceptable standards given the fact that they work out of a dry area, and are located inside a shop, as opposed to open air vendors.
Two things are extremely noteworthy:
1) the PACE at which these fellows churn out sandwiches is mind-numbing...peak hour rush is dampened by their efficiency
2) the HOSPITALITY - Mr. Paramesha makes sure to always up-sell the sandwich that you order; given the choices available, if you are hesitant in your selection, he shall MOST DEFINITELY be halfway on his way to make you eat his Paramesha Special Grill.....also, he remembers all his customers even if you aren't a regular
Each of his grilled sandwiches hover around the Rs. 50/- mark, which may be a higher notch for a roadside shop, but is filling, even for lunch, nonetheless.
They are happy to deliver within a radius of almost a kilometre, at least.
Wishing him all the luck, for keeping up the pace and promulgating the goodness of things in food, to maintain the zest and flavour, defined by the life and nature of an urban city that is MUMBAI.
Went to H. Paramesha Fast Food Corner for a quick bite. It's basically a food shop, saying - 'Specialist in All Types of Food'. The menu is just an upgraded version of a road-side sandwich stall with fruit juices thrown in. The seating area are the steps of the closed shop next door.
Now to food. Ordered a 'Cheese Mushroom Grilled Sandwich', was appetising, had a generous filling of cheese but they skimped on the mushrooms, had bits of American corn too. Ordered a glass of 'Cold Coffee', it was more Coffee Milkshake than Cold Coffee, I was quite disappointed.
On the whole, the grub is nothing special but not bad either. Reasonably priced too. The service is fast and efficient. On the whole three stars from my end.
I used to work in Fort and hence this was among the favourite places from where we used to deliver. This joint is located just outside BSE and hence frequented by people who have some work in this area.I overestimate it when I call it a joint because it is nothing more than a tapri with handful people hastily making sandwiches.
I had ordered his normal masala toast sandwich which was Rs 10..The sandwich was heavenly with the masala being delicious and spicy. It is filling and amazing. He has delivery service and they deliver to offices in close vicinity.
The next instant was that we went to his stall.I was so shocked at the service standard from such an unpretentious place. My friend ordered a cheese saada sandwich and what followed was a treat for senses...She is a cheese fan and the sandwich was covered with layer of cheese so thick..that it resembled a mini mountain...all that for under Rs 10...
I have also at times wanting to try something new and have spoken to the owner..Paramesha himself...The way he talks and convinces you to try something...He is more slick than a five star restaurant maitre d'.
The place has no ambience but the food and service quality more than make up for it.
Whats more its the best place to have something on the go with a cuppa tea from neighbouring stall and its like value for money mini meal...
Paramesha = Godly
Just swiped off a brown bread masala toast from H Paramesha. It was fabulous. Mind you, I have never visited this stall close to the stock exchange building so I don't quite know if its hygienic but just hoping that masala toast is safe enough. :)
He has over 30 type of sandwiches. He also has a ton of juices and indian style pizzas. Good snack to order in office in the evening if you work in the fort area. Its really filling though so make sure you order right.
Delivery service is prompt. Beware: The order taker is really friendly and a very good sales man. :)
Randomly found this place in a tiny lil lane in fort. I must say that these guys have an extensive menu for such a small juice / sandwich joint. Seems to be the official hangout spot for a lot of the HSBC employees. Pretty much all the customers i saw there were from the HSBC bank.
We ordered for a Mushroom -Paneer-Cheese sandwich and a Paneer Cheese Sandwich. The sandwiches are huge, really filling. I especially liked the paneer, it was really nice n soft, in Bombay the paneer in most places is nothing but blocks of rubber.
The juices were looking pretty good so i thought might as well give it a shot. The owner, very friendly man suggested we go for "Encounter" its like a cocktail juice- I can't recall all the ingredients were but there was definitely apple and peach in there. The name for obvious reasons was too tempting to resist. The juice tasted really good except it was too sweet. Usually, I always make sure there's no extra sugar in the juice- it totally kills the freshness of the juice.
All in all, a place worth checking out if you are looking out for quick, filling snack.
