6 people and two families got sick. Ate kulfi, rose falooda and had some fruit juices. Got hospitalised two days later with very high fever, body aches and upper respiratory tract infection that had rapidly escalated and gone beyond control.
Never going there ever!! Doctors labeled us as lucky since we were tested for all kinds of scary diseases. Take care if u go there.
Good but not great
It is usually assumed that if you're known as a juice center, you have done spectacularly well in a city like Mumbai, where fresh fruit juices are available nearly everywhere. It is with this understanding that I went to the place with a friend. However, my experience here reinstated the belief that don't go by everything that you hear.
After an afternoon show at the Nehru Planetarium, we decided to walk to this place. We were famished and very thirsty, so even an ordinary drink and meal would have seemed heavenly. First off, it's very hard to find a place to sit here. So either be prepared to wait or eat standing outside. And there is no number count for waiting; the further along inside you are, the better your chances of being seated. The staff, I must say, are very courteous.
The entire order required from our side was shot down by the lady at the counter who suggested completely different items. We went with it hoping that those recommendations will turn out to be much superior. Both of us wanted shakes, but were told to go for juices instead and both suggestions came from her.
But the quantity for both the snack and the drinks was very low. And it didn't seem so just because were extremely hungry; it was less. And all items were very pricy. The juices were pretty disappointing, because neither was a standout. Stuff like this is available at other similar hygienic places at nearly 2/3rd of the cost. The eats were well prepared but were very small portions for the price being charged.
Conversations with some old timers revealed that this place has become pricier with time without any improvement in quality, which, they said, has actually gone down. The saddest part is that the highest point of our meal was a couple of bottles of cola that we had right at the end.
The location is advantageous to them and hence the business is good; and if you happen to be in the area, then it is an option you can make do with. But a dedicated visit to this place is best avoided.
The real taste of cream.
If you want to enjoy the real taste of cream, I suggest you to try Haji Ali Juice Centre. This place has multiple varieties of cream as well as Sandwiches, Rolls, Pizza, Ice Cream and Sherbet, which are so tasty that you will keep visiting again and again.
omg juices and milkshakes!
i used to pass by haji ali n always see this haji ali juice centre i had not expected it to be so freaking amazing!! we had ordered for sitaphal rabddi and trust me i hate rabddi but i loved it so much that i make it a point whenever i'm near haji ali i always order it !! the milkshakes there are also too good even though the prices are a little high you can fetch to pay since its lip smacking and you wouldn't regret !!!
As the name suggest its a juice center but a really famous one.
Frankly nothing extra ordinary about this place, cramped up with about seating space of 30 people max.
The place is known for its milkshakes and juices.
Do try the falooda here, its bit expensive but has always been good.
They have few chairs to sit, but its best to park on the road and order from the car itself.
The place is expensive.
540 bucks for 3 juices!
You go to a juice stall to order juice knowing the fact that usually juices cost around 50 bucks.
So around 12:30AM, we drive across Haji Ali and considering the number of times I've heard of this place for its juices, We decide to order.
The shutters are down, but just a little ahead, waiters wait waiting on the road side for you to order. We order 3 fruit creams.
Waited for a while and we get the juices in plastic containers (not cups). The waiter generously gives us the bill and I almost spill the drink. 540 bucks for 3 juices! I mean like WHAT THE HELL! And obvious next step is to see the menu card. Nope, I wasn't cheated, by the waiter at least. The food was priced in double digits where as even the fruit juices were in triple digits.
Such a disappointment it was; is.
Great snacks, too expensive
Being close to Haji Ali, this place attracts a lot of people. It is a big shop and though it calls itself a juice center you will find almost all types of snacks- from rolls, sandwiches to fruit cream.
We ordered a paneer grilled sandwich, plain vanilla ice cream and the famous sitaphal cream. The lady who was taking order was courteous and polite.
I must confess that the sandwich was brilliant. I had lots of paneer slices and tomato ketchup enhanced the taste. There was liberal sprinkling of cheese and was properly grilled. The fruit cream was good too but not worth the exorbitant price.
All in all it serves good snack items but it is just too expensive! We ended up paying more than 200 bucks for a sandwich and a sitaphal cream. I'd say worth a try. Don' forget to order one of the fruit creams (sitaphal is recommended)
Bon Appettit!! :)
Pizza.. veg roll and falooda...
if you are out hanging around the southern side of bombaby in the late hours of night..., Haji Ali Juice center is a must visit!
Although i have been visiting this place since i was a child... I tried their veg roll for the first time. Chatpati pav bhaji filled into a long pav like bread was really yumm! Their faloodas and pizza remain as tasty as they was 15 years back...
Must try : Kulfi falooda
Best juice centre in mumbai
juices are good...their sitaphal icecream is the best i think iin mumbai.
celebrities are known to visit this place...its a major highlight in the city of Mumbai.
juices and shakes compliment the food served over here well.
Food menu has rolls, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas which taste good not great when we compare them to the juices and shakes
prices are a little on the higher side considering their popularity.
My experiences have been good here-will come back soon hopefully
The Custard-apple cream (listed as 'Sitaphal cream' on the menu) is, to put it in one world, OTHERWORLDLY. It's so good that it's bound to leave you asking for more even after you've spent Rs. 180 on it (which is the cost of one bowl of the delicious stuff); my suggestion would be to take along a friend and order a one-by-two (meaning one bowl split into two) first and then repeat the order once you've finished - this way, on the whole each of you is sure to get more quantity than one bowl! The Cheese-Manchurian Grilled Club Sandwich (I'm afraid I don't recall the exact name printed on the menu, but I'm sure it was something like this) is supposedly a renowned item - it lives up to its billing, which is Rs. 120 per sandwich incidentally. I had one sandwich and half a bowl of the cream, and boy was I full!
My favorite thing inside me-my hunger, took me to this place for a morning breakfast and i got stabbed by the tasteless sandwiches which we ordered and the bland watermelon juice in a petite glass. That was enough for us to pay the bill and move on. I didn't have the courage to try other items. Maybe they must be good or maybe not..! :S
Inappropriately priced, but open till late
This place is just a small "Khopcha" before you enter the Dargah but it is expensive, extremely expensive. The food is good and quite different in taste but again, nothing exceptional. Probably you will enjoy coming here more in the wee hours as it is open till 2 at night.
The seating place is extremely limited and mostly you will be standing outside and eating and during rush hours you'll have lot of people passing by you as you eat by the roadside, as there is no area as such where you can stand in peace and eat.
It is best to come late at night in you car and eat on the cars bonnet or boot. The place is expensive a plain cheese pizza of 6 inches cost Rs 95 and a small glass on Sitaphal Milkshake costs Rs 100. Now, for the place. I think that is expensive.
new & improved haji ali!
If you haven't passed by the iconic Haji Ali Juice Centre in a while, you might want to go check out their new do. Better signage, what appears to be a friendlier, cleaner setup, and a friendly service staff all seem to lend itself to great positive improvements by this popular "roadside" vendor. Famously known for it's wide variety of juicy concoctions, Haji Ali Juice Centre continues to thrive on one of the most trafficked intersections in all of Mumbai. Not to be missed as well are their freshly prepared sandwiches. Try the toasted Veg Cheese Mixed Grill - simply potatoes, tomatoes, chutney and some cheese with a little butter melted on top, served with a packet of ketchup - oh so roadside!
The great thing about Haji Ali is that you can literally park you car outside the joint as if you were in an American diner of the 50's, and although you won't have a lady waitress come out in roller-skates, the fellows are nice enough to explain anything on the menu and even make some suggestions since there are over a hundred variety of juices and shakes.
All in all, if you're on the road, need a tasty snack to hold you up, not to forget a fresh glass of juice to wash down those snacks, HAJC is the place to be.
1. this place sells all varieties of cigarettes
2. late late nite, even though this place may seem like it has its shutters down, try to approach a little closer and you may find someone ready to serve you ;)
Fresh juices, reasonably priced
The Haji Ali Juice centre has been around for the past 25 years. This place is arguably one of the most famous landmarks in Mumbai. Tell any taxi guy to take you to the Haji Ali Juice centre and he would know what you are talking about.
They have a wide variety of fresh juices and milk-shakes. The quantities are big and the prices reasonable. Surprisingly even with the huge crowd of customers, their service is prompt. Most orders are delivered within 15 mins.
Although they serve veggie sandwiches, just go there just for the juices. Whenever I go there, I sit back and relax with a glass of orange juice and enjoy the views of the vast arabian sea and the Haji Ali Dargah.
