This Cafe Rocks.

2000 hours, Oct 23rd, 2015, Friday, Lokhandwala Complex:

The Prelude:
============================================
Hard Rock is one of the world's most recognized and revered brand in the hospitality industry. With its various differentiated offerings like live performances, super food and drinks, and its fashion and music collectibles, it stands as a distinct identity in the milieu of other me toos. In India it has been ushered in by the Sanjay Mahtani - Jay Mehta JSM Group in 2005, the same group which has as many as eight brands (besides 29 outlets) under its belt. Having developed Hard Rock in six cities across India, JSM now operates some other famous brands such as Shiro, California Pizza Kitchen, Asilo, Pink Berry, Ginger Tiger, Plus 91, and The Big Kahuna.

The Personality:
============================================
I get to meet the Asst General Manager Mr Vasim Shaikh who incidentally, doesn't seem any less a rock star in his own right. Vasim has been with HRC since the last ten years, in fact being one of the first personnel to be associated with the brand. He seemed an authority on the place, regaling me with the history and the journey of the brand, and before departure, offering me a two cent tour of the place, specially the memorabilia section (Madonna, Tina Turner, U2 fashion statements, anyone?).

And I also learn that Vasim is progressing in life, moving off shores with the same brand. And hence I get to meet Shobesh Nair, the new Assistant General Manager of the place, who is equally enthusiastic about the brand. While in a tete a tete with him little did I know that his true enthusiasm would become evident only at the fag end of my journey. (Please check out the video clip on my blogsite).

The Platter:
============================================
HRC does not believe in a standard menu all round the year. They experiment with food, turn it upside down, give it newer hues and textures, celebrate a variety of festivals (Rocktoberfest at the moment) and do not shy away from innovation. The portions are king size, and the quality meticulous.

Our genie for the day was Feroz, a young lad who instantly evoked a bon homie around. He is a well informed person, and offers intelligent suggestions. And I also got to meet the Head Chef, Sandeep Mehrolia.

CARNIVAL FRIES: Whoa! The size of the platter made us nervous. We immediately raised a red flag. This was a generous portion of masala french fries tossed up with chicken sausage, mushroom and onion mix. Served with cheese sauce and tangy salsa on the side. And sprinkled with scallion and tomato bits. And what a super combination it was. We finished it between the three of us, to the last bit.

GRILLED FILLET: Tenderloin fillet marinated with fresh rosemary, olive oil, garlic, herbs and spices topped with a gob of white cheddar smash potatoes and homemade house gravy. Served with corn and exotic vegetables on the side. I am not a beef person, but I saw the brother relishing it completely.

TUPELO CHICKEN BREAST: Breaded boneless chicken breast tenders marinated mixed with chilli flakes and oregano, with barbeque sauce and honey mustard dip on the side. Deep fried yes, but what the heck. I gorged on gleefully.

MEXICALI BURGER: Mince pounded juicy chicken marinated with a mexi cali marinade. Hot chipotle puree. One of the yummiest stuff I have ever had.

KERALAN PRAWN CURRY: Southern curry, in a base of coconut milk, prepared with mustard cheese and curry leaves. Served with white rice and regular salad. Serving this in an all out American brand is a huge risk, and I wanted to test them on this. And boy, did they come out with flying colours! Not only the soft gobs of prawns were juicy, chewy and king sized, the slightly tangy, slightly spicy and slightly coconutty curry actually exhibited a deft hand behind it.

The accompanying drinks - a pomegranate based DOUBLE BERRY DELIGHT, and the-not-found-here-but-specially-made-for-me VIRGIN PINA COLADA - hit all the right chords too.

TRES LECHES: The sting in the tail was this Mexican dessert. Vanilla sponge cake and condensed milk infused with rum. Whipped cream, Kiwis and blue berries. Super, absolutely super.

The Postlude:
============================================
HRC is a different world altogether. Its a whole combination of all the factors - the grandiose brand, the courteous and well informed staff, the fantastic music, the super food and drinks, and the breath taking mementos - which make the place special. To cap it, the impromptu YMCA show put up by the hosts was a marvellous sight and a memorable episode. I plan to return here soon.

Party with your girls or Croon away as the flamboyant

Its a complete packaga offer - a place for rock n Roll..delicious burgers..awesome drinks..rocking seating and a merchandise store.
The music will blow your mind if you are incline towards english pop, vintage, rock, jazz & many other genres you can think of.
The restaurant staff are friendly. In the middle of no where all of them started dancing to their pre-rehearsed YMCA song which was a surprise and fun.
Jagger Bombs, if you order a set of 7 together, they have a unique way of presentating it.
We ordered HRC veggie burger, labenese burger and humus platter , onion ring . All the dishes were great. We also orderd many mocktails which were very good in taste .

Amazing place friendly staff...Great atmosphere!

Hard Rock Cafe is one of the best places to hangout if you are crazy for nightlife. Hard Rock's ambiance is awesome and it's a place where you can take your friends out or have a celebration. Even Office parties can be made very happening here!! Food choice is limited. The Mix Veg platter which is the signature dish here goes well with booze. The Rock Music simply enthralls you and you shall definitely have a happy high before going out from here!!

Salsa time!

I love going here on a tuesday night for their salsa night! The place is huge so you can dance around easily without bumping into someone! The food and alcohol is always good here and my favourite is the cosmopolitan ! Even on a tuesday night this place gets crowded with a lot of foreigners that come to enjoy the salsa music..! We need more spaces like that to dance!

Awesome place, Crazy People and Kickass Music!!

Love the MUSIC, love the Ambiance, love the Food. It deserves a 10. If you love music it is a must go, the vibe is really Amazing on sat evenings. A couple of friends had recommended the place, but I was pretty skeptical as I was absolutely sure I would not survive the new music or sound, not for my old fun loving soul. But it was truly wonderful, you cant compare the Sound Experience to any other place, and on top I love Videos with the music, no wonder every time I have been there, my friends and of course my wife has to drag me out of there. Not a place anyone would want to leave. Well it seems very expensive, but if you want to frequent this place you need to have a long term plan, I would recommend beer and the chicken platter. The meat is good, you can have the chk breast, and chk bbq with fries and ratatoulie, with so many options I really didn't get to have their burger or the local dishes. But with the Amazing Sound and really stunning Cocktails, you would rather not analyze the food.

Speechless

The place is a package deal. Fabulous ambiance, great food, amazing decor. amazing service. The place will keep up with your expectations. Don't be surprised if you come across a film star or two at HRC. We had alka yagnik and jatin-lalit walk in while dining there. Their fish and chicken are lip-smacking. The food maybe overpriced but considering the quality of food and the kind of service and ambiance the place has to offer, you'd feel the prices are justified. The place has some amazing music too. Although a little too loud to the ears, the songs played will not fail to impress you. Wanting to visit this one again very soon!

Love rock music ??

The last time I wrote a review for the HRC Worli it was deleted. You have to really love rock music to want to go to this place. If you don't the bill is going to hurt bad. The menu says a burger costs 450. Unfortunately that's before the service charge, VAT, Service Tax etc. I have to say the burger was really great, so were the tupelo chicken pieces. The cocktails served are either a hit or a miss. I found the LIIT and the Mojito during happy hours to be the most cost effective drinks. The music is too loud ( its not loud at the Worli outlet) . The staff serving us were good, and the service was quick. I just wish they put alcohol in ALL their cocktails :( . Take care and have a happy new year.

Poor Management

Been there last saturday- 23rd November... getting a table was hell of a job. I called them before going & politely asked for reservation but they said we dont take reservation, guests can walk in & we will give table. I arrived at 11.15 pm, the staff at entrance says, the waiting list is too long & we are not taking any more names... i was like are you kidding me? After little argument they took my name & gave me table within few mins... to my surprise there were lot of empty tables all over but it was miss managed to maximum extent possible. They closed the bar without informing the guests dining inside. I was having my food & requested for another round of drink, but the server says sorry we closed the bar and are closing restaurant soon so no more drinks... again I had to argue & the drinks were served.

I have visited Hard Rock Worli, Pune & three in other countries... this was the worst experience & least expected in the name of HARD ROCK CAFE...

Hard Rock Cafe Pune Much Better

Went to Hard Rock Cafe with very high expectations but frankly very disappointed with the fajitas. They were dry, no salsa with it, guacamole was disappointing. What was good was the amazing nachos and the jumbo combo. Would suggest have starters and push off.

Classic HRC Once More

One of the best things about HRC is that, you can walk in to any outlet of theirs in any country and the ambiance is the same... full of music and energy! Wednesdays at HRC Andheri is band night and the ones performing yesterday were more noisy than melodious. But then again there were a bunch of people enjoying the music they were dishing out. We ordered the Jumbo Combo (Non-Veg), the 10 Oz legendary burger and the Grilled Chicken Marsala. 4 of us (with decent appetites) had a hard time finishing it all. But I've tried all this before. What floored me was the chocolate cake. It has the be the best plain chocolate cake I have had in Mumbai. The service was a little chaotic, but I'm sure it'l fall into place in a few weeks. I can give them a little leeway for the awesome chocolate cake... lol!
