Had been to Tilak Nagar terminus yday....felt like lunching at Sunny. The place is less than 10 mins walk from here. Followed my nose and walked towards the Chembur flyover. The resto is just 200 mts before the flyover. Now to the food.
Started off with a zesty prawns masala fry with thick red gravy but not too spicy. Followed this up with a surmai curry and three soft fluffy appams that absorbed the curry in huge quantities(yes, they serve unlimited curry). At the suggestion of the guy sharing my table, I then tried out their complimentary glass of jeera paani, a luke warm drink that soothed my sore throat no end.
Almost fainted when they handed me a bill for just 450 odd. Knowing the prices of seafood in Mumbai restos, how does Sunny make money at such VFM prices?? Kudos to Mr. Jacob and his smartly dressed, ever helpful & knowledgeable servers. BTW, for beef lovers, people in the know say their beef dishes are to die for.
Families can avail of their two separate a/c seating areas. Just ignore the seedy locality outside this joint and enjoy their substantial menu of authentic malayali cuisine.
