Good Place to Hangout.
I visited this place for the Community Shield Match. It was on a Sunday, I was expecting the crowd to turn up but it wasn't that lively. The waiters kept on asking what to order next just to increase the bill. The Ambiance is really Pleasant. The music is really loud. I was expecting Match Commentary but it was only Rock Music. There wasn't any HD contest even though they have such big screens. No for Screenings, Yes to Hangout.
VALUE FOR MONEYY..!!

Go. Get Insulted
If you want to get Insulted, then this is the place to be. Even after a chnage in the team, the attitude still remains the same - "Guest is not important, His money is". So only if you are there to splurge, go. But second time if you go, you are bound to get insulted. Try it out. I have been a fool to let me happen this to me twice. See the other reviews. None have appreciated it.
had been here for valentines day celebration..... the offer they said was ladies/couple entry free....plus free (tequila)shots for ladies....
we booked vip seats costing around 1000 bugs with cover....thank fully we booked it......
rest ppl who had entered free were just standing round the corners.....
the biggest disappointment was no free shots.....
when asked about the free shots all they had to reply is the offer will start within next 30 minutes..... but for the next 2 hours they did not provide any free booze....
ambience is not that bad, a typical bar, pathetic seating, cosy stting arrangement....
good enuf to fill ur empty stomach...
food was a lil cold.....
cooked very nicely....
heavy on pockets....
a normal club sandwich costs around 300 bugs....
college going crowd...
guys who keep on staring at you when you dance or even walk across the dance floor....
the feeling when the dj played songs was of a ganpati dance types...
mostly bollywood type songs....i would give him a negative 5 for his song collection....
from my side a big no for this place....
the most pathetic place i've ever been to...v called for a starter which took more dan an hour...d staff is least bothered..v finally had to leave dis place empty stomached...by far d worst experience here...their restaurant mahjong is way better wid good service and caring staff..first and last visit @ dis place..never again
I liked the Place, it gives a nice cozy feel of a pub. Good music (80's retro) which I like a lot. though i did go on a Tuesday - the place was quite thanda
What I did not like...
1. They did not have any IRISH Beers!! Or the foreign Beers!
2. The waiters there, were clueless when i asked them these questions. They thought I was joking, silly fellows!
Great place to chill out with a group!
After a long discussion and spending time going through various options, the gang decided to go back to an old favorite, Irish Pub. Walked in to and thankfully there was seating available in spite of a ManU/Newcastle match being screened. A quick run through of the menu gave us some great options for a bunch of cocktails. All the cocktails we tried were pretty well made, kudos to the great barman! The staff were also patient and quick to respond to the hazaar queries about preparation of items, both cocktails and food.
Tried out some mushroom starters, AWESOME!! Moved through some of the other items on offer, and the food was great. Though once the place filled up, getting a waiter to attend to our table was quite a chore. Also, some of the orders take forever to turn up. We had to wait for 40 mins for an order of Bruschetta; it eventually turned up (cold) when we were about to finish up with our main course! The Music! For most of the evening the DJ was playing some good music, mixing classic rock with more contemporary music, however towards the end of the evening, he started mixing genres, what kinda killed the nice fun we were having. It really does not help alternating one trippy house track with one metal track. Would have been more fun if he tried sticking to one genre!! The most disappointing part was the call for 'Final food Order - Kitchen is closing' coming in at 2330! I mean, which city are we in. 1130 pm for the final order is waaay too early!!
All in all, this is a great place to go and hang out with a bunch of friends. The food and booze does not disappoint. We had a great time!!
Knowledgeable Staff, ready to check back and confirm if they are not sure about something.
Well prepared, nicely presented food.
Great selection of booze, great prep with cocktails and other assorted drinks.
Good music for most of the evening
Staff can be hard to get hold of when the place fills up
Food can take quite long to get to the table
Music needs to be more consistent
Last food order to be placed at 1130 pm!
Nice Place to hang out with frenz
I like this place for its music, for the excellent bar services, the amazing cocktails that they make and for the okay food. I wnt there with my frenz and we sat at the bar area since the whole place was full, but sitting at the bar area was also grt. We enjoyed the music, The place isnt also that costly, One pint of kingfisher costs around 160 bucks which is pretty reasonable. However, one shud try their cocktails, teh bar tender is awesome. The drinks that he makes, he issurely experienced. Service is good and people are warm and they make you comfortable at he place by helping you out with the place and its services. I like this place and I wud like to visit Irish Pub again. :)
Small place with good music and drinks
The place is very small, it can get overcrowded if they are screening football match. But if they are not it provides a perfect place for a metal head, the DJ is kind enough to play the track you request (Metallica's one is his favorite :P).
Good place to have a beer or two and watch your favorite team, but if your are hungry avoid this place as the food is not that great.
A truly ghastly place to hangout!!
If I visit a place, what I personally look for is the ambiance, crowd, music and food and drinks. If I have to discuss the ambiance first I would say Inside ambiance- Sad and Boring, Outside- too hot and pitch dark. Crowd- I guess that was invisible. Music was one good thing that made me sit at this place for about an hour or so... Food I thought was over rated...
behaviour is terrible..
when we contacted them, we were informed about the "unlimited" package...
but when we booked there, nd went...
we realised that nothing was unlimited.... :(
we were a group of 20 members from IIT-B....
nothin was appreciable... atleast we didnt even get 1 mocktail each...
ckicken was okaay... nd they provided only 1 nonveg maincourse contrary to mentioned(2) ... :( and finally for "dessert" he provides a small scoop of VANILLA icecream...... OMG :-o
but the drinks were good.....
Good for party people
After a hectic day in the office me and my colleagues decided to go to this place for dinner. As soon as we enter it seems like some dark place.. but soon we get used to the ambiance. Music was loud. Couple of my friends went for Hookha and some went to play pool including me.
We reached this place around about 12.30 in the midnight. After 1.30 they refused to serve more as they said that cops will trouble them. Overall a good place to refresh your mind.
I always had an impression that the Irish Pub is a very seedy place with seedy crowd and all that... but I was wrong. I went there with a bunch of friends on a Friday night, after hunting for a table at 3-4 places.. surprisingly this place was almost empty. We chose the outside area to sit coz a lot of friends in the group were smokers and you can smoke on your table there. Also we liked the red hot lighting and the cushioned sitting arrangements..
We all were a little apprehensive about ordering cocktails but the cocktails were not bad at all.. especially the Kamikaze shots that came to us complimentary as it was a girl's night at Irish Pub! :)
The food again was surprisingly very tasty.. the potato wedges with the tartar sauce was delicious! The fries were extremely fresh and crispy and yumm... the chicken was tender and nice...
If you have nowhere else to go and also don't want to spend too much then I guess this place works.. just to catch up and have drinks with your friends...
The only major turn off was that there was no music. Much later they put on VH1 on the big screen at the outside area so we got to hear some good rock but that was incidental.. there was no arrangement for music otherwise.
Not good for GROUP party!!
this place is very good but the way they treat you is pathetic.
recently I have reserve the place for about 20 people in outer are hall for my small treat to my friends. but when we reached there the way treat us was unbelievable.
the place was booked in advance & there was some party going on from before only. I dont know then why they give me booking. on that they were trying to sell me something they have called ming which is good for families because there was no music no Indian food or any thing which we like.
later, we tried to fit in there terms & condition because our group was little big & we has already announced that we are meeting at So Called Irish Pub.
On the they didnt provide the proper service!
Fed up of all things & bearing there pathetic service & behavior of staff we decided to move to some where else.
Drinks, not food
Decided to try this place out on Saturday after reading good reviews on Burrp n coz my usual watering hole was bursting at seams with people :)
Nice place with cool lighting, English decor and an outdoor section where they serve hookahs. As it was too hot outside, we hit the indoor a.c. section. The first thing that hit me was that the place was virtually empty on a weekend night with just a two tables occupied, though few people were enjoying hookahs outside. The DJ was churning out nice tracks and was open to requests.
Imported liquor bottles were displayed tastefully at the bar. Tall bar stool like chairs make for interesting seating but would have been better if they were cushioned. The tables are a tad small if you intend to have food but just the perfect size for drinks. Some couch-like seats are also available.
Nice collection of imported beers - Hoegaarden, Becks, Stella Artois etc. Started by ordering a round of Bacardi and a drought pitcher and surprise surprise the pitcher is actually a worn out plastic water jug. Now c'mon guys, this befits neither the place nor the price. Get some nice glass pitchers. One good thing was that beer served in pilsners rather than mugs (I just hate drinking beer out of a mug). Didn't try the cocktails or hookahs though.
Starters were not up to mark - mushroom starter was too dry and chicken pieces were hard. Salad was good. They also provide some plain salad and peanuts for free. Servers are attentive and promptly refill your glasses and snack bowls. They also have a lot of promotions and discount offers running such as discount on ordering a 'bucket' of four beers.
Will give it a 3, -1 each for the beer jug and quality of food. Overall a decent place to be on weekends coz there is no rush, one gets a nice place to sit and good music.
Underrated for Sure
I have been to this place a couple of times, and every time I have had a chance to dine/wine here, I haven't been disappointed.
Another reviewer mentioned that's its prices were reasonable, which surprisingly is true. With a name like "Irish Pub" one seems to think "oh crap how much is this gonna set me back...?", but the overall thing is, considering all the other choices we have in similar (as well as some inferior) leagues, you end up paying very much the same as you would at any other place (Sportsbar, MTC, Totos, etc.), in some cases its cheaper.
On a weekend, there is nothing more annoying than planning a night out, without any particular tension or stress as to where we wanna go and what we wanna do.
Getting to that place - and finding it full to the brim, afterwhich we drive around and find the same problem everywhere else... Its SAD.
In any case, more and more I yearn to find a place to kick back and just enjoy a drink without binge-drunk teenagers falling all over me, trust me - when I want that atmosphere (and I'm partial to it), I know where to go to find it.
Then there are those days, and weekends, when you just wanna chill out and talk about nothing in particular with a bunch of friends, within a certain budget (might I add), also would prolly like to mention that, it would be nice if the place you were at, wasn't trying to promote some sort of "hey-look-at-me-and-my-outfit" contest, its annoying to say the least.
Its almost like the pubs/lounges around are more interested in stuffing their places with bodies, than they are with providing a nice ambience for those bodies.
That being said, if this place ("Irish Pub") gets more decent reviews like the one before mine, I have a sinking feeling that here too, as has been the case with many other great establishments, it will be over-crowded in no time.
I must add also, these folks give you tremendous VFM on their veggie platter (I can't remember the name of it, but there was enough there for three people to snack on while drinking, without feeling like they were being short-changed).
I would necessarily recommend this place to those who DON'T want a crazy-party style atmosphere, its more for those that wanna have a place to go to, and chill out on a weekend; rather than think about the appalling crowds, subsequently staying at home with a rented DVD, beers and friends instead.
I would definately recommend this place to anyone who knows how to sip on a beer and just pass the time with their pals.
First of all, I was surprised that this place wasn't already reviewed on burrp. This chilled out pub with great music has been one of our regular haunts for a few years now. Wanna catch up with friends on a Sat night and down some beers without burning a hole in your most rugged denims? Add to that the reality that most decent joints are crammed to the brim on weekends. Thats where Irish pub steps in like the gallant saviour. Its a great place to hang out, but inexplicably, its rarely ever too crowded to get a table. Not that I'm complaining...! We dropped in last Sat, and believe you me, at one stage there were all of 3 tables occupied...on a Saturday night!!
They have a varied and innovative menu (one of the few pubs which actually has a more-than-decent selection of salads). The staff is pleasant, ever-smiling and efficient. The DJ plays some good retro (and other stuff if the crowd wants him to). They do hukkas in the outdoor seating section. Large projection screens air matches. The prices are very reasonable. The location's good. They have valet parking. Now tell me, what more does one really look for in a watering hole?
I'm probably shooting myself in the foot with this review...maybe won't get a table the next time I'm there! But I think I owe it to the guys...it was so depressing to see them idle (and yet enthusiastic) on a Sat night.
