Different Yummy Biscuit Ice Cream
The concept of Biscuit Ice Creams is thick slice of ice cream between two wafers to make it look like biscuit and wrapped in tissue. I have tried many flavors from time to time at this place but my all time favorite is Mango. Even Almond is very nice.
A biscuit ice cream cost range from rs 50 to Rs 70 but ice creams are amazing
Been Around for Generations
I went to this place for the first time about a year ago. I had no idea my mom used to visit this place as a child and she was in disbelief that she had never taken me here as a child during our trips to Mumbai! Anyways, once you start living in a place, it is much easier to find the "hidden treasures" that are present there. K. Rustom is definitely one of them. Besides the fact they have been around for so long, their ice-creams sandwiched between their signature "PickWick-like" wafers add a nice touch. The Black Currant and Butternut Crunch are good choices (if you don't know what to get).
Biscuit Ice-Cream. Sounds different ? Try this !
Its very easy to miss out on this place if you are not aware about it.
Anyone who has studied in South Bombay colleges or stays in South Bombay swears by this place. Biscuit Ice Cream simply means a slab of thick rectangular ice cream between 2 thin wafers. The results are devastatingly awesome :)
The Fresh Cream Mango ( during Summers ) is a must try. Rum and Raisins, Mango Delight , Bitter Chocolate, Rose Ripple , Coconut Crunchy are extremely good. Skip the drinks on the Menu. Just try the biscuit ice cream.
Along with Taj Ice Cream, this is one of the go to places for Ice Cream in Bombay :)
Different Ice-cream Eating Experience
The Place is OLD. And the place hasn't changed a bit in a Lonnng Time. They serve a Piece of Ice-cream between two wafers. Reminds me of my bachpaan when i used to eat chocolate wafers. Definitely a Place to go once.. They have some totally awesome combinations to try.. Go give it a try. Since i am from Jai Hind College,Churchgate , I went here atleast once in two weeks with friends.
If you dont stay in colaba and you have to go to this place , I dare you to find it without asking anyone. ;)
Yummy Ice-Creams..:) Must Visit..!
K. Rustoms is not just an ice cream place!
They have the Most unheard Array of Flavours of icecream that is sandwiched in thin crispy wafers...
Ambiance- Doesnt matter as it doesnt have any
Rum & Raisin,Pineapple,Choco Nut,Black Current are some of my favourites.
But definitely do try their special Mango ice-cream during the Summers.
Its just awesome.
You will literally feel as if you are having a juicy ripe mango.
THe Most Delicious Flavours in a very simple yet innovative idea of sandwich icecream is what makes me come back to this place again and again.
This Is always my dessert joint after I am done dining in the Churchgate area.
Best of all
you ll easily miss out this place........ its exactly opposite to hotel ambassador...there are arnd 35 different flavors of ice cream they offer...i was literally scratching my head which one should i go for....then decided to take one nescafe and another Dates.... Man... it was simply awesome....Extremely impressive! Rs 50 per slice...

Don't judge this place by what it looks like . It has the most amazing ice creams ever . Have been visiting the place since quite some time , the quality remains top notch always . Amazing seasonal flavours . In fact , I can vouch for each and every flavour. Just pick yours .
My personal favourites are Mint ,coffee , rum .
Don't miss this one if you are in the vicinity even though its a little difficult to find.
FREEZE UR HEART!!!!!!
I went there with a friend after dinner last year. The place was bubbly youthful energetic full with young crowd ! Wow it was winter yet we had 4 scoops each from a host of flavours be it Mango, Strwabeery, Chocolate, and d list gors on. After which still I wasnt satisfied and had an orange candy bar!!!!! Was an awesome chilling freezing experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No good no more
While they have been the most popular ice cream store in South Mumbai for the longest time, they don't quite make the mark any more.
Their ice creams taste alright, but melt too quickly. Prices have doubled in last year. Not much to say about their super prompt but very rude service.
Takes away the joy out of a good ice cream sandwich!
Old time charm in a modern world
Totally agree with what the previous reviews say! The Baskin Robbins, Gelatos may come and go - but the simplicity and beauty of this place will always remain the same. Nothing like an ambience here, no AC, basically no frills attached. Just 7-8 chairs lined up on which you can sit and enjoy your ice-cream/curd/lassi. If that's not your choice, there's the Marine drive sea-face close by. Can't ask for anything better!
I've been a regular here since childhood and of all the flavours, I've had the Pineapple ice-cream most number of times! Today was different though. I was with a friend and we tried out Raspberry, Chocolate nut ( which really had lots of nuts) and Vanilla Ice-cream with Chocolate Brownie in Chocolate sauce. Super Yummmm! The prices continue to remain low with ice-creams ranging from Rs.20 to Rs.55. I've had their curd and sweet lassi in the past and they're lovely as well.
If you are at Churchgate/Nariman Point, no meal can be said to be complete without ice-cream at K. Rustoms! Old will certainly and truly, always remain GOLD!
Dis place is a very old and 1 of a kind place for ice creams....
I used to go here with my dad 20yrs ago....still the place doesn't disappoint at all...
There is naturals, baskins, hokey, gellato and various other innovative ice cream parlours, but the ice creams out here are the most authentic and genuine ice creams I have ever had...Its a very special place for me and we love the ice creams out here a lot...a must try its surely 1 of a kind.
You won't find any other place like this in mumbai! It's been around for eons but it's special, different, quirky, & unique! Best place for cold treats. Very reasonable prices. friendly staff. What's better than enjoyin the sunset on marine drive with one of Rustom's delicious ice creams?- Nothin...Am i rite or am i rite?
Forever and ever
Writing this review to bump up this post.... I have to no words for this quaint shop i have been visiting as a kid....even today that slab of ice cream sanwiched between two crisp wafer biscuits gives me complete joy....I do love my amores and natural and bachelors but K.Rustom will always have a special place in my heart.....Its my sincere hope that years from now my wrinkly hands will hold the same sandwich ice cream which once my tender lil hands held...Nostalgia for me.,,,,If you are a Bombaite/Mumbaite/Mumbaikar plz don't miss having this ice cream...
Old is Gold
This place is simply awesome! IF you decide to come here, try the ice cream sandwich. Their rum n raisin is mind blowing. They dont take any short cuts and thats why this place is still doing well. They are open till 11pm and will not say no to anything! All flavours are there and its buzzing at night...a must try!
After searching over burrp, i found this place to be the most ideal place to have an ice cream. N mny a thnx to all d earlier members who had shared their views, i wsnt disappointed at all. Went there last evening with a friend of mine. The lady & her relative were at d counter & by their looks u cn say they were very humble in nature. So i kinda liked their service since they spoke softly & had d patience while i asked so mny questions on various combi's available. after all d talks, i decided to have chocolate walnut & my frnd decided to go for some mango ice cream (she didnt get her original choice so went wid an alternative). I ws taken aback that they served ice cream like a sandwich.. i.e. in between wafers. Wow... that ws d 1st tym i saw an ice cream served in that manner. d taste ws simply awesome. no words.. i finished my ice cream without allowing a single drop of melted ice cream to fall.. it ws dat delicious. Thght of having a 2nd one, but then d environmental condition (rainy) stopped me... Cmng on d pricing front, paid Rs.80 for both d ice creams.. nt bad at all... complete VFM. I wud suggest nearby office / home ppl, to really try out their ice cream... n i bet u wnt regret it!!
Superb Ice-cream at honest prices is not to be found very often in Mumbai. So when one visits K. Rustom Ice Cream (KRIC) and sees the shop itself, let it not be the case that the ambiance and the crowd turns you away. The crowd is there for a reason and as you jostle to get inside and get your hands on on one of the numerous offerings, it all starts to make sense.
KRIC makes delicious ice-creams, with their wafer-biscuits being wildly popular. As with TI-c, one floats on air while alternatively slurping, biting and licking on the ice-cream at hand.
They also have an array of fresh fruit juices, lassis and fruit drinks. Their mango ice-cream, at Rs. 50, is as expensive as it gets though the taste and the consistency does not let one down. Everytime one goes to KRIC, one can be assured about the absence of disappointment with regard to taste. As this place has been extensively reiewed, i do not see the need to sing more paeans about it.
All in all, visiting KRIC is a fulfilling exercise, for the senses as well as the mind.
They Have a Signboard Now!
Hurrah! people who have been here-dont forget to catch the new signboard-hung just outside tanishq's showroom..poeple who havent been here before-rush to see how this quaint place has survived for decades without any form of advertisement whatsoever!
who needs advertisement in newspapers or radios when the icecreams are all little slabs of culinary heaven-from the very famous walnut crunch to my personal favorites coffee and strawberry, from kesar pista to anjeer and many many more-u can try them in cones too but this place is specifically recommended for their icecreams stuffed between 2 sides of biscuit wafers-the biscuit icecream... yummm..m going back there this evening :)
an ideal place to visit after strolling around at marine drive or having a hearty value meal at satkar, shiv sagar, relish or dozens of good eateries in churchgate area.
superb ice cream
this place has been serving great quality ice cream for ages.
the ice creams here are simply heavenly. if you ever go to churchgate then pls visit this place and i can assure you that you will love their ice creams too.

Ice-cream with a difference!
There are very few ice-cream joints as low-profile as K. Rustom. Check the photo...they don't even have a sign-board! Infact, unless someone points it out to you, I bet that you will definitely miss it.
For ages (atleast 20 years), these guys have been serving the bestest-ever home-made sandwich ice-cream. The great thing is that over the 20+ years, quality hasn't been compromised.
The place is extremely basic in decor - no sofas or chairs, no air-con, no ever-eager waiters, etc, - sharp contrast to the swanky ice-cream parlours that we see around us these days.
The flavours range reflects the attraction of this joint - my favourites include walnut-crunch & coffee and the range includes many exotic mix-n-matches. They serve all ice-creams in the form of a sandwich - two wafers in between the ice-cream slab.
Check it out..I'm sure you will enjoy it!
Cheers to Life!
