Great place for snacks
Great place for snacks. Not had a meal here but the Chaats, Pav Bhaji, Ragda Pattice, Chole Batura etc are great. The sweets are great too.
Very pocket friendly too. The service is quick and friendly. Nothing much in the ambiance but it's always neat and clean.
All in all a great place for a quick veg bite.
This is my second visit to restaurent.Lots of new dishes added to their menu. Must try Rasagullaki subzi and Kofta plus a few tandoori starters which were awesome. Also their pasta mama rosa was brilliant. very nice interiors and vouch for the food which was excellent. Only suggestion is that the serving time can be more quicker. This is my second favorite restaurant in Mumbai
Kailash Parbat is known for its chaat and north Indian food for many years now. Besides that they also serve sandwiches, south Indian and Chinese fares as well as sweets. I absolutely love chaat, so I often go to Kailash Parbat. For the hygiene conscious people who relish chaat, Kailash Parbat has some really delicious street food in store for you. I really enjoy eating their Dahi Puri. It is the perfect mix of tangy, sweet and spicy chutneys. I also like Kailash Parbat's Chole Bathura and Samosa Chaat. Overall, Kailash Parbat is a nice vegetarian restaurant, best for its chaat and north Indian fare. It has always been a pleasant experience for me.
An evening with family ruined with SAD food !
My family loves chat especially my mother loves bhel and sev puri. So i thought to take them out on my birthday to this much hyped place called kailash parbat. The ambience was quiet nice but thats about it. The service and food are pathetic. It takes good 10 mins for the waiter to come to your table. IF you have ordered 5 items in the menu please expect your fifth dish to arrive after an hour. That is because each dish arrives individually after a gap of 15 mins. Is the wait worth it ?? errr you might as well take a stroll outside and find a roadside hawker serving you quick and better taste and hygienic chat you wish for inside this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend anyone to organize an event or plan a special evening with your friends and family to this restaurant especially if you are a fast food lover. Food was tasteless, sour and stale!
you feel like having something sweet post-lunch, a friend comes up to u n says she's getting something from kp, you don't want to order rabdi coz the online menu says 80 bucks, so u go for the rasmalai priced at 22. ur friend comes back with a bill saying this warm yellow excuse of a sponge in a tiny plastic cup is actually for 60 bucks.
and the rasmalai tastes like an onion.
which is worse?
Should strictly stick to chaat and Sindhi food
Been eating at kailash parbat from childhood (talking about the first kailash parbat in sobo)would like to say that it has changed ,but in a good way.The best part of the food here is the chaat. You can have any chaat and i can bet it will leave you mouthwatering and is a good palette cleansing from all that crap road side chat.A warning please dont order anything in the menu which is western cousine they can mess it up really bad.If you go here should try the dal makhani and somthing unusual is the sezwan dahi puri.
March 4, 2013response from management at Kailash Parbat:

I had been here before and when me n my friends decided to meet i suggested this place .
It was a saturday afternoon so the place was full of people leading to a lot of noise.
We ordered dahi puri, kachori chaat ,aloo arvi tuk and awadhi biryani .
the dahi puri and kachori were average nothing great ,the rice was ok ,the arvi tuk was good.
overall it was ok experience nothing great i felt even our neighbourhood chaat wala makes better dahi puris n kachoris.
The restaurant is big but the seating was extremely uncomfortable
I have had food from Kailash Parbat in the past, but mostly in the smaller outlets in shopping malls. With the same expectation, I decided to try out this bigger outlet.
The ambience at the restaurant was very average. It was crowded (in terms of placement of tables), and unimpressive.
Food was very good though. And given the variety that they serve, I wish they gain some inspiration from Haldiram, and make a better interior setting and overall experience.
They could keep me Hungry
This time I tried their Home Delivery.. and I was let down!!!!
I placed an order for 2 Ragda Pattice, Paneer Butter Masala and a Veg Pulao. The order was placed at 8:15pm. I was told that delivery will take time. I asked how much and was told 45 mins. I was ok with it since it was HOLI and confirmed the same.
Till 9:15 there was no sign of the parcel coming in - so I called up once again and the guy on phone told me "nikal gaya". Cool I thought and waited. 9:45 and there was again so sign of food. To be noted - I ordered at 8:15 and till 9:45 there was no delivery made. Frustrated I called back to ask them about it at 10.
What was I told now??? "Aadha Ghanta aur lagega"!!!!! Imagine!!!! I lost my cool and blasted on him. He started making excuses first saying order kharab hogaya and non-sense. When I quarrelled about the time taken - he said "aap ko bola tha time lagega" - yes - I said - 45 minutes I was told. The guy refused to agree that he said the order will be delivered in 45 minutes. I was red with anger (and more important Hunger). The guy on phone had a piece of my mind and I asked for the order to be cancelled. Before he could say anything more I hung up.
If you guys cant manage Home Delivery - mention so. It is OK not to offer a service than to offer it in such a way!!!!
Kailash Parbat needs NO introduction.
1. Chaat Platter-- AWESOME. MUST TRY.
2. Aloo Tikki-- Crap.
3. Pani Puri-- You have to make it on your own.. No fun!
4. Ice Cream Sodas-- The blue one is awesome. You gotta try it out.. Don't have the kalakhatta. I personally didn't like it much.
5. Kesari Paneer Tikka-- BEST Paneer starter I've had. TILL DATE. I am not sure of the exact name, but it costs Rs. 170. It melts in the mouth..
6. Dahi Puri-- Awesome.
We filled ourselves with this and we never got to ordering the main course. :P
Had a bad day
Have been there twice. The first experience was ok. The second was awful. Was seated in the back half of the restaurant. The ambience, the service, the waiters clothes all pathetic. The soup was cold and the manager kept touching it on my hands to make me feel how hot it was. In response to my complain the manager claimed that they were all sleepless for the last 3 days (long weekend). Never heard that one before :)
There was a long queue nonetheless. May be my experience was one odd case.
zzzzzzzz (:| Service??
Kailash Parbat - Andheri (W)
On the day of Visarjan... with an apetite like Ganpatti Bappa and starving from hunger - I, alongwith a bunch of family members went to Kailash Parbat at Andheri West.
Located on Link Rd just between Fame and Infiniti, this place gets a thumbs up for chosing such a convenient location. "Table for 10?" - I asked (with no mood to wait) and "Please Come" said the manager.
They were quick to join two tables for us - but they did not clean them. Two requests - and the table was cleaned. We ordered for the main course right away - 2 dal - 2 aloo dum - 2 chilli milly along with papad and cold drinks. The papad and cold drinks came right way but we had to wait on and on and on for the food.
All this time I had look at the ambience.. crowd etc... all decent - excepting the smell of paint in the restaurant. When the question was popped - the manager said that the place was being re-painted. Alright!. I had to request the waiter time and again to fill water into my glass.
Oh finally the food comes after a good 45 minutes. Excellent was the food. Really good Dal and Aloo Dum. Chilly milly was good too - and good that they made a chilly milly without chilly (hahahaha) for an old-age uncle of mine. Naans were good too and rice was just yum.... five stars for the food.... oh and ya... the Gulaab Jamun and Kulfi Falooda were really good as well...
My cousin kept requesting for the always available and complimentary Chutney time and again - but they took half n hour to get it... really sad...
Then comes the bill - overcharged. We were charged for 3 peas pulao even though we ordered only 1. When pointed out - the manager apologized and adjusted. But why make blunder - check before you send it...
I wouldn't say they had lesser staff being a Visarjan day. The waiters and managers were ample in number. There's something wrong with the service people.... or may be .. it was my bad day...
i'd still recommend the place for good food with frenz and family - and will comment for the service next time.
Pani Puriiiiii is one thing here which would not stop tempting U,Pani Puriii for me is like "have as many you can "
Sindhi food out here is delicous but i dnt knw wht the previous fellow wrote abt the glass in the ice cream .
Koki with curd was made 2 perfection, aftr long time i had ani basar which was feel @ home.
ambience was soothing wit good lounge music
service here was complementing...
Overall it was great experience for us
I have had the food here long time back during college days, it used to be good and reasonable. However, I just made a casual visit sometime back to this place..had a Dahi Puri chat. It was quite decent as expected but the real shocker was the price! At 79 bucks for a plate of Dahi Puri it has to be exemplary which sadly it was not. Gurukripa @ Sion or Manas @ Chembur (E) serve a better a fare at a much lower price...
i hate going to fame cinemas andheri, the road from andheri station to fame cinemas is ALWAYS jam packed with bumper to bumper traffic uggggggggh!
so i have decided to go there only when i have company to yank wid de whole way nd we r hungry enough to first raid kailash parbhat nd den go into the cinemas (so dat even if de movie is not good we can atleast sleep peacefully in de AC theatre after kailash's hearty meal :D)
now what to have here-have anything, its all awesome and portions are generous for 1 starter and 2 main course dishes to stuff 2 people.
the variety of dishes on offer is mindboggling and i always take a minimum of 10 minutes to decide wot to order (i m a pakka foodie who never takes more dan 2 mins to decide wot to eat-shaan ke khilaaf u see :D) but here i m always confused as to what to order-just imagine, there are nearly 5 types of chana bhaturaas available!!! and all are YUMMY!
I have tried all chana bhaturaas, many types of chaat-dere was dis schezwaan chaat wich was awesome, paneer tikka chaat-yumm yumm! many oder weird names u can see on de menu, just order anything dat catches ur fancy nd lick de plate clean.
My sis loves de ragda pattice, my mom is a special fan of naan nd firaangi subzi (dats de name rite? i m quite bad wid names-naam mein kya rakha hai :D)
we have also tried paneer chilly and hakka noodles-while i thaut the noodles were extra dry, on eating wid paneer chilly gravy even it turned out quite good.
nd dont forget to have the world best rabdi-its chilled and one spoon will transport u straight to heaven and also have gulab jamun-piping hot nd u wil not want it to end...
all in all go here atleast 4-5 times to try out a variety of dishes, dats de only way 2 take full advantage of dis culinary heaven :)
Kailash is the Parbat to dine!!
Chik Chik Pik Pik Intro:
After getting mindf*cked between 9 a.m to 6 p.m. in your corporate life trying to be the BOSS or the UNDERDOG, having random canteen food just NOT for fun, i'm sure you must be wondering "yaar raat ka khaana kuch swaadisht hoo jaaye".....This is place then!!
Kitna Time Lag Sakta hai:
45 minutes from Bandra, 30 minutes from Santacruz and asap from Andheri. If you plan to come from Borivali side then also it will take you 45 minutes max.
Toh aab aandar jaaye yaa waiting hai:
Mostly there is a waiting list awating "just for you" [pun]. Jot down your name to the guy standing outside and he will call your name 3 times as soon the table is ready, if you dont turn up by that time [your bad] its not rude but yeah, its part of his job, he then gives the table to the others.
Waiting is around 20 to 30 minutes max. If you are "ooye lucky, lucky ooye" then 10 minute bhi ho sakta hai nahi toh direct walk in.
Calender Khaana Lao:
The moment you enter KP the place is so much filled with food, aap to bina menu dekhe hi khaana order kar sakte ho. I usually go after office. Sexy ambiance and healthy environment So, me and my friend we start of with:
Mushroom Grill Masala
Paneer Tikka [paneer ki maut]
Cheese Bhature [aaaaahhh brutal ekdum]
Firangi Sabji [for a change made in india]
Ice Tea is one awesomeness thing there.
Always try their sweet dishes. Koi toh nayi dish rehti hai unke paas. Its either Gajar Halwa, Dudhi Halwa, Kharwas, Gulab Jamun, Kala Jamun, and many more...
Do not forget to try the CHAAT too..its freakingly amazing.
Damages: 600 to 750 ke beech mein. Wasool ekdum khaana...
Bas Review Khatam...chalo get back to whatever you were doin ;)
Been there last month for the first time & had some variety of items starting with Bombay Basket Chaat , Sindhi Roti , Dosa, Noodles , Chaas & desert , every item was good but the Chaat was an ultimate one . The Chhaas ( Butter milk ) was as fresh as it can be . Nice ambience to be there with family & also look forward to go there to try some typical sindhi dishes .
Good Jain Food
Went here during navratri time, but never got around writing about the restaurant. The food was excellent although we had a big problem with the waiter. We could not tell the waiter about his BO but great food and good environment a safe bet for jain food when those festivals come around
Average Buffet Fare...
We landed up here for a quick brunch on a saturday afternoon, and I decided to for the buffet rather than a-la-carte .. Buddy, the fare totally disappointed me. I felt I should have downed 50 panipuris instead which are the appetizers on the Buffet. The main course had 2-3 kinds of paneer dishes (dry and gravy!) and then there was some noodles and fraud Stir Fry Vegetables. It was as if you did not walk into a buffet , but you walked into an average indian punjabi shaadi (marriage reception) where they serve all this stuff!
So i guess I'll skip them for a long meal next time onwards and go with the tried and tested cholle bhature or try some sindhi dishes
Average Sindhi dishes
I have been to this place many times but had not tasted sindhi dishes at all. Yesterday we ordered sindhi dishes for food and was not very happy to have it. We ordered Seyal Paneer, Aani Basar, Sai Bhaji with sindhi chapatis. Sai Bhaji tasted more like mixture of Spinach and chana dal, didn't had authentic taste at all. Being sindhi, I love aani basar, taste of aani was not great, it had way too much of poppy seeds. seyal paneer was good.
This place can turn you into an Veggie.
Trust me, this place is the best place to have Vegetarian Food. The place is huge and has a proper eating ambiance. Always filled with people (rich people) and good food.
There are old movie posters in Kailash Parbat style. Beautiful place. There is a huge chaat counter and sweets counter. Waiters and Managers are polite. There's always a waiting list. Whenever i go i'm on the waiting list. Try the Firangi Sabji, its super class and Mushrooms.
This place is perfect for Birthday Parties or any family occasion.
Been there a Couple of days ago!!!
Its A Great Place N Good ambiance.. Not to mention even the staff was good too...
But the best was the food..
We had Pani Puri, Dahi Sev Puri, Dahi Bada, College Grill Sandwich, Idli, Rava & Masala Dosa, Cholle n Kasuri Methi Bhature, Chocolate Shake n Masala Chaas... Everything was just amazing..
My Special Pick Would be Cholle n Kasuri Methi Bhature
We Celebrated my sisters Birthday there.. All Of us had a real Blast
For Any one who enjoys chaat pakodi's.. Kailash Parbat is the Best Bet!!!
Disappointing Sarson da saag
Kailash Parbat has been a long time favourite for all kinds of snacks like Pani-puri, Bhel-puri etc. Over the past several months, I've also tried out their other stuff as well - South Indian, North Indian, Sandwiches etc. The food generally has been of good taste.
But, since the past couple of times, I've come back disappointed. The most recent experience was with their Sarson Da Saag, Makke di Roti and Gajar Halwa combo. The Sarson was not authentic at all. I doubt whether it was even Sarson. Even the Makke di Roti has some other flour mixed in it. The Gajar Halwa had an overdose of Ghee. The only saving grace for them was their service, hence the two stars.
Now since this is a seasonal item, the window of opportunity to savour Sarson is pretty limited. Last year we feasted on it at KP (read this - http://mumbai.burrp.com/establishment/review/6_ln).
I don't know what's up with KP (did you guys get a new cook?), please bring back authentic Sarson or stop serving it altogether. Don't ruin it for us.
Sev sev ... Save me!
Whatever happened to good old KP?!
Sorry to disappoint all you KP lovers... I know there are many out there.
Ordered in from Kailash Parbat yesterday and was terribly disappointed with the food. We ordered some sev puris, a bhel and a dahi puri.. The service was efficient but the sev puri had abosolutely no flavour because it was just loaded with sev.. Also, the puris and the sev seemed to have been fried in bad oil. Puris were a weird combination of uncooked, soggy and dripping in oil. The curd in the dahi puri was sour and the bhel wasn't too appetizing either.. all you could taste is mouthfuls of sev. It just seemed like they had done a rush job of delivering some stale food. Wonder if this is just the case with home deliveries or is KP really going downhill.
Kailash Parbat scores one more point
Off late i seem to be becoming a big fan of this place. This time it is for their timely home delivery.Ordered lunch today from there. The person who took the order said he will take 15 mins to deliver and amazingly he kept up his word. The order was promptly delivered within 15 mins and as usual the food we ordered (rotis and pashtooni dal) was mouth watering.
Had been here yesterday night. Was scanning the menu and Corn Curry struck my fancy.Thought will give it a shot.Did not turn out to be a bad choice at all.In fact was simply delicious. Also the pani puris were excellent. The fruit salad with ice cream was okie okie.Neither gr8 nor bad.All in all a good dinner.
Simply cheap n cheerful
Kailash Parbat has never disappointed me in terms of food. Yes, its quite simple with no frills attached, but the food, no matter what you order, is always enjoyable. Went their last night for dinner (actually for some paani puri :D ). We had a pitcher of masala chaas, paani-puri, diwani handi subji, some rotis and sev puri. A meal for 3 cost us about 450 bucks. Not bad eh?
Of course their chats are great and a must have but their daal-pakwaan (only available on Sundays), Indian veggies and sandwiches are delicious too.
Nice place but very slow service
I had been there few days back.. I had heard lot of good things about this place and even my girlfriend told me lot of good things about it. But when we went there, we did not find the service quick enough. The table was not clean at all and I had to ask them thrice to clean the table and it took them more than 15 minutes to serve us the water. We finally managed to order the stuff, it arrived pretty late, started with chole bhature and appetizers flowed in along with the sandwich. Infact we had to complain about the service to one of the managers around (the tall fat guy) and the reason we were given was, some party is going on in the inside hall, so our guys are busy there. I did not expect such kind of excuse from a manager of the restaurant, if there is party going on then hire more staff, why should the party affect everyone. The worst part here was, the very next minute I saw most of their guys roaming around couple of firangs sitting besides us.
Talking about the food, it was pretty good, loved the chole bhature, Sandwich was just OK (I think it was some chilli maxican sandwich or something). We had also ordered some mirch kachori chaat or something, it was bad. But I guess the bad service might be one of the exceptional cases.
I am going to visit their another restaurant Vanilla tomorrow, let's see how it goes then.
Sarson da saag, makke di roti and gaajar halwa
I know I am reviewing this place again. But this time it is not for their chaat or pani puri. This time it is for their seasonal punjabi food - Sarson da saag and makke di roti (Mustard greens and corn flour tortilla, aka Saag-Roti).
During these winter months, Kailash Parbat offers a combo meal of Saag-Roti, followed by an awesome Gaajar ka halwa. Both. the Sarson and the Gaajar halwa (Carrot halwa) tasted authentic punjabi and were delicious. The combo meal is priced reasonably at Rs. 190 and is enough for two people.
I tried it last Sunday and am planning to head there again tomorrow. This stuff is seasonal, so make sure you try it out before it is gone.
Great sit-down place for chaat
This is one of my favorite spots to eat at. I always start out with their excellent paani puri, and usually follow it up with another chaat dish, such as dahi puri or bhel puri. I've never been disappointed here with food quality, wait times, or service. It's no wonder why they are always packed. Great for lunch and for a very casual dinner. Not recommended for a romantic night out, but perfect to grab a bite here before heading to Fame or Cinemax for a flick. Don't miss the daal pakwan served on Sunday's only.
Go crazy with chatpat food
Let me state that I am not from Mumbai. I am a Bangalorean who is in town on some personal work. I found this place on Burrp! and decided to give it a shot.
Man, what a place this is. We don't have such chaat, pani-puri goodness in Bangalore.
On Sundays, Kailash Parbath serves this special Sindhi food called Dal Pakwan. It was yellow daal served with some sort of a fried bread. This was recommended by the Manager and now I can say don't ever miss this when you goto Kailash Parbat on a Sunday.
I also tried their pani-puri and that was just too good. Overall a very positive experience.
(We need places like this in Bangalore)
The best place for chaat
This is the best place to go to when you are in a mood to have chaat, bhelpuri, panipuri or dahipuri or any of the snacky stuff.
We ordered a chaat platter which had three dahi-sev puri's, three something puri's and some chips with tamarind chutney. We also ordered dahi batata puri. By the time we finished the above, we were just too full.
The cold coffee we ordered, was a tad too sweet for our tastes.
