Puli Munchi is a must try.

So this was our 2nd visit to this place because we just couldn't forget the amazing taste of Puli Munchi, Fish fry and Appam/ Neer Dosa. We yearned for a repeat of that taste and boy we were not dissappointed. A generous portion enough to fully satisfy 4 hungry people we finished between the two of us with 8 Neer dosas and a huge tandoori pomfret :). Absolutely lip smacking...of course am going there again for just the same thing and am sure I wont be disappointed.

Never ever again...

We tried dish after dish to see what was so good about this pretty well-known joint. Each one was worse than the previous one !! Washed it all down with two Thums Ups, the highlight of our meal!

Yummy Puli Munchi and other Manglorean food

Though this restaurant has been around for quite a while, I kept off it as the name and front door gave me the impression that it was just a drinking whole. That changed when looking out for a seafood place that would take orders after midnight. Remembering that someone had mentioned that Maharaja serves seafood, decided to check it out. Wasn't too wrong about the drinking hole impression....but the food is yum! We ordered prawns puli munchi, bombil fry and prawns gassi with neer dosa. All of it was excellent and I went back for more thrice in quick succession within a week for more. Made sure I ordered the prawns puli munchi each time. I've been warned though by my Manglorean friends that the Puli Munchi there is not all that authentic. But what the heck I loved it. Prices are low-moderate. Though I didn't drink there, I noticed that the cost of alcohol there is ridiculously low. No wonder there were large groups of kind of leery men bonding over their drink and not too many women around. The original Maharaja is supposedly somewhere in Oshiwara, but I'm yet to check it out.
