Sorely disappointed

I was at Maya on Feb 6 with my global CEO in between meetings. We asked for a table for 5 but there are tables only for 2, 4 and then 8. So we accepted a table for 4 and a chair was added. I spotted a table for 8 and asked for it but was refused that it was only for a larger group. Anyway we sat down and then we spotted a mosquito sitting on the quarter plate. And then a minute later another on the far side. We complained and one of the attendants said they will inform pest control. None came. Anyway we ordered for our thalis. I was seated on the extra chair which was on wooden flooring, and just behind the railing. The wooden flooring was probably loose, so every time one of the servers passed behind me, my chair shook. Happened several times during the meal. Because the chair was so close to the railing behind, one of the server bumped the chair once as well. At the end of my meal, I pointed out that the table of 8 had remained vacant the entire time we were there. Lousy experience overall.

Reasonable food, boring ambience

Dal Makahani was outstanding. We even ordered additional plate for take-away. But the rest of it was just ok. The celebrated dahi pakoras didnt excite. We also tried the mutton in red curry, and creamy fish. Both were reasonably good, but nothing beyond. I was disappointed with the ambience - boring, corporate-like. Didnt even feel like taking a photo.

Dear Amit,

I am glad that you enjoyed the the Dal Makhani. I have shared your feedback on the other dishes with the chef.

In reference to the ambiance, Maya's decor draws inspiration from it's name creating a contemporary yet rustic feel to the restaurant.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Quiet and Delish

I'd always loved the service at the hotel but never landed up eating at any of the restaurants. Wasn't sure if I'd like it given the food during conferences was average. Finally landed up going twice. A quiet place ideal for good food and conversation.

Food: Both times we went they served a small cup of sorba before the meal.Try the Dahi ke kebabs and the melt in your mouth paneer tikka. Loved the sauces/ chutneys the starters were served with. Good quantity and extremely filling. Avoid the baby corn seekh kebabs. The Paneer Makanhi and Black dal are delish and leave you wanting more.

Service: I think Trident BKC has the best service I've seen in a five star from the doorman to the wait-staff. Always smiling they tend to go out of their way to make it a memorable experience. We were celebrating a birthday and despite telling them last moment they managed to get a cake. They also got us garlic bread since my dad really wanted to have it despite them being an Indian restaurant. The chef also came up to check if the food and everything was ok.

It's my number 2 for North Indian food post ITC.

Dear Salonee,

I am glad you visited Maya. It was a pleasure to have you dine with us. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback.

The Dahi Ke Kababs is one of Maya's signature dish and we are glad you enjoyed them as well as the paneer tikka. We do take note of your comment on the baby corn seekh kabab and will definitely work to improve them.

We are glad you enjoyed your experience at Maya and look forward to having you back soon.

My team and I look forward to welcoming you back on your next vi

Great meal at a great place

We were celebrating my in law's 65th birthday with a group of 10 (6 adults + 4 kids). The food, the service and the hospitality completely shook us - who ever knew such astonishingly good food could come out of the Trident?

Awesome vegetarian food - dahi ke kababs, the paneer starters, the arbi starters - each a masterpiece in taste and flavor. The mains were equally good - from the dal to the koftas to the chokka hua dahi, all except the paneer main dish which was a little too oily for my liking.

For dessert we got a special Indo Western cake - with chenna, shondesh and pistachio all with a white chocolate topping. Something genuinely innovative!

All this by the wonderful Jyotika who knew her way around the menu and was part of what we were ordering and not just on the sidelines. I have never experienced this level of hospitality - obviously a lot of work has gone into it and full marks to the hotel and to Jyotika as well. Thank you for all your effort - jyotika - you made the difference!!

Top Class.

June 2011.
Went To Maya at the Trident ( BKC ).
Theres Obviously no need to add that the hotel is grand and superb.
I had gone there for the Thali Lunches that they offer. I went at about one oclock. and the restaurant was completely empty. Being a Friday they were serving the Rajasthani Thali. Never ate Rajasthani cuisine in my life but it was delicous. The Staff is very good polite and kind. The ambeince is good. Very Good. Total Bill was about 3100.. 1495 per thali ( veg or non veg ). All in all a good expereince. Totally recomended.

Ambiance: 4
Service/Hospitality: 5
Food: 4.5
Overall Experience: 4.5

Had heard a lot about this place from my friends and had been wanting to go here for quite sometime. So on Valentine's Day decided to give it a try and take my partner to this place.
The restaurant is elegantly furnished. Not to over the top but quite subtle.
The staff was extremely polite and gave perfect hospitality. The attitude of the staff was amazingly polite.
The stewards knew their job to perfection and suggested perfectly as per our taste.
For the starters we ordered Paneer Tikka and asked him to make it spicy and to our surprise that came really spicy (which is rare in such restaurants) and the paneer was super soft. It just melted in our mouth. For the drinks we ordered Fire & Ice which tasted good and a Pomegranate Juice (well I don't remember the name of it) which was superb.
As we were only 2 of us we got half full with the starter only so we opted to order rice instead of roti's.
We ordered Jeera Rice, Dal Makhani and Kadai Vegetable.
Jeera Rice was properly boiled and cooked in ghee and tasted too good even without dal and/or vegetable. Than comes the Dal Makhani. Hmmmm..... delicious. Loved it to the core and the Kadai Vegetable was just too perfect to spice up the food.
A bit on the expensive side with our bill footing upto Rs. 2,500/-.
But well enjoyed every bit of it and was worth every penny.
On the whole the experience was too good and will surely visit here again and would also recommend to visit this place atleast once if not more.
Thumbs up..!!!
