Poor Service

The ambience was nice when we came In, the food was decent, but what I couldn't tolerate was the bad service, the waiters are not trained well, we had finished eating our appetizers and were asked to switch our table by the waiter, that made me furious, so I got up and went to the manager and told him to make my bill because I wanted to leave, the manager also did not apologize or ask us to finish our meal

superb

From one side, one can see the mountains very closely (which is next to impossible in mumbai) and from the other side one has the beautiful view of the Powai lake. Food is good and not too spicy and oily with good portions. The Pan Ice cream was tasty and the service was quick too. only drawback was we had to wait for more than an hour and half to get in.But dessert had smelly oil bread peices in rabbadi and we had to return it.

wow just wow

Situated close to hills, this restaurant has a lovely view, making you feel as if you are not in Mumbai. Service excellent....food excellent. Cocktails are made perfectly. The other side of it is Breeze lounge whichh has a lovely view of powai lake. Heaven for vvegetarians, as this is just veg restaurant.Very innovative low calories punjabi food for those calorie conscious. We tried the 5 spice naan which is a good variety in breads. the paneer was soft.bread basket was economical

good enough

Visited this place a couple of times for celebrating friends birth day party last vist was on 6th dec, with few jain people . It is in the top floor of the Supreme Tower building in Powai. Its sister restaurant has a nice view of the whole of Powai including the lake. Mehman Nawazi is adjacent to it and is an open air restaurant. The ambience is good Cool breeze is almost always On but during summers There are not many air coolers or fans which will keep you cool. You end up sweating. Let me warn you that they have only veg menu.. Sorry non-veg lovers!!! We had ordered a paneer starter and it was out of the world. Food was reasonably well prepared...their Indian bread & Dal Makhani was nice...the service was slow further slow once people pour in. There is a huge screen put up. Over all good.one needs to reach on early as their is waiting during week ends.

Not worth the Hype

The ambience is good, but the music of the next door lounge (Breeze), kind of pesters you when you want to dine peacefully...Food was reasonably well prepared...their Indian bread & Dal Makhani was nice...but nothing was incredible about the place...around Rs 800 per person with Mocktails serves to be an expensive affair...the service was innitially good, but when it started getting crowded it seemed to slow down a bit...their complimentary pan shots are better than Punjab Grill

Avg Fare - Open air rest. and you end up sweating

Visited this place a couple of times. It is in the top floor of the Supreme Tower building in Powai. Its sister restaurant has a nice view of the whole of Powai including the lake. Mehman Nawazi is adjacent to it and is an open air restaurant. Being open air, it is a put off during lunch time. There are not many air coolers or fans which will keep you cool. You end up sweating. The other put-off is both times we visited, we were the only table occupied. So, they need to market the place more. In terms of food, it is good though strictly vegetarian. The Dal Makhni is really good. In terms of ambiance, apart from being open air, it is strictly average.

Decent

We went there for a family. I think it was only the first month og opening. It was a weekend so we had to wait for half an hour. manager was courteous and kept us updated about time it will take. Waiters too were friendly.
The Food is good. We being Jains, we loved it as it is a pure vegetarian and more importantly, food tastes good :)
The best part is ambience. Cool breeze is almost always On :) . If you reach there just before sunset, i guess you will enjoy the view and the whole setting eve more. I dont know how they manage in monsoons, but if its done properly, then it would be awesome.

The Classy Punjabi

You enter, you're enchanted. You sit, you are served well. You eat, you are tantalized. I may have been a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews but almost all the food that we ordered was perfectly cooked and served. The Tomato Shorba was tangy but slightly overly peppery for our palates. The Lucknowi kebabs with the 3 chutneys were melting in our mouths. The Saag and Dal makhani were out of the world. Ending with the paan shots, which were probably not as exquisite as the ones served at Punjab Grill, but refreshed our palate nonetheless. You do tend to miss the meats though. Be sure to reach there slightly early especially on weekends coz the last time we reached at 10pm and there was a waiting of more than an hour.

Not the place to be

I visit this place today, and I'm not one of those who would sit and write review unless the food is really awful.

It started with a string of bad experiences. At 8 PM half of the restaurant was empty, but still the person at the counter kept us waiting as the tables were "reserved". Had to wait for some time to get in.

We ordered Veg Kurkure. After reading other reviews, I realise that this is somethng which is "hard pushed" there. Really pathetic..it was yuk..It was ade of cheese and served in a shot glass with some ketchup, which just tasted garlic. I felt as if it was refried.

For the main course we ordered paneer pasanda. It ws prepared in cashew gravy. However; one of the ingredients was stale, and it never tasted good.

Dal makhani was a stand out. Well made, tasted well.

Ended with the "liquid" pan. Which was a flavoured milk shake kind of tuff. Copied from Punjab Grill, which actually uses betal leaves.

Overall, a bad experience Not worth the money. I felt that the menu was on the lines of Punjab Grill. However; Mehman Nawazi miserably fails to keep upto the taste. There was a nice breeze, however; very loud noise too; which someone may not like at a fine dining restaurant. Wonder what will happen in summers without ACs

Run of the mill food, terrible ambience.

Warning... no air conditioned area in this restaurant. Ended up here with a group of vegetarian people as this is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant for vegetarians. What I ended up at was; in an open air restaurant with seating under canopies which made the hot summer night hotter.. the only relief was a poor chinese made air cooler which did its best to cool incredibly angry customers. All this while a giant screen was showing a live match and music blaring in the lounge next door was clearly and disturbingly audible. So much for fine dine.

The food recommended included a veg kurkure which was a deep fried potato and cheese roll smeared with tomato ketchup...yuck.

The only interesting thing on the menu seemed to be a avacado and mango based salad...and sure enough no avacado available.

The paneer zaffrani tikka tasted nice but am sure had no hint of saffron anywhere. the salad ordered was a shame. While the veg kabab was pasty at best.

The main course had paneer lababdar and veg hyderabadi... standard affair... nothing to write about.

The waiters were all very nice and courteous; while honestly the maitre d' in the ill fitting suits just did not know what to do... leading to people calling them out loud over the cacophony all around just to order. The one star on the review remains for the nice waiters.

No value for money

Ambience is superb.. But food is not so good. It is very expensive but food quality is not upto the mark. Soups were pathetic.

DECENT !!

After all the hype about breeze & mehmaan nawazi i finally visited it.
The food is decent.
we tried the 5 spice naan which is a good variety in breads.
The paneer was soft.
Overall taste was good but nothing extra ordinary.
There is a huge screen put up.
so maybe hitting this place on a sat night for a epl match will be a good idea as well.
The prices are not very exhorbitant.
All in all a good place to visit.

That's not how you treat your guests

It's rather unfortunate that this place occupies such a great location. There are two areas this place is divided into - mehman nawazi and breeze. Till about 10pm, they pretend they are two different places. Mehman nawazi is about a lazy evening out and breeze a lounge with thumping music. Post 10pm, the music is so loud, that unless you are deaf, the beats come dancing into your ears. The food is utterly rubbish, tastes stale and lacks any sort of flavour. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with any love of ambience or food.

Not worth it

Food was pathetic. The soup had some weird taste and left it after trying it. Starters were ok but the main course was awful. Add to that, the service was pathetic.

Awesome Food!!!

Had been to this restaurant in the opening week. Was a wonderful experience. The Ambiance is wonderful, the food is too good and service also nice!!! Let me warn u that they have only veg menu.. Sorry non-veg lovers!!! We had ordered a paneer starter and it was out of the world. the main course was also tasty. And in the end the complimentary pan shots from the chef was the icing on the cake. The restaurant is little expensive though.. but worth the experience.
