A repeater for sure!

The very first thing that I noticed was the look of the whole place, which was out of the world. For starters we ordered some sandwiches and rolls which were tasty. I'm very impressed and look forward to visiting this place again. There's a reason why I have visited this place close to 5 times in the past 2 months.

Mocha

It was quite late at night and we were hungry. Luckily we found The Mocha opened at Churchgate and hopped in. It sure is a cool place to hang out with friends. We wanted to order something that came quite quick as we were hungry and also getting late. So we ordered for The Roast Chicken Panini and a Hummus bowl salad. The The
Roast Chicken Panini was really good and also the Hummus salad is definitely worth a try. The only thing is that even this took ages to come. The service was pretty slow. I cant say if its always like that or was it because we went late night.

Disaster!

Mocha is a place I would visit often because of their amazing shakes and desserts. I went there around lunch time and started with the mocha shake. I clearly instructed the waiter to make the shake with an extra shot of coffee and no whipped cream on top. When my drink arrived there was a mountain of cream on top and all I could taste was milk, it's as if they forgot to put coffee in my cold coffee! I asked the waiter to fix my order, and he came back with my so called mocha shake and this time it was warm! I gave up and just wanted my food and wanted to leave.

The arab platter was a dish that was a total disaster. The shawarma had no hummus or garlic sauce instead it had a 2 cm layer of mayonnaise! Yuck. There was hardly any chicken in the shawarma and all I could taste was mayonnaise!

Lastly my cheese fries came and the dish was cold! I returned it and paid the bill and left. I knew if I asked the waiter to replace it, it would come in a worse state! On top of everything the staff tried to argue about everything, from the coffee to the fries (apparently cheese fries are served cold and when the cheese is hard)

overhyped

well its your standard Lounge. Dim lighting , distinguished interiors , chaser type food. One thing though is that the waiters tend to be a bit rude and weirdly i saw them commenting about the people in the restaurant , which i found offensive.

Bad service , Annoying waiters

We had visited Mocha today and i couldn't wait to write this review!
Let me start with what happened ..
We ordered waffles , berry slush , fries , mexican panini .
The waiter/manager informed us that it would take 30 minutes for the waffles. We were absolutely okay with it as we had tasted their waffles during our last visit and it was great. There were few women who sat right behind us . They argued with the waiters for some service related issues.

Here comes our story ,

A foreigner couple sat right in front of us (this was 20 minutes after our arrival)
We waited for 20 minutes and there was no sign of juice or fries . We still waited and didn't utter a word. In 5 minutes , the foreigner couple were served the juice / coffee and in 10 minutes they were served their food. We still waited and it has been 45 minutes.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?
We informed the waiter thrice and he just smiled . I told him to stop smiling and get the food .How much time does it take to get a glass of juice and fries?
Oh also in between a couple sat beside us and they received their drinks in 10 minutes. No , seriously?
Well.. he finally served the juice first after 45 minutes of waiting and panini after 50 minutes.
Well..you're supposed to serve fries & drinks first right?
Then after 1 hr , the waiter comes up with our fries. He had the audacity to argue with us inspite of this being his/chef's fault and this is what he said
"Mam..it took time as it was DEEP FRIED!" . No, wait? Do you think i am an illiterate person who doesn't know how fries are made?
We told him to take it back and paid the bill (for panini and the berry drink ) as i wanted to get the hell out of this place due to the disgustingly slow (partial) service

Being a blogger myself , i would definitely NOT recommend this place to my readers / friends.
Such a shame!
Oh also , Mocha staff , please stop arguing with the customers when it's your fault !

Oh my deserts!!

Chocolate avalanche was the first dessert i tried at mocha. It was really an avalanche of chocolate. I have never really gone there for its coffee. Its the deserts I prefer. And they hardly disappoint. The atmosphere is good. A separate smoking zone is really appreciated. The service is good. Its the place me and my cousins prefer when we want to spend quality time with each other.

Impressed with this place!!!

This place is famous for hookah, some of my friends who are hookah lovers took me to this place. The very first thing that I noticed was the look of the whole place, which was out of the world. For starters we ordered some sandwiches and rolls which were tasty. Some restaurants give good food but their service is pathetic, but I have never visited a place so perfect. Their service was good, food was delicious and the ambience was too good. I'm very impressed and look forward to visiting this place again.

Paradise for coffee lovers!!!

I’m an avid coffee lover and love to discover places that offer my kind of coffee. Churchgate’s Mocha is one place which fits my budget and gives an excellent coffee every time I visit them (Just the way I want). Me and my friends love the ambience as it gives a very lazy feeling and then you just sit and chat till we realize that it’s too late! :P I visit this place so often that the waiters out there also know which coffee I want.

Sit back and indulge in the luxury here

When talking about Mocha, the first thing that comes to my mind is the soothing ambiance it has. The food is another thing why you would want to come back to this place again and again. I went there last weekend and had a great time with my friend's company there. We had the Italian Omelette, Chiken Aioli and ofcourse the classic Panini. All the dishes were very well prepared and flavoured. This is what Mocha is all about, great ambiance, good food and not to forget wine...I love to visit this place whenever i get a chance.

Ambiance is the talk of the town here

Mocha is a place famous for its ambiance. I love to come to this place, it feels good to come to a place where you can be chilled out and be just yourself. The food is awesome and let your tastebuds try the different European flavours from sandwiches to paninis, all are worth trying. You will definately come back to experiance the fun in the soothing environment of this place.

Has been

Went there with friends after a long time. Ordered a bunch of things. The green apple and melon drink was very good and the reason for the star. One of the burgers was good but the rest was all rubbish. Service was non existent. I think that they should just convert the whole thing into a hookah parlour since that's all they seem to be doing right.

Great place for youngsters...

Mocha is famous for its varieties of coffees and it indeed does justice to it. The Irish coffee being the best, I also liked the choices they have given in desserts, try 'Vertigo', its fabulous. Another reason for Mocha to be famous is the fruit flavoured hookahs, one will definitely regret going to Mocha and not having a hookah. All in all, a nice pleasant experience which you may remember after visiting this place.

Cool place to check out

You cannot come here and not have hookah. The range of flavours that they provide is fab. You should try the grapemint, which according to me is the best one. I normally opt for desserts as they are pretty good. The Panini is a must have as it’s simply yum! Although the food here is somewhat expensive, but then again we don’t come in such places again and again right? So guess it is worth for once in a blue moon!!

The perfect place for late night hangouts

Mocha provides a luxurious experience from its awesome ambience and quick quality service. Famous for its hookah parlour, it surely has a serene atmosphere even after being so overly crowded because of being situated near to the churchgate station and can be easily spotted from far.

The music played is as soothing as the ambience and one can just come and enjoy a quite time with their loved ones here. That doesn’t mean this place is not for people who want to have fun. There is a big screen for all those cricket lovers and the fun during the world cup matches could not have been better as I was one of them who enjoyed the thrilling India - Australia match here. It is indeed a nice place and I actually experienced more than what I had expected.. Definitely recommended to all!

Hookah lovers will enjoy here...!!

This place has got me addicted to hookah…ohh I just loved the ambience..I went to mocha with four of my friends and we enjoyed every moment we spent there...we spent almost 2 - 3 hours and no one even complained..The waiters were quite quick to attend our table and suggested us some really good food...Panini is something that you cannot miss if you have come here...You should also try the very famous Irish Coffee...It’s awesome..I think mocha should be one of the most acclaimed places to be visited if one is addicted to hookah and wants to have some great food altogether..

Shabby ambience... but nice service!

I was here last Saturday along with couple of friends for a drink & some hookah. There was a match between England & SL that day.

Location: easy to spot beside Shiv Sagar… near churchgate railway station!

Ambience: when we entered the place, there are 4 parts of this joint to be precise… One on the outside where F&B activities was carried out & a large screen was placed der 4 ppl to njy d match! This sight gave us a good presumption that things inside would be better where they serve hookah! But how wrong we were!! The second section is a bit of lounge type where hookah’s were served along with food, which was quite OK types! The third one was the royal place type on a slight platform above the ground… may be ½ a floor up! This was the special lounge where things were slightly expensive… we were disappointed since there was no space available for 4 of us there! The most horrible place was the smoking room (d 4th part of this place)…. U can say it as “bahar se sundar…. Sada hua andar”. Broken chairs… sofa’s with cigg holes & tables which must have been a century old… broken & somehow together!!! And to top it all, this was the only place available (no wonder why)! Crowd were mostly college goers or couples!

Our order: well, as I said earlier, we went there for a drink & hookah… we ordered a hookah along with few beers… one of the worst hookah I have ever had at a hookah joint… the flavor was so low… that we had to ask them twice to make it stronger! Beers weren’t chilled enough… it was on the room temp kinda types! Since we were meeting after a long time, we just went on with it! Hookahs in other mocha joints are much much better than the one I had here!! Wt a disgrace… they have taken ppl for granted… to make profits instead of providing a customer with good service to make them come back again at ur plce! No wonder, now I have written it off my list of hookah joints!

Price: the overall bill ran upto arnd Rs. 1500… with the hookah being charged at 495+taxes!! This is on the costlier side considering the kind of hookah we had! So, I felt being cheated on hookah!

Service: Well, with the kind of rush they had… the waiters were quite attentive & regular in replacing the coal as & when asked without taking a long time! We also made a special request of getting a cigar for us & though they didn’t have it with them at Mocha’s.. the waiter tried getting it for us from a nearby place! So overall, the level of service was pretty good!

Recommendable: You can go here, but don’t enter the smoking room on the ground floor or else it can just spoil ur mood! Otherwise, I have been here before too (but not for hookah) & enjoyed having a drink or two here in the open space outside! So overall, yes you can visit this place & I hope the management does something for the shabby smoking room!!

Brilliant place gone down

Such an awesome place this used to be; great ambience, good choices of drinks, the Hukka's...ohhh, mind boggling and no hurry for the people to leave....Sadly, the quality of staff here has gone down drastically, the staff almost feels like they are doing us a favour by serving us! The food tastes the same, run-off-the-mill stuff; a MUST avoid are the cookies and the brownies.

The only thing that gets me back to this place is the ambience; which is pretty good

pretty good for a night out with friends

The ambience was definitely interesting and uniquely designed.. I liked it quite a bit!

The coffee's and shakes my friends and i had there were all great, as were the hukkas! Service was ok too i must say, though we did have to repeat our orders to a confused waiter more than a few times!

The only downside were the cookies that we ordered.. They tasted a rather undercooked and were hard to keep down.. so that was a bummer..

Otherwise, it was nice place to hang out at after a hearty meal with a group of friends!

sloppy!

This branch of Mocha is popular owing to its location. And maybe the panini and hookah. Everything else is mediocre.
The coffee is so-so. The coolers are so sugary you would want to throw up! The service is sloppy and confused... I called for a California Cooler and got some rubbish sugar-loaded berry drink instead X-(
So if you're thinking about taking your date to Mocha, think again. There are much better places around town.

RUBBISHHHHHH

there are very few places where you are so disapointed that you truely question why the hell are you wasting so much money. ok i must tell you that ive been there only once and had just two things....one roasted chicken sandwich and one coffee. the CIABATTA bread sandwich was absolutely horrible. the bread tasted like those monginis pizza bases. the roast chicken filling ttly tasteless...and whatever they cald herb chutney...well i could throw a few green chillies and corriander and mint salt and come up with something much beter. the coffee also nothing special and i dont know about the sugar...i added 4 sachets and still dint go sweet. worst of all they were showing wresting on a giant screen.

Desserts - Innovative and Big

This place is stacked in the all so popular row leading to Churchgate station. They have a seating outside for the ones who love fresh air and also have an enclosed section for the Hookah lovers.

I preferred the fresh air section. They had some offer running on beer. Order 3 pints get the fourth free. Nothing great in the offer, but wasn't bad. In the end the VAT (25%) gives you the real blow.

The food was OK. Nothing to really write about. We ordered a assorted Tapas, which included four different starters. The sausage tasted very close to one of those ready to cook ones (but i'm almost sure it wasn't one of that). The meat balls they had servred were really bad. The batter was too thick making the entire chunk hard to chew. The chicken was coked well and worth appreciation.

The best pasrt of Mocha as always was the Dessert. We ordered the Avalanche. Every dessert you can relate with Chocolate is dumped in a huge mug and served to you. But eating it is truly pleasurable. The portion is also huge. We ordered an "Avalanche Junior" and it turned out to be a little too much for 2 people. But when it comes to Chocolate - Never waste.

Surely a must visit for the desserts. They are supposed to have good coffees too. If you are in a larger group, try the Vertigo (Chocolate cake). Ideally would require 4-5 people to finish it. Challenge yourself

Nice place to chill

Churchgate Mocha is a great place to chill, am in love with it. The best thing i like about Mocha is its Coffee and Food. I love the Columbian Supremo, its sinful. The BMT Panini is also engaging. Everything about this place is awesome, right from the ambience to the food to the customer service.

dis z my place !

The first thing that hits you when you enter Mocha is the strong essence of coffee. One can find the best of coffees imported from all-over the world at Mocha and my favorite is the signature coffee of Mocha - The Choco-Latte, it's a killer combination of espresso, whipped cream and European chocolate. I have a sweet tooth so can't live without deserts which Mocha is also known for. Chocolate Avalanche Sr. is what my jaw drops down to and why shouldn't it - the desert is a mix of chocolate mousse, brownie, fudge and truffles. Mocha is famous for its college kid clientele but it's just another cool hangout for working professionals like me in Churchgate.

Chill Out..Dont Expect Anything Else..

My (and my friends') biggest love factor with this place has always been the fact that it exemplifies the term "chill out"-the whole atmosphere is that of people simply chilling out (or "too dim and smoky" depending on your taste!) basically u go in, see a whole lotta youngsters sitting around a (supposedly cool) hookah and maybe 1-2 cups of coffee and simply yakking away..u can join the haze with your own gang or you can decide to sit inside (there are 2 levels of sitting-again either too cool an ambience or too dark-depending on ur taste!)

u can try out any of the coffees-i like the hot ones more than the coolers, ofcourse anyone can tell u that mocha is famous for its chocolate based stuff-so u can always order a chocolate avalanche and dip yourself in its chocolately taste and maybe swear to never half chocolate again (and break the vow as soon as u come out of dere!)

u mite also wanna give any of de edible stuff a try-even though i would personally never pay anyone more than 20 bucks for a plate of maggi (here they charge u much much more dan dat!)-u can try it out for sure..

u can definitely try out one of its many awesome different shakes-toblerone, kit kat, ferrero rocher, apple pie shake (thats my fav one!) and please do not think about dieting here!

waiters typically take more than 10 minutes to appear at ur table with the menu, another 15 minutes before dey wanna take ur order, another half an hour before dey serve it...basically the best part about being here is dat u can chill out for a minimum of 2 hours widout anyone disturbing u or threatening to throw u out! All in all, a very good relaxing place for u nd ur friends, a bit expensive (so always good to go in a group of 5-6 people and take 2-3 different stuff and split de bill so dat it comes to around 150-200 per person!) nd just remember, not everything on dat expensive menu is awesome, but yes, nothing beats de ambience nd de relaxing feeling of being able to even sleep dere for an hour or two widout anyone bothering u :D

Mixed bag

Had gone with two other friends on a _weekday_ evening, it wasn't particularly crowded (the outer section was almost completely empty)... settled down, ordered iced tea (strictly ok), currant cooler (very nice, strongly recommended!), a panini or something (meh... they claim its a baguette, but its really just a toasted hotdog bun)...

The most anticipated part of the order was naturally the dessert, and we chose the Chocolate Avalanche Sr., but they broke our hearts by saying it wasn't available (they didn't have brownies that day!)! We had to settle for "That Chocolate Thing", recommended by the server... sadly it was a complete disaster! :-( the menu says its a sinful flourless chocolate cake, but in fact it was the furthest possible thing from that delicious description x-(

Service: very slow, not enough people to handle the upper floor -- just one guy who would pop in every 15min or so. And they add a 10% service tax to your bill whether you like it or not! Ordinarily i wouldn't grumble about this, but the lack of brownies and the terrible dessert hit us pretty hard!

used to be alot better!

mocha, this is the only mocha joint which serves only hookah/sheesha in that one small room of a place they call the smoking room! they serve no food or drinks!
before when they used to serve sheesha outside it was a lot better, they got a lot more people, a much bigger place, not at all closterphobic anbd much more fun!
i seriously they think they should take a look at the juhu and lokhandwala.

Upper Level Seating is Great

This branch of Mocha has multiple seating spots, one thats the outdoor and then the indoor has a two level seating.
I love the floor seating concept on the upper level. Although many a times i have found the upper level closed. Adore this place for the wide variety of shakes and food. Had the omlettte and a glass of wine and was perfect on all counts. Service could deter a bit. Must have the kit kat shake.

Best quality sheesha.

Many of you might be thinking that a place like mocha truly deserves a 5 star? Well yes may be for me atleast,as far as i'm concerned i'm a fan of mocha.Especially Churchgate and Bandra.as bandra one is under renovation let's talk about churchgate mocha. The ambience is a classic british brick ambience and the recently made smoking lounge is a cool place to be but one thing that if you don't smoke please don't enter as you might get affected by smoke.Mocha serves the best quality sheesha that no other serves. The + point of mocha is the staff that ensures that sheesha taste's good. They change the coal by themselves that's another + point.Variety of things to choose over the menu.100% lounge music. And all those shakes can make you fat enough and increase your calories because they are heavan made shakes. And the wine is brilliant and the wine menu is really innovative,i would suggest you ivy from the pink wine.I would suggest everyone to go atleast once. And then you will start going on your own.And KIDS BELOW 18 STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED!!...keep your i.d cards ready/

Mini Meals

I discovered two more dishes at Mocha, which make the visit all the more worthwhile. Next time you're there do have the Maggi Arabiatta (Rs 95) or the Scrambled egg on toast (Rs 65). Complete mini-meals in under a hundred bucks each. Both yummy!

The usual

This place is everything you expect from Mocha. I personally prefer the Bandra Mocha but that should not take away anything from this branch.

My only gripe is the crowd. Since there are quite a few colleges nearby, you'll usually see a whole bunch of annoying, acne ridden teens bunking class and occupying space without any signs of leaving. These wannabe, cell phone wielding crowd usually hangs out in the outer open area. Inside though, its a little better.

As you can see, apart from the crowd I have no complaints.

Just make sure you have time on your hands since you'll most probably have to wait a while before you can make yourselves comfortable.
