Best eclectic food
If one is looking for a restaurant which serves eclectic food - a mix of Middle-eastern, Italian, Lebanese, Malay flavours which are reasonably authentic and served in a good ambience, this place is worth checking out. . My personal favourite : black lentil salad, and baked cheesecakThe fondue is heaven--the jalapeno is delicious. The old world ambience is very relaxing.
Good place but pricey
went here for a brief dinner and tried the fondue and some cocktails..
the food was good and the cocktail also. the service was absolutely amazing. I mean you just smile and they are at your service for every little thing.
the only problem is that the place is too cramped and you can hear everyone talking.
its a little too noisy..like i dont care what natasha wore for sams engagement..when i dont even no natasha nor sam..
the ambience is good too.. dim light with instrumental arabic kinda music
the price my favourite bit comes here.. this place might be small and service is good but the taxes that they levy are more than just good.
Our bill for two came to around 4000 and we were very surprised.. too much for a small place
Fun mix food with great desert..!!
Recommended dishes - fondue, sandwich, risotto and dessert. And my Fav order..
1. Tomota and Gorgonzola Cheese Fondue (Ask for additional jalapenos)
2. Mixed sauce Pasta (Served in a nice pinkish sauce)
3. Bagel with Philadelphia Cheese
4. Balinese Curry with steamed rice
5. Molten Chocolate Mud Pie (It takes 15 mins to prepare, but its the best way to end your meal) What makes Moshe's stand out from the many choices Bombay has to offer by way of restaurants is the feeling of déjà vu when you enter this particular one. The price point is competitive, the food is healthy and wholesome and it has long been a go-to for a lot people. A great choice for a quick, light meal or even just a really filling dessert.
A friend took a group of us here since she recently got engaged so this was like a pre-party party for us! Had some salads..pastries..risotto and it was tasty but portions could be better..especially considering the price..but again this is a premium place, not a place one frequents everyday,so maybe it is okay for a special occasion. Staff is very polite and in fact I could not choose a dish for myself and our sever suggested this risotto which I loved to death.
I love Moshe's, simply because the food is amazing and yummm.. This Moshe's is definitely better than the one at Juhu because of the food options...
This is a much better place to go for dinner and have a lovely meal. However, the portion is really small.
The chargrilled chicken is amazing and the Philadelphia cheese cake is yummy!

Dear Guest ,
We are delighted to know that you enjoyed the food at Moshe’s.Your feedback on the food and service is appreciated by all of us.
We look forward to seeing you again at Moshe’s.
Small portions,Less Options
Moshe's was something i had been waiting to try since months, but after going there i thought it was a rather average experience .
The first thing i feel that needs improvement i think is the entrance and stairway leading up to the restaurant.
The entrance has such a small board put up and its in such a place that one is bound to miss it . The stairway is narrow and very dimly lit .
The place is small to medium sized but the tables are well placed .
The issues i felt were-
1- that the variety available is very less . A restaurant with such good reputation preceding it, should certainly have more options to choose from .
2- portions are less
Keeping these three things in mind i would hardly ever want to suggest it to a real foodie who loves to try many dishes with good portions and which are not expensive.
I hope they come up with some solutions for these issues or perhaps come up with a set menu or something where people can try dishes for a fixed price.
Also the desserts are not that great as many people say they are.

Extremely sorry for a late reply.
You are very important guest and you feedback is very important for us.
Being the old building we truly unable to enhance the infrastructure, but we surely brighten up the light near the entrance.
Pricing is a subjective point on which we cant reply. We use high quality imported ingredients and supplies which restrict us on our menu pricing.
Unfortunately, you didn't get the appropriate value that we always attempt to provide to every guest. Regarding the variety o
Their shawrmas are good, filling and decently priced. However there's not much to choose from. Ambiance, well the bandra outlet is pretty small and sad. plus i dont really like the shawrama grill placed inside an ac seating, the heat kinda does radiate no matter how much cooling is there.

This place is tucked away on busy hill road but the ambience is great . We stopped for a quick snack , had a baked Philadelphia cheesecake and a Celsius cocktail. The cheese cake was delish, but the drink was not what we expected ,wish we had ordered something else. Will definitely go again to try out the main courses etc...

Excellent service & good food but expensive
Nice place but quite hidden its above Nature's basket on Hill road. One thing that I loved about the place was the service.Staff here is really well trained and mannered.Something that is not so common in many restaurants these days.I ordered a Chicken panini sandwich. It was quite nice and came with a side salad and fries.Although the chicken quantity could have been more but it was still good and had a nice mustard sauce with it.I also had the Cappuccino here it was pretty nice.I loved the Baked Philadelphia Cheese Cake. While the food here is pretty good the prices are quite high and seemingly overpriced.Just the panini sandwich ,cappuccino and cheese cake set me back by a little less than 700 rs.But the food was quite good and so was the service .So great work guys keep it up.

Nice ambience - not too big but seating is spaced out.
Ordered the mango lemongrass mocktail - Excellent
Main course was some egyptian rice thing with paneer skewers- superb.
Service was warm and friendly.
I loved the food and am surely coming here many more times
Price wise it is a bit steep - one mocktail and one main course came to rs 710.

It is tough to spot this place at the first go but once you are inside..it is a totally different world. The interior is reasonably well done. We were 4 people and had a chance to sit on the sofa. We ordered the following:-
Hummus with Spiced Chicken--Hummus was good in taste but could have had more garlic. Chicken did not go well with it. I felt it wud have been better without it.
Garlic bread with melted Mozorella- It was very good and crispy.
Beaten Fillet Steak-- It was simply stunning. Had a delightful mix of the spices and had a very nice taste to it.
Chargrilled Beef Fillet Steak--It was regular beef steak but the taste was very authentic
Egyptian Salad--The Egyptian salad was a pleasant delight. Very fresh and light on the palate with a delightful medley of very Mediterranean flavors.
Chargrilled chicken in Red wine Sauce-- It was quite regular in taste, there was nothing special.Considering the price it was not worth it.
All in all I feel that it is a must try and if you like Beef then you just can't miss it.

Awesome awesome food
Easter Sunday and I decided to bring my parents here. One air conditioner was not working but the staff were extremely accommadating and immediately moved us to a better table.
We ordered cheese fondue with jalapenos for starters and it was irresistible even for my health concious parents. For main course we ordered the chargrilled rawas basket, the chargrilled chicken in apricot sauce and the chargrilled tilapia. Every dish was cooked to perfection with delicious flavours. What's more, unlike other continental restaurants, the meals here were filling and left u feeling well satiated. For dessert we decided to order something light and so we ordered the dark chocolate ice cream with red wine chocolate sauce. That proved to be the perfect end to a perfect meal.
Also, the drinks we ordered we're well made and didn't come with half the glass filled with ice like in other restaurants.
Overall a great experience will def go back again. It might seem slightly expensive but if you want to treat yourself to some really good food this is the place to go.
Would love to see their main course section expand to include some more wonderful meals.

Great food consistantly
Been here a couple of times now ... and is always a safe bet. Table was easily available on a Friday night, food was great and so was the ambiance. They don't serve alcohol, so maybe that's where they loose out on, but works for occasions when you don't care about the alcohol.

Been to Moshes during the Christmas Season - so it was decorated well. The entrance to this restaurant was bit shaky...Once inside we were a group of 9 people. One of my cousins sweared by the Chargrilled Rawas - which she wiped out in no time. We ordered Sweet Lime Sodas which were toooo bland. Ordered Beef Tenderloin Chargrilled, Chicken Chargrilled. Food was good - hot & tasty. Service was not good.
Quantity was good. Quality of the bread served was very soft...
Desert was choc mousse, Blueberry Cheese cake which was good
MUst trys is the Chocolate Cake which is on the pastry counter & the Baklava.

better options availabe
Crossing by caught the sight of the place, so just stepped in... the entrance was interesting. Stepping in like the ambience but totally packed. just after a wait for couple of mins had a table. Didn't like the music at all rather i dont know why were they even playing it. what i liked was good variety even in vegetarian category and yup food was great though a bit expansive but still can go for it.But for drinks only wine and mock tail and for those like me who still wander which wine to pick its a night mare coz u need to take ur chance, i did i was disappointed. i would have loved if they could serve me with nice JD whiskey instead of the horrible wine with my fresh salads and starters.
Great Food, Highly expensive, noisy
My male friend and me entered Moshe's on Sat at 11.15.pm. There was a group of 3 already waiting for a table and immediately upon our entry, the Supervisor/Manager comes and tells us "Min half an hour". We did not mind. No sooner he said that 2 tables were free and we were seated within 5 minutes. Shows the Manager was not in control. The ambiance is good, air-conditioning is fine, the service is quick minus the poor crockery/cutlery service. We had 1 drink each (only wines and mock-tails served here), 3 starters(1 veg & 2 non veg), 2 main course and no desserts. We were put back by Rs 3000.00. We did not tip as I found a "service charge of 8%!!!!" come on guys......get decent here. I found the place very noisy more like our fish markets! Why cant we Indians behave and maintain decorum at fine dining outlets. I have been to the US, Brazil and most south-east asian countries where there is the perfect set-up, mood and ambience!!.
Nice ambiance, great food
The entry leaves something to be desired, but once inside the restaurant, decor and ambiance is warm and inviting. The service was prompt and wait staff attentive. Booking a table is recommended as it fills up quickly.
Recommend pear and goat cheese Crostini, and Balinese curry(veg and the prawn both are nice). Had heard a lot about their desserts - and the gooey chocolate cake didn't disappoint.
Prices are a tad higher than other similar restaurants in Bandra - but still highly recommended.
Only for firangs
Went to Moshe's on a wednesday as it wont be too crowded.
We asked for a table for two and were seated immediately. Then we asked the waiter if we could have a booth as they were empty. We were told it is reserved for a group of 4 or more. We ordered 2 drinks, appetizer, 2 main course dishes - lamb and tilapia, and a dessert.
Then while we were waiting for our food, a firang couple walks in and are seated in the booth while even when there were other tables empty. I called the waiter and asked him, "arent those tables reserved for a table for 4 or more?", he says "yes. 4 or more". Then i pointed him to the firang couple and he was dumbfounded. He just stared back. He had nothing to say.
So unless you are a firang, you wont be getting a booth there.
This place is superbly overrated and has nothing but snob value. The food and dessert is strictly ok and drinks really bad. I disliked my experience here and will never return to a place where I am treated like a second class citizen in my own country. Too many great places out there to ever return to or ever visit Moshe's.
great desserts. overall- over rated!
I visited this place mid week.Moshe is over rated. period.
we tried the penne pastas, mom's chicken soup, tomato basil soup, beef steak etc.
it was crowded, noisy, the tables are placed very tightly.
service is average. Especially for the prices charged they could have given us a better service, ambiance etc. desserts are amazing. worth a try!
meal for two- Rs 1700 ( inclusive of tax)
welcome to moshe's tambi restaurant
A couple of my friends went to this place to celebrate her b'day. Post dinner when it was time to cut the cake, we were in for a rude shock!! the staff tells us that you can cut "outside" cake in their premises???? Moshe's is so desperate to sell their cakes (which I don't think anyone must be buying) that they won't allows outside cakes, you have to buy it from them. I felt as if I was in some tambi restaurant. Coz at places like these only they say "sarry outside food not allowed". The manager refused to listen, my friend had to leave the place without cutting her b'day cake :-(
Better than Cuffe Parade
Moshe's seems to be having difficulty maintaining their standards at the original restaurant at Cuffe Parade; the one at Hill Road is managed better, hands down.
Once I arrived and confirmed my reservation, they directed me to a table right near the entrance, which I found too loud and inappropriate fora quiet dinner. After requesting another table in the restaurant, they shifted me to one at the rear which was more private and served the purpose.
The food was served on time as per our request, and the quality was equally nice. Their main course variety isn't different from the one at Cuffe Parade. Perhaps a slight change in menu would help make things more interesting and provide a different perspective.
I did have to ask the waiter for water 4 times, till he finally came and left a jug on our table. Overall, good place but I just hope they can maintain, or improve, the standard.
When all 5 people on a table are really happy with what they have ordered and finish it off, you know it is a great restaurant.
Everything on the the Mezze platter was great. Moving on, the Chargrilled fish and chicken were cooked to perfection with flavourful light sauces & great crunchy salads.
The service can get crisper and the decor could have been so much more. But, these really do not matter when the core of a restaurant is 'good food'.
For the love of Moshe's
Moshe's opened at a hop-skip-jump distance from where I live in Bandra and was I excited! I would cross it everyday and was waiting for the day it opened. Within the first week of it opening, I went there for a meal which I hoped would be brilliant, because I'd had a rough few days at work.
There were two of us and we started off with a 'Pickled Mushroom & Onion' fondue which was divine! The breads offered with it weren't great as they give very soft bread which becomes very limp with the cheese.
The drinks were very steeply priced and I don't recall spending so much at the Moshe's restaurant at Cuffe Parade.
Followed by the fondue was a (chargrilled?) Beef Tenderloin with some mash which was done to perfection.
Meal for two: Rs 1700
Great expensive food, but Moshe's was never a budget restaurant anyway.
Good.. but could be great!!
after having been to Moshe in town, this one was a given. however i was a teeny bit disappointed. while the ambience is good, the food (lamb stew, creamy polenta which is AWESOME, prawn skewers were ok, roasted potato was BLAH, desserts great) is overall good, you expect something more, like something is missing.
maybe since its a little new here.. but Moshe needs to try and be a little different from the 100 other similar ambinced / food serving counterparts in bandra. otherwise its just going to become one of them in no time.
Good food but kinda overpriced
Good ambience, good food. The main course has relatively limited options for vegetarians. The jalapeno fondue is absolutely recommended. However, the pricing is a bit over the top. Portions could be slightly larger; the VFM factor is slightly ignored. Good experience witha hole in the pocket!
Not So Impressive!
Great food, great service but exorbitantly priced and with a not-so-impressive ambience, Moshes will have to try harder to impress the residents of Bandra!
Ever since Gazebo shut down, the tiny sliver opposite the St Stanislaus grounds has been rather forlorn. But in the last couple of months theres been a sudden transformation and the stretch has seen a spate of new entrants. The newest kid on the block is Moshes, the eponymously named fine-dining Mediterranean restaurant from South Mumbai which opened last week.
Located above Natures Basket, the access to Moshes is through a narrow, poorly lit staircase at the side of the gourmet store. Designed like most of the other outlets, the baked foods, toppings and spread are at the entrance itself.
In comparison to the original Cuffe Parade outlet, the attempt at creating a stylish ambience doesnt quite work. The heavy dark wood ceiling, the sleek polished flooring and the pale beige washed out walls created a stylized rustic atmosphere. However, we felt that the metallic silver cane backing of the chairs sounded a discordant note and didnt quite complement the rest of the décor. A simple, circular wooden chandelier hanging in the centre filled the room with a warm, natural glow, but the room could have done with a tad more brightness. At the far end of the room sits a dessert counter, next to which, shielded by a couple of potted plants, was a plate glass window overlooking the main road.
On browsing through the menu, we realized that most of the items available were similar to the ones at the other branches; there were pancakes, pastas, sandwiches, salads and desserts.
Going with the servers recommendation, we called for the Spiced Harissa Chicken Sandwich (Rs 350) as well as the Moshes Penne Signature Pasta in Paprika Sauce (Rs 350). We found the grilled chicken pieces inside the Focaccia that had been marinated in Harissa sauce (an African hot chilli sauce), were well flavoured and exhibited a very welcome subtle spiciness. Despite being accompanied with fries and salad, we unfortunately didnt feel adequately satiated. The pasta was served with garlic bread and on request, the server agreed to replace the sweet potatoes with mushrooms. Garnished with a couple of broccoli florets and slivers of almonds and swimming in a thick, creamy sauce coloured with flecks of paprika, the penne was cooked soft (just as we like it). What we really appreciated was the generous helping of mushrooms that had been added in.
The service is undoubtedly prompt and courteous. Also, when it comes to the flavour of the food, Moshes scores! However, portion sizes could improve as for the same price there are other places in Bandra which offer a far more filling meal.
(burrp! reviews anonymously and pays for its own meals.)
