Good for Light Eats

This branch of Cafe Moshe's is located inside of a crossword book store on a mezzanine floor. So after buying a couple of new books to gorge on, you can climb up to the cafe and sit with a nice coffee or a hot chocolate. The last time I went I order for their Grilled Chicken with Salsa Verde and a Roasted Baby Potato Salad which had a lovely fresh and tangy lemon dressing as well as a Peach Iced Tea. Cozy place to visit for light eats.

Just what you want in a coffee shop

This is a good little coffee shop located inside the crossword bookstore, at Kemps Corner. The menu is the same as the other Moshe's outlets around Mumbai. The food is good and the service is efficient without being intrusive.
It's quite a small palce so meal times are a bit busy.

Good ol' cafe

This is a quite place near Crossword. We seated upstairs, and ordered Cafe Latte and Mocha with Chocolate mudpie.

Their ambiance is pretty likeable, but their place is a little short in space. With 6-7 people upstairs, they will be full. Their staff is quite attentive and ready to serve.

They have good options for quick bites, especially salads. Their menu is quite extensive. Anyways coming to our order, Both the coffees were pretty good. Served with biscuits, I especially like the mugs in which they were served.

Coming to the mudpie, din't actually like the way it was served, and also the taste was pretty ordinary. Nothing great.

Mocha is something you should try. Good place to chill out before having dinner.

Always a favorite

Nothing pleases than a good book coupled with a warm cup of coffee. And of course, some yum filled sandwiches and drooling desserts to make the book reading or meeting friends experience to make it more memorable.

Coming to this place for years -pulled equally by the collection of books downstairs and a cozy cafe upstairs. Always a place to come back to and relax with a book, for hours on go.

Cozy booklover's paradise

Built on the mezzanine floor of the crosswords book shop, this place is great because it serves great coffees and snacks. The best thing about it, is that it allows you to bring books from crosswords and read them whilst you sip your coffee (you want to avoid that if you are clumsy) It is quieter in the afternoons and early evenings but by around 5:30ish it gets very crowded and noisy. Getting a table at this time is almost impossible and reading is out of the question.
Great things to try here are the mocha(love the cute cookies that come with it) and the mushroom open sandwich. It is a little expensive for a cafe but a great way to spend time by yourself!

Say Cheese!

This is the second review I'm writing for this place, and I can't help but say I love this little eatery. Whenever I'm in Kemps Corner, I always stop by! The service is totally perfect - the waiters are attentive and well-mannered. The ambience - that's what I go for!

Now for my second staple from Moshe's! The oven-baked pasta :-)

It's creamy, cheesy and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I added chicken to my pasta - they're pretty generous with add-ons, I must say. I chose the garlicky white sauce and it was yummy! The side platter of garlic bread sticks are chewy, toasty and bursting with flavour. Meal well-cherished.

You have to try some, the portion is well-satisfying for one person.

Damage - Rs. 276

The word is Harissa, mate.

I finally went to this place by pure chance (as I came to Crossword for book-browsing) and also, after hearing a lot about it - decided to stop by. Me and my friend were super-hungry and we keep flitting between items as to figure out what to have.. Finally, we ordered the Grilled Jalapeno Chicken with sun-dried tomatoes and harissa sauce in an onion focaccia (that's an Italian bread flavoured with herbs and onions) & my friend had some average sandwich that I don't even remember! My sandwich, needless to say, was the best sandwich I've had so far! The harissa sauce was totally divine and so sumptuous. It reminded me of a sauce that they use in shawarmas back in the M.E and I love the sauce...it was spicy, tangy, garlicky and very, very mouth-watering.. For dessert, we had the Apple Crumble Pie and I, the Sugar Gooey Chocolate (Tasted weird and not at all chocolatey). My friend was happy with her pie so I guess it was okay. Anyway, I'll never be able to forget the sandwich for a long time to come. :)

Have a quick, yet delicious bite here

Dropped into this place last Saturday afternoon with a few friends. The thing that i liked most about this place was the cozy feel to it, quite possibly because it is tucked away in one small quaint little upstairs corner inside a huge book-store.

The staff was very friendly, we kept nagging them every 5 minutes to give us our table during our wait time but they just smiled and told us to be patient.

the food was very nice and well exceeded my expectations. I tried the honey plum chilli chicken sandwich which was really good but i think it was only on the daily special and not the regular menu. The blueberry cheesecake, the waffles, and a few other desserts that were ordered by us all looked and tasted fresh. I think we each chipped in about Rs. 400 for a sandwich and a dessert.

In a nutshell, this place is a good weekend afternoon/evening hangout spot where you can also get Value-for-money food.

good lill nook

cafe moshe wasnt too bad to begin with but once the menu changed it got better.

though i dont think the hummus is all that great they hve some fantastic crostini options as well as a nice bake.

the dessert selection is pretty good too but the menu is wildly different from the signature Moshe Shek restaurant.

all in all everytime im at Crossword i stop by !

fave quiet hangout

When I am in the mood to settle down with a great book over a tasty dessert and shot of espresso or cup of coffee, I retreat upstairs in Crosswords in Kemps Corner to this cafe run by the Moshe's people(which people have raved about on burrp). Although you might get a few youngsters sprinkled in throughout the day, this remains a true best for coffee, pastries or light lunch, in the comfort of a great bookstore!
