Love this place!

Good to visit here with friends and relatives for some get together sessions or celebrations. they have these chilli cheese garlic parathas which are super yumm. place has it's own charm and mostly crowded. noisy and full of life. staff is very courteous and friendly, they suggest you good stuff based upon your tastes and preferences. Juices and starters are good to try too..

Lets hog

An apt place to have all the Northern food. I, being from Chandigarh never miss an opportunity to take folks along and visit this place on special occasions.
They have some awesome food. You can't miss there garlic naan, it's to some other level altogether. Also in the chakna, you get bhel, pop corns and kids love it. Go here for food, with some authentic and real taste.

Nice North Indian

A nice place for North Indian food. On the Holi day and they had a separate Holi menu. The Starter - Chicken Kebab Platter, Main Course (Chicken and Dal) and rotis were all nice. The service is very attentive and they even gave a free dessert (Jalebi).

This is the only place I have found where they voluntarily asked which credit card you have and applied the Citibank discount even though it was a holiday. All other places invariably try to avoid this, let alone ask, which card you have.

4.0 for being honest other wise it would be a 3.0.

Celebrated a Family Big Day Dinner, Northern Tadka more than obliged with easy & flexible arrangements. Super food, Not too spicy nor very oily !! Yes Punjabi - NOT OILY !! Great service and attention by wait staff.
Decent happy hours, great value for money - though a bit cramped. Worth regular visits.

Horrible experience

The place is extremely cramped up and noisy.
Also connected to another restaurant jug heads through a toilet passage.
A lot of tables cramped up in a small space. Food also not fun. The elevator is suffocating with an irritating stink. In short, please avoid.

Value for money Restaurent

Their Dal Amritsari is awesome as I and my husband both love dals. Hoping to try their dal makhni next time. I must mention about Ghoonghatwali subji as we tried it because the name aroused my curiosity and it was good with the Khasta naan . About their Roti section, we did try three different types and it was just as it should be ;perfect .Good ambiance and a nice family restaurant for a good meal.

Amazing Food

The place is close to my office. And so i visited this place for lunch. The ambiance here is different from the usual. Food served here is of the Indian Cuisine and tastes heavenly. The pricing I'd say is fairly good for the quality of food they serve.

Worth a visit for Punjabi food lovers

There are very few places in Mumbai where they actually get Punjabi food right, Nothern Tadka is one of them. Like someone below mentioned, it's owned by the same people who own Urban Tadka, so if you've liked the food there, you'll like the food at Nothern Tadka.
The decor resembles a Punjabi village and if you visit for the first time, I'm pretty sure you'll find the menu a little funny. Unfortunately I can't remember what kind of music they were playing there when I visited last week.
My personal favourites are the Dal Makhani and the Alu Chhole Biryani. I tried their special nimbu paani (lemonade), which was tasty, but it had a little chilli powder or something that didn't really make it spicy, but it hit my throat and made me cough a little.
They have happy hours till 11pm.
A tip - on weekends, it can get packed, so I'd recommend going their a little early.

Another north indian joint

This restaurant is as same as Masala Mantar located in Mahada or Pratap's the dabha located in Oshiwara or Urban tadka.
Infact its from the same guys who owns Urban tadka and Masala Mantar.
You will get good panju food here. Been to this restaurant 3-4 times and everything i enjoyed a lot.
Typically panju food... haven't tried their sarso da saag and makai di rotti. I think in mumbai no one can beat masala mantar in that.
Will go again to enjoy the northern delicacy.

Northern Tadka - good place

Northern Tadka is a nice place to have lunch/dinner.The service is good. There are many paneer dishes , so paneer lovers have a great time. The ambience is good too. All the dishes are very tasty. But, there is a bit of noise and on top of that there is music playing in the background , can be a little irritating at times. But, overall it is a great family resteraunt :)

Awesome food, Awesome service...

Food is awesome. Service is very good. They have TV screens always showing some sports channels, Even if the nobody is interested in that sport on TV. Manager is saying they can not play any music channels, as that can distract their staff, That is the most stupid thing, I have heard.

Average Punjabi Food

We have dined in this restaurant few times long time ago. Recently I ordered Sarson ka Saag and Makki ki roti for home delivery. While placing order I had specified I don't want Saag to be spicy, want mild so that my kids can have it. I was informed that it will be mild in taste and will be there in 30 - 40 mins. The order was delivered after 1 hour and Saag was very spicy, so spicy that my kids could not have it. I had ordered tandoori mushroom and baby corn as appetizer which tasted horribly and chatni had spilled all over the package.

I was very disappointed with food this time, i will think twice before placing order there now.

Tadka maarke

A Tadka avatar that we had first visited this some time in October/November last year, found it good and visited it again a while back.

We tried the pudhina lemon juice - tangy, cold nice - just hit the spot. For starters Aloo chaman di tikki - nice, chatpata; chatpattey sheekh - very good with the green pudhina chutney.

For mains we had Shahi Kofta curry which was no great shakes; sabzi Mirch masala - very good, finely chopped vegetables, with a brown gravy, spicy but the taste of vegetables coming thru. This was accompanied by bajra and jowar rotis, also pudhina parantha - hot, crusty enough for a repeat.

A good place for a 4family outing.

Punjabi Tadka

Northern tadka is a place where you can get good punjabi food.Even though NT offers a small variety of food dishes to choose from each tastes different frm other. Its kalimiri chicken,Tandoori chicken and Sarson da saag with makki di roti were the best. They also give complimentary Jalebi with rabri after dinner and they could be the best any one could eat.Golden and Crisp.

Nice staff/Value for money

Went for the b'day party of a friend. We told manager to play Happy B'day song for him.
Manager and whole staff made it special with their cheerful claps and complementary cake.

Sarson saag to die for

Discovered this place earlier this week and have visited it three times already. The only item I've had in all the times I've been here is the Sarson Saag and Makai Roti. The saag season has just started and I'm going to feast even more here. It by far beats all the other Sarson serving places.

If you're looking for a starter recommendation - try the tandoori Shakarkand or the tandoori makai.

The place is huge, it's has actual paintings depicting life in Punjab, hung all over the walls. The service is good, the ambiance inviting.

During my visit today, they had live performers come over and do the Bhangra dance and dhol beats. They celebrated a couple of birthdays happening at the venue.

I've added it to my favorites and highly recommended it.
