Disastrous Takeaway experience

I had heard good reviews about PizzaRoma and I m a regular customer at their Powai outlet. Must say that they have a good product. However, I had a disastrous experience with a large takeaway order. I had few clients visiting at our Andheri office and we ordered of 4 13inch margarita pizzas. It took 1.5 hrs for a delivery which was just across the street (100 mts walk from their andheri outlet). When it arrived finally the pizza was fused into one chunk. Not to mention that it had become real soggy too. So here i m with hungry clients and 4 chunks of soggy matter called PIZZAs. Completely shocked and terrorized with this experience. Good product but DONT GO FOR TAKEWAY....

Apologies again Ravi - I will take the blame to the extent that I hired an outside agency called Grab A Grub to deliver my pizzas so that I could concentrate on providing the best food. However this arrangement is obviously not working and I may have to reconsider having my own delivery guys... Anyway thank you for listening to me and allowing me to offer you a complimentary pizza tomorrow on time and in proper condition!

Very good pizza

I am Chinese once in a business trip in Mumbai. I live in Svenska hotel closed to Pizzaroma. I really like the pizza here and also the price is suitable. Now I am planning to open a pizza restaurant in China. I would like to learn from Pizzaroma and really appreciate if you will contact via email. So I can communicate you with some questions in detail. My email address is: pzfxnjd@126.com. Many thanks in advance!

Not so unhealthy, thin crust pizzas.

Having traveled abroad and being able to choose multigrain or whole wheat pizza base was something I was always looking for in Bombay. Recently a friend recommended this place to me and in her description explaining this to be famous for really good thin crusts, wheat base and good pizzas. Therefore decided to give it a try. Contrary to the reviews below, I did not feel any problems with the attitude of the lady at the counter, infact I was explained the menu properly and was kind enough to ask if I would want the pizza to be modified with any specifications as such. Coming to the food, the pizza was extremely tasty made up on whole wheat thing crust, just the kind of pizza I’ve been searching for. I think with just one try, this place has earned my loyalty already. Do give it a try.

Will Give It Another Chance

The pizza was DRY.

Maybe because we ordered around 7 and asked them to deliver around 9. We were hoping they would take care of it. Have heard so much about them. Will give them another chance.

Pizzalicious!!!

Don't know where to start, but this has been long overdue, so at the beginning sounds like a good place.
Been ordering from them since they were in Lokhandwala and when I saw a different name on the shop....I was almost heart-broken...only to be pleasantly surprised that they have only moved.
Once I ate their pizzas, every other regular pizza place went out the window. Frankly, I can't stand those fakes anymore!
Lip-smacklingly Scrumptious......for lack of better words, is how I'd describe these pizzas. A crust that is thin as ever, smooth and tasty sauce, and a super choice of toppings (both veg and non-veg).
Also, polite service over the phone, and good appreciation (discounts, extras) for regular customers.
Had the opportunity to visit the new location which is bigger and better than the previous one and finally met the the person (you go gurrl!!), behind the magic........which was a pleasant surprise too.
These guys also deliver later than the others which is a blessing for slowpoke pizza-lovers like me who sometimes wake up with a craving a bit later than the rest ;) ----------------- Well, all this writing (read as strenuous activity), has made me hungry now....................can't wait for the next bite.
Keep up the good work guys!!

Serious Attitude Issues

I feel very sad writing this review because I was a big fan of Pizzaroma from the time it opened up in Lokhandwala and had recommended it to so many of my friends. However it’s been at least a year since we stopped ordering from there. My problem was not with the food but the owner and her petty and defensive attitude. 90% of the time the order was incorrect but we overlooked it as they would send a fresh pizza and were apologetic. Once they shifted to Laxmi Industrial estate the orders would sometimes take one hour inspite of the fact that we lived a few blocks away. Again we overlooked it because the owner said she was having staff issues. However when she accused and blamed my 14yr old daughter of giving the wrong order, hence the mess up in the Pizza being delivered, I was very upset (let me reiterate that in 90% of our orders they messed up). My daughter had written down the order and had said it out loud to Pizzaroma over the phone - I heard her. I immediately went to the outlet and returned the pizza. The owner had such a petty attitude and again insisted it was my daughter’s fault. She never once apologized, she was too busy being sarcastic and defensive. What upset me though was the fact that we were such loyal customers and if this is the way she treats her regular customers then what more can I say?. We really didn’t expect this kind of attitude but having read through many of the other reviews I realize we are not the only one’s who feel this way – it is evident in many of her replies.

Been missing this one..

Ordered the margherita today for the 3rd time from the Andheri Laxmi Ind branch, and must say as always, thoroughly enjoyed it. The combination of the base, sauce and cheese worked beautifully.

Have been missing this sort of pizza ever since Pizza Hut took out its Freshizza range which was the closest you could get to Italian-style pizza door delivered.

On-time delivery crucial as the flavour's greatly enhanced when its hot (found this out today). Hope a loyalty programme can also be in place for regular orders.

Thanks for a great lunch. Good luck to the Pizzaroma team

Apologies for the bad experience. We did try to give you a complimentary pizza but your mind is made up. Sorry again.

February 9, 2013response from management at Pizzaroma:

Yes they did offer a complimentary pizza. That was after accusing me of giving the wrong address.Had tried to speak to manager many times. No luck there. There was no answer, ot they would hang up on me. After all the fighting on the phone, I was afraid someone would spit in the pizza.

February 11, 2013response from management at Pizzaroma:

That evening we had a spat of deliveries and the manager had to also step out on delivery so the cooks were taking calls. If you would like to give us another chance I'd like to send your order free of charge at your convenience. And lastly we could make mistakes in service but my staff would never be as spiteful as you suggest.

Delivery late and almost cold pizza

I just ordered a Rustic 10" pizza and cheese garlic bread on 29-1-2013 for lunch and was really looking forward to it as I see the outlet everyday when I leave work and wanted to have a pizza for lunch for a while now.
On the menu it says garlic as a topping for this pizza but there is Rosemary on it so I think ya'll should change that on the menu, two very different tastes. Iam located in Laxmi Industrial Estate in the same complex as the Pizza Roma outlet and still my pizza arrived after 40 min and on top of it, it was crumpled up from one side. All the toppings were concentrated on two slices and the rest had very less toppings probably because of the pizza being crumpled up.
The Pizza and garlic bread was almost cold by the time it reached me, if I had ordered delivery I don't know what would be the state of the pizza. So I think ya'll should improve the delivery method and handling.
The pizza had a decent taste which could have been better if the toppings remained on the pizza itself and the pizza was hot. The cheese and toppings kept separating from the bread and after my first bite all the topping would have separated from the pizza bread leaving only dry bread behind with the topping being separated off like a full slice in the box. It felt as if I had two pizzas one with just toppings and one with dry pizza bread. Even the garlic bread had become really hard.
May be walking in and just having a slice is a better Idea for this place. For the same price I would recommend just getting a Dominos thin crust for delivery at least its hot and not crumpled and taste almost the same.May be try Pizzaroma as a walk in but not really sure what I'll get .

Dear Mr Chaddah,
The chicken in the Rustico is roasted with rosemary herb and garlic is an extra topping/seasoning. It is meant to go together. Am sorry that the delivery wasn't perfect and on time especially as you are located in the same premise. You can call any time and have a make good complimentary pizza which will be delivered in perfect condition. I have already informed the store. Again apologies.

Late delivery and an average pizza

I placed an order for a Pollo Picante at 2 this afternoon, to be delivered to 7 bungalows from the Lokhandwala outlet. I was given the confirmation of delivery timed at 30-35 minutes on placing my order only to be left waiting for an hour more than mentioned. Looking forward to a good afternoon meal turned into an afternoon of hunger. The pizza on arrival had lost all of it's crispness (if it had any on preparation) and it seemed to me like a complete waste of my money. Quite disappointed with my first experience at Pizzaroma.

Not so good pizza

Was expecting real hand tossed, but got a fake pizzahut style pizza ,which was a disaster.not that good as its sounds!

Share:

January 7, 2013response from management at Pizzaroma:

Dear Dbzeater,
I would appreciate it if you could clearly state your displeasure with our pizzas. 'Fake Pizzahut style' is inaccurate as we don't make pizzas the American way. For your information, we make our pizza dough and sauce the Italian way which is fresh every day - something that Pizzahut or Domino's does not do. I suppose you were expecting American fast food style pizzas which is more to your taste and hence the disappointment.

time to take action

first of all the below review is of the bandra outlet.
secondly i feel extremely sorry writing this kinda review for a place which i must've recommended to so many of my friends........no more.

so it was a weekday. was quite excited as a new outlet had opened up in bandra so i wudnt hv to travel all the way to andheri.
first of all was a little difficult to find the place......tucked away in one of the bylanes of bandra......but thats ok. i can travel in search of some nice thin crust pizzas.

so i've always loved their pesto sauce based pizza. my first order was obviously that......coz ive never been disappointed with it in the andheri outlet.
the guy says sorry maam no pesto sauce available.
was pretty disappointed........anyways went ahead an ordered a contandina i think......there was way too much salt.....hardly any cheese.....plus it wasnt cooked properly....wasnt crisp at all. overall a big disappointment.

cudnt finish the pizza coz it was just was tasteless..........oops sorry the only taste was that of salt.....

so next we decide to order a pasta......obviously as u may have guess a pesto-sauce based pasta was not a possibility. so i go ahead and order some pasta.......he's like sorry ma'am we don't have aubergines.....order something else...........sorry ma'am we don't have broccolli....we don't have artichokes...........half of the ingredients were not there. finally i was so fed up that i asked him to tell me wot exactly he has so that i can order accordingly.
finally the pasta which arrived was also quite a disappointment. cudn't finish that either. we left the place hungry & headed to amore's for some dessert instead.

i think its time the management wakes up and takes care of these missing items in the bandra outlet........otherwise it'll shut down soon.......its located in bandra whr thr is far too much of competition for some place like this to survive.

also now i'm not sure whether i wud wanna visit the andheri outlet ever.
it's my sincere request that u guys buck up coz it used to bemy fav pizza outlet.........but that episode has left me completely disappointed.

Dear Spajunkie,
Am sorry for your bad experience but to avoid a difference in taste at our three stores - Andheri, Powai and most recently Bandra - our chef cooks all sauces and toppings for all three stores to ensure uniformity and quality. Bandra being the newest may have run out of key ingredients as we are still gauging stocking as per demand. We don't stock more than a day's food since we have always served fresh so it is possible on the day you visited we ran out of pesto. Rest assured we intend to keep all our stores open offering th

Good Italian Pizza

This is one of my family's favourite home delivery place for Pizza. They make Thin crust pizza and offer Pizza by slice also. My kids love Penne Pasta in Pink Sauce(mixture of Red and White Sauce) with lots of veges. They have recently shifted to new location in same area which is quite bigger in size and have few decent tables if some one wants to have food there. I normally prefer to order for take away or home delivery. They should add some more items in side orders as I don't like bruschetta and garlic bread they offer. They can make Pizza with wheat base as well which tastes good too.

Thanks for your compliments and yes do visit for an even tastier crunch of our thin crust pizzas at the outlet. We have shifted to Laxmi Plaza, Shop No 44 which has adequate indoor seating. We are working on our side orders and should add some new items soon.
Look forward to meeting you.

molto delizioso pepperoni

Hey all, i'm a big pepperoni pizza fan, and also a big fan of pizzaroma's pepperoni pizzas, just wish they sold larger 16-20 inch pizzas.
even Mia Cuchina has good pepperoni pizzas and they dont deliver even to lokhandwala. I only wish your price was a little lower or your sizes larger for the same price. Pizza by the slice is the way pizza should be sold

AWFUL!

I ordered for a pizza and a lasagna-both veg.
i got a non veg lasagna.
Me-being a strict vegetarian was very dissapointed.
pizza was awful as well.
i hate pizzaroma and hope your business ruins.

p.s the excuse given to me by their workers was since the cooking items for veg lasagna was not available-so they sent the non veg.

i wont advise any one to visit or order from this place.

had been wanting to try out this place since months but somehow never ended up at lokhandwala as it seemed too far............read such rave reviews on burrp....plus burrp certified.......so was really lookin forward to tryin out this place.
am soooooo glad i finally did. by far the bestest pizzas i've had in mumbai so far. well if u like ur thick crust pizza hut/dominos then its not the place for u...............but if u r a fan of thin crust pizzas then believe me you.............you MUST TRY this place just once & i'm sure u wont be disappointed.
the best part is that they have pizza by slice. i tried the pizzaroma special (pesto, roasted peppers, garlic &red chilli) was simply delicious!!!
the quattro formaggi with mozzarella, blue cheese, parmesan & scarmoza was also yummmm.
contandina with babycorn, mushroom, capsicum & garlic was also nice.
didnt like the marinara (tomato, garlic, oregano) much..........but then mebbe thats coz i'm not the biggest fan of tomatoes.
request to the owner : please open up another outlet in juhu/ vile parle & bandra............i wud luv comin back but the distance..............aarrggghhhh........the bombay traffic. i can't even ask them to be home delivered coz i'm not in the radius for home delivery :(

pathetic

imagine this - excited friends decide to celebrate with pizzas, book a deal on discount site and paying in advance, travel few miles on a saturday night to a pizza place (pizzaroma), are asked to leave from an empty outlet due to unavailablity of seats, the place is happy to recieve other customers and order you to come at the time convenient for them!!!

the WORST EXPERIENCE OF A DINE OUT IN MY LIFE!!!!

we booked a deal through crazeal.com paying in advance the fee for dine out at PizzaRoma under a deal. when we decide to go to the place which is a few miles away one of the friends was waiting outside the place finding it completely empty we entered informing the front staff of the deal. to which we were told that it was completely reserved for the night -AN EMPTY PLACE!! was reserved for the night.

when out after 10 minutes we decided to ask for home delivery, but as that would take time, we enquired if there was place to sit and SURPRISE! SURPRISE! THEY SAID YES!!! when we then told them about the offer, the staff (kevin) almost immediately DICTATED US TO COME ON MONDAY BETWEEN 4-6 PM (which i guess is the mostttt inconvenient time to dine). DICTATED!!

adding they said that saturday night is only for regular business (they hadnt mentioned that in the deal). ON REASONING THIS KEVIN (STAFF) TOLD US TO TALK FACE TO FACE (ALMOST INTIMIDATINGLY) they also had their quirky ways in which they said they couldnt understand clear simple language.

pizza u can find all over the place, but great service is a rarity. and this for me was falling hitting new lows of service/integrity of providing value. we lost a night we wanted to celebrate, we felt humiliated, we were intimated... i cant quite put as much in words

How about some Tiramisu while you're at it :-)

Unpardonable crime

Ordered a pizza margharita here as this is my usual order. It comes piping hot and is delicious. Not today. My order was placed post-midnight. I picked up my pizza on the way back home. So I put in a movie, dim the lights, take the pizza out of the box, start the movie and have my first bite. God Awful. Notice something amiss. Add some oregano. Still awful. Then after 30 seconds it hits me that the pizza is not fully baked.

There is no way to fix a half-baked pizza. Not anything I know of. For someone who hasn't had anything to eat since 2 pm, keeping them hungry for the night also is an unpardonable crime. It's going to be khakhras for me tonight.

On any other day, Pizzaroma is a life saver but today you screwed it for me. I even left a tip for the day at the counter as he bid me farewell.

Hello Anand,
We take full responsibility for a hot pizza as our delivery boys carry it in a special hot case and reach it to our customers within 15 minutes of removal from the oven. However since you personally carried the pizza from our store as a takeaway in an AC car and did not eat it immediately upon arrival, it is quite possible the pizza got soggy. I don't even know how far you live from Lokhandwala and how long the pizza was in the box while you were switching on your movie. These are freshly rolled thin crusts and would stay hot

I'm a regular a Pizzaroma and have done this routine - order a pizza, go home, eat it - enough number of times to know that it works. I live literally 5 mins away. While the pizza was not piping hot when I opened the box, it was hot enough to dig into. I know bad days do happen and so won't take you to task for this one incident, but that day was indeed horrible for me.

Don't worry, you'll have to screw up one more time to lose me as a customer :-)

Good day!

Hi Dipshika,

As i can see your outlet is having expertise in Italian style thin crust pizza but i love to have authentic deep dish Chicago style pizza which is very difficult to get in Mumbai. can you suggest any good joint for same.

Great Place for Great Pizza.

Love the pepperoni. It's really "real" and it does not give you the shits like the other places out there. I have been going there for sometime now and I would recommend this place to pretty much anyone I know. I mean, not that I do that because there are so many things to talk about when you meet your friends but it's definitely worth recommending. You get the point.

Great food, not sure about sitting in though

Straight to the point... Loved the fact that we could order a half and half pizza, that ways we could have 2 different types. Was recommended one of the chicken pizza by a friend, but chose to order two veggie pizzas since I am not a fan of chicken on my pizza. I have to say, the crust, the base, the toppings all were excellent... we also ordered a bruschetta (which was very nice. I'm guessing they must have improvised as most reviews below suggest it was way too crispy) and penne arabiatta, which was delicious too, (have to mention the one we had at California Pizza Kitchen was so bad, we didnt even eat half the dish)....

About the place, it started off well had a homely atmosphere a very small sitting space which meant all the guests are sitting close and chatting with the owner, which is very rare although fresh in Mumbai. However over time it got a bit irritating as we had to hear the owner firing the staff over some work issues which continued for about 20 mins. It was quite hot too, it being an open kitchen, however they were quick to change the AC temperature on being informed about.

Barring that I think the place is great and if I were living close by I would have definitely called for some pizzaroma at home.

Nice Pizzas but can improve

Nice pizzas. Very fresh ingredients (tomatoes, veggies, sauces) and nice fresh base.

However the cold cuts used could be better, much better. The Pepperoni was decent but domino's uses better quality pepperoni. The spicy salami was really poor and tasted exactly like the salami from the yumeez frozen spicy salami packets. The four cheese pizza was very nice especially with the blue cheese and the piccante was very good too.

Will order home again, but hopefully they improve the quality of the cold cuts, which definitely are not up to international standards

Dear Xerxes,
Thank you for your valuable feedback. You were right about the chicken salami as my regular supplier had run out of stock last week and I had to resort to a local shop However, our pepperoni is imported from Italy and should be on par if not better than the kind served by other pizzerias...
Glad you took note of our freshness - we take great care to make our sauces and dough fresh every day. Look forward to serving you better next time.

Lovely thin crusts

I have been ordering pizzas from the time they opened up, and ordered one last evening...it was as always delicious. I am a big thin crust pepperonni lover, and always order their large pepperoni...it was excellent like always...i have also had their pizza roma special, quattro stagioni & napoli.....not a big fan of anchovies and sea food pizzas, but their nappoli was awesome. I used to like smoking joes in oshiwara, but have stopped ordering from them from the time they stopped stocking pepperonni, so will never ever buy from them again...i love the dominoes thin crust pepperonni and pizza roma's...the only down side is that thin crust pizzas are so light and you can eat an entire one yourself...so you have to order a couple..which becomes expensive...i also like their buy by the slice idea...good stuff and keep it up....ciao

Something different!

Had been here last weekend after reading a lot of positive reviews about this place on Burrp. When we reached here there were no guests. So we took the seats inside the A/C section.

The menu seemed nice and we ordered the Bruschetta first. It was strictly ok because the bread was too crispy for us. The pesto dip was good though. Next we ordered the Veg pizza sandwich which was delicious! And then we went for their Pizzaroma special pizza which was good again; later, the Veg Formaggi something pizza which I personally didnt like but it may be good for others.
was called for.
I really liked the thin crust which was definitely very different from other pizza outlets around and when we asked about what it is made of, they were kind enough to offer us to see when it is being freshly made.
Well, these are the good things about this place.

Now, the not so good part is that the servers absolutely wouldn't serve us! Since we had a table right next to their counter, they just kept the plates there and we had to practically take it ourselves from there. The worst of all is that since we ordered many dishes, not once did they come around the counter to clear the plates. We had to lift the used ones and keep them on the counter and then take the new dish on the table. I mean there was absolutely no one apart from us and yet they were so lazy to come around and serve us!

All in all I would say I may go back for the food which I definitely liked but the service needs to get better.

Not there as yet !

My readers would be too familaiar with my previous Pizza explorations...

The only reason we chose to try this place was that the owner Ms Dipshikha has religiously responded to the reviews of her joint. This kind of Customer orientation is not seen in recent times.

This place accepts SODEXO coupons.

We hit the place on Wed 2-Feb night ~ 10-30 pm..

The place was empty. Space is at a premium in Bombay.. :-(Its a pretty small outlet with just one table (for 2) that is situated indoors. The rest of the tables (some 4-5 of them; each can seat 2) are kept outside (verandah canopy).

We had the privilege of getting the (airconditioned) inside table. The counter guy was an affable character, who was amenable to giving 50-50 pizza. So we chose the 13-incher quatt formaggio (4-Cheese) and the other half.. (I suddenly dont recall the name..) had some olives etc..

We requested a wheat base instead of the maida base. We also ordered a garlic bread. It came - 5 pieces .. each about the size of a Britannia Good-day biscuit with a slight cheese topping). This tasted toooo crisp.. like we were biting into rusk.. apparently they were not freshly prepared.. Slight crisp is fine.. but tooo crisp and hard rouses suspicions.. AVOIDABLE..

They dont serve water. Perhaps you have to purchase the aquafina / bisleri.. I guess..

Then came the pizza. I surreptitiously measured the diameter. It came to 11.25 inches. I tried measuring from 3 different angles and the result was same.. with plus or minus 0.25 inches.. That is almost 2 inches less than indicated in the menu. For the mathematically inclined, that is almost 38 sq inches of pizza that is short supplied.
Or, put it this way.. the shortage amounts to 28% of the promised 13-inches..

In other words assume you have paid Rs. 500 for the pizza; what you got in return was only Rs 360 worth pizza..!! Talk about Baker's Dozen !!

Most of the joints do like that.. Refer my earlier pizza reviews. Thats mainly because no pizza joint believes that a customer would actually measure and ascertain the diameter.

ETHICS and VALUES among restaurants today have become a fast eroding commodities

Anyways coming back to the Pizza, the 4-cheese portion tasted decent. while the other half was a regrettable choice. (Should have stuck to the 4 cheese for the full 100%, in hindsight). Somehow the base crust was not baked properly. I could bite into the uncooked kachchaa chunks of the wheat base.. That was a spoiler..

In order to get the standard accompaniments You have to orally ask and call for them. I mean the Tabasco, Crushed black pepper, dried balsam, oregano, chilli flakes etc. The Tabasco bottle given has had the last few dying droplets of the sauce
The chilli flakes shaker had some orange powder in it!
The pepper crusher had its last few seeds in it. My wife, who has extensively toured Italy, was not impressed. We didnt/couldnt gather the courage to ask for a dash of EV Olive-Oil

With the above short-comings, Pizzaroma claiming to serve GOURMET pizza.. may tend towards sounding preposterous..

The staff (barely 1 or 2) is not arrogant.. that is a plus !!

When we were handed the bill, it had a clause printed on it saying 10% off on your bill on your next visit on presenting this bill. When I enquired about it, the reply was now the scheme has been withdrawn, the old billing stationery is still in use !!.

Pizzaroma, Ms. Dipshikha.. Pizzaroma has a LOOOOONNNG WAY TO GO. SCOPE for improvements exists.. provided you guys are eager to work upon it. I will constantly benchmark you guys with Spag-Kitch- Phoenix, Indigo-Phoenix.. my favorite pizza destinations.. You have a long ground to cover to become a GOURMET PIZZA House

Dear Mr Shankar,
Sorry to hear of your experience at Pizzaroma although when I checked with my manager he said you had not a single complaint regarding the food or service while at the store. Had you done so my staff have been trained to make good the entire order without even having to check with me.
With regard to your concerns on our ethics, it is impossible that the pizza was 11.25 inches. Our platter size itself is 12 inches and the pizza always spills out of it. It may not be an exact 13 inches as we are an artisanal pizzeria wher

Classic Pizza Joint !!!!

I have ordered from this place a few times. And without a doubt the pizzas are really good. I like the classic this crust with hot cheese. The thing to die for is their cheezy dip. The garlic bread is not that great, but the cheezy dip makes it awesome. I didn't get the chance to try non-veg pizza's but having eaten at here before I can't wait to try.

For the pricing, its a tad too overpriced compared to other counterparts like dominos, pizza hut, papa jones etc - but in the end it is all worth the price.

To sit the place is quite small & still requires some improvement & more trained staff - But definately a go for Take-away (they take & deliever orders even post 23:00 :) unlike pizza hut & dominos )

Perfect place for stale food lovers.....

I went for lunch yesterday with my wife at this place. Had heard good reviews on this site so decided to munch on some pizza's.

1) We ordered a 10"pizza(siciliana)...which was ok and had nothing great about it. It was pretty average stuff. We have had far more better pizza's in bandra and juhu. It deserves only a 1/10 for the food.

2) We wanted to order the pesto sauce pasta which was not available with them and so decided to go for the spaghetti arabiata(jain) which smelled so bad. The sauce was absolutely stale and changed my perception about this being a good place.
I told the manager that the food was pathetic and inedible. He made some changes to the pasta and told us that it smelled that way because of the sauce.

3)This place is pathetic with absolutely no place to sit inside the air-conditioned section. It has just ! tabe for 2. The place has no branches with the owners looking out for people who'd like to run it on a franchisee basis. The place is worse than a joint located near Dharavi.

4)Service: - Its the worst staff i have ever come across. They don't know the meaning of customer service, are inattentive and very disgusting. Not only the waiting staff, but even the manager has no sense of running a restaurant.. They have absolutely no clue about what is being serve.

5) Dipshikha Chaliha, Director I would like to mention this that your place is pathetic and you are doing just as much a pathetic job fooling people. I would have filed a legal case with the FDA if your manager wouldn't have waved off the charges for the pasta. I do not wish to criticize your place without any reason. I only speak out of experience and wish to alert my fellow burrpers about a place as filthy as this. Dipshikha do make some serious changes to this place otherwise there will be a legal case against you soon from someone else in the near future. I'd not accept a mere apology.

Give some take some

Went through Burrp's reviews before I ordered a Pizza, was forewarned about the cheese portions and the toppings. Spoke to Nikhil on the phone who was pleasant. Ordered a 13" Wheat Margarita. And the verdict is-

a) The Pizza is genuinely thin crust

b) The amount of Cheese on the Pizza was in all honesty rather miserly. Not only did they skimp on the Cheese but also on Basil. I can understand that Cheese is expensive but Basil??

c) The Pizza was cold

d) I have eaten EXTENSIVELY at places like Tratts(love it!), Indigo and some more. Eaten at Trattorias in Europe too, and in all honesty they(i.e Tratts, Mezzo Mezzo etc) do give quite a bit more cheese than what is offered here.

e) The taste of the Pizza was above average and is definitely a refreshing change from the been there done that Pizzas on offer from the big two.

f) They offer Whole Wheat

e) It is definitely a whole load cheaper than a Pizza at Mezzo Mezzo or Tratts but I wouldn't mind paying that bit extra to ensure that the Pizza was covered with Cheese (I would order from here again, though)

Below Average Pizza but with room for improvement

Had their pizza delivered home, unfortunately the pizza was luke warm at best, and needed to be reheated to be edible. Furthermore, there was barely any cheese on it. I have had other authentic style pizzas in the city, at the same price range and have never had such an issue. Even the other ingredients on the pizza were skimpy. Definitely pass on the artichokes, they retain way too much sourness from the bottle they were from and destroyed the pizza's taste complete. It felt like a vinegar pizza with occasional cheese to combat it. I have no issues paying up for an authentic styled pizza, but skimping out on ingredients after paying up isn't rewarding.

Saying that, I would probably strike this up as just one bad pizza from what could be a great pizzeria since I have heard other great reviews from friends about it. I will probably try it again, but at the restaurant, to ensure quality control.

its a treat for your tastebuds!

A friend of mine residing in lokhandwala introduced me to this place. i cant thank him enough! ever since that, ive been a regular at this joint

FOOD- Since its primarily a pizza joint, lets start off by talking about them!
I am thankful to the owner for introducing everyone to pizzas by the slice at a proper restaurant,at amazingly affordable prices! (started by santinos in the big malls, the pizza slices there cost you around 125 rs as against 75 rs for the non veg varieties here. You get 2 -8''slices as against a 10'' one at santinos The types of pizza offered being totally different though!)
The pizzas are AMAZING! with one of the best thin crusts you'll get in the city. The variety is good for both the veggies and non veggies. The white potato pizza they offer is quite a pleasant surprise! The siciliana, rustico, quattro, etc are just too pleasing for your palette!
TIP (For people who complain about the high prices)- try em by the slice and you get to taste all the varieties and you'll be surprised about how less they cost you. And also, this holds true for any pizza joint-eaten fresh at the restaurant is always better than delivered!

Another thing i would recommend is that you need to decide the ingredients you would want on your pizza. Put your own ingredients, choose the arabiatta and i bet you'll fall in love!
Stick to the pizzas and pasta and you will return home with a satisfied smile! (the lasagne I tried was disappointing)
They play some great music too.

A few complaints- a wider selection of beverages, and if you manage an alcohol permit ,it would be awesome and the full pizzas you offer are a tad too expensive especially considering the ambiance!

Also the ambiance could be a little better, though the 'little-snugly-located-homely-pizza joint` to a `swanky-overpriced-pizza restaurant`

And id like to defend the management there as they've been really courteous, always greeting you with a smile! hell, they even offered me a 10% discount on showing my previous bill on my next visits! (I was taken aback reading bout them making faces for the discount coupons, hope its not true)

Lastly, id to recommend every thin crust lover, this Place is a MUST TRY!! For once, you get pizzas that are actually better than how good the ones shown in pictures in the restaurant look !!! I personally rate this place a lot above the recently opened Ray's pizza cafe at bandra! Ray's ambiance is better though!

I'd request you to not take this personally.

The pizzas taste good but are not filling enough and also are a tad too overpriced.

The biggest turn off being the manager/owner making a bad face after hearing about discount coupons was what made me mad.

Also, since you call yourself a street side pizza parlour, you'd rather keep rates of those kind than like little italy(juhu), da vinci (bandra) , don giovanni (juhu), and a little less than mezzo mezzo (JW marriot)

You have disagreed with every point i have made defying that your pizzas could be stale.

You mentioned that I prefer American style pizzas which are VFM. Do you in any manner mean to say that your pizzas do not have VFM.

Its only an opinion.

In Response to Fireplague's Review

Since Ive been personally named in the review below I'd just like to clarify. My comparison of this place was not with Dominos or Pizza Hut but rather places that serve authentic thin crust pizzas.

I mentioned gourmet pizza at affordable rates and not just any pizzas at affordable rates. The minimum cost of pizzas at most Italian restaurants is minimum Rs 350 compared to which Pizzaroma starts off at Rs 190. Very few places have such fresh ingredients. Can't comment on the non veg options since I don't eat.

I also mentioned that one could try the slices which are far cheaper than an entire pizza and enable you to try various options.

Incase one is looking at something like Dominos/ Pizza Hut there is Mama Mia in Bandra...Far cheaper and decent.

nice but not nice....

I went to this place after reading the reviews about it.

The pizza was nice, had rustico, tasted pretty different and italian. The pizza turned up pretty quick. The kitchen has an open space making it possible for you to see through how they do their pizzas.

A few bad things.

The place is pretty small with just one table for 2 in the AC area and 3 other chairs without a table. Th place outside has two other tables.

A manager was instructing all to function in a particular manner and when we informed him about the discount voucher, he seemed to have been the unhappiest. I'd suggest to not advertise if you are not to keen on giving out the discounts.

3) The place is at par with pizza hut and dominoes and is in no manner cheaper than its counterparts. The non veg 13 inch pizzas start from 370 and shoot upto 480.

The pizzas aren't filling at all and i had to have a subway even after having finished half of a 13 inch pizza.

The garlic bread served here is half the size of the garlic breads served at the other pizza counterparts.

The only reason I am rating it is 3 is because the pizza tasted pretty good.

Yummy Gourmet Pizza at Affordable Rates

The place is pretty small but you feel like you're at a pizza bar.

Food: The garlic bread is very average and can be avoided. The thin crust pizzas are yum with freshest ingredients. Tried the Margarita, Siciliana and Quattro Fromaggi. All three were yum and very distinct in taste. Definitely order by slice so you can try all the different combinations with 2 slices being more than enough for one person.

Damages: Rs 55 for a Veg slice and Rs 75 for non-veg. The 10 inch pizzas start from Rs 190.

Its total VFM and I would definitely go again and recommend it as well. Unfortunately they don't deliver to Juhu on weekends.

Love their pizza, especially the Quattro Formaggi (sinful). Great effort at serving authentic Italian pizza. The 5-star rating is mainly for the food & friendly service. The place is small and the seating a bit uncomfortable but it's located at a cozy corner & once the pizza arrives you're in yum-heaven & couldn't care less about comfort! Have visited/ordered almost 8-10 times so far and never once been disappointed.

MMMM .... yummilicious!

Finally tried this place yesterday and I must say it was excellent. I've been wanting to try this place for months now, but the location is inconvenient as far as parking is concerned. But finally parked a long way away and walked as I was unable to resist the temptation any longer!
We had garlic bread which I thought was very nice and crisp, and 3 slices - Rustico, Roma Chicken and the nonveg quattro. It was thin crust pizza like it should be; every bite was tasty and hugely satisfying. Have to try the pasta next time I'm there!
They don't deliver in Vile Parle west where I stay though, which made me sad :( I wish they would increase the delivery radius a lil bit!
But otherwise, excellent pizza joint, full marks to you guys!

Awesome, but not filling.

We ordered one large Siciliana Pizza and one medium non-vegetarian pizza.
The pizza was really good. It was a refreshing change from Pizza Hut and Domino's.
We paid Rs 700 for the pizza and he gave us 2 garlic bread servings for free.
The garlic bread was pretty okay and I'd suggest you not to try it. It's more like the garlic bread made at home. It is nothing in comparison to the rich, thick, buttery and oh-so-full-of-awesome garlic breadsticks available at Domino's (that's all they're good at)
We had to share a large pizza and a medium pizza between the 4 of us. If we ordered from Pizza Hut, our appetite would have been satiated.
Don't get me wrong, the pizza was AWESOME. It was similar to the pizza served at Olive!
I guess thin-crust pizzas are not meant to be very filling.
This place is definitely worth a try.
Very reasonable.

GREAT EFFORTS , GREAT PIZZA

On basis of reviews, i decided to try the pizzas here. We called for APERITIVO , DIAVOLA and QUATTRO STAGIONI. It was nice and crispy, served hot like it should be. Looking forward to try their other dishes too.

Good pizza, though cold!

I tried Pizzaroma after a few recommendations from friends.... and it turned out the pizza was bang on. thin crust, the way it should be, the rustico was pretty filling. But it was cold! Did he just pick one off the shelf to deliver, i dont know, but the cold killed the taste.

I also tried out the pizza sandwich, which I was recommended on the phone. Nice effort, nice outcome. However, wrapping it up in aluminum foil just kills it and makes it cold again.

Pizzorama, you need to fix your delivery effort. Pizza home delivery in andheri is a big market, and you gotta get this right!

Hi. Usually we deliver within a 15-minute radius as a thin crust would lose heat rapidly beyond that time. Yours could have been one of two deliveries at the same time during rush hour but no excuses. Will take your feedback and hope to serve you hot pizzas next time. Thanks.

Good on taste

Taste - Good, Delivery - Prompt
The only only reason I would give it a 4 star is: I asked for a well done pizza, but upon having it I found it was slightly uncooked. The taste was great, so there were no leftovers
I also ordered for a portion of Penne Arrabiata. While Arrabiata sauce is spicy, this one was not spicy
Hopefully next time it will be better ??

Another great experience

Again opted for Pizzaroma for delivery to our flat nearby, and again, we got quick, prompt and very courteous service, good communication on the phone, honest delivery times, and most importantly, a great tasting pie. We ordered the Bellasai, a mushroom-onion pizza, which was delicious mainly because it was so simple; as well as the Siciliana (artichoke hearts, capers, sundried tomatoes, olives and garlic) - both were very yummy. We could have done with a slightly crispier crust, since ANY pizza when delivered begins to sag a bit, but I'm sure the crust is crispy as a biscuit if you have it to dine in.

Keep up the good work - I've long forgotten the Dominoes of the world because of Pizzaroma.

Waste of Money

I wanted to try pizza from Pizzaroma since a long time - ever since it opened up in the vicinity. Finally the day came - and I visited the place to pick up the take away menu. The place was smelling good.

It was interesting to see the varieties and toppings available. I tried a Marinara and a Spianata. The outlet promotes itself as Authentic Thin Crust pizzas and the crusts were actually thin - but the taste was bad. I'd also ordered for Garlic Cheese bread which was way below average and also a Bruschetta which was nothing but bread topped with loads of tomatoes. Absolutely a disaster. Either the pizzas/breads were really bad - or I don't have that "Authentic Italian" taste bud. May be the Indianized pizzas of other chains are to blame for that. Oh the Cheesy dip was nice - and thats what gets them a star.

Service was ok. Pizza was delivered in time. No complaints on that. But I doubt if I am ever going to order from Pizzaroma again.

Total Damage was 600 bucks - plus the cost of Maggi which we had to eat to fill our stomach.

Nice Place, Reasonably Priced, Must Visit Often

Wife and I first visited Pizzaroma on whim and slightly growling tummies in Nov 09. Found the place to be different, staff nervous being new in business yet friendly and the pizza - we ordered the Rustico - extremely delicious. Beats Pizza Hut and Dominos by yards on price, size and taste. Healthier with fresh sauce and very little grease. Dipshikha has concocted a winner and needs to have more addresses in town. Went back again in Jan, had their Roma Chicken and found the experience even better. Same great taste with discount coupons! So, pizzaroma is definitely taking the battle to the big pizza delivery guys' turf. Need more space indoors/outdoors with wooden benches tables. Would look more authentic and spacious. Do I get free pizzas for writing a good review? let's see

great pizza

Had passed by the place several times and was curious but yesterday decided to drop in.
This is pizza for people who are bored of the usual dominoes/pizza hut/ garcia pizzas and want a good Italian style pizza.

This is a great little place. Deepshika and her team are friendly and helpful.

Pizzaroma is unlike all the usual chain pizza places. It is a genuine italian style thin crust pizza made fresh when you order. it is similar to the pizza at del Italia or don Giovanni in juhu but at a very reasonable price.
The best part is that you can buy slices (each slice is a decent sized rectangle, about 6x4 inches) of any pizza and even better that the slices are not reheated but freshly made.
I had 3 slices, one each of margheita, marinara and contadina. The toppings are fresh and the combinations different and tasty. None of the usual capsicum, onion, tomato pizzas here.

I was told by Deepshika to try the pasta but when the pizza is so good I am not sure I'll get around to it. Maybe next time I'll order just a single slice and then some pasta.
Theres a gelato shop next door to end a very tasty Italian meal.

On the whole highly recommended - this is a gourmet pizza experience at a great price.
i don't think there are any other pizza shops in the suburbs doing such an authentic Italian style pizza. Now if only someone would make a Chicago style deep dish pie.

Decent Pizza...Bad Delivery

The pizza's are a bit diff from the domino's types but the pizza seem's to have potential can be tried if it doesn't come to you cold (outcom...pizza turns paapd). Wouldn't want to order home delivery here on a weekend.

I was told time to delivery was 35-40 min but when i called at T+55 min i was told 5-10 min more as it's a weekend...at 65 min i'm told that the guy's at my door (I didn't hear a doorbell so dunno what's their definition of "at the door")...I said that if there is nobody in the next 10 min then i shall return the pizza then finally the bell rings at T+75 and i'm given a pizza by a sullen delivery person (maybe i was the last in a round of 10 deliveries).....at least Joey's tells me that it's rushed today and we'll take time to deliver and the pizza turns up hot also :o

I say again... the pizza seem's to have potential but try not to order on a weekend.

looks reasonable

could you please update us with prices by the slice?

I like the concept of serving pizza by the slice, people get to try different things and you dont eat as much or feel guilty of wasting...not that it matters in my case as a 12 inch pie would go down my belly in no time ;-)

Hahahaha - hope you will live up to your name at Pizzaroma :) It's Rs 55 for a vegetarian slice and Rs 75 for the non-veg. Rs 95 for the pepperoni as it is imported from Italy. Size is about 7 X 5 inches, rectangle, sliced down the middle.

Nice little Pizza joint around the corner.

Now I don't normally give stuff a five star review but sometimes I like to skew the average on something I have an opinion on and thus the five star rating (otherwise I would give it a 4). I also registered on Burrp just to write this review because I believe that places like this are not common in Mumbai and need good exposure so that they last (but not become so full of themselves that they take a nosedive in quality, customer service and everything that made them good). A friend of ours told us about this small little place in Lokhandwala and told us we absolutely must come here. Even though we live in juhu, we do visit lokhandwala a lot for the multiplexes and I'm going to make this place a regular visit before or after every movie I watch around here.

The pizza is great (not perfect, some of the non-veg slices that we tried were a little weird but most of the simple slices were delicious). We ordered a LOT of variety and must have easily tried 75% of the menu and there were some ingredients that I didn't care for too much (didn't particularly like the Pepperoni and the spicy salami, something seemed off) but I think if you order simple pizzas (like the four cheese pizza called Quattro Formaggi or something like that) or some basic chicken based pizzas, you can't go wrong and you will definitely not be disappointed. The sundried tomato topping was also nice. The crust was nice and thin and light (perfect) and to top it off the customer service was great. Will be trying the pastas next time. Hopefully they won't disappoint. So all in all a very good experience, great value for money and I will definitely be coming back and recommending it to a lot of friends. Maintaining the quality of food and good service will propagate good word of mouth, which will do wonders for this place. Keep it up.

Great HD Pizza!

No, I don't mean High Definition, but Home Delivery. This side of town needed a place like this: focus on quality, thin-crust, tasty pizzas (not the oily gut bombs that Dominoes, Pizza Hut or Smokin' Joes serves up). Their ingredients are fresh, menu is simple and not overwhelming, and they even throw in a few pasta concoctions if you're simply offended by pizza.

All in all, great home delivery experience, delivery boy arrived promptly, was courteous, and didn't hang around expecting a tip (even though he got one). Would recommend for pizza deliveries over any of the chains any day of the week and twice on Sundays!

Need for Speed

Dear Pizza Roma,

Can you please get the people that pick up the phone be a little speedier in taking the order or simply understanding the locality. Don't know how much of your business depends on delivery but please some method to the madness would help a hungry customer.

Haven't tried the pizza yet, will edit my review once i taste it, heard good things about the food though.

Pizza is very italian but missing a pinch of something in the sauce, overall authentic and good, oh by the way the delivery guy forgot to bring my coke, or wait i told them COKE BUT THE DUMB ASSES GOT THUMBS UP, what a BAD service experience!!!!

Hungry Angry Customer.

By the Slice

Extremely closeby, meaning to try it out. So my daughter went to pick up the menu. Did not want to end up eating a full each, luckily they had Slices - quite a nice idea.

Ordered two slices of Margherita(classic pizza with mozzarella & basil) & Marinara (Tomato, garlic & fresh oregano) with a portion of cheesy garlic bread with dip.

Margherita - Crisp base with just the perfect cheese spread & basil tinge.

Marinara - Tomatoes were fine, better than pizza hut etc. but garlic pods! guess they have yet to discover garlic crusher & unfortunately the base was not crisp enough.

Cheesy bread was ok, whilst the dip was amazing, thick with taste buds exploding.

Expense - approx Rs. 200/- worth it. Definitely need to try their other pizzas & pastas

The pizzas were good but...

Wifey craved a pizza but didn't want to have one from either Domino's or the Pizza Huts of the world. Finally after searching far and wide, we discovered Pizzaroma. They claim to server thin crust pizzas the way they're made in Italy.

The online menu looked good. We ordered one Roasted pepper Pizza and one with Artichokes and Sun-dried tomatoes. We also ordered one Garlic bread and a Bruschetta. The pizzas were good and made thin crust as promised. However I was disappointed by the Bruschetta, which was way too salty for anyone to enjoy (or even eat).

The service was very efficient. I would order pizzas from here the next time, but probably won't go for the Bruschetta.
