yes sir , I had the order taking numbers with me and was out of range in yeoor so but obviously unreachable . anyways the restaurant had shut down about a fortnight ago and we had announced the same on all possible channels , FB , Twitter , burrp, zomato .
we have temporarily shutdown and are planning to restart the moment we find a suitable place for Qisho's again .until then Keep the faith .

February 6, 2013response from the Bacchus:

Thanks for the clarification Kishore. In the brief period that Qisho's was in Thane, i'd have been there/ordered food about half a dozen times. I love Qisho's and I hope you find a suitable spot. A request - please work on the decor and ambiance this time (if it's a part of your offering). Going by the description on Burrp - it's not a date spot (my lady will feel I don't have class), it's not particularly romantic, and it's definitely not large group friendly. I don't remember listening to Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Eric Clapton et al, but may

Stupendofantastically awesomazing experience!!!!

I being an ardent Pasta Lover decided to try Quisho's with my husband who is an Iced Tea fan..... After entering the restaurant, looking at the interior, we both thought for the moment to turn back, bt m glad we didnt... after settling down Mr Kishore, a wonderful person, the owner and amazingg chef welcomed us. Being our first meal there we asked him to recommend the dishes... He suggested Grilled Chicken Quessedilla, Cheese Chicken Bombers, My favourite Pasta Arabiatta, Peach-Apricot Iced Tea and Kiwi Iced Tea..... Let me tell u, the taste was amazinggggggggg.... Had the best Pasta till date.... The consistency of Pasta was very impressive.... and so is the quantity.... I was full by the time I ate half of my Pasta.... I asked to parcel the remaining pasta coz I didnt wanna waste such an amazing food...
After few days we again decided to visit Quisho's... And this time I starved myself for the entire afternoon just to enjoy the entire Pasta at Quisho's in the evening...
Thumbs up Kishore!!!!! Keep up the good work of tickling the taste buds of Thane-its with an outstanding food ;-)

Mustttt try !No questions !

Well , where do I start...I can just go on raving abt this awesome place. To start with I am a total foodie & taste and flavors matter to me more than anything else.So on a friday my friend tells me a lot abt this place & I decide to try it out.And ,the menu really confused & surprised me at the same time , but hey dont worry presenting to you the most simplified and customised menu is the amazing human being , a blessing to foodies like us (the owner , Kishore) who will sort out all your confusion regarding the must-try. I started with quessadilla & I got lost in paradise after every bite..Not to mention the yum complimentary sauces you get along with it.Next in line was the pasta , which was so mouth wateringly delicious. I mean I wonder there is no big restaurent that I havent tried Pasta and Lasagne at but this was something else. The roast chicken, the cheese..the mushrooms, the fresh aroma..this man sure knows how to satisfy a foodie completely so
that they beg for more. Not to mention their yummy smoothies.Must try:Passion fruit smoothie.I have visited this place twice in the last 1 month and I am already craving.Kishore is really a friendly, humble and modest man & a foodie like me will worship him for such a social cause to the society..Good work man ! Thanks for serving mankind like this!!

Very good ambience, but everything goes downhill from there. Food is average, service is slow.

A little bite of heaven

The food here is orgasmic. The quessadilla is easily the best dish here or anywhere for that matter, I still dont understand how a flour preparation can be soft and crunchy at the same time. There is a story behind every dish on the menu or concoct one of your own. Mr. Kishore is an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to talk to. If you are adventurous, do try the jalapeno smoothie, its a total riddle, sweet when you drink it, burns like a bitch on its way down.

Awesome Food !!

After reading lots of review me and my wife decided to go n try quisho's cuisine.
When we first entered the hotel the interior made a big turn down for us but we still decided to carry on and give the food a try... Mr.Kishore the owner n Chef himself welcomed us and guided us or u can say gave us a tour of his cuisine...which was the first of a kind experience for use n he's a gem of a person absolutly friendly and energetic. On his suggestion we Ordered Pasta , quessedillla, Cheeese Chicken Balls and Kiwi Litchie Ice Tea ..the foood was amazingggggggggg... finger licking.. Must try for world cuisine lovers. Only Cons are the interior ( which he promised will renew in few monts ) and Price. A bit costly but worth the great food.

I would have given 5/5 but i will withheld the one star for interior and price.. but a must try in Thane hotel.

Surprised and satisfied

Heard my friends discussing about this place when I came back home to Thane for vacation. I have lived in this city long enough to know all the places that serve food worth the money they charge and according to my friends, Qisho's was the latest addition to the list. When I actually went there I was first of all really amused to see menu. All the options looked mouth watering and worth trying. I finally ordered a quesadilla and rice with fish in garlic sauce. Now it was my tummy's turn to be happy. The food was very good..actually it was very very very good. I live in US..I frequent an authentic mexican place..coz I thought that they make the best ever quesadilla...till now! I feel very weird and happy saying that I had the best quesadilla ever at Qisho's..:D
Kishor was more than halpful in helping us decide what we wanted. Not only his manner was pleasant and warm, he knows what he serves! I think that is one quality I am yet to see in any restaurant in Mumbai. The ambiance of the place definitely could be better.
Cant wait to go back and try more yummy food!!..keep up the good work!

once again qisho's outshines itself. It seems the owner kishore is hell bent to change the principle : "it is impossible to improve perfection", bcoz he seems to set standards of quality of food at very high level on every visit . after experimenting with mexican and italian cuisine in my previous encounters , it was time to test some desi cuisine . on a chilly sunday evening, we were introduced to spicy and juicy maratha kababs. trust me, they were the juiciest pieces of chicken ever tasted. the aagri mutton gravy and chicken biryani were delicious and was the perfect way to end the meal. i would also like to make a special mention of the lemon iced tea served here. you can customize your iced tea from strong , medium and mild as compared to any outlet where they store a standard concentrate giving you no alternative. we then rounded off the evening with paan shots and his special made liquer chocolates. yummmy .

Qisho's is a must visit for any person who enjoys good food. The Cheese Corn and Chicken Cheese Corn balls, Panneer and Corn Quesadilla and the Veg Lasange where all very good. We specially enjoyed the dips with the corn balls and the Quesadilla. We went with Kishore's recommendations and as expected enjoyed our food. Thank you Kishore for giving us a reason to come down to Thane.

What do you get when you give a die hard foodie a

What do you get when you give a die hard foodie a place to set up his own restaurant? Qisho's. Run by foodie Kishore Talreja, it's now one of my favourite restaurants in Bombay.

Ambience - Friendly, relaxed and well-spaced out. We aren't packed together like Sardines here.

Food - THIS is what you come here for. I went with a friend and absolutely DEVOURED everything that came to our table. What's good to eat here?

a) Jalepeno Shake. WTF is a Jalepeno shake? It's a shake with Jalepeno. MUST TRY. Don't go home without it!

b) The Bruschetta was one of the best I've had in a long while. Cheesy, succulent and not for the faint of heart.

c) Paneer Quesidilla was what my vegetarian friend ate for Main Course. Again, a nice big portion that left her happy and paralyzed. (secret tactic to make us feel lazy to leave and eat more?)

d) HAM & BACON BURRITO. Yes. This is more than a few mouthfuls of tasty tasty piggy goodness. If Adam Richman from Man Vs Food were to have a Mumbai episode, he would come here.

One of THE places to go if you're a foodie. You won't be disappointed.

It was a very different experience to have dinner at Qisho's in Thane. The food quality is excellent, world class I must say and the best part is you can ask for a customized version for your food. The ambience was good. What I was surprised at was that in my life time for the first time I came across with someone as a Hotel owner - Mr.Kishore who interacted with us and had a GREAT KNOWLEDGE about the TASTE, HEALTH, AND WORLD WIDE CUISINE. We had a nice tum-yum soup, steamed kebabs, oven baked veggies, and his speciality - Jalapeno Smoothie. He also has something great called 'panshots' which we just missed but will have next time. Hi Kishore,

I loved your response. Thats what is called taking complaint seriously. You are into rite business.
Few clarification.
- I have rated the food & not given any detail as I thought I didn't have much to talk about.
- As you advised, we called you up befor coming & you are the only person serving us.
- Delay was actually about a little more than an hour as you fell down from your unique stairscase while coming up with foods & had to cook again.

Any way, I have my best wishes with you. You do very well. I am very sorry for expressing my dislike.

HYPED ? Created?

Created my ID for the first time, though burrping for long as a food lover. Thought of starting with Qisho as every time you log-in in Burrp, it appears as one the the best in the world. Could not control & had to drive down long to enjoy this food with 2 other friends and family on a Sunday for lunch.
Few questions came in our mind when we entered...
- A 5* rated restaurant... on a Sunday... no customers at all?
- Interiors at a bad shape.
- Furnitures are looking not cleaned for long.
- Hygiene facorts are just not there.
- You need to take a staircase which is at a bad shape & quite accidental.
- Only one table boy who dont understand much.
- None of the fish dishes are available.
Normally it happens for a restaurant which is not running properly. I pray I am wrong.
Started looking at menu. So complicated & tinny words that you have to depend on the owner to favor you by suggesting some dishes of his choice.
It took about an hr to get the food & our expectation on a 5* food cooled down to a 2* kind.
Nothing more to say. Nothing excited at all for a mixed batched family of bengali, south indian & punjabi of ours who traveled quite a lot in the world.

I will request the owner to come to Brew House in belapur or Tatva in Sanpara Navi Mumbai to understand what part of world cuisine is all about.
All the best!!!!

You Can't Eat Just Once!!!

Recommended by a friend and was not disappointed one bit... Kishore (Owner) gave a customer experience we get in a 5Star hotel... Client engagement was something refreshing to see after such a long time... Food is simply awesome... Mexican, Italian, etc... Grilled Chicken Lasagna was a delight... I used fork and spoon but was still licking my fingers!!! Such is the food experience.... That's why I say "You Can't Eat Just Once" I am coming here for sure again and again...

Today afternoon I had what was truly a satisfying and delicious eating experience at Qisho's. We started with a Chily garlic chicken Quesedilla ... then enjoyed some delicious chicken and cheese balls and wrapped up with grilled chicken lasagne :) :) :)... Really this place is a blessing to Thane and as a Thaneite I feel so happy that I have a true world cuisine expert in Kishore to guide my taste buds so close to my place. It goes without saying that I will keep going back as much as I can and try everything there is on the Menu... coz... Its really worth it. The kitchen members do put it their heart to make the food tasty and it shows. I highly recommed this joint to everyone who is even remotely interested in Mexican and Italian cuisine and those who havent had the chance to indulge yet... hurry up!! :) - Prasad(The pepperoni lover :) )

The food out here is justtt too gd.. and its here in my hometown THANE :)
Had heard about Qishos a few months back but never got to try it until last week..
And after being there I realized that I have wasted a lot of time and money eating out in other restaurants.
I had been here with a friend of mine who is also a foodie... We had Mexican Enchiladas And Pasta….
Both the dishes were so perfect that me and my friend got so involved in the food we simply forgot the point we had meet up for to discuss..
Had an Awessome time.. Special thanks to Kishor Talreja, the owner / chef / awesome human being.

Great experience

this is my 2nd review for qishos. Today I had been to qishos for dinner. Last time when I wrote the review I had come for a takeaway. I was with one of my friends today who really wanted to visit this place as I was all gaga about it.
I was all in all a little scared as my friend is very choosy and too much of a nakhrebaaz when it comes to food.
I ordered quasedillas and after reading all the reviews on burp I told kishore I wanted to try the pirate eye mushrooms and jalapeno smoothie. After a 10 min long discussion my friend settled down to order a focaccia S/W-oven backed veggies.
first came the quasedillas and I felt like I myself was awaiting for my first job interview results- for the verdict from my friend. After a few bites there came no verdict but my friend went ahead with 2 more pieces of the quasedillas. I was relieved. I knew I would be getting the verdict only after all the dishes were on the table,
Next came the pirate eye mushrooms. It was totally different from anything that I have had before. if you like trying out something different and like experimenting then you should surely try these mushrooms. Last came the S/W.
when I saw the S/W it looked a little similar to the S/W which we have at subway. so I expected it to taste something like that, but kishore suprised me once again. The sandwich was no where even near to any other S/W I have had. The perfect bread stuffed with the perfect combination of veggies. The sandwich was so awesome that my friend couldn't stop himself from saying 5/5 for the food.
Next time I would be surely trying out the lasagna.
Thank you kishore for such a wonderful experience. Will be back again soon.

the italian stallion

visit to QISHO'S is all about experiencing a culinary journey. when we visit or travel to any vacation hotspot , we cherish the memories all along.
a trip to QISHO'S GIVES YOU THE SAME EXPERIENCE.
but , the difference is that at every visit at QISHO'S it gives you a new and fresh experience , be it the mexican delights such as the tacos with lamb, mexican wings , quasedillia or the yummy fully loaded burritos.
the jalapeno smoothie makes you feel heaven and earth in the same time. you really wonder how can one enjoy such a combination at the same time .
for his indian delights , try the paaya soup with the paaya alongwith pav . it simply tingles the right spots and gives an invitation to your tastebuds to try for more.
for the diet conscious, try the simple caesar salad with balsamic vinegar dressing with such generous portions of grilled chicken and egg whites , it would feed atleast three customers in one single plate.
And finally , the honours goes to my title "the italian stallion" it has to go to the LASAGNE with grilled chicken and mushrooms. the moment you dig into the 1st spoon into the lasagne, trust me you do not want to be interrrupted.
the layers of cheese, sheets of pasta and grilled chicken and mushroom embedded in them gives you an exotic pleasure of a lifetime. it is like reaching a karmic state or peace within ourselves till the entire plate is licked clean.
HATS off to chef and owner KISHORE for delivering an exotic variety of foods consistently.

A Culinary Experience

The restaurant had just opened after something like 5 days of closure (to the horror of many Thaneites, I am sure) so some ingredients were in short supply - unfortunately for me, but understandably, this included two of my favorites as a Mexican foodie; guacamole & refried beans. Indispensable ingredients! But Kishore is good enough to not make them necessary to enjoy authentic Mexican food.

I ordered a burrito and also sampled some of my friend’s quesadilla. The burrito was quite good, and very filling - it is a big burrito! (And for something like 150Rs, is an excellent value), and the quesadilla was one of the best - maybe *the* best - I have ever had - so much so that I forgot to regret the lack of guacamole to dip it in.

I also had a “jalapeno smoothie” to drink which was… unexpectedly delicious. I regret only that I drank it before my food arrived, as I think it would have been an excellent contrast to spicy, warm (temp) Mexican food - a spicy, chilled drink!

The value is one of the most impressive things about this place. Here we have a top-flight chef with fresh ingredients - everything from scratch, cooking gourmet, very customized food, yet charging very reasonable prices when he could easily gouge instead. Aside from indicating the quality of Kishore-ji’s character, this also means this is an establishment far more concerned with the quality of the food than its profit margins. Nonetheless, I am sure that Qisho’s will grow over the next years, and I look forward both to seeing it in a new, more suitable location, and seeing Kishore train more chefs to carry the torch to other localities. There is really no limit to where this restaurant’s concept could go - the volume of reviews here speaks for itself.

Other positive impressions: Kishore seems to treats his staff quite well, managing to be able to casually converse with them without losing respect and authority. And he has a big heart! taking care to make each and every guest feel uniquely welcomed and appreciated.

One gets the sense that however difficult it is to juggle so many responsibilities, he is already living his dream and completely at home in his element.

As far as the meal itself, the burrito was quite good even without beans and guacamoles, ingredients I normally consider essential. I was somewhat surprised that Qisho’s Mexican rice features celery, which I have personal ‘issues’ with. I had not previously seen celery in Mexican rice - this is not to say that Qisho’s Mexican rice is at all inauthentic, although I’ve never personally had arroz cooked w/ celery, Mexican cuisine covers a big territory and there are at least 5 different cuisines within Mexico itself, plus 2 or 3 in Southwestern US - where I am from. There’s a lot of room for variations without losing inauthenticity. For people who are neutral on, or like celery, I’m sure it’s great. I would like to suggest though offering Mexican rice without celery, and somewhat shorter grain.

The only technical issue I saw was how the lettuce was placed in the burrito - and this is minor. From what I could tell, the filling were placed in the tortilla quite hot, including the lettuce, and then the tortilla was briefly toasted on a skillet. This is fine - from the perspective of most fillings, but is an error when using guacamole & lettuce - as both of these lose their appropriate texture & taste when heated.

Also - some like their sour cream warm and runny, others like it to be a cooling contrast - I fall in the latter group, but heating sour cream isn’t an error so much as personal preference.

My suggestion is to place the fillings in the tortilla when they’re merely warm, rather than hot, to place the lettuce on-top of cheese and cream (the heat and humidity of the beans and rice will soften it, the cheese is low moisture, and the cream will be cold) and not to toast the burrito after stuffing it. If toasting is to help “seal” the fold, a little bit of melted cheese can be used in that way.

I offer this suggestion only as constructive criticism, and I only feel comfortable saying this because of my experience as a Mexican foodie and also - my father was a chef for many years and I learned some tradecraft from him. I grew up in a mecca of Mexican food - Southern California, and I’ve probably eaten upwards of 2,000 burritos.

I love that everything is made from scratch, including the sour cream, ranch, etc., and that the menu is constantly being revised - which means both perfectionism and experimentation combined. I can see Kishore as a mad scientist who spends a good deal of time in his laboratory, sampling his own creations and making changes accordingly, hunting the elusive “perfect” dishes.

In this spirit, I’d like to make some suggestions to expand the menu:

Salsas:
I had a pico-de-gallo style salsa, which was quite good. I would also like to try a more “sauce-like” Mexican red salsa (am not sure if this is available already or not). Also, a smoky red salsa (with adobe/chipotle added), and a tomatillo-based green salso - both of these might be difficult to get, I am not sure if adobe peppers or tomatillos are available here.
Fruit salsas: cranberry, mango, cherry and pineapple (and, I am sure, some others) all make good substrates for sweet & spicy salsas, using the fruit (1 or more) instead of tomato. Kinda like a fresh pickle.

Molé preparations & hoja santa

Chile relleno “stuffed chili” - by itself, a long chili (I have seen such in Indian markets, but do not know what is called) - they are somewhat mild (but not completely so like capsicum; they still have a bite), about 6” long and at the widest maybe 1.25” in diameter. One cuts off the top, scoops the seeds out (good reused in the rice), and stuffs them with cheese, using an eggy-batter to coat them, and then fries. This can be served by itself, with a sauce (usually a more brothy-enchilada sauce or molé), or it can be put into a burrito (chile relleno burrito) with other fillings.

I understand that Qisho’s is oriented around offering many cuisines and it might be difficult to offer the equivalent of a fully Mexican restaurant in a Mexican-food eating region, nonetheless great pains have already been undertaken to cover so much customization and I am so pleased by seeing the breadth and scope of Qisho’s concept that I feel compelled to suggest my culinary ideal anyway to one I know is capable of making it a delicious reality if they were so inclined.

And here’s a really outside suggestion; fake-meat! which can be made from textured soy protein or gluten, to accommodate vegetarians who nonetheless love the texture of meat.

I also love Italian food, and would suggest as additions to the menu:
Parmigiania di melanzane (brinjal sliced into thin rounds, sweated, covered in either flour only or fully breaded (flour - egg - breadcrumbs), baked or fried, and then baked in with tomato sauce and mozzarrella.
Stuffed pastas (ravioli, canelloni, etc.) - so much room for innovation with stuffing!

Although my personal experience was somewhat lessened due to lack of regular ingredients and the presence of celery, neither of which is the fault of the establishment, it was nonetheless the best dining experience I’ve had in over 18 months in India, and I am sure next time will rank among my best dining experiences worldwide

Thank you for existing Qisho's!

missing qisho's spanish pepperoni focaccia - hands down the best thing after the ham cheese corn balls and the enchilladas...etc...longing to have the lip smacking food again.

scrumptious happy food.

i strongly believe, that someone poor at heart cannot cook good food.
kishore is a rich man, a big man! and it shows in his food! amazing stuff! he adds warmth to that place.
i loved the fact that he customises food to such a great extent!
i died and went to heaven with the jalapeno smoothie. the mutton dish(who's name i dont remember :( ...)was beautifully cooked. not over cooked, not raw. took a bite and it crumbled beautifully around my tongue. how of does that happen with meat?

my friends (we were 8of us) ordered a variety of meats and also a vegetarian pasta. they all loved it. i must say the non veg items were way awesomer than the vegetarian ones.

i give qisho's five stars. For the texture of the food, for the flavours, for the innovative passion of kishore and for the time i had that day .

very important: miss a meal before you go there. you will regret not being able to eat more. i did

Truly a Cuisine World..!!

I went there on last Sunday 28 Oct ’12, with my friend to get the idea about the whole place & food.

The place looks fancy & eye catching from out. Its not that big from inside but enough for small parties or hangouts with Ground plus 1 arrangement.

We were welcomed by the Owner, we made ourselves comfortable on level1, we were handed over a bible of menu card which was hardly 6 pages with probably more than 600 items stuffed in it.

We soon gave up on research study & directly asked him to suggest us the best, he suggested us Cheese Corn Balls & Chicken & Quesadilla after knowing the fact we love cheese & chicken, we were also suggested a jalapeno smoothie by him.

The ambience was good enough with moderate interiors & lighting, classic soft rock was being played in the background which I liked.

Our jalapeno smoothie arrives, it was basically a crushed jalapeno with a little curd in it & whole sugar sprinkled over it, giving that sweet & crunchy effect to the spicy jalapeno, i really liked the rare combination & the best thing was, it was on the house..;)

Then comes our Quesadilla, a basic tortilla filled with lots of cheese & grilled chicken in it, which was served with a Ranch & Tomato Salsa, a perfect cheesy delight.

Then arrives Cheese Corn Balls & Chicken with a tartar dip, a corn flour coated fried ball with cheese & minced chicken stuffed in, when I tried to slice it with a spoon, it was so soft that my spoon went right through it without any efforts, it melted right away in my mouth.

Having little knowledge of continental food, it is really hard to say whether the preparation was authentic or not but the food was really good not only the taste wise but the quality wise as well.

So overall the place is amazing for food safari, with so many cuisine options under one roof that too around area like thane is really a great thing.

I’ll definitely visit again just to calm down my exploring nerves.

Special thanks to Kishore, an experienced chef & Owner for suggesting right food for us..:)

Keep up the good work !!

Awesome Food!!!

We discovered it by accident - ( ok the better half discovered it ) . Took the car and had a bit of difficulty finding the place ( ok always have trouble with unknown roads without GPS :( ) .
Finally found it ...no parking ...that took another 10 mins .
Entered ... still skeptical - looks like a cross between a dhaba and modern hangout joint .climbed up a steep set of stairs …still having second thoughts .
The menu ....it was filled up with 2000+ items (….may be 200 ) .was still skeptical about this place .
Waiters came – wasn’t impressed ...
Thats when Kishore walks over - first thoughts ..big guy ..smooth talker ...
Smooth talker recommends the smoothie - thought that he is trying to push the sale but ordered anyways ... peach and apricot smoothie ( exotic experimentation ) .
Now the food - the wife orders the lasagna - asks for a bit of customization..extra jalapeneo's ..she knows my taste :). Sandwich - fully laoded of course - the value for money.
After about 20 mins --- the food came ...and it was awesome!!!: )
the highlights -
The smoothie extremely tasteful in every sip , care was taken to blend it to perfection - not too much ice beats the "Smoothie king" smoothie - and roughly half the dollars :)
the Jaljeera - again very fresh - fresh mint leaves and iced perfectly and tasty to the last drop
the sandwich - boy was it fully loaded - with 3 different meats each adding its own flavor - not too much mayo and the freshly baked bread - awesome is the right way to describe it
the lasagna - awesome repeats again - loaded with melting cheese and chicken beautifully blended with the inhouse lasagna sheets which added italian character to the dish and the jalapeno touch took it to the next level ..The texture and the flavor of the dish should be enjoyed by all the foodies out there
In all a mind blowing Italian food experience right here at thane ...Kolbad ..who would have known.

mindblowing food

This is my first review ever. I am too lazy to write a review. But the food at qishos made me write this. yesterday I was at qisho's for a quick brunch. Looking at the huge menu i got totally confused. There was kishore for my rescue. He suggested me with the best of the best cheese corn balls and quesadillas. Being a vegetarian I am very choosy about the restaurants I visit. I am disappointed at most places coz they have huge nonveg menu and just 1 or 2 in veg.
But the qisho's menu had ample variety for a Vegetarian like me as well.
This is the best place where you can find food from all around the world.
Now coming to the food, The cheese corn balls wer just melting in my mouth and the quesadillas ..... perfect.
I have been in thane for many many years and have visited mostly all the good restaurants in thane, but qisho's beats them all.
All in all a great experience. 3 thumbs up for qisho's. Great work Kishore.

Now that tagline to this review summarizes it all.. But yet I'll like to add my own experience to it..
I have been to Qisho's a couple of times and must say.. The food & service is amazinggggggggggg.... Simply too good to be true
Mexican and Italian are my fav... N qisho's makes sure that the dish served on the table will make the customer remember of the restaurant anytime he thinks about food.
The best lasagne I have had so far..Must try..
Qisho's surely puts Thane back in the league of places to hit when you want the best food to eat.. Great Job!!

Avant garde norriture!

You can tell when a food outlet exists purely to mint money or to delight everyone who walks in through the doors. Qishos, clearly, is the latter. The reviews on burrp piqued my curiosity and I was lucky to be in when Kishore was around, because the man makes all the difference.

I had a friend who was fasting today and I knew he'd customise the food to her requirements. We started off with the Jalapeno smoothie and the berry blast smoothie which were eye poppingly good. The Jalapeno smoothie and a sweet, cleansing effect on the tongue and a slight burning sensation when it got to the throat. Properly crazy stuff. I'd recommend it to you but I know a certain Mr. Kishore who will do a better job of persuading in you into trying his little experiment. And oh yes, do not forget the chocolate sauce to go with it. (psst.. it's got caramel)

Next up was a corn and mushroom lasagne. I have to admit, it was one of the better lasagnes I have had. Oozing rich parmesan, the vegetables were cooked perfectly, the seasoning was spot on and my friend broke her fast because she couldn't resist not having it.

Just as we were about to leave, Kishore surprised us with paan shots. It was essentially a deconstructed paan with a paan ice cream base. Laid out beautifully on a wooden board with 2 excellent paans, it was a bit like Jamie Oliver's rendition of what he'd do with a paan.

After that came the biggest shocker of my life. So much amazing food and a 600 buck bill. Push come to shove, I would have easily paid thrice the amount for the experience. But then, when you're on a mission to make people happy with the food, money probably is a distant secondary objective. I doff my hat to Kishore and his staff for bringing authentic Italian & Mexican to Thane.

P.S. Next time, I'm going to starve for a few days before heading here and take more people along so that I can experience more food.

must visit for some great comfort food!

Qisho's is probably one of those few restos that inspire you to put not one but two great reviews on a site like this! After a fantastic first experience and several order ins for takeaways, we sauntered in last weekend for a proper sit down meal. Only because Kishore keeps revisiting his lipsmacking menu and adds new stuff every so often. We were right about the new things on the menu!
We atarted off with the amazing Jalapeno smoothies!Safe to say that I have never had or even heard of a Jalapeno smoothie before. We werent quite sure as to what to expect..fiery Jalapeno in a smoothie? The drink promptly arrives with a meanie Jalapeno perched next to it. My first sip was a little furtive and then I was in love! The smoothie was sweet and this sweetness was cut off by the fiery Jalapenos that hit you right at the back of the throat. Every sip tickled all the notes in your taste buds. Soon the husband and I were fighting over the straw!
We got the Cheeseballs for the kiddo. Fried cheeseballs, stuffed with three different kinds of cheese..rich and gooey..cannot go wrong with that on! As usual, portions were huge and three of us ended up sharing the starter.
For the main course, I decided to go with the Fully Loaded Sandwich. The sandwich lived up to its name-"fully loaded". I was stuffed to the brim. The bread was freshly baked, lots of creamy cheese, bacon, meat..that was a supreme sandwich indeed!
The Lasagna was my husband's choice for the evening. Thats his favorite of the menu. Grilled chicken with mushroom. The tomatoe sauce had a lovely flavor with lots of herbs and spices. The cheese was perfect and the lasagna had that lovely golden crust with soft, al dente pasta sheets and lovely bites of chicken and cheese. Perfect comfort food as always!
By now, we were so full we could barely move! But could not stay away from the Paan shooters. Best described as a deconstructed mitha paan, thesee little shooters are seriously yummy and a fabulous way to finish the meal! Must try and definitely the second most exciting new thing on the menu (after the Jalapeno smoothie which really did steal my heart!!).
Two thumbs up for Qisho's. Definitely the home for deli style, comfort food in Thane!

LOTTSA LOVE
Kishore @ Qisho's

A Must Visit for every Food Lover..!

A Treasure is always found in the most unlikeliest of places. Qisho’s to happens to be just one of them as far as exotic cuisine is concerned for an avid lover of food. I was told about this place by my bro, and had high expectations and let me tell you Qisho’s certainly stood up to it and in fact exceeded my expectations.

Everything starting from the ambience to the Owner and Chef “Kishore” and everythin that he served us was truly an out of the world experience and the taste and aroma still lingers, making me carving for more.
Kishore too was as excited as we were. He was more of a Host then a restaurant Owner or a chef, which got us connected instantaneously. When the delicacies were being presented at the table he did go on to explain the details of each and every dish, along with taking our opinions too. He also asked us as wot we wanted as per choice of our preferences of dishes appealing to our taste buds, and trust me folks he certainly did nailed it, more like "Bulls EYE" thing.
The Pork chops was just juicy and tender, the truth is I decided just by the aroma of it—meaty, fatty, sweet, sharp, and soulful—not to mention the look of it on the plate, so plump and glistening.
The Focaccia Sandwich is still fresh in my memories and so is the The Bacon wrapped fish, Lasagna and the Quesadillas..
The Pirate eye mushrooms were just Yummmss……..
The Jalapeno Smoothie was sumthin I had it for the first time and dat wud always be one of my regular orders forever at Qisho's.
We also got sumthin really special from Kishore that evening, a whole chicken that was cooked wrapped in clay for the first time @ Qisho's and boy it was mouth watering, we still got to name the dish but I guess Kishore wud certainly comeup with sumthing catchy.
The desert was homely, decidedly unfancy, rich and flavorful. They were sweet but not too much. They were direct and true to their ingredients.

I certainly would give Qisho’s a 10/10 on the food part. I’d recommend each and every food lover to certainly visit Qisho’s for great Food.

Delicious food and a lovely experience!

Qishos, the nondescript place located in the a quiet corner of Thane, is a wonderful eatery with some really yum freshly cooked food. The place has got a nice homey feel to it. The chef/owner is completely hands-on and makes sure you have an amazing eating experience. Absolute must-visit for any reason, any season :)

Foodies … ‘Rejoice’ … Thane is blessed.

This review intends to reach out to all food lovers, whether you are based in Thane or in Mumbai. For Mumbaikars, especially if you are close to Thane, you wouldn’t want to miss this one.

Warning: This blink-and-miss restaurant near Pratap cinema, Kolbad, may be a little difficult to spot. I strongly suggest you keep your eyes wide open and avoid blinking when you pass that way, lest you miss Thane’s food haven.

Very often (and very sadly indeed), in terms of food, Thane is considered to be Mumbai’s poor neighbor. Renowned eateries fear to tread (you can literally count them on your finger’s). The not so prominent ones serve the one-dimensional Indian fare. The so called specialty restaurants serve average, 'authentic' .. "modified for the Indian palate" international cuisine :-) ... and then there are those that border on the ridiculous (I had a restaurant serve me pasta cooked in coconut oil … still get the jitters when I think of it).

As a result, Thaneites are forced to eat what they get, forced to like what they eat, forced to believe what they get is authentic or simply travel to Mumbai to get what they like. I say this with experience, as a hard core foodie. Out of more than 140 restaurants that I have had food from, barely a few are based in Thane.

I can proudly state that Qisho’s has changed equations and raised the bar several notches.

Thane needed a Qisho's and deserves it.

When I first got hold of the menu on the net, I said to me ... “Whom are these guys kidding?” A restaurant that serves Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Mughlai, Punjabi, Tandoori, Goan and Aagri from one kitchen? ... No way!! ... Another fly-by-night operator with sub standard fare.

Today, as I write this, I have ordered in at least a dozen times, different cuisines each time, and I’ll keep going for more.

My first experience with Qisho’s was a conversation with the owner-cum-executive chef ‘Kishore’. I wanted to order in, and wanted suggestions from him. What struck me immediately was that I was dealing with a professional. Apart from being his business, Kishore came across as someone who has worked with different cuisines, had a good knowledge of each one of them, and most importantly loved dealing with food.

A highlight of having food from here is that Kishore actively interacts with his Customer’s, understands their likings and recommends dishes accordingly. You can define your spice levels and also tweak a few ingredients. Now that’s customization for you!! And at extremely affordable prices.

The portions per dish are generous.

In terms of Value for Money (VFM), for Italian and Mexican cuisine, this restaurant, as deduced from my formulae ((Quality, Authenticity, Quantity, Ease of availabilty), divided by price)) ... is at par, or even better than the more renowned eateries.

I base my theory from restaurants that I have visited or ordered in, and compare Qisho's to... Spaghetti Kitchen, Cafe Mangii, Mia Cucina or Fratelli Fresh (Italian). Quattro (Italian and Mexican), Casa Mexicana, Sanchos, Sammy Sosa or Escobar (Mexican).

The restaurant also offers a wide range of vegetarian cuisine, so you do not have to ‘pick’ your partner to visit.

I won’t comment on the ambiance and the dine-in service, as I haven’t got a chance to experience that. However, every single dish that I have ordered has been of a very high standard and exceeded expectations.

The standard of home delivery is very high. Everything that you order is delivered hot in a huge square heating box. The individual food boxes are taped tight, ensuring no messy leaks. The delivery staff have been trained and are very courteous. In fact, they also carry with them returnable change, so you need not worry about keeping exact change ready. Very professional indeed.

In a nutshell, Qisho’s stands out from the other restaurants in Thane and Mumbai, due to:
• Range of authentic cuisines offered
• Quality and eye for details
• Reasonable pricing, Huge portions, great value for money
• Highly knowledgeable and motivated owner - cum -chef.
• Courteous staff

Although I would love to comment on each dish individually, I’ll leave that to Rashmi Uday Singh (Times Good Food Guide), "BBC Good Food India" and the rest of the food critics. However, I’ll list down my favorites and must-try dishes.

Focaccia Sandwiches:
Fully Loaded (Sausage, Salami, Ham & Bacon with roasted garlic)
Chicken Jalapeno

Salads:
Charcuterie salad

Appetizers:
Chicken Cheese Corn Balls (All time favorite)
Basil Pepperoni & Mushroom Bruschetta (works as a main course too)

Rice:
Roasted garlic rice (great with any mains)
Kheema rice.

Mains:
Spaghetti Meatball Bolognese (customized with meatballs)
Grilled Chicken & Mushroom Lasagne
Crispy Taco with Ham and Bacon
Ham, Bacon, Sausage, Salami in creamy chilly garlic sauce
Pork Sorpatel (on prior order)
Pork Vindaloo (on prior order)
Mutton Paya (Tender and juicy)
Aagri Mutton Lapeta (reduced spice)

Finally ... Thank you Kishore for giving us foodies such delicious options in the comfort of our vicinity. There’s a lot more that I need to explore at your place, and you can count on me to keep calling you :-). I also hope this marks the beginning of a food revolution in Thane, for which you can be proud to have pioneered. Keep up the good work!

Regards

Truly worth 5 star & more.....

I am not much into writing reviews, but I can surely make out good food from bad food. Qisho's definitely serves the best food, not to mention the personalized touch from owner & chef Kishore.
I had a get together at home & ordered the main course from Qisho's. Fortunately, I got Kishore on the line, while taking the order, he asked me if I needed any starters, to which I said that I have already purchased some readymade stuff from the market. Kishore was sweet enough to send a couple of complimentary veg. starters for my party. Moreover, the starters came in first, just in time, piping hot, for the beginning of the party & the main course later, again piping hot, in a second delivery. Both, the veg starters, cheese corn balls & the nachos were excellent & the dips accompanying them, out of the world. The main course had all of us licking our fingers(and plates).
Kishore, I will be visiting the restaurant very soon, with family & friends to try out more from your menu of 900+ dishes.
And, people who criticize or find faults with Qisho's , either don't understand what good food & service is all about, or have nothing better to do.
Kishore, just ignore these ignorant fools & move on. You are doing an excellent job & there's no stopping you. Way to go bro!!!

SPEECHLESS

I had been to Qisho's World Cuisine for the first time today (only to Qisho's for the first time but I have had food made by Kishore (manager/owner/cook) many times before), and I think any reviews below 5/5 stars are not fare to Qisho's, because all the negative things that have been mentioned, I don't think its ever possibly might have happened or will ever happen at Qisho's. I had 1 Chicken lasagna, 1 Chinese Pizza (which I think is a very innovative idea), 1 kiwi smoothie, 1 pan shots (which I think is very innovative as well as tasty), 1 Chocolate Ice Tea and all of this was very affordable to me along with that no compromise in quality. I had all of this around 4 P.M., right now its 12:11 A.M and I don't think i'm going to have anything else till tomorrow. I think the staff were highly knowledgeable about the menu as well as the food (for example I was confused how the Chinese pizza was made so I asked 1 of the waiters that what are the ingredients, he explained me the the complete ingredients). Burrp didn't have more than 5 stars, so I'm sorry that's the max I can give you.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience for me being there for 1st time. I feel all the below comments are not real and on the basis of them I went there having great hopes.
Waiter not aware of the menu.. Many things not available whatever we wanted as the man who makes it was not there. Finally we ordered chcicken chunks with creamy chilli garlic sauce. Pathetic as chicken was not cooked properly and it was raw and too chewy. Too add to it there was a power cut with no back up. Finally we cancelled our order and left there. They call it world cuisine but rarely offer anything on table, just present in menu. Photos seems to be rigged. Ambience is not as portrayed here. As earlier the owner wont agree to me but guys if you dont want such a terrific experience like me please avoid it. Its not fine dining or no music at all. Its like cheating public..

Difficult to describe the experience, only because i cant get enough of this place every time I visit. To be honest have only been there twice. But i did not repeat a single dish the second time when i went. Believe me you, even you go there the 50th time you might not want to repeat the dish you had previous time. I guess 99% of us to a particular restaurant cause you like a particular cuisine they serve or one of the preparation is fancied your liking. But i would rather prefer putting myself in the remainder 1% who like to experiment with what they eat every time they go out. Trust me not every time its a good idea. But that's where Qisho's get high ranking in my books. I had 7 different preparations in my past 2 visits and none disappointed me!!! Trust me that is very rare. The first time i went cause of a friend of mine as he mentioned it as a place where you can add meat to anything you are eating and trust me its true. The menu is so vast that you might lost in the names of the dishes served. But that is where or savior Kishor (owner/host) comes in. Recommending something completely out of the vast menu he has taken all the effort to write and print. But his out of the menu recommendations and most recommended by me. Had one of the best Lasagna eating experience in a long time. The nachos with cheese were perfect with the crunch and ample cheese to go with it, the pizza had the perfect crust with ample pepperoni and cheese, so was the quesadilla crunchy and oozing with superbly smoked chicken. Everything Kishor serves on the table has a reason or story behind it. So be ready to hear stories of the how the exotic veggies and meats land on your plate, and be ready to taste complimentary entrees and drinks that might be very seasonal and rare to find anywhere else e.g Jalapeno Smoothie. All in all i am visiting this place over and over again and going to try different things every time, cause i know i wont be disappointed ever. I am glad such a place opened in Thane.

HI ,Thanx for writing in.Thank you for complimenting us about the menu and the reviews we have painstakingly earned .
NO ,WE DO NOT SERVE ALCOHOL, WE DONT HAVE A LIQUOR PERMIT .
we would have loved to, but the place is too small (30 PAX .)to serve alcohol , we contemplated the same but we decided against it,cos it aint a financially viable propostion.Maybe when we shift to a bigger place , we will , but not at the current location . let this place be known for its food rather than its collection of exotic beers & single malts .

pasta in white sauce please think again!!!

i have been this place with great expectation after reading various review'e but honestly saying it failed me, i had ordered for pene in white sauce my favrat item which i used to eat at bandra but when i test it, it was like hell, sauce was like thick pest of flour(may be not using good quality of cream) totally uncooked & raw form of sauce as well as the pasta, i couldn't eat more than two spoon, i asked them to replace it they did but the result was same it was testing like yaks, i think i may not come the place again.....

One visit is not enough!

I am not a person who usually writes reviews, in fact this is my first review, but this time, I couldn’t stop but write one. It was my second visit at Qisho's and the experience was as usual, great!

I had planned to order crisp tacos and quesadillas beforehand. But Kishorbhai wasn’t in the restaurant and to kill some time, until his arrival, we ordered french fries. When Kishorbhai came, he gave us his version of french fries which were tossed in cheese sauce with three other dips, followed by grilled chicken tacos.. which were fresh and crisp as ever... then followed d quesadillas which were.. trust me... heavenly. The side sauces and salsa made a perfect blend of flavours.

My fiancé wanted to try Agri food and therefore we ordered chicken lapeta and bhakri. Kishorbhai asked us his standard question, "on the scale on 1 to 10 how spicy do you want it?". The flavours were so rich and heavy... the bhakri was thin and soft and it balanced the rich flavours of chicken.

I was feeling almost full when he came up with another dish (we didn’t order anything after chicken and bhakri... everything else after that was on the house).. it was 'khadichya kolbya' (fried prawns in dry masala).. it was awesomely spicy and a delight to eat..

I decided to take a break for 5 mins when Kishorbhai came up with 'pan liquor shots' which was Kishorbhai’s own concoction... I seriously have nooo words for that! I simply kept giggling. I had two of those awesome shots and then came 'chocolate liquor shots', first one was milder than second one.... OMG!!! it kicked all the right parts in the heart and brain!!!!

After that we tried to rush down before he could come up with a new dish as we were more than full. :-)

For all this and a parcel of chicken lapeta and bhakri, Kishorbhai charged us just 750 bucks!!!

P.S.: Kishorbhai, please charge the actual amount of the dishes and not less than that. I respect your food and I respect your passion a lot, but please charge what the dish is worthy of. I feel like I'm robbing you for food this delicious!! It always is and will be a pleasure to meet you.

Fantastic!

So this place is really great. We had Quesadillas with Chicken, Cheese balls with bacon in which the oregano does a great job. The ham and bacon lasagna and the pizza roll with BBQ chicken and mushrooms were both superb with generous servings, plenty of freshly made mozarella cheese (Qisho's makes all ingredients themselves) and great flavour.
For accompaniment try the Jalapeno Smoothie, sweet drink with the chilli then heating your sinuses.

The experience is augmented by Kishore's (owner) excellent hosting and recommendations. His passion for food is obvious and it feels great to appreciate his dream by eating his food with great relish, because it is THAT good.

Delicious Food. Great Prices. Excellent Chef.

I happened to eat at Qisho's by accident. No regrets since the food and Kishore, the Chef is going to keep me coming back for more.
Though the menu is very vast and way too cluttered; Kishore is of great help. Since he personally takes the order, he made some very good suggestions keeping in mind what we actually wanted to eat. He is open to modifying his dish if he feels that's what will suit your palette the best. (5 stars for his people-skills)
We tried out the Mexican and Italian. And it was yum. Generous portions, fresh ingredients and well balanced flavours. The surprise was the Aagri Chicken Lapeta (Kishore's speciality) and the very juicy and tender Tandoori Chicken.
Definitely a must visit for all who enjoy good food.

Best Continental Food in Thane

I have ordered food from Qisho's a few times before my visit last night and found the food quite promising, although, the best way to experience and enjoy the gastronomical wonders that Chef Kishore can dish out is by visiting the restaurant in person !

On entering, you may wonder whether they will live out their reputation for great food, let me put all those fears to rest, YOU WILL BE AMAZED!

Kishore makes you feel welcome from your very entry, his suggestions are worth taking and his descriptions make you salivate! His options to customize your order also is a great touch to make you feel just that little more privileged and his ability to mix and match the best ingredients will show once the dish hits your pallet !

I and my friend had tried the Lasagna (Ham + Bacon + Pepperoni + Bell Pepper and Mushrooms) .... one word .... AWESOME! We went out to try two exotic rice dishes, a mushroom rice with grilled chicken in Paprika sauce ,... which was great but we were truly blown away with the Ham Bacon Sausage and Pepperoni Roasted Garlic Rice in Creamy Pepper Sauce... this is A DEFINITE MUST TRY.

You must have these dishes hot else they will tend to become thick. But there is nothing I can find fault in Kisore's dishes and RECOMMEND this place to anyone who loves Continental Food!!

Kishore, Please do keep the quality going!! I'll be back soon try and sample even more dishes from that enormously large menu you have!!

Heaven has decended upon Thane

Im 2days late to review this place.. All becoz of Kishore…. I mean it really… I thought I’d come home n write.. bt thanks to the amazing Food and the open heart of Kishore I was left with a big kick of amazing food that I jst ate here… I was told abt this place by my friend and had heard a lot and read even more abt it.. So had to give it a try.. My expectations were high and to start off.. I wasn’t dissapointed a bit.. infact I was surprised that its way above of what I expected it to be..

Really I don’t knw frm where to start.. 1st of all the Menu is sooo vast it tuk me 20mins to reach page 3. And the menu is loaded.. you for sure wil forget the item u liked on page 1 by the time u reach page 3.. Happened with me.. Bt the food u get here is jst too good to be true..This place wil leave u speachless and if u really appreciate good food and love food.. Trust me to my word when I said this… “Heaven has decended upon Thane”.

I almst had tears in my eye by the end of the meal.. Coz I myslf want to 1 day for sure have a place where I serve my food to the ppl & knwin kishore has been 1 of the most awsum experience of my year so far…

To talk abt the food.. I regret coming here with half full stomach.. Thanks to my Mom..

1stly the Grilled Chicken Quesedilla was jst so wonderful to eat.. that I was left baffeld that how could a humble chicken be soo darn good.. The chicken was soo perfectly moist that it wud jst melt in the mouth.. the taste of the of chicken was soo good that it makes u wonder how on earth is this possible.. I hav had Quesedilla’s at many places.. bt this is by miles far the best I can imagine… and was served 3 dips.. where n who does that.. I Love this the most..

Then then Bruschetta.. Really again wht can I say..it was soo light and appitaising that I cud devaour atlest 4-5 plates of this beauty.. With the beautiful crunch on top and a soft center its jst tooo good. Best part is we were told that the Mozzarella and Ricotta cheese are made by the Chef/Owner Kishore himself..

Then came possibly the best and the most amazing thing of the nite… The Jalapeno smoothie.

I was asked by my Friend who took me there to try this 1 for sure… I wasn’t sure if it was gonna be good bt trust me, its Seriously a brilliant and a real must try for each 1 of you guys who go here.. I soo really fell in love with this.. I never imagined myslf liking this.. I mean its wht u never want your smoothie to do. For the 1st time I can use the words “Hot” and “ taste good” in the same sentence when I talk about a Smootie... Kishore has done it jst soo brilliantly.. Its gt the perfect sweetness with the last minute kick that it gives back after every sip is jst unexplanable.. U have to try this to belive it.. Jst make sure u tel to make it hot to get the real taste and fun of this smootie..

Then we ordered the chicken Cheese corn balls.. I was jst blown away by the taste of this.. Loved the dip served along with this too… It was heavy so I didn’t wanted to fill up on those so kept it till last and thought I’d eat it last.. bt the rest of the dishes that followed was soo good that I had to doggy bag it back home later..

Then finally since I was already half full before entering this place we decided to order the Mains.. for which I cudnt look beyond the Lasagne.. That’s coz I love cheese… N we were recommended to try Mushroom and chicken.. and when this came and when I had the 1st spoonfull of lasagne all I did was.. keep the spoon back on the plate.. sit back and jst enjoy the taste of this perfectly cooked beauty.. I was jst having for the 1st time a food orgasm…lol… I then went ahead and fished for the chicken pieces frm the lasagne.. truth be told every single thing on that plate had its own taste.. be it the chicken the pasta sheets n the cheese or the sause.. I cud taste everythig so perfeclty.. all was cooked so perfectly.. I cudnt think of a perfect slice of this I ever had.. I thought the pasta sheets were out frm a pack of Barilla.. Bt I was told by kishore that its made from scratch.. that’s when I started to realise..that not 1 dish served was jst bad… or Ok.. all were goood and some were jst awsum like the Jalapeno Smoothie..the Grilled Chicken Quesedilla and the Lasagne…and my personal fav the “Pairate eye Mushroom.” That is mentioned below..

Then there was a dish still in the making that Kishore served us.. It was an off the menu dish and off the bill item too… Its not yet been named or on the menu bt for now Kishore calls it the Nice Mushrooms… I was much obliged to try that.. and it looked like a bland mushroom bud top with some garlic and cheese on top.. baked together…. BUT….. I swear to God.. it was like a nuclear Bomb the moment it hit my mouth.. I till that date never knew and I quote this..”That I have so many taste buds in my mouth.." each and every single one of it was awake and it felt like I was tased from a taser gun.. It was freaking awsum.. That infact shud be the 1st thing u ever order here.. it jst builds up ur appitite.. Left me salivating for a long time and with each and every single 1 of those mushrooms sooo good.. that I bet no1 can hav the 1st one with both their eyes open.. Its sour and its jst amazing dish… I’d like to name it “The pairate eye Mushroom” in Bracket (Mushrooms that wil make u wink at ur partner/friend 100%… and it wud be a chef speciall)… Coz for sure u gonna close an eye 1ce u eat 1 of this.. IT’S A MUST MUST MUST MUST MUUUSSSST TRY………!!!!! PLzzzzzzzz

My friend told me the Nacho’s here are real good.. So when we were talking abt it with Kishore he offered to make some nacho’s that’s off the bill again.. And when it came I was really really surprised.. how good and tasty it was.. The Nachos too were made by Kishore himself.. those were jst perfect and thin that it was a treat to my tasting palette. Those were so fresh and crisp tasted way better than any other I hav eaten so far.. and The off bill items did not stop there.. As I said im a Lover of Cheese and Potatoes Kishore made me try his mashed potatoes.. I was in love with the food.. It was perfectly seasoned.. bt jst a bit too thick.. a dash of milk wud be jst perfct to make it light and fluffy.. bt the taste was jst too good.. I was full rite upto my neck bt cudnt say no the the mash so I sat for a while longer and finished that too.. it was a small portion bt worth finishin it off.. I cud hav licked off the plate if I was at my own home..

At the end of it all and Above all there is Kishore himself a really humble, honest and a gr8 person to talk to, who knws what food is and finds love and happiness making gr8 food without cutting marjins like most places do.. Trust me everythin served here wud n can never be the same if its not for the Man behind all this.. The way I’d like to put him as the most honest and pleasntly plump chef and above all a real gem of a human..

(This part is for ppl who love cooking and talking abt food…) I love food and I find peace and stressfree when im in the kitchen… and When kishore talks about food u knw its for real and u want to hear more.. Its heartwarming to hear that and more over u fell like u can and want to do good in the kitchen… Atleast that’s what I felt.. It’s the 1st time that I have met a person for the 1st time in my life and felt soo good and happy by the end of the day.. Food has always moved me.. And im more than happy knowing Me and kishore speak the same language… and that is of Food…

By the end of the meal I was a very Happy man with my stomach & heart both full and I myslf was left a lot emotional.. I hav edited this review a few times before posting coz I felt it was a bit too emotional.. coz that’s wht his food did to me..

Above all to the food that we had all were soo darn reasonable that I was wonderin how on eath cud it be… Any other place, the same food with half the taste and quality be be 3times the rate here..

All in all a Zillion star for the Foood and my Fav Chef.. Kishore… You rock my world… and in my world. Chef’s are the God..

Seriously the effort and love he puts in his food is what u get to see and taste on every single dishes served here.. I wud say Don’t come with a preset menu on ur mind for the 1st time.. Let Kishore be ur host and let him serve You.. all u have to tel Kishore your choice of food… as in ur tasting palette/spicy food preference/what u like and dont.. Im 100% sure you wont be dissapointed..

I’d jst end this sayin thanks to you Mr. Kishore for the amazing food experience and the knowledge u shared with me.. So far havnt met a chef like u in person.. Thanks for that and as my friend said.. Plz don’t open a branch anywhere else coz it ain’t gonna be the same without you.. If u do move frm Thane.. Move competly.. Till then I’ll always be there as a regular frm nw on.. Though the travel is a bitch frm Andheri – to– Thane.. Bt I’ll be there for sure..

With Warm and heartfelt Regards,
Ramesh Raveendran.

One of the best places to eat in Thane...

One thing I should always remember is never make an impression of a place only when you see the exterior and the menu card. I had my initial inhibitions. However, it reminded me of the scene from Ratatouille, where you are automatically transported to a different land as soon as the food hits your mouth. These guys are generous with their portions and their ingredients. The proprietor, Kishore Talreja, really knows his food and it was the first time when someone actually dissuaded me from ordering something as he said the flavours would clash very badly and would ruin the entire eating experience. Very rarely do you come across someone who knows his entire menu and just does not suggest to you the most expensive item on the menu as the "SPECIAL". Can't wait to go back to this place...again and again!!! If you are reading this, i suggest you have your next meal here without any hesitation! Deserves every star i give it.

Food Lover’s Paradise

It’s indeed very rare that you are able to find a restaurant which hits all the right spots. Quisho's is one such hidden find. The place is small but who cares as long as they serve food so great!

Me and my girlfriend decided to visit this place after reading loads and loads of great reviews on Burrp! and let me tell you this, it surpassed all expectations!

The highlight of our visit was Mr. Kishore, the owner/chef of this hidden gem. He is such a sweet person to recommend various dishes and give us personal attention.

We were there for the Mexican food so we ordered the nachos with beans and cheese, enchiladas with grilled chicken. We also ordered the bruschetta with olives and jalapenos and the Mexican chicken wings. Mr. Kishore tried to convince us to have their cheese corn chicken balls if we liked cheese, which were his own creation but we refused saying we would rather have the enchiladas. He also asked us if we were adventurous we must try their Jalapeno smoothie with was off the menu but he assured us it was a hit and we should give it a shot if we can handle the heat. So we agreed.

He served us the smoothie first which was Amazing! With every sip it was sweet at first and then you would get the kick of the heat from the jalapenos. It really set our taste buds tingling for more. Mr. Kishore was sweet enough to offer us some chocolate sticks if we couldn’t handle the heat but they were left untouched.

We had the nachos next. Mr. Kishore told us they made the chips themselves and indeed the chips were fresh, crispy and perfect. The flavor of the toppings was great. One tiny criticism would be that the quantity of cheese was less and it needs to be more of a liquid and should not solidify while eating. I think fresh milk to the cheese does the trick?

Then we had the bruschettas which blew us away. The bread had the perfect crust and was so very soft in the middle. The toppings were fresh and the cheese was oh so delicious!

We were in the middle of the meal when he surprised us by giving us the cheese corn balls anyway free of charge. And mind you they were heavenly!! Crisp and golden on the outside and filled with gooey soft centers and packed with flavor.

With each dish our experience was getting better and better. Could this be true? We were hungry for more!

We were served the enchiladas next. Oh how delicious they were! Covered with lots of cheese and yummy sauce and the grilled chicken was really soft and perfectly cooked. The whole dish was flavorful.

We had overheard Mr. Kishore telling some other customer that he had to leave as he was invited to judge some cooking contest and was late and so he left us.
Some time passed as we were enjoying our enchiladas when we wondered if he actually left or was still making sure we got our final dish.

And surely, back was Mr. Kishore with our chicken wings even when he was very late. We couldn't thank him enough for the delicious food and service. We said our goodbyes and continued with the chicken wings.

The chicken wings were the best we've had. The sauce was sticky goodness, perfectly spicy and delicious.

Let me tell you, food this good makes people like me very emotional and want to give the chef a big hug!!!

The check was accompanied with some homemade chocolates. Damage done: Rs.995

Also, we commend you, Mr. Kishore, for taking the extra effort of climbing that steep staircase of yours to serve us each item personally.

Overall, one of the best dining experience we have had. I mean, where else would you get such kind of service at down to earth prices??

Dear Mr. Kishore,
Thank you for the amazing experience. may you keep satisfying hungry souls with your delicious food forever.
And please do not open any branches like people are suggesting as they won’t be the same without your personal presence which makes the dining experience special.

Cheers!

Mexican food in Thane

right on the dot!! Qisho's World Cuisine was exactly what all the Burrp reviews said, "Fantastic Mexican Food" with a difference because of Kishore and it just re-enforces my belief that Best Food is available in the most Unassuming places.

Thanks Kishor, i am coming back for more and rest assured that I will tell my freinds about the same.

Awesome food

I had read the reviews earlier on burps and put it to test with my family.so I visited qishos in person with family and was not disappointed. The food were freshly served with the owner himself talking so much interest and gave us personnel attention which is a rare thing these days to experience.
The quality and the freshness of the food served was amazing and too good to be true.
The music was soothing while we walloped all the dishes from his huge set of menu.
Must try the starts quisedilla, cheese and corn balls and tacos. Yummy.yummy.
The bonus is the pricing of the dishes which is very reasonable. Wish I had known this place earlier. Thanks to kishoree for introducing such awesome menu to thaneites.
Suggest he opens up in hiranandani estate at Godbunder road with good frontage.
I highly recommend friend all overto try his magical food.
Way to go kishore and we had a wonderful day in qishos

Thank God for Qisho's!

Having recently moved to Thane, I was just a tad dejected due to the lack of good eateries around, All that's a thing of the past now as I have recently discovered this dainty little place with a menu & quality of food that can give most fine dine restaurants in Thane a run for their money.

Qisho's is this really kool restaurant with a wide and I mean 'WIDE' array of dishes, the only thing bigger than their menu are the food portions and the levels of customer service, more so as the owner Kishore is personally involved right from recommendations to order taking and off course the food preparation itself.

On our 1st visit we ordered the following dishes politely recommended by Kishore himself.

Chicken Quesadillas - Amazingly fresh, lip smacking good, huge portions, served with a variety of sauces with a burst of different flavors in each bite.

Grilled Chicken & Mushroom lasagne - it doesn't come any better than this & I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is! I can safely say I haven't eaten a better lasagne even in Italy! ( If I sound exaggerated...go ahead and try it for yourself!)

I have called for home delivery twice after my 1st visit just a fortnight ago and on both occasions I wasn't disappointed with the consistency and quality of food. Although I do think there is little emphasis on desserts & Drinks in the menu, but than why would you complain when Kishore conjures up either of these upon your fancies!

I wish Qisho's all the best in their culinary adventures ( Yes that's what the ride feels like...An adventure!) and I can only hope Kishore opens an outlet somewhere near GB road in Thane ( I hope your'e hearing!)...cheers!

Foodies Delight, and how!

Describing this place is a bit difficult. Its quietly tucked away in khopat, opposite and ahead of pratap cinema. But when you walk in and see the menu (about 300+ items!), and proceed to taste it, there's nothing quiet about it. Its a food lovers delight!

Ive had the best chimmi changas ever, and more here. The menu covers everything from itlaian, mexican, sri lankan, and even agri (a maharashtrian sect) food!

Usually Kishore, the owner is around helping you narrow down from the massive menu to what would catch your fancy. Having tasted chimmi changas, sri lankan kottu and paya soups, am gonna be back to explore more. Qishos also home delivers in and around Thane, have to try that next.

The prices are quite good too. Similar quantities / quality of food at these prices is quite a delight in itself.

The place is neat and there's a mix of old 80s music and jazz. Quite surprising and pleasant for a smaller joint

All in all, loved to have found this place, a one stop excellent shop for food lovers in thane (& beyond)

The good part is, I dont know these guys have not met them but the empathy that they showed to me over the phone is again - Awesome!! Thanks Kishore, meal was awesome, the agari chicken and the rice bakhri's were really good too..

Customer Service at its best..

Food, simply awesome.

Ps. Review isn't complete, planning to visit soon to try out more food and shall write up a complete review.. I usually write a review when the food is either really good or really bad.. In this case, it was really really good and had to mention..

Thane is blessed with Qisho's

Such a good food experience...all thanks to the owner and chef - Kishore...went there with my brother for some catching up after a long week. We ordered chicken cheese nachos, chef's creation - yummy cheese corn balls with chicken, chilly champ chicken pizza...and everything was much more than we expected - in terms of portions and flavors. The food was lip-smacking and my last note _ Kishore not only your cuisine but your service is also WORLD CLASS...all the best!!! Qisho's rocks.

Customer Delight + Awsm Food- The Deadliest Combo

Kishore Talreja(Owner) for me symbolises the perfect combination of passion, enthusiasm and culinary expertise coming together. The moment we stepped inside Qisho's it felt like we have come to visit a long lost friend and not in a restaurant. The passion with which he conducts his venture is exemplary both in terms of food as well as customer service and that for me is the HIGHLIGHT of Qisho's.

A little background -We had the Mexican Non Veg Platter at Big Daddy's Khar 2-3 years back and a friend of mine (ally4all) wanted more of it. Kishore had prepared the platter and served us that day and hence my friend always wanted to have the platter once again.Thankfully she came to know that Kishore had started his own venture -Qisho's in Thane and hence we travelled many a mile to savour the Non veg extravaganza as it was time for an encore.

Now back to the review for Qishos.
The hospitality and the food was mindblowing with dishes arriving at our table at a feverish pace. All the dishes were very good especially the Chicken Garlic Cheese Quesadilla... it was just out of the world. I enjoyed all the food items and I would have enjoyed them much more if i was served them when there was some fresh space left in my stomach.

The taquitos, nachos, chimichanga, the pineaple smoothie, the cheese corn balls, the chicken and cheese taco, all of these items were good and were being served to us akin to a royal buffet for a King and Queen and thats the Non Veg Mexican food platter in true Qisho Style-King Size. No points for guessing our stomach was full to the brim and we could barely get up.But Kishore's enthusiasm for serving the best of his dishes was so infectious but we just couldnt resist not enjoying the delicacies.

Only points for improvement would be the chicken in the Caesar salad was a bit chewy and I found the mexican pizza bland for my palate.Anyways such minor glitches should not take away anything from the amazing hospitality provided to us by Kishore. He also made a a sweet dish called Satpura which is a Sindhi specialty which was splendid to say the least which gave a "sweet" culmination to our superb epicurean evening.

All in all an outstanding experience at Qishos couldnt have asked for more. The passion for food that Kishore possesses is just in one word LEGEN-DARY as the iconic Barney Stinson (from the sitcom How I met your Mother) would say it.

PS:For a detailed review of the dishes please refer to ally4all review written on the 2012-08-28 as she was my partner in crime.

Qisho's-a platter of gourmet delight!

So finally after searching heaven and hell for the non-veg mexican platter that I was so craving for, since I had a tryst with it at Big Daddy, Khar, the promise that Kishore made to me was put to test on Friday evening. I had gone there with the mind-set of dining in a restaurant, but was highly disappointed as there was no such service provide that would make me rave about it as a restaurant. Instead, it was like coming back to a friend I haven’t seen in a very long time and who has spend hours making preparations for my arrival.
The interiors are Arabian Night style, and though the place is relatively small...as they say-it is the heart that should be big. And the owner of this Food Heaven has a mighty big one!
I made a 50 km journey to Qisho’s and there is not a bit of effort that I regret in making this tiring trip. Located amidst a row of eateries and restaurants, this small joint stands out for its inspiring world cuisine and service. Though I didn’t have to look at the menu, since I had placed an order for a non-veg platter a day before (as requested by Kishore), I still gave it a glance. The menu is so exhaustive that one may finish a meal in the time you read up all the dishes on the menu.
No sooner than we were comfortably seated, the dishes started arriving like a King & Queen are treated on their royal throne with delicacies to please their taste-buds, one after the other.
To begin with, we were served Nachos with chicken and cheese (lovely sauce with extremely fresh and crunchy nachos and soft & generous portion of chicken – 5/5),
followed by Chicken Caesar Salad (delicious dressing, well seasoned chicken and fresh lettuce - 4/5 … as I am not a fan of peppers),
followed by taquitos (hope I have got the name right Kishore. The outer cover of the taquito was absolutely soft and melt in your mouth with chunks of chicken filling – 5/5),
followed by Quesadillas (a dish that is an absolute favorite amongst the patrons and new diners, and the first bite of the Quesadilla will tell you why. The ooziness of the cheese and the perfectly seasoned filling of chicken that is not chewy puts you on cloud 9 – 6/5)
followed by a Chicken and cheese taco ( I am having a hard time remembering all of what we had…the taco was everything that you would want it to be – 5/5)
followed by a Pineapple smoothie (another one of their hot selling items…it is so smooth and delicious that you can never be full enough to not gulp down one of them – 5/5)
by now, our stomachs were sending the signal of over-eating, but our taste buds were in no mood to pay attention to them
and thus followed the Chimichange, and then the Chunky Mexican non veg pizza. (given the usual circumstances, it would all have gone for parcel…but one bite of each and we couldn’t resist demolishing the entire thing – 5/5)
As if it wasn’t overeating enough, Kishore lured us into the cheese corn balls (and I swear to the Gods of good food, that God alone knows that only something as delicious, soft, cheesy and crunchy could have made way to our overly over-stuffed stomach – 6/5)….Thank you for forcing us into it~
And then comes the epic and sweet conclusion to this Maha Fiesta….the special sweet dish that Kishore had especially prepared off the menu. Pardon me for not able to recollect the name…but can I tell you, it is one of the best desserts I have had (and I don’t have a sweet tooth at all – 5/5)
Now you may ask how much did I pay for the extravagant gourmet delight….that I will leave up to you to go and figure from Kishore…
At Qisho’s I didn’t just fulfil the craving of a non veg mexican platter, but what I witnessed there was the Atithi Devo Bhava gesture and heartfelt cooking.
I wish Kishore with my heart all the success that this food connoisseur deserves and no matter how far it is…I am coming back to trouble sooner than you expect!

Do you still serve the non-veg platter

Hi Kishore. We have dined a couple of times at Big Daddy and I remember you recommending a non-veg platter on my first visit. It is definitely the best encounter I've had with Mexican food. Though I stay in the tail end of Western Suburbs, I would love to Try food at your new joint, and I really hope that you do serve the non-veg platter out here! :)

fabulous comfort food!

Having spent the last three months in Thane after leaving all of our favorite haunts in Chennai, we were slowly reconciling ourselves to the idea that we might have to go all the way to Bandra or further south in Mumbai if we needed to have some good dinner beyond the usual palak paneer and tandoori chicken type fare..this Saturday night we wanted a comfortable and relaxed dinner and were determined to seek out options within Thane..stumbled upon Qisho's and decided to give it a go..glad to say our adventure wasn't in vain!
Qisho's isn't the kind of place which is going to give you a high brow fine dining experience..The owner Kishore is quite emphatic when he speaks to you about the food because the food is the hero here..the decor can probably get a facelift but the food more than makes up for all these seemingly superficial "cosmetic" problems..
We started out with one of Kishore's home grown creations..a pizza roll which completely floored my kiddo..the food is really homestyle..Kishore takes the orders, offers suggestions, and quickly runs down into the kitchen to make sure your order is whipped up just the way you like it..we wanted to keep our pizza healthy and was quite surprised to see wholewheat and even multigrain base options for the pizza base and focaccia sandwiches..The options on the menu varied from enchiladas to burritos to tacos and chimichangas..we are confused and decide to do the wholewheat thin and crispy base chicken pizza..barbecued buffalo wings on the side..fresh lime sodas to wash it all down..
The pizza roll was absolutely delicious..no one warned us about the portion sizes because as it turned out we had ordered a bit much for three people! The wholewheat pizza..base was thin and crispy as promised..loved the tomato sauce on the pizza..plenty of cheese..generous on toppings and flavor..no scrimping on flavor!
The buffalo wings arrived at the end..a fitting end to a yummy meal..homemade barbecue sauce..tailor made to suit our palate..a tinge of spice..a twang of sour and a dash of sweet with a hint of bitterness from the caramelization..perfectly cooked chicken wings coated beautifully in that divine sauce which was literally finger lickin good!
And all this was less than 700 bucks! Unbelievable! Loved the homestyle cooking approach..gregarious service..yummy food and honest use of simple ingredients..must visit for all lovers of Mexican and Italian food!

Two thumbs way up!

A warm, courteous and friendly staff. A down to earth chef, so passionate about the food served, that he does not supervise, but personally prepares the sauce and gravy. A place where you can ask to personalize your food, and you won't be let down. That's Qisho's for you.

My wife and I visited last Saturday, and we just loved the delicious pasta - authentic in taste, and well done.

The salsa sauce was awesome - it tasted exactly like the one served in Chipotle.

Great value for money too.

Good Run, Sadly though....

I have been to Qisho's 6 times and have had a good experience on all except one occasion.
Ambience and Decor-wise the place leaves much to be desired but the quality of food makes up for it.
I have had Quesadillas, Enchiladas, Burritos, Chimichangas, Pasta, Pizza, Tandoori, and Aagri dishes from this place and the experience has been worth the money on all except last occasion. When the taste wasn't as expected the owner Mr. Kishore was always open for suggestions and his personal touch in the customer's dining experience was much appreciated. The USP for this ambitious endeavor is the the option of customizing your dish as per your own taste, so you can have Mexican food as they intended it or its Indian version, the choice is all yours. And at the reasonable prices at which they are offered one can't really ask for more.

The last experience, however, turned out to be sad for me. On a lunch visit today I found the restaurant littered with bits of paper strewn over the dining area. My order of Aagri Chicken Curry was without salt and there was something definitely wrong with the gravy because I ended up puking thrice over the next one and half hours. While I have never had Aagri dishes before, and therefore am in no position to judge its taste, something was amiss in the quality of the preparation for I have never puked after a meal in a reputed restaurant. Given Mr. Kishore's commitment to quality I would like to believe that it was a singular incident of lapse but the experience leaves me jittery of going there again any time soon. I wish Mr. Kishore all the best for his endeavor.
