Nice Place to Chillax!

I had visited there with my friends in mid March . Its a small place and quite chilled out ambiance. Going with a large group of friends (more than 10) is a Big No No. Talking about the food , it was very good. We had ordered Chilly Cheese Toast, Jalapeno Cheese Nuggets and Tex-Mex Sizzler. Jalapeno Cheese Nuggets and Tex-Mex Sizzler is a Must Try. The price of Sizzler is very pocket friendly. Overall, I would rate it as 3.7/5.

'Quench'ed

‘Life is full of difficult decisions’ says the poster hanging on the wall of the restaurant. Want to simply grab a beer and hang out with friends? Quench is the place to go to. They may only serve beer and wine, but at this place you don’t really need more. The music here is always good. Extremely casual atmosphere, good offers and affordable rates. Must try the Chicken BBQ and the Fish N Chips.

Fun Place, Nice Music, Decent Food!

Quench is a really fun place to go to with a big group. Music, food, service are all good. Though the music is really loud so don't go if you're on a date or just want to catch up with a friend.
The food portions are quite big so its well worth the price. Nothing stood out in terms of a really good dish but on the other hand nothing was bad either.

A good place to hangout

for all the pasta and starter lovers, quench is the place to be. Even though its not a pub, it certainly feels like one. The place however is too small to hangout for large groups. Alcohol is also served at its regular rates. The food is delicious at the same time is quite expensive.

Fails to quench your thirst !

For a place that ends before it starts in all its 6 table glory , you've got to be joking if you have the audacity to charge a pint of imported beer more than what they charge at say an Irish House , TGIF , Lagerbay or any of the other Townie/Bandra neighboring pubs . Finger food/starters were your average fare , nothing to write home about and the pesky floor manager/head waiter who keeps pestering you to order as soon as you're done with your pint guarantees a few cuss words and hexes placed on him !

To top it all , blaring music !!! I'll give them points for playing some Nickelback , Metallica over the EDM/Rap/Pop tripe that gets whored at most places but that fails to offer any respite from the sub-par food and overpriced beer they peddle . Frequented by couples , large groups are better off elsewhere as Quench has in total just 6 tables that can seat only 4 each .

They do have an impressive beer catalog ranging from Hoegaarden to Schneider , I'll give them that . Nevertheless , won't be visiting anytime soon .

Quench 1 and 2

I’ve been to this place twice – and the first and second time have been starkly different for me.
The first time I went was more than two years ago on a Saturday night, after roaming the city finding a place for cheap beer late night. As Bombay is on a Saturday night, it was crowded, 10 of us were cramped on a table for 5 and the music was overpowered by the chatter. Yet everyone (but me) loved it.
The second time I went, was a Monday night few weeks back. A complete 180 from before – empty, good music could be heard and good beer was had. You can’t compare a Monday night and Saturday night, but I understand why the place has its loyalists.
Quench is a cosy little place in the midst of restaurants lined across Lilawati. Its super-colourful, places English music you’d know the lyrics to and has reasonable alcohol and cosy food.
My new favourite combination – cold air conditioning, chilled beer and warm soft creamy mashed potatoes. Yes you can order mashed potatoes here! Portions are not too big, but I guess that’s what you get in the amount you pay.
All in all, it’s a chilled out vibe and a great place to just hang-out and feel like you’re in college again.

Quench, anall time favorite

Loacted in the food lane of Reclamation near Lilavati Hospital, this three year old eatery, or rather restobar is the newest all time favorite hangout place for people of all age groups, who are looking out for some fun. Known for its exhaustive beer menu, Quench doesn't disappoint in any manner. The great ambience and the beautifully done up beer walls; the beer quotes all over perfectly compliment the menu Quench has to offer. Always full but always worth the wait. Great food; Great service and Great music just enhance your dining experience.

Some of the all time favorites at Quench incude the Paneer Steak Gunzanio, Jalapeno Cheese Nuggets with a mint mayo dip, Paneer Crispy Dry, Cheese Garlic Bread, Paneer Chilli Dry and Paprika Paneer...

Their pastas and pizzas and chinese food and sizzlers are equally awesome..

Downer

I've been a regular at quench, but my last experience has been the worst ever! Pathetic rude service - the waiters dropped a glass, a starter (over my feet) and 2 plates at our table all in 1 night! Nightmarish. Going to have to find another place for the quaint experience this place once used to offer.

Watering hole

Have been here several times with friends, cosy little place, and the waiters are very friendly and accommodating. Prices aren't too high, and music is great and just at the right volume. Food is mostly to go with the beer, and quite tasty.

Does really quench.....

A small find close to Candies and Masala zone. Serves beer and wine only. However, the food was a pleasant surprise - Nachos, better than some well known places I've been to, Garlic bread had a nice taste and fish finger had us licking our fingers and asking for more tartar sauce. The chinese shredded chicken was just the right taste. All this and 5 beers came to 1400/-. No wonder it is always crowded.

Cheap eats galore!

Absolutely love this place. Its cheap, friendly and the food is much better than the boring indian street fare you find at every corner. The chef attempts something new with most dishes and most of it fares well. Dont look for authenticity but go if you are looking to spend some time with friends over a meal and beer without burning deep, gaping holes in your pocket.

Great Place

Awesome place, really liked the interiors and the attitude of everything there - the waiters, their T-shirts, ambiance, posters etc. Good prices.

A very buddy beer place!

Two drawbacks...
1. It is quite small
2. The music was a bit off in terms of technical issues - too much echo for some reason. I tried to get it corrected but in vain!

Mini TGIF in Bandra :)

The infamous Candies must now have its fair share of competition with so many restaurants and bars (Masalazone, IBar, Zaza, Quench) along the same stretch. After having heard some good reviews about this joint, I dropped in on for a late dinner on Sunday. I was a little taken aback with the lack of space, but this is Mumbai, so I decided I'm not going to pass any judgements yet! The place serves a bit of everything (American, Chinese, Indian kebabs, Continental). I would suggest they also add cocktails to their menu because as of date, they serve just beer..Opted for a Coronita which was perfectly chilled (INR 249)..Starters was Salt n' Pepper prawns (which were good) and a chicken kebab turned salad sort of a dish (which was served cold, but they obliged immediately when we asked them to heat it up)..For main course, we had the Chicken steak with garlic bread, which i must admit was very good..The sauce was perfect!! And they were sweet enough to replace the mashed potato with fries :)
The entire meal cost us approx INR 1000..Will definitely visit again :)

Serves only beer & yes they play nice music which has lately become rare in Bandra

food and drinks ! perfecto

Everything about the place makes it a quintessential bar, the kind that you see on your favorite TV Sitcoms frequented by your faves... only a little smaller and without the exclusive bar stool area. It's cheap, lip-smacking, fun, noisy, loud English classics, metal etc. And it's located on the quiet backlane of Reclamation ! The menu comprises starters, soups, pastas, Indian, desserts and mocktails too. Selection is quite awesome. I wouldve given 5 stars for the yum and value-for-money food and drinks, decor, service, crowd and music. A star needs to be knocked off for the fact that it's too small a place for the kinda popularity ! We had to wait 45 minutes for a seat for 7. I'm hoping the management expands the place, probably try to even have a separate bar area just for drinks and nibbles so that the joy isn't marred by the endless wait time.

Smelly Hangout

Always thought of this place to be a cool place to hang out and have a beer or two.
Although, I changed my mind recently when I walked in to be seated in one of the seats placed towards the end of the restaurant, where the area was stinking like a toilet.
I assumed the toilet was not cleaned for sometime ... Keeping that in mind, I wondered how clean the kitchen was.
Won't visit this place again!!!

Share:

Quite a Quencher !!

We were 4 guys who dropped in on a sunday around 8pm, we got a nice table, ordered for a tower of kingfisher and 3 more kingfisher pitchers, had around 8 starters also, cost us around 800 per person, pretty cheap i must say according to the amount of beer we had, all in all a nice experience

Share:

Great Ambience and Awesome Music

4 of us dropped in for a post-dinner drink on a Thursday evening around 11ish. We ordered 2 rounds of beers and the staff was courteous and attentive. We didn't order any food, so I can't say anything about that. Charges were reasonable. No complaints there.

But the music... in a word- AWESOME. Lots of modern rock, alternative rock, and even some classic rock thrown in for good measure. Artists like Nickelback, Floyd, Led Zep, Metallica, Pearl Jam were being spun. Simply superb. :)

While the music was astounding, the sound system itself was atrocious and needs to be immediately upgraded to a much cleaner sounding system.

Maybe, it's just me but the place reminded me of the cozy old Juhu On Toes Pub from the mid-to-late 90s that was where their restaurant is now. And that, trust me, is a very good thing.

5 Stars!

Share:

Great place to chill out.

To start off with, the only thing that put me off about this joint was the tiny, eerily lit and forever wet washroom, which I think is a very important feature for any eatery.
Save for that, I love this place. The music, the graffiti, the ambience, the service, the location and finally, the FOOD are amazing. Esp. the chicken stroganoff. Not exactly a place to be with kids as the beer-people and the loud music can disturb them, but if you have to catch up with an old gang or for a re-union, this is the place to head to. I haven't had the time lately, otherwise I am waiting to visit here again!

worth it....

My husband and I love trying out new restaurants. But, eating out in Bandra is quite an expensive affair if you don't want the regular, run-of-the-mill stuff. "Unique" doesn't come cheap. :) Also, most of the places are quite pretentious. Then, every once in a while, you stumble onto something like Quench. Voila....
Eating at Quench is a psychedelic experience. It begins the minute you walk in. The first thing you notice are the pictures - really funny beer montages.
Then you see the light fixtures - you got to see it to believe it. They are made of empty alcohol bottles and look very charming and quirky.
The seating area is not very big, about 6 to 8 tables. Then there's a tiny bar, seating 3 people at most. The alcohol list is the bare minimum - that's the only thing I would like them to change.
The staff is very friendly.
We tried the wines - there was only one variety of red and white, each. They were okay.
Next we tried their "Onion Rings", which were quite yummy, as was the "Risotto". The portions are huge.
What we liked best were the "Paneer Steak" and the awesome, yummy, delicious (I'm running out of adjectives) "Red hot wine Chicken". Its basically a sizzler with chicken in a red wine sauce with fettucini, fries and grilled veggies. Loved it. The chicken was fresh and melt-in-your-mouth and the sauce was very, very nice. I'm a vegetarian most of the time, because I can't stand the smell of non-veg. But I gorged on this chicken!
The price is just right as well. A meal for two, with wine, set us back by Rs. 800, only. Practically unheard of, in Bandra.
I just wish they offered a wider variety of desserts.
Overall, it was a great find, completely worth the hour spent on the internet trolling for a nice place to eat.

Situated near Lilavati, on the candies lane, quench is a small petit place. Decent ambience, loved their walls! the place serves alcohol, although was disappointed to see a limited wine menu :( food menu is multi cuisine, and its decent and fast service. the music however can be too loud, so if you want to spend some quality peaceful time, wont recommend this place.

Although the food pricing is reasonable, the quantity served is not to brag about. the quality i've mentioned as 3, because the pieces of fish and chicken served don't look very appetizing. The music and ambience are great. The service was kind and pleasing. I could drop by again whenever im not in the mood to splurge. In all, if the quantity served could be increased, im sure this place could get a lotta customers frequently. Management, work on your portions and i guarantee your nook popularity. Try it!

Quenched

was coming back from worli so decided to grab a bite with my husband at Candies, thats when we saw Quench and decided to give it a try. Quite a tiny place but very intimate. Barely any crowd. The menu had everything of everything, thats when a young gentleman came to help us. Being avid food lovers we decided to let the chef tickle our taste buds. And how we dont regret it. Yummy Mushrooms and rather amazing hot garlic bread. My husband being the mughlai food lover decided to stay a little unadventurous but still that Gentleman (who we later realized was the co-owner) offer him some Indian Sizzler. The place is very cost friendly. The music , the lighting was adding to the ambiance. To add to it. the choices on beer and the prices they were available for put us through a tizzy. Personally loved the decor especially the beer quotes and the bottled lights. the only put off being the traffic outside Leelavati and the red light in their cloakrooms.

Value for Money for non-veggies!..veggies..as well

Had been to Quench for lunch today. Enjoyed veg food for the first time in my life! The cream of mushroom soup was perfect to the T, the patato wedges with paprica was perfectly done, the italian salad & pepper paneer could have been better.....my non-veg counterparts had a fantastic time though...Chicken Glamorgan sizzler...was a sight to see and definitely a treat to your taste buds, perfectly cooked chicken service with jalapeño sauce is delight. The Risotto...a lighter version was also perfectly done. The crunchy chicken was not that great though. could have been better. The mocktails were not that great...a little too sweet...could have been better as well....Would go there for a second time to try the non-veg food though...in a nutshell a place with good food and not too harsh on your pocked!

the have some good expansive menu however the rissotoes inspite of unique names they taste the same. there is hardly any difference. beers are priced well. meal for two- 1400 bucks. i wud rather hop off to chez moi, masalabay or candies for their unique offerings.

We ordered two dishes 4 the main course sizzlers and pasta..the former being a thumbs down n the latter a thumbs up..

The veggie texx mexx wasthe sizzler that we ordered...it was very okaish in taste..was slightly dry..though loaded with veggies as the name suggests..yet overall a very average one..

Pasta..the burgundy pasta was delicious served with two garlic breads..its a mix of red n white sauce..very cheesy n tasty..worth having it..

Love It!

An accidental turn took me to this small place near Lilavati which
now is my regular hang out. I ve been frequenting this since the past couple of months not only for the excellent food but a very
hospitable management. The Indian cuisine surprises you with
its authencity as do the mocktails. The place also serves sizzlers and chinese. Retro, rock and a lot of golden oldies to
keep chugging at the variety of a dozen beers labels. The crowd varies from college kids, corporates and young families. No problem finding parking here. Go there if you want a quiet but a refreshing evening without burning a hole in your pocket.

Small, cheap & pointless

Went here last night to meet a friend who frequents this place.

Its very very small, just 24 seats and 2 at an apology of a bar. With such a small place service cannot be bad. The food is ordinary and diverse. It spans the ubiquitous Indo Chinese, Tandoori and `Continental’.

Only beer and wine are served. The beer is half the price of Totos. Yes half. A 650 ml bottle of Kingfisher costs Rs 169 + 25% tax. You buy 3 you get one free so that makes it cheaper still. If you have the guts to drink London Pilsner you get it at a rock bottom Rs 139+ 25% tax. The food is cheap too with smaller portions. Not upsettingly small but just small.

There is music being played. The usual mix of rock, pop. No Hindi no Bollywood. The crowd is decent though characterless.

Just a ho hum place. Rather pointless.

A great casual option

I have visited Quench a few times now and enjoy the place. It is quite small (only 5-6 tables), so it can be a bit frustrating if you have to wait because there is not bar area to stand. With that said, the drinks are cheap (just beer and wine) and the ambiance is clean and casual. The food is a mixed bag of unforgettable stuff, but most of it works well with a nice cold glass of beer...

The location can be a bit hard to find the first time (just find Candies in the lane parallel to Lilavati hospital and you're there), but it's right off the Bandra-Worli Sealink so it's a convenient option for those coming up from town to meet people in Bandra.

A wonderful experiance, best part is it is a little off the main road and there no noise from the traffic. :))))

Awsome place!

I had read about Quench on Burrp and thought this is one of those places I must go to. Luckily, my friend Irfan decided to treat me to dinner, and so we went to Quench. What a great choice!

Food- The place serves Pasta, Salads, Sizzlers, Chinese, Continental and Indian food. Now that’s a huge variety of cuisine to choose from! They also serve drinks. All kinds! For starters we had a plate of Nachos which was pretty different yet decent but you’d have to ask them to pour some more cheese sauce as they’re a bit kanjoos with it! For main course I called for my favourite pasta- Penne in Alfredo sauce with American corn and totally loved it; my friend called for a Fetuccini in Carbonara sauce. He liked his pasta too. Besides that I had a Frunch which is a yummy mocktail- concoction of Cranberry juice and vanilla ice cream. Since I’ve made it at home before, I knew it would be yummy. I also had a chocolate milkshake. Now even their chocolate milkshakes have different chocolates and you can choose between Ferrero Rocher, Snickers, Kit Kat and Mars. My Ferrero Rocher shake was delicious! My stupid friend just had his London Pilsners so no comments on that! We didn’t have our dessert there ‘cause I really wanted to try Pali village café, but unfortunately, after eating at Quench, I had no room for dessert and plus there was 1 hour waiting at PVC! Bloody hell!

Ambience- Located near the reclamation Candies, this place is a tiny little restaurant that looks very cute from the outside. I love the look and feel of the place! Very young, colourful and fun! You’ll find quotes about beer and wine, and fun furniture too! They play great music, mainly House, although at times you’ll also hear Justin Bieber… but that’s ok! But the best thing I love is how chilled out the place is!

Service- Good & quick service. Our food arrived on time so no complaints.

Prices- The prices are well worth the food. Good quantity and completely affordable. We had 1 starter, 1 mocktail, 1 milkshake, 2 beers, 2 pastas and our bill came up to 1064, which is brilliant! The good thing about this place is that its value for money! A veg pasta would cost you about 169 and a non-veg one would cost you 189. My chocolate milkshake with Ferrero Rocher was only 71 bucks and the beer was 119 bucks! So, it’s a place you can go to even if you just wanna have a couple of drinks. The best part was that from 8pm to 9pm they have this Happy Hour for women and offer free wine! I don’t drink, so the wine was a waste but for those who do, it’s a great offer, don’t you think?!

Verdict- Highly recommended! It’s a place for those who want to chill, with a couple of drinks, good food and music! Total Paisa Vasool I say! I’m really looking forward to many more dinners at Quench!

Rating- 4.5/5

Simple, Affordable, Not Uptight - Perfect.

Don't plan for an evening at Quench. If you happen to get off work before sunset and reach Bandra soon enough, you could get one of the 6 tables there. The place is that place everyone wants to claim they discovered. It's in a corner near Candies. They have an eclectic menu that doesn't claim to be a foodie's paradise, but is very nice. They have all of a waiter and a half, who're not intrusive, yet very polite. I can't find one thing to fault about the place...and I can find things to fault about every place (if you've read the other reviews I've written). Sure they could lose about half their lights and get a nice bar-dingy feel, and they could stay open for the World Cup finals.... but give the place a chance, with no expectations. It's the cafe version of Janata. Simple, low maintenance, unpretentious... just regular and un-gimmicky. I'm rarely but substantially impressed.

Pleasantly Surprised !

Amazing place for an evening out with Beer and friends. Its a relatively small place with just about 5-6 tables. The food is awesome... a mix of chinese, barbeque, continental, Indian (For some reason the Indian menu is separate and not provided unless aksed for) and an assortment of knick knacks (The spinach and cheese rolls were truly good !!). The music was moderately loud with the CD player (don't think they had a DJ) belting out retro, classic rock, and the likes ... The staff was very polite and quick with recommendations.
Overall a truly Value for Money place !
However, something to improve on: For a Beer & Wine place, the selection of wines available was VERY limited and had no option of ordering a bottle (you could order by the glass or buy a pint). Also, no DRAUGHT !!!

Wonderful Little Corner Eatery

Quench has all of 6 tables - and is the same size as the reclamation Candies - which means if the place becomes more popular, you are going to have a hard time getting a table
But as of now, its still not on the circuit yet - probably because they are yet to get a liquor license - and when you walk inside the adorable faux train-bogie exterior, you are pleasantly surprised. The decor is a little offbeat and laid back - but the place looks welcoming overall.

The menu has offerings from Italian, Chinese and Indian cuisines. I didnt bother going through the Chinese and Indian options - in my opinion, it wasnt needed and Quench could have functioned as a Italian only place. Mixing three up somewhat reduces its equity I think. Nevertheless, the salad, the pasta etc were tremendously good - but the portions were REALLY SMALL !! Maybe it works for ladies on a diet, but a normal male would probably have to go through two entrees before being satiated
But as far as taste etc is concerned, its 5/5 - even if the Bruschetta looked more like a cheese chilly toast
Hope the management corrects the portion sizes without increasing the prices too much because the current prices are ok - increasing it too much would make it overpriced.

Quirky

As you enter you are greeted by a riot of color and Yeats. I love the hand painted colorful tables and quirky walls. Its nice to see something different and fun. The bar consists of half a jeep jutting out.The place was kind of empty but I guess that's because people still don't know about it.

Food: Normally I stay away from places that offer Indian, Chinese and Continental under one roof because they are sure to mess it up but it works for Quench. Ordered the Manchow soup, cheese chilly toast and ratatouille with spaghetti. The food is good more like home cooked than gourmet but still enjoyed it.

Service: Well I had no problems with the service. In fact the owner was soo nice that when the towing van came he offered to go check where our car was parked to ensure it wont be towed and bring it closer if it was parked wrongly. And the car was atleast 2 min walk. How many places do that.

Damages: Rs 370 for a soup. starter and main course. Not bad.

Would definitely go again if I'm in the area.

quench is surprisingly good.

Couple of days back i visited this place for lunch with my friends who wanted a change from the typical candies affair.
lets not get harsh.
the little teething problems in the start can be pardoned.
there were no waiters around however the owner/,manager was quite attentive. we had the pastas n sizzlers. the quantity was good not overpriced and well prepared.
relaxed set up..loved the walls and the lights. very rock, punk.
its a no frills place which is like a breath of fresh air compared to the typical places in bandra.
im coming back for sure.
i was informed in few days the drinks will be coming soon.
one hick up- they shud have a more expansive menu and the room should be a little more brightly lit.

Beer cafe with no beer.. :(

according tp previous reviews, the alcohol was gonaa be severed frm 10th may,,, i visited this place on 15th may...
they said they still dit have the permit to serve alcohol ..

food: the taste is good also the pricing, but the options for main course is strictly short, u wld definitely feel confused, as nothing new is included,,, just a normal minimum menu...
not a great place for dinner.

service: the waiters arrived for job only after 8 30 pm, till thn sme boy was being substitued for, n dint knw his role.
when the waiters arrived, it got worst, thw waiter started sprinkling water on the floor for cleaning, n to my shock he used the same bottle which he served us drinking water... thts pathetic...
also they were not upto the mark, for each n every thing the owner had to interfere ... not good..

prices: normal, although taxes were not added in the final bill.

ambiance : tht the reason why this place is a once visit

OVERALL: wait for a few weeks before hitting this place as they r still ametures, it will surely be a hit once they start serving alcohol, n also improve their service... it would be similar to jugheads n poptates

Quite A Quencher!

Impressed by the name Quench, we stepped into this beer and wine cafe nestled inside a quaint lane at Bandra Reclamation at around 10:00 P.M. Surprised to see it completely vacant, we grabbed a table for two and looked around delightfully. The décor is extremely classy with alcohol bottles as bulb envelops, vibrant coloured wallpapers and cool catchphrases like “Save the planet, it’s the only one with beer” doodled on the walls.

With a can of Red Bull on every table, the staff politely informed us that alcohol would start from the 10th of May and that every can of Red Bull will give us another one complimentary. A little disappointed, we started to place our order. The menu had starters, soups, pastas, Indian cuisine, desserts and mocktails. We ordered for a Baileys (non-alcoholic) which was quite delicious and immediately extinguished our desire for alcohol. For starters, we called for something interestingly named Murgh Chaat. It was a blend of tender chicken pieces, sliced onions, chaat masala and regular chutneys, an absolute delight but on the spicier end. Next on our platter was Pasta which they willingly agreed to customize as per our requirements. So we called for a Chicken Penne Pasta in white sauce and asked them to replace the broccoli with mushrooms. Though the quantity could have been better, the pasta was well-cooked and cheesy.

The entire meal cost us Rs.400, a steal for our money and we are sure once they officially start off with alcohol, the place will be quite buzzing. We only hope that the service will be as prompt and courteous as it is now, even with the crowds pouring in.
