Tiny joint in the heart of Oshiwara and I must say, amongst the outcrop of weird not-so-great places of the area, this one has been one of the oldest and definitely the best of the lot.
Having heard a lot about the place for a while, it took me a long time since it opened to actually visit. That was about a year ago. And then most recently. It has a small downstairs and a small upstairs area with light music playing in the background. Good for a lunch date or a dinner with a small group.
It gives a Mexican cafe sorta vibe with a large beer menu to go with it. Having had some of the cult favorites in the US, I have tried the Shepheard IPA and Stout during my visits here.
The food here is delicious and among the other pseudo-Mexican joints, this one definitely comes close to authentic. The potato steak that comes with some of the dishes is to die for. Go for the Mermaid's recipe, Fisherman's catch, Santa Fe chicken and of course, the famous Quesadillas. Not much for a vegetarian to gorge on here.
Service is sort of slow. It took about 30 minutes for them to come out. But we had our beer so we were good. All my points go for the food though.
