In love with it since a long time
When I was younger my uncle would take me to Spices & Flavours for lunch at Girgaon Chowpatty. At that time the food was so tasty and spicy that we patronize this place. So now, whenever I go to Girgaon Chowpatty I always visit Spices & Flavours.
Great Ambiance & convenient parking...!!!
It is the best place to enjoy conventional Multi cuisine & Punjabi dishes. The resturant has limited dishes & small menu. The Indian seating is nothing but a show-off. I sat in the Indian seating, It was indeed a painful experience while having dinner. Quantity of servings were adequate.
Well, First things first, Great Ambiance, Great Food, Great Service and Great Variety.
But aren't these things valid for many of the restaurants, So why Spices and Flavours is the question.
And the answer is the Innovation. Yes, The Innovation is the key to stand out and This restaurant clearly stands out.
A step inside and you will know that you are in a place with a good crowd, a good atmosphere and a good ambiance. You climb the stairs and there it is - the rooftop, another great addition to the aura and the environment. Well, You sit in there and you glare at the menu. Voila, You get almost everything you want!, What else do I need was the thought going on in my mind. And then I order the Continental, Chinese, Tandoori and the North Indian Items.
One of the few restaurants which offers you just what they should with the dishes. Continental was okay. Chinese was good. Tandoori was Awesome and then came the North Indian which was Incredible. Well they certainly don't cook it by book is what you get to know after the food gets served. With a touch of Innovation in everything, I really do commend them for the extra effort. Ask them for the specials.
Well, All the breads are a must try because they offer what different variety of naans should be like.
Service is good but can become better. And I think they should work a little on their prices
Not upto the expectations
I was a regular at their worli restaurant...but it closed their shutters for reasons best known to them. I visited their walkeshwar outlet thinking that the quality & taste of food will be the same. But sadly it was not.. I had ordered my all time favourite Lahori Tikka, Chilli Cheese Toast, Dal Makhani, Paneer Tak Tak & some rotis/ Naan. I was not at all happy with the food. Even the décor, the ambience was pathetic. It gave me a feeling as though I am visiting some Guju household & not a restaurant. The extremely dim lights don't go well with type of food served. This S&F is surely dropping off my list.
@jhangirya rkhan and bgandhi......thanx a lot for ur support...but the point is for being vocal outside customers and relatives were there who might be enjoying some or other celebrations and by being vocal out there inside the hotel i did not wanted to spoil their event....but before leaving from their i did tell him tht wht he did is wrong and becoz of which i m leaving and my vocal word i spreaded on burrp...so tht its vocal to whole world

Sir we sincerely apologize of what transpired when you visited put restaurant last & take full ownership our deeds.
It will be our grand pleasure to be of service to you, by you giving us an another chance.
Please personally meet Mr. Umesh in chowpatty & Mr. Sid in fort.
We regret for the late apology.
Dump the Selfish Owner and his restaurant.
@smanitj, we should never ever go to such restaurants. you should have spoken to the owners in front of his guests. As a hotelier or a credible restaurant owner he should not have done this. This is not how the service industry functions. Obviously it is a trashy joint. I bet the owner would not even bother to tender in an apology or write on this forum. But you must be vocal about all such experiences. You did the right thing by walking out.
i had gone with my frnds to this restaurant....before reaching we called for booking the table....we reached there and asked for status of are seats so the person said we have not noted down we will note it now and u have to wait for 30min so we were waiting but in tht time we saw tht owner was coming out to greet his relatives and giving them seats who had not registered their names when we told him tht he is doing wrong so he said samjho na yaar gharwale hain...then we said tht we r leaving cancel our names so then he said tht he will strt the banquet hall which did not started for next 15min but tht relatives got the seat whereas we had to leave and go to other restaurant and he did not even said sorry nor felt also as he works for his relatives
awesome food and service at an economical price
Paneer dishes were great.
We went on a sunday afternoon as a couple, and since not many guests were present, we were invited to sit on the central rising podium, surrounded by hanging threads with stoned embedded on them. It was a beautiful and romantic experience.
The staff was extremely courteous.
Definitely looking forward to visit again
The Costliest & Poorest Sheesha in Town.
For more than once, I have ran into the poorest sheesha ever made. The flavor (Kiwi Mint) died in less than 10 minutes and when questioned about the the reason, the concerned person told us that it is more than 30mins old. We asked for a replacement of the flavor and after 20mins we got one. The replaced sheesha had a new chillum, but the old flavor was mixed with a pinch of some more flavor and the sheesha burnt out again in 5minutes. It is not worth spending Rs. 450 on a sheesha that doesn't last for even 45minutes.
My Take - NEVER go to this place if you want to go for sheesha.
one of the best places to have food and sheesha
recently i heard a lot about this place so i had to go and check it out....my experience was nthin compared to the other reviews written out here...i had an amazing time out there..even though it was a bit expensive but the sheesha is just the best eva and so is the food specially the starters....plus the best part is that if you are lucky you might just get to see some celeb out there...when i went MSdhoni and bhaji were sitting on the table next to mine.... This a place you cant afford not to go once....
Poor service and sheesha as compared to worli.
I went with my friends and believe me the rooftop was good the ambience was typical town side restaurant type. When we ordered one of it's customised flavour spicy.it truly amazed me because it was nothin but cinnamon. And the sheesha choked and then there was no smoke. It was cozy and waiters were ignorant. After 20 mins the waiter came and changed the coal and again it choked and we left.I think they should improve their service as compared to the original one at worli which rocks!
Poorest Staff + Service & Zero Points for Food
Finding a decent place to eat on a Sunday night has become a task these days. All I would expect is decent food, kind staff, and a setting one could breathe in. While I have experienced a lot of disappointments, this takes the top spot - Spice & Flavours @ Walkeshwar.
We managed to get a table for 8 on the open air section of this restaurant situated right at the corner/end of chowpatty. Due to the monsoon, the area was covered up and it was quite hot with a lot of hukkas around. When requested, the manager couldnt turn the fan on, as there seem to be one common switch for all fans and a manjority of the tables had hukkas on and didnt prefer the fan! Craziest thing I had heard.
Moving on, I ordered for a tomato soup - 1 by 2. The waiter brings along 2 bowls which were less than 1/4th full to which he replied that this is their standard quantity. I believed him and moved on. A few mins later, the waiter brings along another 1 by 2 soup for a friend of mine which had almost double the quantity! And when asked he quickly rushes into the kitchen and gets me a 'complimentary' soup as he realized it was their mistake and to add the waiter was laughing away when he should have been apologetic. The garlic bread served was awful. I was quite put off but still ordered the main course - black dal and roomali roti. The roomali roti was excellent but the black dal was horrible. Very bland and was one the worst I had eaten. To end it all, the waiter was arguing with another table on them ordering a drink which was canceled upon. Highly untrained and unmanaged staff.
Needless to say, I would never visit this place again and would rate the staff + service to be the poorest.
hukka is good
the sittin area for hukka on the terrace is too good as it falls right oppposite to chowpatty its breezy n calm
food is awesome except for sunday evenins
overall experience is good but thr r shortfalls too
its too conjusted for privacy n comfort
the 4 ppl limited per hukka rule makes it more frustatin
n the staff is not at all polite to ne1 not even to chicks
