Fairly Average!

The place is almost a hole-in-the-wall. It does average food. The ambiance is average again with mosquitoes doing the rounds and mice scuttering around. However, the place does manage to draw high profile customers, read John Abraham.

The staff however is courteous. We called for a certain salad on the menu on the recommendation a staff there and did to happen to like it at all. The staff offered to get us another item instead.

Suzette will have to continue with it's courteous behavior like this, or it may fade out into the burgeoning cafe scenario of bandra.

merci for opening up a french joint at the most sort out locality. i had the wraps , they are so delicious , the salads are well tossed. the joint has sophisticated black interiors, from the outside it looks out of the box, the french people are so sweet in serving and welcoming u, they took our photographs. the only issue is their blender doesn't work half of the times, so shakes and cold coffees aint available. its a really cool place to chill.

Pathetic service

Complaint: I went to Suzette Bandra with a friend on (22nd September) and we had a rather disappointing experience. The service was pathetic. The steward's attitude was discriminatory (we were Indians wearing Indian clothes) right from the word go.

1) When I asked for a spicy option the waiter replied in a very condescending tone " we don't serve anything remotely spicy at this joint" (Almost saying this is not an Indian restaurant) and as soon as I removed the menu from the paper mat on the table there was a spicy salmon salad mentioned on the paper mat, which your waiter very conveniently forgot to mention

2) We asked for water 3 times during our meal and we did not get it even after finishing our meal

3) The waiter was not enthusiastic to serve us and was very actively serving foreigners and other customers in western clothes

4) When I asked for a feedback form I got a piece of blank paper which I'm not even sure reached the manager

We go to a place like Suzette to experience great service and it was such a disappointment that we left the desert untouched and walked off. Bandra is a very competitive space a lot of restaurants serve good food but only those restaurants survive which can back the food with good service. Very disappointing!

Louvee it!

Absolutely love the place! You just can't go wrong here. Must try the pasta salads, olive tapernade especially. Most of the savoury crepes are delicious. If you’re a hot chocolate fan, this one is worth a taste. They have this lovely French green tea called Vert Provence. Absolute must try if you don't mind splurging on tea

Mixed Feelings !

Have been hearing rave reviews Suzette and finally this fine Saturday morning we were in Bandra and decided to drop in. It was pretty packed and after us there was waiting at 9 a.m. We began with a lovely and fresh watermelon- mint juice which was pretty refreshing. Of course our next choice was a crepe – we picked a savoury one called Latine which had Spanish ham, mascarpone, mozzarella and basil –this was quite disappointing. Firstly this combination didn’t work, at least for us. Besides this, it was quite bland and the crepe soggy. Next I ordered was the Mushroom and Emmenthal omelette which was nice and no complains there. But being a crepe place when the crepe isn’t really good it is not a happy feeling! Though we will definitely give Suzette a second chance and go for the sweet crepes. Hope it doesn’t disappoint us this time!

Love Anything French - Come here

I love everything off this menu. Specially their crepes. OMG - Heaven.
They are one of the few restaurants that get it right.

The staff are so courteous and nice - a lot of restaurants can learn from them.
Ever helpful / friendly. The ambiance is another plus. Its based in a great area, only issue is the Indians nonstop honking like morons !

But its a great space to chill, eat and even work.
Psst: Hot Chocolate is to die for !

The French feel in Mumbai

After having this little French cafe on my list of places to try for a very long time, I finally made it here past Sunday. I arrived a little late in the evening for lunch, like about 4 PM, but the place was packed up to the brim, except for one table, which I guess was waiting for us ;) Suzzette has an open kitchen, and you're welcome to peep in if you please.

Since we were there for lunch, we took a go at the Savory Crepes first. My brother went with a Complete Crepe, with sunny side up Eggs, Emmenthal and ham. This was an open top crepe. I went with a Pays Crepe, which was Grilled Chicken, caramelized onion and Goat Cheese. The crepes took about 10 minutes to arrive after the order. We also ordered two drinks: an Apple compote, yoghurt and home-made caramel Smoozie and a Citrus Juice Banana Yoghurt Smoozie. These came in a little later than we expected, i.e., not along with the food.

Lets go at the crepes. All the crepe ingredients are organic in nature. The Complete Crepe had a nice texture to it, and was quite a portion to finish. If you're a chicken eater, you should go with the Pays Crepe. This was filled with the Grilled chicken in mince form, and goat cheese oozing from it. A little on the rich side, but hey, hungry souls could definitely polish it off.

The drinks, were, umm, okay. Or maybe we picked not the best ones. I could not distinguish the Citrus Juice from the Banana flavor in the drink, and maybe one should have ordered the Belgian Chocolate based drinks to be getting a consistent flavour at least.

Next up, we ordered the Crepe Suzette, which was going to be Orange Caramel flavored with Orange Blossom Water. This was too sweet. Too darn sweet!! There was syrup all over and maybe a lesser quantity would have helped. Maybe the restaurant should have served syrup on the side rather than poured on top. We somehow got through the end of it.

All in all, the restaurant is a solid proposition if you're looking for a French Cafe ambiance in the city with comparable food to go with the French reputation. However, you should have a chat with the waitstaff to pick the best drinks and desserts to go with your palate.

Parisian Breakfast

Suzette, is a quaint Parisian style Creperie that's at Pali Naka opposite Gold's Gym. Lovely matt chocolate coloured paint, quaint wood tables and benches, with an outdoor as well as indoor seating. Everytime we got there the friendly owners Antonia and Pierre welcome us in and have a quick chat.

Taking in the place, it really does feel like I'm was stepping out of the heart of Bandra and into the heart of Paris

Their menu comprises a vast selection of Savoury and Sweet Crepes, Salads & Drinks. I believe I saw a couple of Pastas on the menu as well. As predicted, I instantly zeroed in on the Crepe Nord. A crispy buckwheat crepe stuffed with smoked salmon, fresh sour cream and dill. Delectable. Although the buckwheat crepe does get a bit of getting used to. It's slightly bitter, brown and much thinner than the fluffy white crepes you get on the streets of Paris.
My husband dug into the Mushroom Omlette with Emmenthal cheese. One bite of it, and he said he could taste that unmistakable cheesy flavour that took him straight to Paris. He didn't speak much till his plate was clean. so that says a bit about it. Their espresso too, was served in a quaint shot glass.
I really appreciated the tasteful and authentic french decor, especially the steel rack with lots of french books. Antonia even came and dropped one off at our table, suggesting that I'd like it. I did. In fact I even have another one by the same author.
I'm so glad to have discovered this little slice of paradise so close to my new home. I can't wait for every weekend.

Suzette, Opp Gold's Gym, Pali Naka, Bandra also has a branch at Shop 1A, Ground Floor, Atlanta Building, Nariman Point. Open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 11pm; Sunday closed. Meal for two with beverage approximately Rs. 1000.

Sinful Suzette

I went to this place called Suzette which in French means lilies and it's strange because the place didn't bear any resemblance to lilies whatsoever. Suzette is a small French cafe located in bandra and is easily missed in the hustle and bustle of Mumbai. Suzette actually took me by surprise. Once in Suzette, it's like you are transported to France. I actually felt like that. It's a small cozy place and with cream colored walls and the walls are lined with articles about France. One of my favorite things about the place is the bucket in which they have kept tissues. It some how reminds me of India in France. The seating inside is very minimalistic, very basic. That's the best thing about this place. It exudes peace and tranquility. It's like an escapade, like you are in your own little bubble of joy with the smell of crepes and coffee in the air. Not only does this place look heavenly its food also tastes heavenly. its signature is crepes and coffee. I tried the spinach and emmental crepe and emmental is a cheese. Yes people it's cheese. The crepe was soft and melts in your mouth it's like cream spinach cheese all exploding in your mouth all at the same moment. I am a chocolate person so I called for a melted Belgian chocolate crepe. That crepe for me is like therapy it's the happiness at the end of a sad day. The crepe was yummy with Belgian chocolate oozing out. I never thought something so sinful can feel so heavenly. Suzzette has left me speechless with a mouthful of amazing food. So if you wanna experience France here in Mumbai it doesn't get better that Suzette. So one who goes to Suzette will always find reasons to keep going back because I do.

Good food , lots of flies !

We had to wait for a couple of minutes before we got a place to sit
. I ordered a Belgian chocolate crepe & orange juice and my friend ordered a blue cheese crepe with cold coffee . One of the most important thing that bothered me about this place is the unhygienic conditions near the seating area due to which there were a lot of flies . It was disgusting as we sat there eating delicious food with flies flying all around us . The owners should really consider working on hygiene.
When it comes to the service , it is slightly slow . However, the waiter was apologetic about the same.

I would recommend you to visit this place during the weekdays as its crowded during the weekends.

Mmmmmmmm

The crispy tender buckwheat crepe, some lovely cheese meltingly mingled with arugula or anything that they suggest. I crave this food. I was in Bandra over two weeks recently and ate here twice. I wish I could have Suzette's food this morning. Fresh salads too. A perfect late afternoon spot with a friend.

Absolutely wonderful food but service needs work

We are very regular customers of Suzette in Bandra, and absolutely absolutely love the food. It is hard to find salads like what Suzette serves, and the crepes are amazing also. Most of the time, when we visit, we can spot at least one of the owners there. So the service is normally pretty good too. However, we recently visited during lunch time on a weekday when neither the owner or head chef was there. And can I tell you -- what a difference in service. The waiters and staff were constantly joking around with each other, quite loudly. They were throwing fruit at each other, and we saw one cook drink from a juice container while making a drink, and one cook lick chocolate off his finger while making a crepe. The staff was least interested in serving the customers, or in paying attention to what was going on. It was extremely unusual for us to see this.. so just want to let the owners know what happens when they are not there! Honestly, this is not new to restaurants in India -- we witness this at many many places. But this is the first time we saw this at Suzette, and with the open kitchen layout plus the size of the restaurant, it was impossible to ignore the behavior of the staff.

A nice retreat

It may be a bit hard to spot this little cafe as you speed through the street, but once you get in there its like you're isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city into this calm little french joint. The ambience here is great; the food, beautiful. A personal favourite of mine is the Hot Dark Chocolate. The place feels a little crammed up, but its nice and i guess i'm going to be a regular here.

Comforting and Amazing!!

I had initially visited their Nariman Point outlet just to try the authentic crepes and boy I was amazed. The amount of options available in the simplest and prettiest of menus just blew my mind.I quote "their chocolate mousse is one of the best i have had ever".
I loved it so much that, when i came to know they opened another branch in Bandra i rushed to it this time to try the croque which is another simple yet amazing dish. Have heard a lot about their salads though haven't got a chance to try them but they are on my list. Will be back soon to sample other things. Cozy and comfy delight!! :)

J'aime Suzette!!

Once you enter this cafe you are transported to a cozy place with a serious calming effect! I love the old french like look of this place..the earthy colors with minimalistic decor is what give this cafe a place in "comfort zone".
So getting to the service - the staff here is polite and prompt. They serve with a smile on their face and who isn't happy when that happens!
Now the most important part "THE FOOD"...I've been here a couple of times and the things that have clearly not disappointed me are the buckwheat crepes and the herb oil that it is served with. I've tried the ratatouille with emmenthal, ratatouille with mozzarella and tapenade and also grilled chicken. They have always been nothing less that brilliant! Another dish which is a must have is their Chocolate mousse...its light, airy, not too sweet, perfect chocolate flavor with just a hint of coffee! and the cutting chai glass it is served in is so adorable!
Suzette is a perfect place to sit back and relax with a nice cuppa coffee and a light meal over pleasant conversations. The only disappointment with this cafe is that the fondant I've had here was gooey and chocolatey in the centre like it is suppose to be. Other than that no complains...:)

Try it out for different food!

After trying their Nariman Point outlet several times, went to the Bandra West outlet for the first time today. Tried the Provence crepe (crepe ie. desi ragi dosa with stuffing of tomatoes, spinach, olive oil) - tasted pretty. Had gone with a couple who made their own custom crepe and were pretty impressed with the food. We also tired smoozies - one with banana, yoghurt, honey and other apple, yoghurt and caramel.. both were good. So food was 5/5.

But the restaurant as other reviews rightly suggest on this website would score 0/5 on staff behaviour and service. In general, the staff in this outlet come accross as snobbish and high headed. The smoozies took really long time to an extent we thought of cancelling the order.

Sweet Breakfast

Suzette is probably my favourite breakfast place in Bandra. The crepes never disappoint especially the Nutella crepes and the Belgian chocolate crepes. The home-made caramel is divine too. The place though slightly crammed, has this French appeal to it and if you're lucky, you might spot a celebrity too!
Strongly recommended!

Bad Customer Service

Had the worst experience at Suzette ever. The owners think they are too big for their boots - the juices were stale and sour and instead trying to understand the customers problems they got defensive. The bad attitude of the owners shows that customers are not welcome at their restaurant.

Tres Terrible is more like it

I am extremely upset to be writing such a review but it really needs to be done. I use to frequent this place every week sometimes twice a week- I don't like familiarizing myself with owners or the staff and you'll understand why I have said this once you read below.

So, it was four of us girls and we had first called for a watermelon mint and peach & grape smozzies (season for peaches). The drinks came at the same time and the watermelon mint juice was brownish in colour and tasted watery and sour, as if it had gone bad. The peach and grape was extraordinarily sour and tasted of seeds and nothingness. We called the waiter and returned it- which apparently was an insult to the owners because two men walked out looking rather offended. They told us that they tasted the drink and they liked it- (Excuse me, I didn;t realize you were serving yourself and that you were the customers) There was a lot of back and forth basically a French 'pompous' man trying to teach us what smoothies/ juices taste like. Then the other friend of mine and me decided to try the Iced tea, one of the owners came out and said I'm not sure if you will like it but try a little bit in a glass first and decide, which was very nice of him. The second man came out again and told us that we would not like the Iced tea as it was very French and luxurious in the rudest possible tone- (Excuse me- did not know you owned our taste buds)
After all of this, he still came back and was very condescending telling us that we shouldn't be mad and that he is not making us pay for it. Firstly if you want to run a business in India, please do not insult Indians and secondly if you want to run a restaurant anywhere in the world-LEARN HOSPITALITY first!! Even thought this was a bad experience after so many good ones- I will not encourage people to go in here, simply because the owners do not know how to treat their customers.

Not been here but bad phone experience

Called to make a reservation and asked if I could know who I was speaking to - the reply was " what difference does it make what my name is " - I was a bit taken aback because it is standard practise when I make reservations to always ask who I am speaking too - anyways turns out it was the owner speaking - the French showing the french attitude in India too it seems ....

Btw - they do not take reservations and I am surely not going to a rude french place !!

Great place

Nice crepes. Brilliant service.
We had the Sud (Tuna) and Estragon (Chicken) and both were great. The juices and 'smoozies' are awesome too.

A bit overpriced, especially their pasta salads. The seating inside is slightly congested. Try getting a table outside.

But a good experience overall.

Suzy Ain't No Floozy

Okay, so I finally went to Suzette's a few weeks ago with my friend, Sholeen. It's pretty decent though there's a little bit of an eggy smell in the air but if you can ignore that, the rest of the place is not that bad.

What we ordered: Estragon Crepe (I think it was called that! It had a filling of chicken, dijon mustard and some other bits and pieces), Nord Crepe (filling: smoked salmon, fresh cream, lemon, dill), 2 cups of Hot Dark Chocolate

The food: Delicious. I enjoyed my Estragon crepe so much! Extremely filling, and the portion was huge.

Sholeen enjoyed her crepe too.

The chocolate: Definitely better than the ones served at San Churros, this beverage would score 4 out of 5.

Service: Eh, whatever.

Price for two (who didn't order as much): Rs. 1000

Interiors: The place is too small for my liking. Boxy.

Overall experience: Will go again just for the crepes!

Tres Bien!!!

With Dark Wooden Furniture...Suzette has a lovely warm feel to it. Also, the space available has been well utilized. The menu is well chosen. I had Crepe Foret, which was very tasteful. The blend of Spinach, Mushroom and Cheese Emmental was just perfect. Coupled with Mixed Juice of fresh Pineapple, Lime and Pomegranate it was just bliss. I also had a chance to try Crepe Complete which was very basic and had quite a subtle taste. Suzette though on expensive side has a lovely experience to offer making it a must try.

Great food but service could be better

The Pays Chicken Crepe is to die for with it's generous portion of chicken and goat's cheese caressed between lightly toasted flour mixture topped off with caramelised onions. It washes down well with an Iced Lemon Tea and that did it for me. I rate the place as 4/5 as the service could be a bit better.

Food 5/5. Overall experience negative / 5!!

Four of us went there yesterday and ordered some crepes, juices and a salad to share. Must mention that the food was awesome! The crepes were just how they are supposed to be.. authentic and yummy! However, there's a construction happening next door.. which was not only annoying but caused us a lot of trouble. To begin with, there was constant dust falling on us and on the food due to the construction. If that wasn't enough, a big rock and a cardboard sheet came falling on us from the construction site. Luckily we were all saved, including my pregnant cousin! And all the management had to say was: "We are sorry but what can we do if there's construction happening next door"! My strong recommendation.. keep the outside area closed for the duration that construction is happening! You'll lose on a few bucks from the business, but save you reviews like these!

Crepes made the right way!

We love it! Though there has been demolition and hence lot of chaos which am sure they will clear up soon but yet this places serves one of the best crepe i have ever had. The ham and egg and lthe serano ham and mozzarellla one was as good as the smoked salmon one. We even liked our carrot juice and the fruit and chocolate crepe... the only downer was the Iced tea because the sugar syrup given separately and it refused to mix with the ice cold tea.
One thing i would suggest is that they need to move out a few tables.... the place is too cramped now.

Good things in small packages!

I have been a regular at Suzette, Nariman Point ever since they started operations last year. I heard about their newly opened outlet at Bandra and thus decided to explore the place with my friends this weekend. Was heartily pleased to experience almost the same feel as town. Something that really appeals me about this place...the dark brown wooden look, off white walls, adequately lit, simple yet classy paintings on the wall and a small space for newspaper & French books and yes the music!!!
Once I was done with my comparison of the two outlets, I finally got onto what I was there for...the appetizing food & coffee! They have recently updated their menu with few new options across crepes, beverages & salads. Not many European places have enough options for veggies like me, but this place definitely is an exception. There are some really good options for us "go-green" lovers, with my personal favorite being Foret, a good blend of mushroom & creamed spinach in a perfectly cooked crepe. Where my few first timer friends experimented the non veg crepes, I stuck to my all time favorite sweet crepe, Belgian Chocolate. Yes, its as sinful as it sounds...But thats the foodie me as usual :-).
I faced service issues at this newly opened Suzette in terms of delay in our order and the waiter almost forgetting to serve us water inspite of constant reminders. I would like to believe these are mere teething problems that any new outlet goes through in their initial days. I have a special place for town Suzette and thus I sincerely hope this newly opened outlet also lives upto the town image!!
