After having this little French cafe on my list of places to try for a very long time, I finally made it here past Sunday. I arrived a little late in the evening for lunch, like about 4 PM, but the place was packed up to the brim, except for one table, which I guess was waiting for us ;) Suzzette has an open kitchen, and you're welcome to peep in if you please. Since we were there for lunch, we took a go at the Savory Crepes first. My brother went with a Complete Crepe, with sunny side up Eggs, Emmenthal and ham. This was an open top crepe. I went with a Pays Crepe, which was Grilled Chicken, caramelized onion and Goat Cheese. The crepes took about 10 minutes to arrive after the order. We also ordered two drinks: an Apple compote, yoghurt and home-made caramel Smoozie and a Citrus Juice Banana Yoghurt Smoozie. These came in a little later than we expected, i.e., not along with the food. Lets go at the crepes. All the crepe ingredients are organic in nature. The Complete Crepe had a nice texture to it, and was quite a portion to finish. If you're a chicken eater, you should go with the Pays Crepe. This was filled with the Grilled chicken in mince form, and goat cheese oozing from it. A little on the rich side, but hey, hungry souls could definitely polish it off. The drinks, were, umm, okay. Or maybe we picked not the best ones. I could not distinguish the Citrus Juice from the Banana flavor in the drink, and maybe one should have ordered the Belgian Chocolate based drinks to be getting a consistent flavour at least. Next up, we ordered the Crepe Suzette, which was going to be Orange Caramel flavored with Orange Blossom Water. This was too sweet. Too darn sweet!! There was syrup all over and maybe a lesser quantity would have helped. Maybe the restaurant should have served syrup on the side rather than poured on top. We somehow got through the end of it. All in all, the restaurant is a solid proposition if you're looking for a French Cafe ambiance in the city with comparable food to go with the French reputation. However, you should have a chat with the waitstaff to pick the best drinks and desserts to go with your palate.
