Cockroaches all Around

Visited this place the other day,and it was a very disappointing experience to say the least. We ordered for paninos which had an okay taste but the bread was grilled too much due to which it was chewy. we then ordered for a baguette which again was overly grilled, chewy and cold. To top everything we saw a cockroach crawling on the side of the table. When we complained the guy apologized and made a poker face. We had lost our appetite and thus just walked off.

Total disappointment...Cockroaches, cold chewy food...

Nothing Chocolate about it

A place that I would normally never visit, given my aversion to shakes and chocolates - I do like chocolates but not mixed in milk.

Meeting someone, who does not like coffee and wanted to try this place out and hence landed up.

The servers looked at us as if - What makes you come here? grouped as they were near a corner. Gave details grudgingly - opted for a orange granita and brownie shake.

The Granita tasted no different than a shetty place or some of the Gola wallah, whilst the brownie shake was 'sweet' overly so. This was the same order that I had tried in Ahmedabad and was respectable.

They had no answer about the difference, but guess the franchise thing does not seem ot be working.

A gaggle of kids entered when we were leaving, so maybe the wrong target?

FLY in hot chocolate

Went here on Friday - August 2 - at about 10 pm. We ordered for my all time fav Choco Lava Lava and Tiramisu Hot Chocolate. The waiter returned 5 mins later telling me that Tiramisu is not available. I instead called for Hazelnut Hot Chocolate. A few sips later there seemed to be something my mouth. To my horror it was a dead fly from inside the hot chocolate. EW!!!!!!!!

I showed it to the waiter who swiftly took it away. He returned moments later to ask (?) if I wanted a replacement. I had take barely about 5-6 sips - I thought it was obvious I needed it. But because he asked me, I chose to say NO. In any case the feeling of having a fly in mouth moments back only made me want to gargle right away and do nothing. The waiter even told that it was impossible that the fly came in from the kitchen because they use "machines". I don't care where it came from. It was there when I was consuming it within the premises.

Then the waiter came to me and asked me if he could get the cheque. I said if he wanted to - he could. The other waiter then came in and told me - our owner will call you - you need not pay.

I could have easily created a scene right away in the premises and made sure that everybody seated near me would know that there was a fly in my hot chocolate - thereby affecting the repute of the outlet. But because the waiter was kind enough to tell me that I do not need to pay and he shall ask the owner to call me - I thought I'll just walk off. In any case - people come to have a nice time - and one such incident should not spoil moods of fellow patrons.

I even asked for the comments book in which I specifically wrote that I wanted a written apology for the incident. Two days passed and there is no revert from anyone. Possibly they thought they did their bit by not charging me. Nopes. I still want an apology.

--ANOTHER CLOSURE--

WENT TO NIRMAL MALL Y'DAY DAY AND FOUND THE KIOSK SHUT
THIS IS THE THIRD OUTLET (AFTER SANTACRUZ & AIRPORT OUTLETS) BEING SHUT WITHIN A SPAN OF 1 YEAR OF ITS OPENING.

DOESN'T THAT SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE PLACE & ITS MANAGEMENT??

I AM NOT SURPRISED ....A PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO CONSISTENCY , NO VALUE FOR MONEY AND MOST MOST IMPORTANTLY NO HYGIENE AND HOSPITALITY WILL NOT LAST LONG.

ALSO, THE MANAGEMENT HAS A HABIT TO REMOVE BAD HONEST REVIEWS..ANYWAY THEY MUST UNDERSTAND THAT THE PUBLIC AIN'T STUPID!!!

Food for the soul!

If you're the one having not a sweet tooth but a sweet jaw, especially for chocolate, you'd probably want to pack your bags and start living at this place! Chocolate pizzas, chocolate frappes, pastries, ice creams, brownies, if that's the deal you're looking for, you'll love this place. Personally, I swear by the Chocolate Avalanche and the chocolate frappes at this place. Though not a big fan of the Hot Chocolate served here, the place is a temple for chocolate lovers!

as the name suggests they have a lot of variety of chocolate so anyone whose a chocolate lover has got to try it out.
i personally didnt like some things like the chocolate shot or some pastries.
but one thing which was so good that we ended up buying it 3 times in one sitting was their chocolate walnut cake. it is so good.
prices are not so bad. nice place to go and chill with some friends,

Shake me up !

Went here one evening with bunch of friends, and we ordered almost all kind of shake on the menu among us... They turned out to be quite good, The dark chocolate shake and the dutch truffle cake shake are my favourite from the lot. Oh and the choco lava lava is incredible.

The ambiance is nice, except the outside section being a little too noisy for being next to the traffic.

The service is good, and the servers quite friendly.

CHILL OUT PLACE

You would not want to go to this place for a proper dinner. You would not want to go to this place if you are not nearby. This is a kind of place to visit if you are passing by through the area. It is conveniently located on andheri west link road near fame adlabs. Beware parking is a big hassle. The coffee is good. The chocolate shots are good. Moderately priced. But we tried Italian food and were very disappointed. Please do not order Italian food here there are various better options available at a stones throw. Otherwise to generally chill out its a average place.

Been to TCR zillion times and it has never failed to impress me.The pancakes, the shakes, the chocolate shot...it has consistently kept its quality high and a great place indeed. My sister and I ensure the chocolate shot with various flavours is a must do when we are here.To add to it, the ambience is also very neatly done up.The service is great too.

My favourite place to chill!!

Ive been a regular at TCR andheri since the place opened. And I must say, that the place definitely has a repeat value! Good coffees at affordable prices, great food (the pancakes are amazing!), and chilled out ambiance! I visit TCR religiously atleast thrice a week! The waiters are warm and friendly, the owner is knowledgeable and smiling! I highly recommend the Hazelnut Granita, and the Snicker Bar Shake. And the humble coffees are pretty good too...

Do visit TCR andheri for a chilled out experience with your friends!!

Chocolatey Evening

Had been to The Chocolate Room recently. It was late evening and luckily for us it wasn't very crowded. The ambiance is very comfy and cute here to keep you sitting in there for a while at least.

We ordered for the hot chocolate, cappuccino and a sundae. All of these items were really tasty and full of chocolate as promised by the pictures on their menu card!

What I really liked is their cutlery and mugs. They have a very unique design for the stuff they serve into. The best part is that for people like me who really like diferent types of mugs, they have some of them for sale as well!

The staff is good and courteous. Overall it was a nice experience and would definitely come back with friends to have a good chocolatey time :-)

I'd visited TCR a few days after it opened for the first time - then I just had a desert (probably avalanche) but did not review it because I wanted to try out a larger part of the menu before reviewing. I've still not tried everything - but from what I have, its lovely. Specially the desserts are awesome. The choco lava lava is incredible. I've decided I'd try out every item on their menu - specifically the desserts. Prices are a bit on the higher side. We'd love to have some discounts or loyalty cards so that we we motivated to come back and save a few bucks after putting on weight and calories.

Pancake Fever!

Go here for their generous servings of Pancakes that are truly amazing. Loved the Cappuccino too. Had the fudgy Sundae today but found it just okay. Have yet to try their savory items! I thought of having a look at their chocolates and they let me and my friend taste them for free :) What a lovely server we had! Two thumbs up for TCR!!

Thank you for your review Ashrita. We look forward to provide all our customers with the very best is quality and service.

Loved it

This is my first review so bare with me :)... well there are already good reviews about their food/ drinks/ deserts.... ect ect so i wanted to mention something i liked

ill make this simple and straight forward... went there for girl time and just chillax around 6:00 yesterday...
what i really liked about the place was that i was never rushed there... most of the places in mumbai like alfredoes, bru, etc.... or any other dinning place or coffee shop wants the customer to eat and leave asap ....but this place is relaxed.

Secondly, i found out the branch is opened by 5 friends, so the place has a nice vibe between all the people working there... and pets are allowed there... played with a cute puppy there

we had 2 pasta, 1 paninos and the fondue among 4... burrrrrrp .....hehe :) .... no complain and easy on the pocket...

and thanks to everyone else for reviews and burrp for making finding places like this easy... people should do this more often

TCR ROCKS!!

YES YES YES YES!!!!

Finally a dessert place which lives up to its name. Don't get me wrong. I have visited place just once and instantly fell in love with it.

It was Wednesday night and we girls were planning to head out for some coffee after catching a flick. But our craving over took us and we decided to go for some ice cream or more. (our little secret)

Saw The Chocolate Room open at midnight and thought that we might just give it a try.

The menu itself caused an argument among us friends; deciding which item to go for. Finally settled for the chocolate fondue. It was amazing. Then we tried the Chocolate Pizza. This was even better. Took time to prepare, but was worth the wait.

If you love chocolates - this place will scream for you attention and it will not disappoint. It has a variety of unique options in chocolate - like chocolate crepes, pizzas etc...

You may have to revisit the place to try all the available options! Besides the chocolate crepe which was decadent, tried the Mexican wrap...which was spicy and really yum.

You have outdoor seating option, which is quite pleasant in the evenings. They provide takeaways too...so it's quite convenient to pack something and go. And the staff is very friendly. We friends have got ourselves a new hangout.

disaster dessert shop...

there was the description of the Australian-chain The Chocolate Rom mentioned at several places on the web. Without beating around the bush, I'd say, The Chocolate Room fails to live up to the promise of being a 'chocolateria'. you better have enough varieties of chocolate on your menu. The flagship or signature item hot chocolate and waffle eas oily to taste, the chocolate dip it comes along isn't the best quality chocolate too, and the price for the measly portion is not funny. The food menu needs a price re-check (although that is not going to happen considering it is an international chain and wants to position itself in the premium segment), and the servers, staff need some training. I say this because the attendants could not answer our queries about the menu, beverages. The glasses were stinking and a whole bottle of mineral water that we poured in them was wasted. Only because you step in, all excited to try the new chocolateria in town, you will have to order something from whatever little there is to choose.

Lovely

In the hot and humid climate of Mumbai, I'd recommend u drop by TCR for a refreshing Irish coffee after your shopping spree at Infinity Mall... Fyi note that the Chocolate Room happens to be an Australian franchise... Will come back again to try your paninis and sandwiches for sure... They also seem to offer free wifi and the staff is quite friendly and cheerful... Definitely a fresh alternative to CCD's and Baristas...

Wonderful Chocolate Paradise

Unfortunately, I did visit this place after a hearty meal and couldn't really order much.
The experience was so awesome, that am certain for multiple visits to this place soon.
The Menu here was just awesome. 4-5 pages of Menu for Cakes, Chocolates, Sundaes, Ice-Creams, Milk Shakes and some food too like Panini, pasta, sandwiches etc. Since, I was there after my lunch, I just ordered for a Sundae - Blondie Sundae. And it was just Yummy. Rs. 139 for the Sundae and it was good enough for two. So, I'd say very much worth the price. Hence, I have it in mind to go and try all the other Sundaes and Chocolate Stuff atleast. All cakes and pastries are egg-less. There was a special menu for Chocolate Shots. Yes. That is again very tempting.
Seating arrangements were decent enough. Good, if you are just a couple of friends/family members wanting to spend some some time together.
Repeat, The chocolates, cakes looked so yummy, I actually wanted to taste everything. :P

Unique Menu!

We were headed to BRU world cafe but got sidetracked by "The Chocolate Room", so decided to try it out. We learned from the owner (who's a very friendly lady) that this is an Australian franchise.
The menu was quite unique and had a variety of items naturally with chocolate as the main ingredient. However, it also had hot sandwiches and the likes. We tried the choco-troppo (sp?) pancake, a mocha latte, and a coffee crumble... all done very well and tasted divine, with a great presentation. They also bake their own unique chocolate creations, the highlight of which was chocolate Taj-Mahals! Quite the skill!

The place is a small but have a big patio. My only beef was there were too many flies, but I suppose little can be done about that in Mumbai? I'd give it 4.5 stars but what the hell... here's all 5.
