"the chocolate room -ANDHERI BRANCH"
WENT TO "the chocolate room -ANDHERI BRANCH"
... A FEW DAYS BACK ... IT FALLS IN THE AREA OF MY WORK PLACE ..AFTER WHICH I HAD TO PEN DOWN A REVIEW-
A. OUR ORDER GOT MIXED UP AND CAME IN 40 MINS AFTER
B. PRICING... TOO STEEP FOR THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY THEY OFFER
C. FOOD TOTALLY TASTELESS AND MR.OWNER CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT LAUGH!
D. LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST, READ A POST ON "F/B" THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE FALLEN ILL AFTER EATING HERE.
I RATHER SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY AT CANDIES(BANDRA)..SAN CHURROS(BANDRA) ..CHOCOLATE HEAVEN (JUHU)..ETC..
ALSO GOT TO KNOW THAT ONE OF THEIR STORES HAS ALREADY SHUT SHOP, AND I AM QUITE CERTAIN OTHERS WILL FOLLOW SUIT .
Have they moved?
I headed out for some desserts last weekend but to my disappointment I found out that they have shut the Santacruz branch.
However, It seems that there is another Chocolate Room in Andheri right next to Citi Mall. Conveniently located right next Alfredos.
You can reach them on 022-6127-1117.
And yes, they have breakfast and home delivery.
NOT GOOD NOT BAD
We went to this place after lunch, it took us quite sometime to actually find it ,after asking many people we finally reached the place. Its situated in the lane after Rajesh khanna garden if one is going from khar .
AMBIENCE- The place looks good, has comfortable seating, the colours are nice n bright but the music in the background does seem to play loudly and we had to request them to reduce the volume so we could hear each other talk, there is indoor as well as outdoor seating.
FOOD-We had the chocolate shots(rs-49) & chocolate sundae (rs 130)
The shots were too sweet tasting like melted chocolate & the sundae was average.
From what we had there i felt that it was an ok place not bad not great ,average place.
SERVICE-The staff was helpful & friendly
Its an ok place to try out once but with so many options available around its hard to keep goin back to the same place
I have seen the bad reviews posted here. And I myself had an below avg. experience here when I visited mid October. I had complained to the franchisee manager in Gujarat about the issues posted here.
He was also concerned about Santacruz branch. They had increased the prices without approval of the master franchisee. They have already been served with a termination notice.
The manager seems least concerned prior to the termination notice. However, his IQ level for being a manager is still pretty low.
Anywayz, heard there is another Chocolate room coming up in Andheri. Located somewhere near RedBox. Looking forward to that.
Not as expected
If you are a die-hard chocolate lover....you love chocolate...please do not visit this place....the ambiance is good.....the quality sucks....big time...i had chocolate banana split sundae...the banana was not good...there was no balance in flavours....and they charged me Rs.50 per hour for using wifi....
Doesnt know the S for Service
The server who took my order had absolutely NO CLUE what each dish contained. He kept running behind the counter to figure out ingredients and preperation.. even for the simple thing like potato wedges with cheese sauce. Well, when the dish did arrive, it was served without side plates, silverware and the CHEESE SAUCE. On asking for each, I was told the following:
1. We do not give forks with this dish.
2. We dont think plates are required.
3. The cheese sauce will take some time
The sauce arrived after I was pretty much done with the wedges in an excuse of a bowl containing not more than a tablespoon of some grainy, jelly like substance. It had the consistency of mashed potatoes and most definitely did not taste or smell like cheese.
The head manager did not have a reasonable explanation for the service and immediately took back the sauce as he saw me play with it in disgust.
The Lindt Dark Chocolate Milkshake (which wasnt worth its cost) was the saving grace of the meal. The wedges weren't half bad either, but I urge you not to ruin a nice evening at a restaurant that doesnt know how to serve.
After a nice dinner with my group of friends, we headed to the chocolate room for dessert. Definitely not a chocolate haven, I could describe it as a place with international depict but desi touch. No offence to the management but most of the things on the menu read 'trying hard to impress'. We finally settled down to hazel nut hot chocolate which was average and sizzling smashed muffin which was nothing but a muffin (which didn't taste like one) with an ice cream scoop placed on sizzler plate drizzled with chocolate sauce. Again, fancy name for desi item.
The things on display counter also didn't seem to be appetizing. Infact, a dessert bar at our creme cafes would be worth spending for.
Just didn't work for us here and there was nothing Australian about it!
nothing official about it ah ha
Sandwiches to much of msg / food addictive skip it , chocolates products were ok , fresh cream products suck , they use a synthetic soy based white kind of liquid and replace it with fresh cream .... not good . just go there for the normal hot chocolate and the pure chocolate stuff , price wise they should reduce the bill by at least 25 % . Service was slow
pour Chocolate lovers....
Yes its located in an isolated lane inside of Santacruz.. but its a paradise for chocolate lovers.. Their chocolate shake's and cupcakes, pasteries, cake etc are all so sinful... you wouldnt know which one to order out of the wide range provided...
Its not over priced , its moderate....
everything right from their display to the ambience to the staff whcih is very humble and polite.... its the place to be for desserts... snacks are also sumptous...
The thing to look out for is definitely Chocolate fondue, (feels like ur in heaven) n the taj- mahal structured pastry that they offer...
all in all its a chocoLATTY experience... sure as hell a place to pile up ur calories..
Had gone there post dinner for desserts. Found the place after calling twice for directions. The place is done up very well. Brightly lit cheerful place. Has courteous polite staff. The food though is just about average. The waffles were over done. The churros not enough and felt a bit soggy. The chocolate granita was nothing to write home about. I'd recommend San Churro over this any day.
For the love of Chocolate
I visited them last week with my wife as a casual visit one late night. We were pretty much happy to see such a good joint in our neighborhood. It was a well lit place with good ambiance. The staff was very courteous and explained the variety at length. We agreed to their suggestion and were not at all disappinted. The smoothies and the shots were really upto the mark. Since, it was summer season, we didn't wanna try the hot chocs, but intend to go there again in monsoon or winter.
One particular thing we were unhappy was the pricing. For a newly opened joint, to have such pricing was a little surprising. Moreover, the so called 'VAT' was really a burden. The management should really look in that aspect and work out some way to lower the prices.
Secondly, the choice of location was also disappointing. The road is narrow, with almost no parking facility.
Also, they claim it to be a pure vegetarian outlet but, the smoothies contain imported chocolates like Tobleron, etc which contain eggs. The manager didn't know about it; which was pretty surprising.
So, all and all a good experience with a few negative remarks and hence, I rate it 3 stars.
A Roomful of Chocolate and more...
Hi everyone! Been to The Chocolate Room recently which is a huge respite from other over-hyped cafe outlets. Located at North Avenue in Santacruz, the place is an apt choice if you are looking for something away from the bustling roads and crowded joints. Once we were there it was a great experience throughout. Firsty, the ambience is very chilled out with good music playing. They also have the IPL playing on their LCD. The seating is quite innovative and a pleasnt change from the regular chairs and tables. There is a lounge area too which can be used for group get-togethers etc.
The staff makes your while at TCR a lot comfortable. Coming to the most important part of a restaurant..the food. We were amazed by the variety on the menu and besides the menu too. Yes they have specials everyday apart from the regular menu. We went for their speciality hot chocolates served in cute cups called "cuddle cups". It was just perfect.Loved the hazelnut flavour in it. Lindt Chocshake is just to die for! Time for some croques and wraps... French croque was good. Caesar salad wrap with cheese was fantastic and dressing oozing out of is worth trying.
The place is value for money and a great hang out spot. Looking forward to many more visits. Good work The Chocolate Room!
