Arrogant Staff

The staff at irish house is super arrogant. Moreover the managers who roam around in the blue Blazer are 10 Times more arrogant. The place is usually crowded. whn i asked the manager to get me a table he said " cant u see its crowded" . I told him to inform he once a table got free. He told me "u wil hav to find one urself incase u see a table free". they dont even add chairs at d bar counter on the weekends. how can u expect a lady to stand for hours on end without a seat. We are regulars to this place and inspite of that we are treated in such a fashion.
and the biggest problem is that they dont serve u a 3 Litre Pitcher if u are in a group of 3 people. I mean wat kind of treatment is that. When we complain to the manager he says these are the rules. wat kind of rules are these. the hospitality industry isnt supposed to function like this. Just coz u hav a lot of People frequenting ur bar and given the fact that u dont hav a lack of business that dusnt giv u the right to treat people like Shit.
I want to end this on a positive note so : 1)Excellent Food 2) Good Music 3) Good Ambience.

irish way

Irish House offers a perfect hangout spot for post work Drinks which can then be turned into a late night out without a doubt. The service is a thumbs up, the drink selection deserves a special mention for the beers it offers. The food can be a let down for Vegetarians.Snacks are good and the staff attentive and friendly. It gets pretty busy with after work drinkers but he atmosphere was great the two nights we visited.

Terrible Experience

I am surprised reading the reviews about this place. I recently visited the Irish House Kala Ghoda, and I am terribly disappointed. As soon as we placed our orders, the waiter brought us the bill. I have never been to a restaurant where they bring you the bill before they bring you the food. We were busy settling the bill instead of having the food when it had arrived. Such a bizarre place. The food was cold by the time we got to it. Also, the portions of the food were small too, also not worth the price. The only thing nice is the decor, and the music. Rude staff. Never coming back to this terrible place again

Best Party place

This is one of my favourite weekend party scenes. Recently have started couple entries. This place is open till around 2 and sometimes streches even later on saturdays. The musics good, food is great, overall ambiance is amazing making it the perfect party venue. Must try's would be the nachos- veg or meat both are good, the Irish Lions- chicken tenders are really good. A must visit place.

Steak and Kidney Pie

The food here is actually pretty average. One thing worth having is the steak and kidney pie. The faux decor isn't bad.

Wonderful Huge Place with Irish touch

We hopped from Local to Irish house. The place is great and huge. Good interiors giving Irish touch. Beer varieties are great. Tap beers awesome and fresh. Food is somewhat expensive but when we go in pub, we focus on drinks and fun. Sometimes you feel more crowd than the place can handle because so many people like this place. Keep it up!!!

Truly Irish!!

I made it to this place on a saturday evening with my friend after office hours. Packed house with a very good crowd. Good edm music were being belted out and the patrons were happily shaking a leg and letting their hair down. Think they have Hoegarden on tap! I definitely wont think twice before going again although this is slightly expensive. One of the better places in Mumbai!

Great Vibe...Stay Away From The Cocktails

Been to Irish House often from work and in time to enjoy their happy hours. The best thing is that it is applicable on everything and not just domestic liquor. High ceiling and extremely roomy, the place has a very welcoming feel. Perfect for post office drinks and it usually fills up by 7, 7:30. They play amazing music with a lot of classics tossed it. Overall the right kind of ambiance to get some drinking done and let your hair down.

Food: Every time we go usually land up ordering the same 3 - 4 veg starters. Wish they would add some specials or spruce up the menu. The grande nachos is really grande topped with oodles of sour cream, beans, salsa and cheese. The marinate in the paneer is yum with a paneer tikka meets oriental buzz. The bruschetta is different with a soft base and drizzle of cheese. Cheese Chilli toast and onion rings are ordinary only to be ordered if you have a yen for either. Of all I think the first two stole the show while the rest existed as supporting actors.

Drinks: I've tried numerous cocktails but for some reason they just can't do it well.

Service: Can be a little slow with the staff a bit dim sometimes.

It's the closest place from office where large groups can be accommodated, so will be going back. I wish they would get a mixologist and get their drinks sorted.

good drinks cool ppl, nice music

Went to this place last sunday with wife, turned out they were celebrating St. Patricks day. It was full and looked bit chaotic with live music, so wasn't sure if to stay or go somewhere else. decided to stick around, so we settled ourselves at bar. I was tempted to drink cold beers but couldn't cause of sore throat , bartender promptly recommended to have cognac with some hot water n honey. Wife was sipping on nicely made whisky sour. we ordered some starters which were ok. I tried Irish coffee cocktail on bartenders recommendation as i was in mood for some more hot drinks. loved it the way it was presented, must mention it was my better half who drank most of it.
Got to say band played some really classic tracks. so we stayed till the end. service throughout was good. Got to admit thought we both were bit shocked (good way) while leaving to see the bartender who was serving us, put on managers coat, leaving bar.
definitely gona be back .

Fraudsters . . .Horrible Experience

Fraudsters . . . Horrible Experience!!!!!!!!!

Yes I mean it . . . had the worst experience of hospitality service. We 3 gals went to enjoy drinks for birthday. We order Balllatines Finest scotch and starters. The steward poured coke (complimentary with spirts) into the drink which was so flat on soda that the drink tasted like sugar syrup. I complaint the steward and warned him to serve fizzed coke with the next drink but again he got the same flat coke and without our acknowledgment poured it and spoilt the second drink as well. He said that they use coke dispenser and not bottles and would serve the same no fizz coke. I was annoyed and complaint the manager and asked him to serve me a can of coke. He agreed to serve and later the waiter comes and says that they would charge for the coke which was really pissing. The waiter was so annoying that he kept coming every next minute to the table to pick up tissues spoons and dishes. My friend was still eating her meal and he came more than 5 times to take off her dish. I really didn’t understand what was his problem, either he was a new guy or wanted us to order more food even though we had ordered four dishes.

The height was when we placed the last order and instead of Ballantines scotch he served us some cheap quality whisky thinking that we would not be able to recognize the difference in taste. When I complaint the manager he refused to accept. We were 100% sure that we were served something else so I even bet him that I would pay double the bill if I was wrong so he went a little low on his fake confidence and said that he would check the CCTV footage and as expected he returned back saying that the drinks were not mixed. When I asked him to show the CCTV coverage he refused to show and say “m’am your first drink was Ballantine” when I had clearly told him in the beginning that the issue was with the last drink and then he says ” oh I thought you complaint of all the drinks”. To escape and prove himself right like a foolish he got an empty Ballantines bottle saying that this bottle was served to us and I still wonder how was he trying to prove that?????? He further got a shot glass and poured few drops that were sticking to the empty bottle and asked me tp taste which obviously was Ballatines. I asked him as well to taste both the drinks to see the difference to which he said he was fasting. I told him to get any guy from the floor to taste the difference to which again he refused. We made a bill of 8k and this is the kind of customer service we got. I really wonder how IRISH House affords to give this kind of service for the brand it is!!!

Dear Manager (though I know and can refer you by your name and easily take you class) I hope u know something called as “customer service”. If I was persistent that the wrong drink was served u could have simply said “We have served the right drink but if you are unsatisfied we could replace the drink”. I too run a restaurant at Fort and it is not much if I expect these basic etiquettes from you.

Highly Disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room For Improvement

Its a nice place to hang out with friends. They have good happy hoours where you can afford booze.Service is good and ambiance is excellent.
The problem is they dont have enough starters.Portions served for some starters is less.Food looks over priced. If somehow management comes with good starters and food at moderate price then nothing like this place :)

Terrible Experience, Embarrassed by Manager

My friend and I recently had a terrible and embarassing customer service experience at the Irish House location in Kala Goda, Mumbai.

On Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 7:55 PM we arrived at the bar. A sign stated that happy hour went until 8 PM, and the hostess confirmed that it was still happy hour. The happy hour special was buy one get one free on all drinks. We went to the bar, engaged in casual conversation with a couple of customers sitting there about how we were just in time for happy hour drinks, then ordered a King Fisher beer and a glass of white wine. The bartender brought me two King Fishers, and walked away. I assumed he was getting the white wine for my friend, however he never returned.

I immediately approached a waiter and told him the situation. The waiter said he would bring us our drinks, but despite my repeated attempts to flag him down, he never returned. Finally we asked another waiter, who also went to the bar to inquire but never returned. I managed to talk to the first waiter who told us that it was now after happy hour and we could not get the drinks. I explained that we had ordered before happy hour ended but the bartender had made a mistake and not brought us our drinks. At this point the waiter brought us a glass of white wine for my friend, but did not bring us the free drink. I asked him where it was and he said he would bring it, but never returned.

Finally, I asked to speak to the manager. The bartender who served us came over and claimed to be the manager. He told us that we came in well after happy hour and he was charging us full price for all of our drinks— both King Fishers and the glass of wine— and that I had not placed the order that I said. He insinuated that we were lying to him and got very angry with us. At this point, my friend and I were exasperated by the poor service, and decided to leave our drinks and the establishment. We got out things to go and the manager started yelling for security. At this point, two other customers who we had a friendly conversation with when we arrived overheard the manager yelling at us, and also became involved. Since we had talked to them about the happy hour specials and noted the time when we entered, they backed us up saying we had ordered what we ordered before happy hour ended and should not be charged for all the drinks. The manager refused to relent and just got more and more angry. His behavior was entirely inappropriate and he treated us like we were attempting to extort his business. When the other customers backed up our story, he relented to a point, and charged us only for one King Fisher and a glass of wine, despite the fact that we were still owed a second glass for free that we never received. I demanded the corporate e-mail address and the manager’s name. The manager repeatedly refused to give me his name. I told him that all corporations have a policy that an employee must give some sort of identifying information to an inquiring customer, yet he still refused getting more and more belligerent every time.

Appalled at the service, my friend and I obviously left the restaurant feeling angry, cheated, and annoyed. On the way out, we asked the hostess what the name of the manager was, and she told us several managers were working, but the one who was yelling at us was named, I believe, Brovind.

Despite the fact that I live in India and am frequently in South Mumbai, I will not be returning to this business unless I can be guaranteed better service next time.

Mixed feelings about the place

First off: Let's talk about the good things. The food we ordered was fresh. However the Caesar salad was loaded with mayo- every single leaf seemed to be dipped in it- couldn't eat much of it. The potato wedges were crispy and the dips were good. The beef and kidney pie was steaming hot and tasted good.
Now for the bad stuff: We were almost eaten alive by mosquitoes- not something you would expect in an air-conditioned environment. It being a Saturday, we went in early, but were denied a table even though there were so many empty. Most tables are meant for large crowds we were just a couple. We were asked to stand at the bar or share a table with some other people. We shared the table because we didn't want to stand. My husband ordered Hoegaarden draught. It wasn't too good. He says that the draught beer at the Phoenix Mills branch of this pub is better. The music was mostly gangsta-rap, After about an hour of tolerating that noise, we told the manager that this wasn't the kind of music we expected in an Irish pub and requested him to play some rock. He said, and I quote, "Indians like this kind of music". We said that wasn't the case. He went away and changed the music to POP! That went on for a few minutes before they switched back to rap. Then after a while it was switched to techno and house. By this time we gave up and left.
Verdict: The Irish House at Phoenix Mills is WAY better in all aspects- music, food, ambience and drinks. We love that place and will only visit that branch in the future.

Good experience, bit expensive, food can better

On the upside, the ambiance and interior is really good. Gives a good feel of a European pub. Would be a really nice place to have some beer with friends and watch a game. On the downside, quite expensive. You do get good Imported Beer like Hoegaarden but those come at steep prices. And the food is not up to the mark either. Saturdays can be a difficult day to get a table. All in all, really good experience, would definitely recommend to try.
