Ok Food Terrible Service

My parents have recently been to this place for the buffet lunch. The food was simply ok ok. Nothing special. The service totally sucks. There were 4 tables only full, with just 2 people to serve. When you say buffet I would have expected food up on display and we take how much we want.

But they decided to give us a menu to tick and choose what all we want and it will be served on your table. Most of the items that I had ticked on the menu was not served on my table. For the veggies only 1 dish of paneer was served and absolutely nothing else. I had to ask the guys serving for where are the other dishes which I had ticked and none of them gave appropriate responses.

You have to wait for 15 - 20 mins before the next dish is served to your table. What kind of a buffet is this? And honestly I have had much better tasty food at many other restaurants.

If this restaurant wants to survive then they need to work on getting their act together rather than putting fake reviews and getting people to try out bad food and bad service.

Beware of this restaurant

This is a unique restaurant in giving gift vouchers. We were given gift 2 vouchers of Rs. 2000/- each by our friends. Before going there, we inquired about validity of the vouchers. They said is validy, come for lunch or dinner as our special rates are going on. When we went there with family, we found it was like a conference room & not hotel. When we inquired about menu they showed us the manu which was socking. Printed dinner rate was 350 + tax while what we were shown was rs. 1500/- plus tax. When we inquired why this rate is different than you print rate? They said we have SPECIAL rate of gift vouchers. This is something unique for us. We have never heard of two different rate cards. Who is going to eat for Rs. 1500/- plus tax for a person in a non standard, non grade hotel? This is nothing but fooling peole. I advice not to visit this place because of this type of double standard & second this is more like a conference room than a hotel. Please do not waste your time in visiting this hotel.

Money wasted. Day spoilt.

It was my birthday and we wanted to try some place new, so landed up here. I liked the place but the food was bad, service was atrocious. It felt like they are shutting down after a clearance sale....without offering discounts. It's not worth the money. By spending the same amount I could have had a better experience at a better place. I regret going there.

Good food but depressing ambience.

To my surprise there was not a single table booked on Tuesday and the whole restaurant was empty. Also we were told about happy hours on Tuesday. We ordered many dishes and found it pretty good. However. The ambience did not appeal to its name. They need to make people notice about this place. Overall once should be tried out with family.

Not upto the mark.

To begin with I didn't really find the ambiance that appealing, it felt just too white. Understanding that its a wedding cafe but then weddings are not all white in my view. Moving to the seating, i would have appreciated iron or steel chairs, wooden chairs feel just too cheap for the place.
The food was okay nothing out of the world and the enchiladas that we ordered were just so spicy that we had to leave it. coming to the deserts, they were just ordinary.
The menu was not really appealing as the writings were too small probably a larger font would have worked.
The service was pretty slow and I just found one guy serving each and everyone.

The reason I am giving 2 stars is only for the music, that's the only thing I thoroughly enjoyed.

Staff needs Training!!

Food is good...tables are very shaky...Also, the waiter/attendant continuously stands on ur Head...intruding privacy of the diners...they seemed too over-zealous in attending 2 d diners n taking their feedback on food, place, etc...even though they hav a form 4 d same wich most diners duly fill!! Wud appreciate if diners are given their space...

Prefect Spot for a Date!

Amazing ambiance with a wide range of food and liquor to choose from.
The perfect place for a cozy romantic date.
The big turn off was its shaky tables, due to which we changed our table twice.
Also, the place is expensive, if you are planning to give a treat to your dear one's then be prepared to shed a handsome amount.

Good Food - Misplaced Music

The food at Wedding Cafe is really good - a lot of their fare is pretty unique compared to other restaurants in this price range. We had the Fricassa - if you like mushrooms, I would definitely recommend this. I also had a Lebanese stew with okra, chickpea and cottage cheese - the rice that comes with it is plain but the stew is tangy, very much like some of the stews from South India. I also dug in to some Veg Pojarski - the presentation of the dish was delectable and it tasted really good.

Having said this, the music (Retro/ 80's pop) is really misplaced - it neither goes with the name 'Wedding Cafe' or with the cuisine. Service can improve - waiters sometime forget about you, especially if you are sitting in the top tier. They also tend to chatter loudly while watching F TV on the LCD TV.

I would still recommend the place purely for the food, the decor and the fact that there is hardly anyone there.

Band, Baajaa, Baraat

Located on Andheri’s very much buzzing, traffic choked and crowded Link Road, above the Mercedes and Apple showroom; Wedding Café’s is the newest addition to the burbs. With an exterior brightly lit like a house where someone is to wed, the interiors were quite a contrast, soothingly lit in mellow lighting. The place isn’t much of a café, more like a lounge; it has an impressive bar area, sofa’s for the lougy feel, the dining tables and private dining areas. Earlier they had a designer store by Umair Zafar which is now being converted into another private dining area. The wedding café brings into India the new trend of themed restaurants that have already been popular abroad. The Café is positioned to be a one stop shop for wedding planning – with the owners, the Lucknowalla’s wedding planning consultancy called Vivaah, and tie-ups that offersolutions from the mehendi, outfits to jewellery. Novel concept but popularity? we still need to wait and see.
Coming back to the place, everything at the café was white in a very western way. Whoever designed this place took the concept of the ‘white wedding’ too seriously. From the table covers, a frosty white lace to the walls, eggy white to the annoying lampshade in the middle of the table again white. Frankly I was sort of disappointed to see a lack of the whole Indian shaadi touch to the place. I’d expected to see bright coloured dupattas for white curtains, diyas instead of electric lamps, genda phool instead of roses. Yeah am a sucker for Indian traditional wedding, s Chopra style, those that start with mere haathon mein 9 -9 chudiyaan hai and end with Shahrukh Khan devouring his phirni. But I am not complaining the the dim lighting, rose pink brass cutlery and not to forget nice techno music made for pleasant ambience.
Coming down to the food! Oh wait did I mention the menu looks like a wedding album? Oh yes a long horizontal wedding album which lists down the menu along with perspective honeymoon places! So ladies whenever you want to make the hint take the guy there :P. Also the menu boasted of Italian, Spanish, French, American and Japanese cuisine. Every dish also had a wine written below indicating the ‘Perfect Match’. Impressive
Finally coming down to the food, we started with the soups. The first one a Cream of Asparagus, which was light, creamy, mildly flavoured in short quite nice but the killer was the Cream of Chicken Soup – lighly flavoured and creamy with chicken juliennes the broth should be truly embodies what is called chicken soup for the soul. The soups were served with toasted garlic bread which just added to the delight.
Moving on to the appetizers we ordered for Vegetarian Tapas. Tapas is a Spanish word for snacks, usually served with drinks (See More in World Café Section). The presentation of this dish was brilliant, but taste wise it was quite a disappointment. The tofu, deepfried and crusted in a bland black cover, the veg balls tasted like koftas gone bad, the sautéed mushrooms were very okay, the Mozrella sticks were palatable and the stir fried vegetables were insipid. The next dish was the Shrimps on Skewers – which tasted delectable with butter garlic sauce painted on it. However the shrimps tasted a bit stale, not fresh succulent.
Moving on to the main course, we ordered for the Fettucini with Basil and Grape tomatoes – the flat pasta cooked in scarlet red tomato and basil sauce was fiery and flavourful. The Chicken Marsalla – chicken grilled to golden brown perfection stuffed with mushrooms topped over saffron flavoured risotto (there is a choice between mashed potato and saffron risotto, choose the risotto) was brilliant from the well cooked chicken steak to the flavoured mushrooms and mild saffron milky flavor of the risotto, the dish was a delight. The next dish – the Costa Rican Stuffed Tortilla with Pumpkin Sauce - a sort of rajma wrapped in tortilla was too dry and lacked any kind of flavor. And pumpkin sauce? Is that even edible?
In dessert we ordered for the Love Boat – with again looked really impressive on presentation but tasted nothing better than a Mongenise pastry. Not the goeey melt in the mouth kind
On the whole, the place had some really good moments and some not so good ones. The vegetarian food needs some serious working on. Priced on the richer side of the world, a meal for 2 would cost anything between 750 – Rs 1000 w/o alcohol
Verdict
Food: Mixed bag
Staff: Hospitable
Ambience: Good
QuickTip: ‘To be Weds’ come here with the folks, yours and the laws, for a nice continental ambience and meal. Or ditch the folks and come celebrate your last few days of singledom with your single friends, who are turning green out of jealousy and those that are married, who will tell you about the ‘grass’ that may be greener but is also catching fire on the other side. Whoever you come with try and order as much as non veg.

Dear Sunayan

Thank you for giving us a frank review for the restaurant. We always are eager to hear a 360 degree honest feedback for our services as it fuels our endeavor to be better at our services. The Chicken Marsalla is a signature dish from Chef Swarup Samant. We would highly recommend you to also try Hungarian Goulash on your next visit if you enjoy mutton dishes. Also, we have reworked our veg menu to add more disishes. As for the dessert, I would definitely share your comments with the chef so that it can me made more soft.

only thing good is the interior ! ! !

WELL! what do i say!
what a beautiful interior!! erm... and i m out of words!!
the only thing good about this place is the interior!
staff- they wont give you any privacy, they will stand on your head! ogling at you!!
food was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!!
music- well kinda boring! we are there for dinner ! not to jive or something
over all i would give 2/5 !
they have cute carry bags tho :) :P

Looking forward to serving you better the next time you dine with us.

Elegant affair! :)

I was dieing to go to this place.. i got lucky and snapdeal featured an offer..i immediately took it.. and am so glad i did!
firstly the interior is BEAUTIFUL!Its simply..yet extremely elegant..!the entire ambience is soooo beautiful and grand.. u feel overwhelmed..!We got out table.. and the table also was set beautifully..the glass, the plates.. eveyrthign was wonderfully set! The menu card is sooooo enormous and they have so much to offer..! ull prolly be lost in the beauty of the card! They had food frm each and every part of the world!
We ordered 'Penne pasta in white wine with cream and herbs'..it was beautifully cooked..! the cream and herbs really came across while eating and the flavour of oregano was dominant in teh pasta! totally worth it!WE then ordered 'kebab e joojeh' which is actually a lebanese dished.. which had lebanese chicken with saffron falvoured mayyo and cous cous sauce and rice..!the presentation of teh dish was so Awesome tht it really makes u hungry! the chicken was succlucent..perfectly grilled.. and teh mayyo and cous cous sauce plus the rice were to die for!
Now the negative point-
1)The quantity is too less..! too the food is awesome.. but they really need to increase the portions!
2)The service is horrible! They are never their to attend you! plus if u sit on teh top.. the waiter barely comes..! they need to work bigtime on their service!
overall.. a lil pricey.. but seriosuly totally worth it!loved it! cant wait to go back!

Besst Birthdaay everrrr!! :D

Oh my god…I went there with my girlfriends last week to celebrate my birthday and I actually had butterflies in my stomach with all the excitement. We danced like crazy till 2:00 am. The Wedding Café coordinated with my friends and gave me such an amazing surprise with my favorite Hawaiian Fruit cake... I’ll remember it forever!

The Traditional collection by Umair Zafar was awesome! Amazing stock!! The food made me feel like I am on a world tour with all types of cuisine. And the Paneer steak with Makhani sauce was the besssst !!

Overall, the food, music, ambience and the service was fantastic! The place was definitely more than a cut above the rest. I absolutely loved itt. Best birthday everrrr! The entire wedding ambience makes me wanna get married!!!

Now here's some Quality Stuff!!

I came here along with my friends through an offer we got at Snapdeal and we never thought in our wildest dreams that we’d get to see such a beautiful place in Andheri! It was totally an astounding experience guys! The food here is so damn awesome and what impressed me the most was the ample varieties they provide us with. If you have a sweet tooth (like I do) then you just can’t afford to miss the blueberry muffin. The ambience….which is beautiful, I won’t tell you much about it coz you actually have to see it to believe it… Priceless!

Unprofessional

These guys put up a deal on Snapdeal but the refused to honour it which was extremely unprofessional. The Stupid Excuse that they gave me was that the offer in the deal was a printing mistake (What Idiots !!!). I don't understand why do these people put up deals when they cant honour them & they had the ***s to defend not honouring it (that too with a stupid excuse).

Go here at your own risk. You might not know & there might be a printing mistake on the Menu.
