Welcome back to our second issue of burrp! trek. Let's quickly get some news out of the way before we move on:
Here's the latest with what's happening at burrp:
- New Years 2007 - We've done our best to provide Mumbaikers and Bangaloreans with a comprehensive list of New Year's parties in their respective cities. You can check out Mumbai's here, and Bangalore's here. If you have any to add, please send them to nye@burrp.com
- Celebrity Sighting - Our Mumbai portal was surprisingly graced with a newly created profile of a talented Bollywood star. He's even written a review! I think those are enough clues - now can you find out who it is?

Inviting the New Year in your style...
We tried to handpick some of the best in the business and this is what we came up..
- Mumbai trail: A true foodies way to bring in the new year. Begin the evening walking through the streets of Colaba, gulp some beers or juices at Mondegar or Leopold at Colaba. Take a boat ride at Gateway. Take some time off to reflect on the year gone by. Have some pani puri and bhel at Chowpatty, get on a bus ride to Juhu. At Juhu get yourself a reservation at one of your favourite restaurants like 11 Echoes, Little Italy, Don Giovanni and laze through dinner till midnight. Walk through the beach maybe try out a local kulfi. Move to a coffe shop to unwind over some coffee and then go home with friends and watch a DVD together.
- Movie buffs: For the movie buffs buy yourself tickets to 3 different movies and watch them back to back . Starting from the 6pm show. Take a lot of food packages with you in your bag just like how you would take your tiffins to school and maybe something to spike your cold drinks.
- Sea sailor: If the ocean is what you like, get yourself a ticket on the big ship to Alibaug from Gateway of India around 4p.m. Unwind and reflect on the year gone by as the sun sets for the last time this year. Try out the local authentic malwani cusine at a restaurant over some alcohol and then take the ship back home.
- Dhaba style: Another cheap way to celebrate your new year is to buy your own booze and park your self at any of the Dhabas on the highway. A sea food dhaba (can't recollect the name) on the Dahisar highway. Or the Konkan Kinara or Daras Dhaba. You could also drive to the Karnala bird sanctuary where there a couple of local dhabas.

This month, the food is free and the drinks are on the house for "Gaurav" as he takes the honours to become the Burrp'er of the Month.
Gaurav recently joined the Burrp! community and has already written quite a few reviews. We picked him as the Burrper of the Month for his eloquent reviews.

This month, the honors for burrp! Review of the Month go to vikramkarve's hearty review of Jaffer Bhai's Delhi Darbar. Here is a snippet...
"Eating is not a gustatory experience alone, it.s visual and olfactory as well. Food must look good, smell good, taste good and, most importantly, make you feel good. The Art of Eating. It's Holistic. Multidimensional. Encompassing all domains of your inner being..."
We just loved it. Wouldn't you agree?

Did you know that Poush in Andheri (W) is the only place in Mumbai where you can enjoy authentic Kashmiri food in the comfort of a Shikara*?
*Shikara is a small boat used for quick transport over waterways in Kashmir.
