Buy a drink and get one free!!...happy hours at Arthur's Theme Restaurant.
Ten on Ten :)
Where do I even start? I must have had dinner here at least 5-6 times till now, mostly with my family, and all I have to say is, if you have not had food at Arthur's Theme, you are seriously missing out. I must have tasted only 8-10 dishes till now from their menu, but all of it has been fantastic and perfect. Specially if you are non vegetarian, you will love this place. I'm a sea food fan, and when I'm craving some, Arthur's Theme is all I can think of. Also its a perfect place to go with your family. Nice and quiet. I recommend Solomon Prawns (my absolute favourite), Josephine or Beatrix. They also have a few options in Duck and Lamb which my father loves. Also, try their Salads. Yum!
Over the years there have been many new places that have opened up, which serve Continental food. None of them can even compare with Arthur's Theme. This place is hands down the best continental resto I've been to in Pune.
Have tried many dishes over the years, favourite one being Solomon Prawns! All of them are spectacular! Try this place if you haven't, one thing I assure, you won't regret!
One Of The Best European Restaurants in Pune
Want to test your taste buds, I guarantee you that your buds will and shall be satisfied as I had gone last night and boy oh boy you have no idea, I felt like I was in heaven and was served as if there was no tomorrow. To be specific in a way, I had ordered a Stuffed Chicken Roulade With Creamy Mushroom sauce, Cajun Grilled Fish With Lemon Sauce and Cheese Croquette. We were just 2 of us and the portions were fab, I mean it was worth the price as well as the quantity as well as the quality. OMG you have no idea especially living in Pune you wouldn't find quantity with this price.
So guys prove me wrong. I am a food lover and will always be one !!!
Top choice For Continental Food!
Since its my wife's favourite place for Continental cuisine, I end up here quite often.I like to try different dishes every time. Beatrice was the last chicken dish I tried and as always I wasn't disappointed. My wife had prawns and she was raving about it too.I just feel the place is a little crammed up over time maybe because its getting more and more popular!
The Menu, the variety, the taste, the ambience, the valet parking, everything adds to the experience.
We had Fredrick (Turkey), Charles the bold (Chicken), Humbert (Cottage cheese with rice). They hit the right taste buds.
Another thing i loved about the place was that the prices are 'All Inclusive' and reasonable.
Would visit again.!
The Best of European Food
Arthur's Theme Offers an unsurpassed menu selection of food served in a lively, engaging atmosphere, its a great place to go for a fun night with friends or family.
With their varied and innovative menu, even the appetizers are a treat for both the eyes and the stomach. The regular menu includes pasta, chicken, steak, shrimp, fish, soups, salads, and desserts.
Its the type of restaurant thats both family friendly, as well as a fun place to dine in with your pals. Combine that with the huge selection of foods, reasonable prices and terrific service and youve got an all around great restaurant experience.
This was one of the most pleasantly surprising places i have been to. It was my first experience of European food, and i definitely left the place with a smile on my face!
The food is amazing, right from the bread basket served, up to the main course and desserts. The service is also good, but the place lacks space... Still u will find it cozy...
This is one of the earliest Continental Cuisine Restaurants in Pune.True to European Taste, this is no nonsense French and European Food. Great taste with good serving quantity. Enjoy the treat at your table and Feel Like a King. You can treat yourself and feel Like a FOOD KNIGHT.
The original "Continental" Restaurant!
When I first came to Pune, I heard that Arthur's Theme is the place to go for some great European dining. True! The food was great. The easiest way I could actually taste some delicate French Cuisine. The quantities are plenty for a single diner (one diner = 1 dish) and they have a good spread. Typically, like the KP Lane restaurants, seating is a bit cramped, and its decor could go for some cheering up, but overall a great place to be!
Headed to Arthur's Theme after a gap of nearly 4 months as was travelling on work. Luckily i had reserved a place, so was seated promptly. The food has evolved in the past months and it tasted even better than before. A big thank you to the Arthur's Theme team for such amazing and consistent food...Cheers!!
PeTwo ke peet see...
Again, it not a place for "Desi Delights". Many of my friends complaint, ki khana bekaar hai. It's like, talking to people in French in Hindi and concluding everyone in France is deaf. Ask me, food is good and different. There are two types of taste - Spicy and Bland (that's a big help grrr) .You can order as per your choice after quizzing the waiter.
The place is crowed in weenend nights. Approx 30-45 min to waitng should be a part of you menu (complimentary). If you want to enjoy food and relax, try Weekend, afternoons. Wallet parking is there, so don't waste time to find a suitable parking space, guy will do it. Tip them! We land up paying 500 per head without boose.
Note: Menu uploaded in burrp is Old. The prices have increased.
One of my all time favorites
Every time I've been to Arthur's it's been a lovely experience. Whenever any of my friends come from another city I take them to Arthur's and they too have invariably liked it. One item that I would recommend is the Swiss Cheese Salad. I wonder why they've taken it off the menu card, but it's awesome. All the dishes with their fancy names are interesting. It's definitely a 5 /5 from me for Arthur's. Keep up the good work :-)
Worth a Visit
Not a great fan but this place is worth a visit to for a change......the interior is not so roomy but not to congested also .... The service was nice and very quick ....The French cuisine was nice and yummy..... Got to have Beef after a long time .The Menu card will not put a hole in your pocket as it is affordable ..... Visit it guys for a change than normal routine food
Food & service - nice
We had heard a lot about this place, and we were not disappointed. Was there last Friday evening - good to see that it was not crowded - though we had done reservations, and it has a cafe feel. The lovely weather made it even better.
The two of us decided to have a light dinner and some wine. We picked up a mushroom and cottage cheese starter - very nice, soft and succulent. For the main course, we ordered one of the chicken dishes - was good, though the fillets were a bit chunky. Service was attentive and the wine added to the good cheer.
Overall - a good experience and can cater to a varied dining experfience - romance, friends, cafe, light meal, etc. - it should appeal to all.
Food of Life
revisited this place after a gap of years and the onlt thing what is changed in this place is the interiors. The food is as delicious as it was 2 years back.
My father being a vegan was offered a specially crafted dish which he relished. I dont think there are many restaurants who can innovate at the drop of a hat. Kudos to the chef and owners of Arthur's Theme
Going here for years with family / friends and the food keeps improving each time i visit. My personal favorite is the grilled fish with lemon butter sauce, the steak in pepper sauce and the cheese and jalapeno poppers (to die for)
The chocolate walnut cake is the best dessert i hv eaten. Could i hv the recipe Mr. Arthur's Theme
In Pune during a trip from goa,, we thought we couldnt leave Pune without trying Arthurs all the glowing reviews on burrp. But the experience was so disappointing, I couldn't wait until I got home to rate it.. I'm actually typing this from the restaurant, while my friends are labouring through their entrees.
Unnecessarily confusing menu. Sugary cocktails. Indifferent service. And completely amateurish food. This is continental???? Seriously???
This is a rare case when burrp reviews have completely let me down.
serves one of the best continental food in pune
one has to go to this place only and only for the food....coz it is so so awesome....the ambience and the space are the drawbacks here as they dont offer much....but the food is what you should go for......so go only when ur on a foodie high and not for parties n stuff as its not such a hang out kinda place...........
Love at first taste!
Arthur's theme has been one of my best eating experiences in Pune. Very European. The food was to die for, especially the duck dishes like "Gwen". One of the chicken dishes, Emily, tasted stale. But everything else was good. The service was decent and fairly quick. The menu in itself is a treat to skim through with all fancy European names.
fantastic food n service
we had celebrated our friend birthday burrp had helped us to choose the place n place rocks , every staters we had ordered is mouth watering, main course round is over our imagination, their service is top class, inspite resturant is packed their service to every table is upto the mark.we are the loudest table because we are 10 in all.
all the best to arthurs theme and their staff for their future .
we reccommend to every body in pune visit once.
Think the title says it all. I am again surprised reading many reviews here. May be consistency in the preparation is what is missing or ppl got to start eating at better places (not many in Pune) that server good food.
1. To start with the place is as small as an Udipi restaurant.
2. Ambiance strictly okay.
3. Not meant for a larger group at all.
4. I tried Veggie and Non-Veggie options. Veggie the ingredients used were stale.
Non-Veggie food chicken was stale, tastes next to horrible (yeah, pretty rude).
5. Drinks, Oh I shouldn't say this but Single Malt Whisky was mixed with another type and sold as Single Malt. Cheat!
6. Service is pretty slow, non-attentive and no gesture for not charging on the stale food and a fake drink!
7. No value for money.
Not enough reasons for this restaurant to have more than 1 start rating. What's the point when you can not enjoy a good meal?
Eating with the Expert; Four Things You Must Remem
First : If you are accompanied by a guest on one of your trips to Arthurs Theme, please be sure to either, all order the same soup or tell the waiter to bring them to your table at the same time.
Second : Make sure you have the waiter repeat the order. We had ordered two fresh lime sodas for Chefs twin sons. Only one was served at the table and the waiter forgot about the other one.
Third : Do not order Napolean and Henry VIII, both chicken dishes at the same table
The experience was Arthurs Theme was good. Fine company and good food made for a lovely, satisfying Sunday afternoon. I would like to thank Chef Rakesh Sethi for his pearls of wisdom while dining with me.
Awesome Place Very Cooperative staff.
I went to the restaurant reading the reviews and it helped me alot as it was my spouse's birthday and the staff made candle light arrangements and decorated the table on my request and they gave me a privates section and were very cooperative and really enjoyed
An awesome place to be I will soon visit this place again :)
Good food, ambiance and prices all rolled in one!!
I have been visiting Arthur's Theme for over 6 years now and the food never disappoints me. Granted, I order the same thing every single time I am there (Ferdinand). It has always tasted the same and is always excellent.
As soon as you enter the restaurant, the ambiance reminds you of the small cafes in Europe. The tables and chairs are placed somewhat closely but fortunately, you don't feel that other patrons are invading your space. The servers are impeccably trained and you do feel that you are dining in a fine dining place. They are attentive and are quite well versed with the menu. They usually offer good suggestions if asked.
The food has always been excellent - rich, flavorful and innovative. While it may not be authentic European cuisine, it is different than the regular Italian, Mexican cuisine that is more easily available. My suggestion would be to concentrate on the taste of the food and its flavors rather than trying to categorize it. My friends all love their non-vegetarian dishes and everyone I go with enjoys the food.
All in all, Arthur's Theme is a treat - wonderful food, good service, cozy ambiance and at a very affordable prices!
Maybe April is just not their month. In Pune for a random 3 day visit from Bombay, met a couple of friends and decided to go to Arthur's (Over "Aawarey Maratha Khanawal" which i still regret) for dinner and drinks. Reached around 10.45 and saw a guy selling momo's right outside, i was tempted but then was told to behave and eat at the restaurant we all had set out for. Got a table quickly, was happy it was dimly lit. Passed the menu to Z ( she speaks French, and knows the cuisine) and waited for her to order for all of us. First thing she says "This is not French food! Everything under Appetizers/Main Course are just names of cities/people from France". Anyway, ordered stiff drinks to help the night ease in and ordered for Jalapeño Poppers and something Lamb. If food can be a retard, here it was staring at me like a, retard. The Jalapeño Poppers had a FAT "besan" coating and the lamb was just...pffft.
I even ran out to see if the Momo guy was still around, he had gone home and we realized we should too. Back at Oakwood, we loved the the sesame chicken wings and the lamb biryani... but thats another review all together.
Oh and Mr Arthur, you get two stars because your drinks were stiff and you managed to get me wasted. So good job with that.
Thank you for your time.
A brilliant surprise!
Was visiting Pune for a couple of days, and loved my only meal out. Arthur's theme had food that had great flavor combinations, veggies that were just perfectly cooked [those butter-sauteed carrots!], and rich food that left us all wow-ed.
Started with the onion rings & the bruschetta'ish thing. The onion rings were honestly the only the lowlight -- a bit soggy and not flavored well. The olive + sundried tomatoes bruschetta was really good, on a soft garlicy-sourdough bread.
For mains, we got:
i) the Honey mustard salad -- we all licked our spoons clean. The mustard was not overpowering at all, and the veggies had a superb burnt taste. So good, that we ordered a 2nd serving of this right away.
ii) The saffron cottage cheese steak: the saffron flavor was a bit strong, but many of us on the table really liked it. The cottage cheese was stuffed with a pesto sauce. My fav.
iii) The veg croquettes with a herb sauce: the sauce here is pretty special
iv) The potato pancake with ratatouille: I loved the potato pancake; it cut the strong flavors of the ratatouille just perfectly.
All the food looked pleasing to the eye as well, and the attention to detail about little things came through as well.
We all wanted to eat dessert there because the rest of the food was such a highlight, but they don't have *any* egg-less options.
Presentation: 5 stars
Flavor: 5 stars
Service: 4 stars
Service size: 4 stars
VFM (value for money): 5 stars
(It was a Rs. 1300 bill for the above)
I have been to Arthur's theme for a while now and I am fan of this restaurant. Its not a big restaurant but their food has been very tasty. I usually go with their suggestion and always been happy coming out.
I rated 4 since the ambiance is not so great. For the food its always 5/5
Best continental place....oh yeah
Went there a couple of week's back, after about 3 years of not having lived in Pune. As good as it always was, and the steaks are still to die for! I do not know if they have a branch, but these guys definitely need to spread out, and wide....not necessarily within India only though!
I've been here about 10 times since I discovered this place 3 years ago. Very good Continental food with quirky names, and at affordable prices too. I also love their range of meat from lamb to pork to beef to turkey. Delicious!
Thankfully, a lot of people haven't found out about it/don't like Continental food in Pune, so it isn't crowded, and you'll have almost no trouble getting a table, even on weekends.
Best Continental In Pune
I visited Arthur's Theme for dinner with the same friend I normally visit with, and I score it an unbeaten 4.8/5. We ordered a garlic and Cheese-Jalapeno dish for starters, which was brilliantly cooked. The sauce served along with the dish was also very nice, and complemented the dish very well. I cannot vouch for the veg food, though my friend says that the salad she ordered was good, which was a Honey Mustard salad. However, I am happy to say that Arthur's Theme has got the recipe for Fabian right. An absolutely fantastic steak cooked to perfection, served with mashed potatoes and although the original was boiled greens, I asked them to change it to fries, which was willingly done. I have not had better steak, and only the Filet Mignon at Tertulia would come close to comparison. The fries were also well cooked, not burnt, and the mashed potatoes were dreamy. I mean creamy. We finished off with a Tiramisu to share. I found it a little strong, which is fine for my taste, but it was not fresh. Perhaps made in the morning. It was fine, not in accordance with the excellence of the rest of the meal. But not bad. We made this known to the friendly owner sitting at the front door, and he said he would look into it. All in all, one of the best experiences, and certainly the best meal I've had in a long, long time.
Differnet yet very good!!!!
I was here yesterday with my wife and I tell you this place is awesome. I love the variety of food, they serve everything from duck to prawns. Meal for two with two drinks would cost around 1000 bucks, but its worth the money. Average drink costs about 150 for 60ml. The Pasta with brown sauce was alright, but Henry VIII - chicken steak in their custom sauce was brilliant. Am definitely going back soon to try the duck that they have to offer.
Love the ambiance, its small cozy and love the service. Extremely polite waiters and the owner. Do visit very highly recommended....
It's Different - It's Great
My friends and family hv been visiting this restaurant since ages and they hv managed to keep the standard of food constant....i love the cajun fish, chicken roulade, barbecued turkey, cheese croquettes, chocolate walnut cake.....the list goes on and on...everything is amazing...all the best guys!!!!
Amazin dining experience!!
Tell you what, good ambiance, clean restaurant, Great food, everything from Ferdinand to starters to iced teas to Blueberry cheese cake (its awesome) was just too good!
The service was good too.....
4 of us literally ordered a lot - 3 starters, 5 iced teas, 5 main dishes, 2 desserts and costed us pretty decent @ 400 per person....
All in all amazing dining experience!!
Good place and an affordable price
Awesome place. I had been these yesterday, had Barbequed Turkey(Fredrick) and Fish Fillet starter(Luda).
I also had Chicken soup wine falvored (Guy Maverick) and Pasta.
They were yummy. Very economical and one can anjoy an evening amazingly over there.
You got to believe me the above all cost only INR 810.
Food maybe good, service otherwise
For my first visit here, Ill say the food I ordered was good but it took really too long to get to the table especially with so few tables to serve.
This place will be great for friends or family who have come to chit chat but for a group who has come to experience the food, be prepared with a long conversation topic to while away the time.
Amazing Food at great Prices
I've spent my amazing 6 yrs of student life in Pune. And all throughout Arthur's Theme used to be one of our favourite places to eat. Not only does the food taste good, the prices are quite light on the pocket (and this esp i can say after spending my good 6 months in Delhi)...its a must visit place for anyone visiting/stayin in pune...
This place has had rave reviews. So much so that it is put up as "one place you should not miss".
Yesterday we popped in for a late lunch.
Given the hour, the place was not too full and in fact, people were wrapping up their meals or, spending time chatting. Too loudly in fact.
We started off with Currimbhoy Salad and Luda (fish chunks in coriander base). The main course was Magnus Maximus and St Genevieve. The salad had a nice dressing and was tossed up well, so that is an upside. However, it had this raw taste to it which marred the after-bite. Luda was good especially because it was presented well.
Nothing much to say about the main courses. I'd go as far to suggest that avoiding Magnus Maximus would be a good idea. It is not what it is described on the menu as. The Luda seemed to be a bit hastily done.
Summing up, it wasn't a rave-home-to-friends about experience. I daresay that this joint is not resting on its laurels rather than actual delivery. The service is unobtrusive and good. However, the Saturday crowd of loud, inane and banal chatter did not add value to the experience. They could do well to change the cutlery and crockery too. Chipped side dishes and main plates don't make for a good eating experience
Are you kidding??
Ok, maybe I've been eating at some of the best restaurants for quite some time, but just the same on an absolute scale this place was horrible.
When I first sat down and saw the dirty menus and noticed the general uncleanliness I nearly walked out - and wished I had. I ordered French Onion Soup, some Scicillian Bread appetizer (bread with olives), and what was supposed to be the best and most popular chicken dish. I also ordered a small King Fisher beer after learning they didn't have any imported wine.
The soup was fair. Surprisingly there was no cheese for a dish that was supposed to be authentic. This was the best of what was to come.
The bread appetizer was terrible. After the first bite I forced myself to eat two of the five appetizer pieces of bread. I couldn't handle any more and waited for the main dish.
The chicken was essentially deep fried chicken served with a side of gravy and french fries. This wasn't exactly what I had in mind - but hey - I thought I'd give it a try. The chicken was very crunchy, which is good for fried chicken - but it had no taste! The gravy didn't taste good at all. The fries were fair but a bit on the soggy side (surprising giving how crunchy the chicken was). I ended up dousing the chicken with salt to add some flavor.
In the end I walked away still hungry and with a terrible taste in my mouth. I was very dissapointed by the earlier posts and although I have never provided reviews before I felt compelled to leave this to try to forewarn others who may feel compelled to try this restaurant.
Hope this helps.
Hmm.. Let's See..
So, the hardcore foodies that we are, my husband and I made a special trip to Pune this weekend - just to explore food options in this buzzing little town. Since we had just two nights to eat out we narrowed down our options to Malaka Spice and Arthur's Theme, after reading al the brilliant reviews on burrp. While we absolutely loved the vibe and food and Malaka Spice on Saturday night, dinner at Arthur's Theme was a bit lukewarm.
Firstly, the service was pretty sloppy. Let aside recommending, our waiter could not even converse confidently. The menu had just sooo much to offer that even after browsing through it for 15 minutes we couldn't decide what we should have. We ended up settling for Cecilia (some bruchetta with olives and sundried tomatoes) The tomatoes were very chewy but the preparation tasted good on the whole. Alongside, we asked for two glasses Chantilli which was the only red wine available. Next we ordered broccoli soup. This one was excellent - thick and flavourful. For dinner we wanted something light. We asked for herb tossed vegetables but the waiter didn't get it. So we asked for Columbus which was herbed vegetables on a bed of spinach with Florentine sauce. We said we did not want the sauce. The waiter insisted we get brown sauce instead. We said we did not want ANY sauce but the waiter STILL insisted have with 'brown sauce'. Whatever is this 'brown sauce' made of, prey tell me??
We gave in to pressure and ordered for two of the same dish. It didn't taste bad - just wasn't what we wanted that night. Tired and disappointed a little bit we asked for the bill. It came to Rs. 1600 for -
1 starter (cecilia)
1 broccoli soup (1 by 2)
3 glasses of wine
We paid Rs.250 per glass of wine! We thought it was outrageous especially since we had bought that very bottle of wine from the chateau indage vineyards in narayangaon for a meager Rs. 500 earlier that day. Also, we had had a much bigger and better meal with a whole bottle of wine at Malaka Spice the previous night for the same price.
The strangest part was that we did not even get a bill for the wine. The amount was hastily added to the total in pen. Later it occurred to us that we were not even given a drinks menu. Everyone that asked for a liquor menu was told everything is available but 'there's no menu'.
Perhaps a good way of making some money on the side - Off the record!
Three stars to this experience only because we were really there to have a good time, enjoyed each other's company and the food was acceptable.
Pune's LITTLE ITALY
A very small place, u can just miss it coz d board is covered bu the trees around. I struggled to find it myself, but the food compensated for all d effort taken. A Completly italian menu but a very well explained one, it gives detailed explanations in english so u cant go wrong in ordering. I had d cordon-bleu-chicken n i must say it was simply out of this wiorld, it jus melts in d mouth, its got mushroom n spinach stuffing in a very cheesy mustard sauce. As u just slice d chicken n put it in ur mouth.. its just simply sinful!!!.. The ceaser salad was jus too yummy. u SHUD also leave some plc for their deserts. I had d tiramisu, which was simpy fabulous.. It a place too diff to pick a few good things.. almost all dishes r worth tryin..
I actually am falling short of words to explain this plc..
so have a blast...
excellent european eatery
warm & cosy place to go for dinner , for an excellent & memorable european meal.
Serves Turkey. Choices gets a bit difficult as you want to taste everything on the menu....you cant go wrong with the food at this under-rated eatery which opens up for dinner only. The prices are reasonable and value for money.
A personal fav. of mine.
