It was very bad experience with Sukanta as we waited for more than Hour for our number with my 2 friends. When asked for our number it was just 4 waiting but 10 numbers went but our number was still in waiting. After asking at reception they were saying just to wait and being rude to us. Finally we found that our number has been passed away and our name was also not announced and we went witout having food....VERY BAD EXPERIENCE
Great for having thali..
For Rs. 190/- I had veg. thali and enjoyed it a lot. i feel this is one of the places where you'll get super good food. The ambiance is good.. though they could work on the seating arrangements. The service they offered was good. The way they treat customers makes you feel pleasant and comfortable.
Please try it once of you come near to deccan. :)
Good Food and nice service!!!!
Being a Non veggie it was really tough for me to celebrate my friend B'day in a veg place(of course we all are missing the chilled beer also), but the host (b'day boy) said just try once otherwise another party :)
We went to that place neat about 8:30 and damm i was really horrified when i saw a log waiting list in there register. After 1 hour we got a call from waiter (thanks god).
When we enter in restaurants i find the ambiance was OK (not too good not very bad).
When we took the seat they start servicing us the food.
REALLY food was amazing and the quick service i really appropriate the staff.
Quality Quantity is really up to the mark
The only start missing in rating is just because of waiting time .
MUST GO PACE for food lover.
Being a veggie, I was a regular visitor of this place though I never liked the food much here ever, but the culture was good. The way they serve, the way they treat you was fab.
But,sadly they even lost that one charm which they had. On my last visit, I had such a terrible experience there, that I specially made this burrp account to share my experience.
I reached at around 8.30 with my girlfriend, and as there wasn't much rush, we got the table without any delay. We both had missed our lunch so we were damn hungry and really excited, but the moment we had our first bite, the excitement vanished. The food was crap. No matter how bad a thali is, you will always manage to have a few dishes which are good but Sukanta set an exception here also. All the dishes in the thali were equally pathetic.
This is one area which really surprised me. The service here was never very professional, but it was usually good in my earlier visits. But this time, I felt like I was sitting in a langar where they are supposed to serve us free meals. Personal attention is one thing, they were not even bothered about whether we need anything. Every time I wanted something, I had to catch the waiter serving that item. To add to all this, in the middle of our meal, our bill was presented on our table. As if they were requesting us to leave soon. Mind u, we were not sitting there for too long, it was hardly 10mins, not even that. Never mind, I was anyway not interested in sitting there for any longer, so I went to wash my hand and then to the counter to clear my bill. My bill was 360. I had 60 bucks change in my pocket,so I gave the old guy sitting behind the counter 560, so that he could directly return to me Rs.200. Instead of giving me a thankful smile, the guy literally threw back the 60 bucks on the counter and returned the change out of 500. I was really stunned. The guy was too old, even older than my grandfather, so I didn't say anything to him, but is this the way to run a restaurant? Plz.
value for money:
For the quality they served me this time, the food is not even worth 50 bucks, forget 180 bucks for a thali. My college canteen serves better thali than this in Rs.70.
For me, NO MORE SUKANTA.
Service can be awful although food is good
I have visited this place quite often. This happens to be the budget vegetarian hotel of choice in my office.
Food can be rated as good. There are many varieties and menu changes daily. I am not sure which style of food this is. It may be mix of marwari and gujrati.
The waiters will keep serving you non stop.
The disadvantage of this place is that service can be awful. hospitality is unheard of word in such places.
Some of waiters are rowdy and manner less. Hospitality, sober behavior are unheard of things to these brutes. These people can ruin celebrations.
One of the best Thali's in Pune
I had been to this place on my b'day with family and it really proved to be really good. I have been to multiple other dining places where Thali system is served and this had been the best till now for me ..... there is lot of variety in the subji .... the gujrathi kadi was fabulous ..... and the basundi was too good ........ and special mention of the rice quality which they served .... It was really very good and I enjoyed it ........ Atleast one of the best dining place in Pune
A complete thali
I had gone to this place for dinner yesterday and found it good/okay.
Kind of typical thali restaurant. The food is Rajasthani style with 2 sweets everyday. As it is mango season right now, there was Keshar Aamras which was too good. The second sweet was Chocolate burfy? I could not understand how one will be having that in dinner.
Then there was Dal Bati, Gujarati Kadhi which was good. The samosa and Surali wadi which was served as a side dish were not great. 4 subzis I guess kinda average nothing great.
No plain daal with the rice. Also served Khichadi. And served Chaas as well. Everything served with lots of ghee as it is a Rajasthani place. :)
All this for Rs. 140 and for parcel they charge Rs. 200. And the place is not very big, so there is waiting on the weekends. :)
