This is my favorite place to eat in Pune. The ambience is great and the food is better. I would pay nearly twice as much for the food I have. The staff is welcoming and the manager likes to make himself known to all and always likes to ensure you have a great time. The only disappointing thing is sometimes the waiting time can be disproportionate to how busy the place is. X
Bouncers are racist
@broadcalling: The Ship in kalyaninagar , we were stopped and 2 non Indians allowed without cover charge wtf #boycott , never going here again Went in the evening after booking a table and we were asked to pay cover charge but 2 white people were allows inside without checkng their ID or being stopped ... F..... up completely
The manager apologised but I am writing here so people are aware and boycot such places unless they change their policies
Best European restaurant in pune
This restaurant is probably the best restaurant I have ever enjoyed in my last 5 years in pune.
Fresh hot food served and consistency maintained for last so many years.
White sauce pasta with chicken, burgers chicken and beef. Can't be missed and on top chilled mug of beer is best during summers.
Best Beef Burgers in Pune
Hi, this goes out to all burger fans and meat lovers. The ship also known as sailors serves up beef burgers which are awesomly insane.
Thier juicy lucy burger is tender and cheese melted inside the burger All their burgers are cheaper than Hard Rock Cafe and much more tastier.
I went to Ship after work for a drink on a wednesday evening. They did not allow me in because I was wearing shorts (temp is around 35C). When I was standing there, a family of 3 were turned away because their kid (approx 10 year old) was wearing shorts. Another couple of foreigners were turned away because they did not have a woman with them. This is really weird. I used to go their often since its close to office. It had an easy going atmosphere earlier. No issues about stags or kids or shorts. I tried calling and sending an SMS to the person who the staff said was their boss. A chap by the name Adarsh Hegde. No response from him either. I guess they couldnt care less about their customers
Not bad, needs alittle work
Sat on the terrace. Ambience was nice but it was so dark I couldn't read the menu. The waiter held up his cell phone so I could see it. Music was pleasant. The crowd was nonexistent but I was there on a Sunday evening. Filet Mignon was very tough. The cheesecake was one of the best I have had in my life. I would recommend it but go early and sit in the lounge. Or, bring a flashlight.
Very Average, The ship sinks!!!
Well, a group of us, decided to try this joint out, as it is supposedly "happening"!
We sat on the terrace, but it was too dark to read the menu. There was a good breeze so otherwise it was pleasant. Downstairs was too loud, with the DJ remixing old rock standards with some beats, horror of horrors!!!
The food was really average, the Greek Salad was a rip off, the Chicken wings were just so so. The Tiramisu was good and so was the Fish in Mustard sauce. Over priced for the stuff they churned out. Booze was at standard rates, like any other up market lounge. Noticed that most people were only drinking, not eating at all. One time place, will never go back there again.
excellent food and ambience
this place has a very international pub atmosphere; i was blown away with the ambience and music of the place when i first visited the ship. The food at this place is easily one of the best i have tried in this country they have a very good selection of grills and seafood. The pasta and the dessert is outstanding. At my previous visit i noticed the menu was changed but it got better as they have added some sushi and sndwiches on the menu. This place has a bar which can sit on all through out the day and bartenders are amazing who not only make fabolous cocktails but also keep you entertained all the time. The COCKT-ZILA is a must try on the beverage menu..
I stongly recommend this place to anybody looking for having a few beers and drinks during the day must visit ship as they have a screen, television, fussball and good music all through out the day which keeps the entertainment on at all times.
I must admit - I still miss The Ship of older days (management). It was much more relaxed and enjoyable - the music was mellow, the crowd was elegant and the food was great. So much so that I could sneak my son (11) there for a quick fusion cuisine taste.
The place setting and the service thankfully is still the same - but has been revamped in ambience and also the food menu. The food and drinks are costly and the crowd is young - the music is still mostly retro but loud.
For drinks - it is still standard - try ships special pitcher or the standard draught. For finger food veg felafel, chicken satays and the best one is the chicken crispy fried in honey sauce - that is divine here.
Nothing muc to write about the food here - but hey the standard lasagne and other conti stuff is pretty decent - but then The Ship is a bar - right.
So take your fill and the munchies - if you are done with chk strips and satays and phelaphel - go for potato wedges and boze and you are set for the evening.
Prices are decent - and a evening with a pitcher and some more pints along with standard muchies mentioned above will set you back by 1000 Rs. Not bad at all...
Good service and accomodating staff- they never turn you away - however crowded the place is - be on the bar stool and wait for your turn sipping the lager.
If you love english pubs - you will like thi
Good ambiance, good food
Enter this place and the nautical theme just blows you away. I love their bar setting - one of the best in Pune. You will find a lot of foreigners here on any given day. The service is polite and helpful, the menu is eclectic and has lots of variety, cuisine-wise and the mood is usually relaxed and cosy.
We arrived a little before we had booked our table, and had to wait at the bar (the only empty place) till about 10 min after our booking time. They apologised nicely to us and when we were not very happy with our table, they promised to change it whenever they could - and did, between our starter and main course (without having to ask twice).
The drinks are good, the variety is really good. My only gripe was that there was not much to choose from for the vegetarians. Anyway, after the basic starters and cocktails, (all good but nothing extraordinary) hubby went for the pasta and I for the ratatouille. Both were excellent.
The desserts - not much variety, but you can make do.
All in all, a nice place to unwind on a weekday, without the ultra-noisy atmosphere that seems to be the new thing for 'it' places.
Will surely return to this place.
