Not so Good
On a Friday evening, while getting bored, we decided to try out this new place Volare. Me and three of my friends went out for dinner at Volare. We booked our table through hungrytable.in and conveniently got a table at the restaurant.
Ambiance of the restaurant is like a normal restaurant, nothing out of the usual. The restaurant consists of two areas, the lounge on the first floor, and family dining restaurant on the lower floor.
The service is slow, and can definitely be improved upon.
The food was totally average. We ordered the veg kebab platter and the Seekh Kebab. The veg platter consisted of assortment of veg starters, and none of them tasted more than average. In main course we ordered the Wild Mushroom Rissoto and it was a task to finish it off, as it tasted bad! We also ordered the Shepherd's pie, which tasted good and was enough to serve two people. For desserts, we ordered the Volare Sundae, as the options are very limited. It was decent.
Overall, not a good experience, hence would recommend not to visit this place.
Love the Italian
This is a beautiful restaurant located on the Baner pashan link road. I have been to this restaurant twice earlier. I love their Variety of Pizzas and bruschetta... A good experience for people looking for a fine dining experience in pashan and Baner area.
Not at All Value for Money.
I went to Volare last week. The ambiance of the restaurant is good for a date or for an evening of fine dining. First, we ordered the Wild mushroom soup which was quite good, then we ordered the veg platter which was low on taste as well as on presentation. For main course, we ordered the Wild Mushroom Risotto, it was tasteless and poorly prepared. The highlight of the evening was the dessert which was a Volare Sundae, it was well-made and we were delighted after eating it.
Overall, its quite an overpriced restaurant. If they improve the food , then the place can be tried.
Won a voucher and went to try out this restaurant!!
The lounge upstairs is nice and cosy. The restaurant is on the ground floor only. The ambiance is nice and soothing, but nothing out of the ordinary to please your senses. Regular area, not too crowded even on weekends.
Service is good. The place starts closing down by 11 pm, and they shut the lights off, even when people are dining around, which I considered unacceptable. While we went, there was only a couple at the restaurant. I have heard, its mostly empty!!
Highly overpriced food!! Had it not been for the voucher, I would have never liked this restaurant. We ordered the veg platter. The mushroom tikka was good. The paneer starter was just average, while the aloo pakoras they gave us was nothing great!! In the main course we had ordered Veg ratatouille, which also was average. In soups , we tried the Minestrone soup, which is okayish. The Volare special dessert was good.
Final Verdict :
If you want to have a quiet dinner, this place is good, but the food is just average, so no use wasting money over it!
Beware Ripoff Central
After reading the previous review and a recommendation from one of my tweep, i decided to pay it a visit.
I visited the place at 12pm sharp with the hope that the buffet would be nice and hot and i would be the first person to try it. When i went in, i was dissapointed. The place was not ready for service and it dint seem like there was a buffet in the afternoon. I checked when the place would be ready for service and i was told at 12.30.
I was a little surprised, that the place has no sign-age about the timing or that its not open for service. Nevertheless i checked in at 12.30 and when i went in, some ppl were already there so i guess it was open for business.
I checked about the buffet, and i was told that the buffet is only served if we have a confirmed guest list of 15-20 ppl of more. I was very dissapointed on hearing that. but since the buffet is not the only thing a restaurant is rated on, i decided to give the ala-carte a try.
the moment i opened the menu, i felt a lump in my throat. The place is not a 3/4/5 star place, nor does it have a rating nor does it have a notable chef and the prices were nothing less that astronomical. Everything from starters to last page on the menu was in 3 figures. The cheapest of the lot was the Bisleri !
The earlier review mentioned about 299++ , but these prices were busting my nuts altogether. It had a lot of items on its menu. The meen moili, schinchuan beef, pot roast chicken with thyme, crab cakes
All these items no doubt sound delicious, but i was not in a mood to order anything given the fact the amounts of food served on the other table were sufficient for 1.
Hakka noodles veg were priced at inr 195 ! i can get 2 servings of kick ass haaka noodles from Miniwok for that price.
I dint know why they wanted to server Perrier and Evian when Bisleri was priced at INR 50.
I was always under the impression that bottle water has to be sold at MRP irrespective of where it is sold, but after some research i found this article which states otherwise.
even then, i was not able to convince myself to order anything form the main course. I slowly drifted toward the end of the menu and saw the sundae's section.
The volare sundae boasted of a lot of berries, ice cream - oh in short it promised the moon. What did i get - a big ass glass, 3 tea spoons of ice cream( van, straw, choc ) with some strawberry crush in between , one flimsy oreo on top and one long handle spoon.
Mea Culpa - i dint mention the amount of space in between the 3rd scoop and the bottom of the glass - too much it was
Imagine u order for a a dom perignon, the amount served, doest even wet your toungue - this was similar case.
Not to mention i was taxed 12.5% on the 200 rs ice cream i ate.
The ice cream dint satisfy my hunger, nor did it justify the price. Probably it was the price of the 200ml of air served as well.
If u want to drill humongous holes in your pocket - head here.
Also the listing is wrong. The pricing is not close to moderate !
Superb Dining Experience
Newly opened place. Besides the US Pizza, Regent Plaza, on Baner -Pashan Link Road. They need to put up a sign indicating a Multi-Cuisine Fine Dining Restaurant, else people would not even know they exist. From outside, it looks like a salon doorway.
But, once inside, it is a different story altogether. Beautiful, pleasant spacious and calm ambiance and tastefully done interiors.
Since visiting in the afternoon, opted for Buffet rather than ala-carte.
Soups, starters, Main Course, Veg, Non Veg, Salads/snacks and sweets.
Veg Manchow Soup, Chicken Kabab/Veg Dumpling as starters, then, 1 Chicken, 1 Paneer and 1 Fish as main course, 2 Dry Veg, 1 Dal and 1 Pulao plus Salads and Snacks. To end it all, hot Gulab Jamun.
All in excellent taste and reasonable priced. Efficient Service, with hot Rotis/Naans being brought to the table by attentive servers.
Buffet is 290+ taxes. But, was given a discount and hence it came down to Rs 555 for 2 people. Definitely, well worth the money spent.
And the ala carte menu is tempting enough for few more visits, which I will be definitely scheduling. All in all, a very good addition to culinary delight in the Baner-Pashan Area. Fine Dine within reasonable price.
One minus point : They still did not have their Credit Card machine working, so carry cash for payments. Hope it gets resolved soon, along with their sign-board/Identity crisis..!!
